Ordered three things: 1) marinated crabs, small size (5/5). Always a must-get here. 2) ddukbaegi bulgogi (4.5/5) - Thinly sliced prime marinated beef ribeye casserole with rice cake and glass noodle and mushroom served in a sizzling hot pot. Really flavorful and so good to have on a cold day. 3) ahjae ppyo jjim (4.5/5) - Braised prime beef meat bones in soy reduction with carrots, radish, dates, chestnut, rice cake and glass noodles. We got non-spicy. It came in a HUGE bowl. Definitely meant to be shared with a group. Took leftovers home and it was still yummy the next day mixed with knife-cut noodles I had at home.

Side dishes (fresh kimchi, radish, fish cake, and egg) were AMAZING. Had so many refills. Come here!! FOOD: Premium Soy Marinated Crab (9/10) - Insanely sweet and crab sizes are very generous. Mix the rice in the head, you won't be disappointed Soy Marinated Blue Crab (8/10) - Also really good, but crabs are a bit smaller. Still tastes great with the rice Bibingnaeng (8/10) - Really solid cold noodles with beef, pear, and cucumbers? Great way to finish off the meal.

Came on a weekday night and there weren't many people in the store. - Deluxe Gomtang - I think the difference between the normal gomtang and the deluxe version is that they give a bit more meat and rice. I really liked the gomtang as the flavors were really rich especially when elevated by the pepper. - Seolleongtang - Clear and beautiful broth that went really well with salt. I felt like the meat was not as tender as I hoped but still made me think of my favorite Korean restaurant where I grew up. - Kong-guksu - I didn't know what to expect of this dish as I've never heard of it or tried it before but I didn't really like the dish. No matter how much salt/pepper I put in, there still didn't seem to be a lot of flavor. I ended up dumping the Korean Pickled Onion banchan in which helped elevate the flavor a lot. - Mini KimchiJeon - When I read this off the menu, I though the kimchi pancake would be extremely small but it turned out to be quite bit and very delicious. It was super crispy on the outside with soft insides stuffed with kimchi. I will definitely be back to this home-y restaurant!

Decor is also authentic and minimal. There are no outrageous bells and whistles. The place has an atmosphere of that of a family business run by dedication and hard work. We opted for the $90 2 person combo which came with your choice of 3 meats. Our server helped us and recommended us to try the dry aged pork belly, pork jowl and marinated pork short rib. All of the meats were incredibly good! The pork combo also came with the fluffiest steamed egg and your choice of soup. They also gave banchan which was your typical kimchi, pickled radish, corn salad, as well as tteokbokki, pajeon, and raw marinated crab! Overall, we loved the food here. Service was amazing, our server was super attentive and helpful. He grilled all of the meats to perfection! Highly recommend coming here

That gave us enough time to have the place to ourselves and order literally everything they could think to serve us. This was easily one of the best KBBQ experiences I've had. The meat cuts were all perfectly marinated and grilled, from the Dry-Aged Pork Belly, to the tender Pork Jowl, to the juicy Marinated Pork Ribs. The Budae Jjigae was savory comfort, and the Shin Ramen Fried Rice was not only abundant, but served in an adorable heart shape. Even the Kimchi Stew and Gyeran-jjim were more umami than the countless counterparts I've had elsewhere. On top of that, we got more ban chan than an attention-starved halmoni hosting her first family reunion in 10 years. Everywhere I pointed my chopsticks, I touched food. It was delightful. If I can ever gather enough people, I'd gladly infest this place again.

I've heard it was voted one of the top 10 chicken spots in Jersey and after just one bite, I completely understand why. We ordered the chili chicken alongside the dish of kimchi fried rice, which has bacon, egg, and cheese and the combination was pure perfection. The chili chicken had that ideal, crispy, crunchy, exterior smothered, and a sweet, spicy, and sticky sauce that kept us reaching for more. Each piece was amazingly juicy on the inside without feeling greasy or overly heavy. The kimchi fried rice was equally fantastic, packed with savory, smoky flavor, and just enough to kick balance out of the meal. The portion sizes were generous, making it really easy to share everything family style. The service was warm, quick and welcoming from the moment we walked through the door. If you are a fan of authentic, perfectly executed Korean, fried chicken and comforting side dishes, this place is absolutely must visit.

And since I prefer white meat, the dry white meat parts were literally tough to swallow. The white radish was aged well, perhaps too well, so it didn't have the crisp crunch we've come to expect. There were several things these guys did well that give me hope for a possible next visit. First, the sauce for the sweet chilli chicken was on point, and theirs is the sauce-y kind which I like. One of the three sides, the rice cakes, was my favourite part of the whole meal. The rice cakes were tender and a perfect bite size, and the sauce was the right blend of sweet and spicy that doesn't hurt my stomach. The dining room is nice and open, and decor was surprisingly whimsical (pictured). The vinyl glove was a nice touch and saved me from using utensils to get meat off the bones. I'd consider going back. When I do, I expect a solid 5-star experience.

I ordered the Unagi Don Gozen ($42)- it came with a whole tray of different delicious items, with the star of the show being a generous amount of unagi (eel) over rice. The eel was cooked very well and the rice was flavorful with a bit of sweetness. There was also a small bowl of udon noodles, some sashimi, a crispy tempura shrimp in a yummy creamy sauce, flavorful edamame, mashed potato with corn, and some pickled veggies - quite the diverse array, all of which was tasty. The restaurant itself has a rather simple yet elegant Japanese wooden design. The prices suggest it's a more high end place, but the vibe is actually rather casual. The staff are very attentive and the service speed is pretty quick. Overall, I would definitely give Moru 4.5 stars if I could. I think it's great for most types of occasions, and the only reasons it's not getting 5 stars is because I do think the prices are a tad higher than I would've hoped and I think they could've done a bit more in terms of designing the place to match the price point. That being said, I still highly recommend Moru, especially for a nice lunch.

There is always a wait, and clientele is a mix of older Korean looking for taste of home (like me) and new younger crowd who knows a good thing when they taste it. We ordered, pigs feet (everyone gets it, it's their signature dish), pork neck casserole (they don't skimp, lots of meat chunks and good flavors from wild sesame), bone broth soup/grilled fish combo (also a crowd favorite) and bulgogi in broth (it pleased our finicky eater, and they served a lot of meat instead of fillers). Kimchi sides were a mix of aged deep/sour kind (right up my alley). As for other comments about the 'bland' bone broth, it's supposed to be bland and they give you a number of condiments to suit your taste. It's BYOB, so bring your beer soju or somaks and join the crowd. Priced fair and with generous portions. We will be back again.

In the corners of the dining room, there were large nets of onions, boxes of napa cabbage, dish collection trays, tin cans, and oversized plastic bags of MSG, giving the impression that little attention was paid to the atmosphere. However, my wife was disappointed with her sundae gukbap due to the poor quality of the sundae and the lingering pork odor. We had high expectations based on the strong reviews on Yelp, but ultimately decided not to return.
