I was stuck in traffic so I decided to check out King Burrito on a friend's recommendation. Ordered a carnitas burrito and was pretty disappointed by the portion size. I'm pretty sure the tortilla weighed more than the contents. They also keep the salsa cups behind the counter, I assume to limit the amount that you can use. It always bugs me when people nickle and dime you on condiments. Staff was friendly enough and the burrito tasted good, but for $5 I want more bang for my buck. read more

As somebody already mentioned, this place is attached to a gas station and I would never have thought it pumped out such good Mexican grub! It seems to be an older couple who are always working there and always accommodating. There have been times when I just stopped in to by a couple pounds of carnitas or carne asada and they were accommodating for something not priced out on the menu. If you're looking for a good "Baja" style fast Mexican food place, this is your spot. Don't be alarmed by the fact that this restaurant is tucked away in the side of a gas station. We think it actually adds to the charm of the joint, with more emphasis on "joint" rather than "charm". Let's be honest...good Mexican food doesn't come from restaurants with waiters that wear nice button downs, slacks or skirts... Good Mexican food comes from "joints" with cheesy menu photos (or no photos at all), murals of Mexico painted on the wall, a horchata machine, and an old Mexican woman running the register whose English vocabulary includes all words on the menu, as well as "thank you" and "have a nice day". All of these elements exist at King Burrito. Good, authentic, greasy Mexican food! The Chicken Soup here is basically one of the best Mexican soups that we've ever had. Don't be discouraged by the co-location inside. Chevron gas station - this is a great place for casual Mexican food. Clean and well lit, serving all the regular well known Mexican classics. Portions are good and prices are very reasonable. Each week day have their own specials - try the less than $2 fish tacos on Sunday. read more

I have an ambivalent relationship with King Burrito. In terms of the cost of the daily specials and location, our arrangement is wonderful: quick, easy, and I can fill myself up for little more than a few dollars. Unfortunately, King Burrito can be a lazy and miserly partner. Carnitas can come with big chunks of fat, fish tacos are often mushy like baby food, and the carne asada will sometimes taste like generic mystery meat. Portion-wise you never know whether you're going to get a burrito the size of a football or roll of pennies. Overall, I'm not saying don't go to King Burrito, just be in the gambling mood. read more

We always get good service and food from this married duo. Yes it's Mexican Fast food but worth the price and hits the spot every time. Careful when you purchase when using debit or credit card... an adder of $.50 is charged with no posting of action and no explanation furnished when asked. First experience at any good to go facility adding other when posted or advised. A burrito cost $8.70 including the adder.... food was ok but facility should advise in advance of the adder. This place is a great little place to stop. The food is always tasty and fresh when we've gotten it, but other reviewers are right when they say this place is stingy. We love that they have a special on shrimp tacos on Wednesdays, but is it really "special" when it only has 2 shrimp instead the usual 3? (From reading older reviews, this used to have 3 shrimp, not only 2...) They ration out napkins and charge for refills as well, so that's a disappointment, too. However, there are a few items on the menu that we really enjoy, and we keep going back for those. It's got 3 of those huge, long breaded shrimp filling the sizable taco and a few shreds of cabbage all smothered in a creamy white sauce. I may not have paid attention to the location of this casual hideaway, as it is inside of a Chevron gas station store. My son had us meet him there. The shared private-single bathroom is always very clean and well stocked, a big plus on our list. King Burrito is consistently a good choice when you are having a Mexi-food craving. The portions are generous. The owners are friendly. The prices are decent, especially if you just want a quick bean and cheese burrito. Based on location this is an unlikely favorite of our family but the food really hits the spot and the owner couple are great and we end up getting take-out from here once a week. Finally decided to try out this place.. First impression when I walked in was... Decent dining area .. clean inside .. Decided to try there king breakfast burrito. Price was reasonable .. but when I went to pay Lady wanted to charge for using my debit card. Usually there is sigh. That kinda bugged me But still went ahead and got burrito.. 3 different sauces . Got 2 of each to try.. Went to work and opened up burrito.. Decent size... Took my first bite , and no flavor .. Kinda disappointing .. all 3 sauces tasted amazing. Green being my favorite . Primos market has better tasting burrito For way cheaper .. Defiantly would not recommend for price. I might go back try something different But don't be getting breakfast burrito. read more

In honor of Cinco de Mayo we bought one of each type of street tacos; pollo asada, carne Asada, adobada, and Carnitas. There are four tacos per order. Everything was delicious! The adobada was crispy. The pollo asada was very well seasoned. The corn tortillas were fresh and their salsas have great flavor. The establishment is very clean and the owners are super nice. This is a fantastic burrito shop. Their food and sauce is always good. Don't discount the fact that they are located in a gas station as they are not affiliated with the gas station. My personal favorite is the vegetarian burrito because it's loaded with lots of vegetables and pico. The chips and guacamole are also really good The only downfall to this burrito shop is that they are somewhat slow and usually can't ever take an order over the phone because some the staff only speak Spanish.
