I was VERY disappointed with this place. The day I tried it I was famished. I'd spent hours rushing around town lugging heavy shopping bags, so by the time I made it there I was shaking and my stomach was growling. I ordered the sample plate for $9.99 thinking it would be enough to fill me up and then some. I was wrong. The food, while delicious, was in miniscule portions. I ate every morsel and left still hungry, feeling cheated. Here's what was on the unnecessarily large plate they brought me: 3 small pieces of falafel, 3 under-stuffed dolmas, a thin scraping of hummus with a pool of oil in the center, a tiny bit of baba ghanouj (ditto on the oil), a spoonful of tabbouleh salad (mostly parsley, not great), and a scrawny, flimsy piece of pita bread divided in quarters. Whole, it must have been about the size of a small "slider" sized taco shell. Oh, and there was a container of shatta (a spicy pepper sauce) in place of tahini since the owner kindly mentioned that there's dairy in the latter. Most of the food was of perfectly good quality and seemed fresh. I just wish there had been more of it, and for 10 bucks there should have been. It was not a meal, but an appetizer. Truly a hidden gem in Sebastopol. King Falafel is the only place I know of that sells Gyro's, and they are delicious every time. Friendly staff and nice location. Def recommend it. read more

This place is brand new and totally worth trying and going to again and again! I went this Sunday with my boyfriend and I got the gyro with lamb and he got some sort of dish with ground of meat. The lamb was perfectly cooked and the special sauce was delicious. The lady behind the counter, Karina she said her name was, gave me extra sauce and was very attentive and kind. She let us try samples too! My boyfriend is a total spicy fiend and had a sauce caused shiratta or something like that, and said it was the best spicy sauce he had ever had. I noticed the falafels also have the spicy sauce on them, so be wary in case you don't like spicy :) The prices are not bad at all (nothing is more than like 9 dollars)! So its a keep delicous lunch or dinner. I hope people go and try this place because its worth it! read more

With all of the rave reviews on Yelp about this place, I was really excited to try it. I ordered the Supreme gyro plate which comes with a lamb/beef gyro and a side of baba ghannoj, tabouli salad, hummus, pickles & turnips. I'm very sad to say that the tabouli salad was missing that fresh Mediterranean taste. The salad was doused with olive oil and as a result, none of the other wonderful flavors were allowed to shine through. The hummus was pretty tasty and I did enjoy its overall flavor. The baba ghannoj however was not to my expectation. Authentic baba ghannoj should have that superb roasted eggplant taste throughout. This side dish was sadly bland anf barely appealing. I don't personally like pickles or turnips, so I cant comment on those. The gyro on the other hand, was the star of the show. Very well seasoned & the meats were extremely flavorful. The tzatziki sauce was also an excellent flavor enhancement to the dish. read more

Yummy, yummy, yummy! We were greeted by a very friendly woman who (since it was our first time) helped us decide what to order. There is kindof a diner ambiance, with lots of clean open space. I had the deluxe falafel sandwich. I asked for it without shatta because I am not a spicy fan. It came hot, *huge* and delicious. My boyfriend ordered a lamb gyro and the chicken and beef kabob plate. He said that he's had better gyro, but the kabob plate was superb. He *loved* the hummus. We'll definitely be back. read more

Not bad considering the distance from Greece on the other side of the world. Unlike other reviewers, I did get plenty of meat in mine. The meat was pleasantly flavorful and tender. Other ingredients were fresh. It was a healthy size. My main observation of that the tzatziki "sauce" was not a sauce. It was diced cucumber in runny juice that resembled a watered down tzatziki flavor. I really prefer a medium viscosity tzatziki sauce that coats the ingredients because that's what can make or break a great gyro. Avoid the dolmas if you prefer them made from scratch. These are canned. The Baba ghanoush is definitely worth trying. Smokey as it should be gets light and fluffy. If you like eggplant, this may be for you. Hummus could have used more acid. Staff is nice. Place is clean with plenty of seating. Would be a good place for a small meeting. read more

I had the Deluxe Falafel Sandwich (#2 on the menu) served with hummus, tomato, lettuce, eggplant, pickles, tahini sauce, and shatta sauce. It was absolutely delicious. Food this good, this healthy, this low cal, and this flavorful is food that can make this life long meat eater appreciate that vegetarianism is possible. They brought extra pita which was nice and easy. They have quite spicy options for the wrap if you would like (which I did). This place is the real deal. Having grown up in SF with an abundance of quality authentic Mediterranean places around town, I feel like it's as good as any. I will say that I've only tried the falafel wrap, and the falafel was a little over done, and tasted a little bitter due to the dark exterior - perhaps a min too long in the fryer. I took a star off for this. But the flavors were dead on, awesome tabouli, hummus and fresh tasting ingredients. The service was friendly and fast, I had take out. Parking was easy, right out front. Bottom line, I'll be back to explore more of the menu, and I look forward. read more

Just came around 6PM to grab some dinner. It was absolutely amazing!! Always had falafels at another restaurant but will definitely be coming here for them now. We had the lamb gyro and the deluxe falafel sandwich. Would recommend to anyone who's craving falafels or gyro sandwiches. The man however forgot our waters and there were no napkins outside for people who sat there so we had to grab them ourselves. This is for the Sebastopol location only. We were running erands in Sebastopol, starving and decided to pull into here two days ago to grab some lunch. What we ordered was the Falafel and the lamb kabob. First the falafel. Every bit as good as the best divey places in NYC. Took a long time to get, and we weren't thrilled about that. Possibly 12-15 minutes. But whoa! When we did get it, the food did not dissapoint. The lamb was very delicious. A little smaller than we were expecting perhaps, but we've now found our favorite little stop on the way out of Sebastopol for the forseable future. Really cool place. The owners were very gracious. My usual is the Falafel Plate because it's a wide variety of great tasting foods at a great price! Today my partner and I arrived to find a new dessert on the menu, Kanafeh. It is amazing! It's a cheese base covered in shredded phyllo dough and topped with sugar syrup and crushed pistachios, served warm, Baklava's cheesy cousin. Went on a hunt for a gyro. When I got there I decided on the chicken kabob wrap. I'm so glad I did. It was literally one of the most flavorful wraps I've ever had. Hubby had the gyro and said it was good but mine was other worldly. I will probably go back and order the same thing every time because once I find something that good, I gotta have it! A few months ago I did the "Hummus Tour" in Berlin and ever since, I have been craving the kind of excellent Falafel we had on that tour. I even bought a food processor and made some myself, I was that desperate. (which by the way, isn't that hard!) I have been searching for good falafel ever since then, and none ever live up to those I had in Berlin...Anyhow - I saw this place today and went in and GLORY HALLELUJAH it was incredible! The only thing I'd like to be different is if they had flatbread with zata'ar on it, as a side, but other than that it's really, really good. This place is so easy to find! Take Hwy 12 in and turn right by the little ice cream place and there it is, a lot of parking right in front of it. Very convenient and no stress, easy peasy. We enjoyed our meal, got two plates, the kabob and falafel. The meats for the kabobs were 2 with a meat mixture I don't know what but was cooked very well, and also a chicken kabob with spices and tender and delicious. And a great amount of hummus and a tabouli salad that was chopped so finely with parsley tomatoes onions and spices it was just delicious. Both came with pita. And baklava, was spectacular, so light and flaky and not too sweet. We found out it is homemade. Great find, lots of parking. You can see them prepare your meal, is just a spotless kitchen. A comfortable dining area that includes two of the cutest booths! The place is just decorated so nicely, with pictures on the wall and a relaxation show with pretty scenes on a screen. Gracious family that runs this restaurant. We just, really enjoyed ourselves here. As we left as our tires hit the pavement, we were discussing when to return, that's how good it is. read more

Amazing! I tell everyone about this place. Totally unassuming from the outside - in fact, my husband and I passed it up several times. The falafel are wonderful, but try the kababs and hummus with pita bread for a flavor burst. I seriously don't think there is anything bad to eat at this restaurant.
