Was craving Gyros the other night and found this place on Yelp. Stopped in for a early dinner and was not disappointed. Restaurant was empty and I did not have to wait long for a great meal. Gyros here are dank tried both the lamb and the chicken gyro along with a cup of lentil soup with pitas. Lentil soup was off the chain. One of the better made soups I've had in awhile. Chicken gyro was well-seasoned and the right portion for me to be able to finish the whole sandwich. Lamb gyro was also very delicious and was finished buy my companion. Super so good we took another one to go. Most people that came in were taking their food to go. Sitting in the dining room is definitely a different experience than I'm used to. First of all, I loved this food & this location BUT on Saturday 10-17-2020, I went in with my friend, it was her first time, and i we wanted Mediterranean food, so we arrived and my friend ordered a chicken kebab plate & I ordered a deluxe falafel sandwich, we went outside for seating, and the food was DELICIOUS!!! .....BUT i began to get stomach pains, wasn't sure why I mean, I don't eat meat or dairy but I'm in pain. As the evening went on, things got worse, the pain increased, and when I got home (I live in the east bay), all hell broke loose. The pain increased, diarrhea, vomiting, this went on from 8:30pm Saturday until Sunday 5am. I finally got to sleep at 6:30am Sunday after being unable to keep anything down, realizing I got Food Poisoned from a place I loved. read more

King Falafel is a consistently excellent choice for falafel. I can't comment on the whole menu because I love their falafel so much that I've never ordered anything else. -- At first I was put off by their style which is different than what I had been used to. They use a lavosh wrap instead of a pocket pita, and they use much less tahini, but I quickly came to love and prefer theirs. read more

Great food and amazing service!! King Falafel catered an outdoor picnic for about 55 people for us on a Saturday in early June. Everyone LOVED the food, including people who eat Mediterranean food all the time, and people who had never had it before!! The humus was super tasty and falafel just right (crispy outside, softer inside). The Fattoush salad was super healthy and delicious, as was this amazing rice dish I don't remember the name of. My personal favorite was the Chicken Kabobs; many guests also raved about the lamb gyro meat, but I can't comment as they ate it all before I could get to it (and there was a lot of it ;-) . All the other various sauces were also excellent. Also sending huge props out to the staff! Long story short, it was a week before this picnic and I found myself without a dinner plan and most other restaurants/caterers booked due to weddings and graduations. I called, and then met in person with Rafelt, who agreed to help us despite having other large catering commitments booked. He spent about 20 minutes with me showing me pictures of some of their catering options, listening to the ideas and dishes that I had in mind, and then suggesting the perfect balanced combination and variety of dishes in very appropriate quantities that ultimately left everyone full and with just a bit left over for my fridge. He also help arrange delivery about 35 minutes away. The expression "above and beyond what was required" might be overused, but it is spot-on here as we really felt they bent over backwards to provide us an excellent meal and great service. For either a quick yummy lunch (they're centrally located and easy parking) or full-on catering, King Falafel gets my highest recommendation! read more

Since my last review in 2012, King Falafel has changed hands and is as good as ever, maybe even better. My most frequent order is the Gyro with both lamb and beef, which is an excellent combination and very tasty and satifying. The Gyro Sandwich is a good portion and more than fills me. Service is good and pleasant. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality and quantity of the food. King Falafel remains a good choice for casual dining or takeout in Sebastopol. read more

Stopped in here for the first time tonight after driving by a million times. It's pretty tucked away. A hidden gem. The food here is SO GOOD, clearly prepared with love. The kebabs are so flavorful and tender, my husband said it's the best he's ever had. Everything tastes really fresh and is perfectly seasoned, and the portions are generous. We have been driving by this place for over 7 years and have never stopped. The only thing I can say to myself is WHY, this place is very lovely & nice. The dining room is open and spacious and you can see this is a family ran business. The menu is very full and they have large pictures of the plates on the menu board and the walls. It helps allot when you don't know what a falafel is, lol. The food was exceptional, we will put this on our repeat dining destination list. read more

My first time here today, and the food was delicious. The Felafel are incredibly light and flavorful, hummus perfect, nice thin pita bread, soft and delicate baba ganoush. Even a little spicy sauce and a light tahini sauce. Excellent dolmas. The people here are lovely, great energy, very kind. Sofie's falafel was quite good! Seasoned well and full of flavor. If I go back, that's what I will want. I've never been a fan of falafels because I find them generally bland... but this one was the most tasty falafel I ever tasted... though Sofie only let me have one small taste. My lamb gyro was a disappointment. I use to eat them all the time in the SF financial district - so I'm spoiled. I found it to be small, the meat and sauce lacked taste. I'd not at all recommend eating the gyro there. Our friend had the King Sampler Plate - which looked good and was appreciated. I enjoyed one of her dolmas. The sampler plate would go well with a glass of red wine... but they don't have red wine - so this might be a good "to go" item. read more

I finally found the falafel I've been looking for! From the texture of the wrap to the consistency of the falafel it brought me back to my first falafel I had outside the Moulin Rouge, in Paris!! Every bite is exciting and full of flavor! The falafel is a thicker consistency with herbal delights all over your tastebuds. The Baklava was perfect! Ordered the chicken salad & it was just ok. I actually liked the chicken but there wasn't much of it. Perhaps 2 oz? The salad mixture was basic- ice berg lettuce, bland tomatoes, pickles, onions- that being said, I was fine with it- it just lacked substance do to the minimal chicken. Husband ordered the falafel. We usually go to SF for our fav falafel at Truly Mediterranean, but decided to try this place since there aren't many falafel places in Sonoma county. We found them to be the greasiest falafel we've ever had. They were flavorful but not substantial. I had 1/2 of one and my husband had one, and our children each had one. They all said it was "fine" but wouldn't order again. I am intrigued by the menu & will go back again to try something else because I love middle eastern food and I love supporting family run businesses. read more

King Falafel is the best Mediterranean food in Sonoma county. The ultimate kabob plate is huge and I always have leftovers for a snack the next day. One time during the pandemic, I went in there for take out and I had no cash. Their credit card machine was down and lady who runs the place gave me my order and told me to come back and pay next time. It feels good to know people still have trust.
