We always walk by this place, and we finally decided to give it a try! We came on a Friday with 6:30pm reservations and were seated right away. As soon as they set your table, all the banchan are already waiting -- love that you can start snacking the moment you sit down! I thought they'd ask which meat set we wanted, but our server just asked if we were ready to order, so we went for it. We got brisket, galbi, pork belly, pork jowl, ribeye, and then more galbi and brisket (at some point we lost track and just kept eating ). The food itself was solid, but the service was a bit slow -- a few meats we ordered either took forever or never made it to the table. We ended up munching on banchan while waiting. We also ordered corn cheese, but it never came out... even after asking three times. By the time they brought the bill, we were like, "Umm, we're still waiting for our corn cheese!" We really wanted that dish too! They were quick to swap our grill early on, but later when things slowed down, it kind of felt like they were trying to wrap us up. The server asked if we were still grilling, and when we said yes, he said he'd bring a new grill -- but never did. Instead, he came back with the bill. That was our sign that maybe we shouldn't stuff ourselves! Overall, the food satisfied our KBBQ craving, but service could've been smoother. We'd come back if we were in the area and wanted something convenient, but probably wouldn't go out of our way for it.

Solid AYCE in Sunset! Came for dinner around 8 pm and was able to find street parking nearby, just had to walk a little. Upon arrival Kogi was busy, but we were seated right away! Opted for the Kogi Special which was $44.99/ pp. It's a small establishment and tables are seated a little close, but doesn't take way from the experience. Banchan was already prepared as we were seated. They were all good, but I favored the kimchi, japchae, and pickled radish slices. For the meats, we ordered the same each round. We had Spicy beef bulgogi, Marinated Galbi, Pork belly, and Short ribs. They went well with the sauces that they had! Forgot to ask our server what the red sauce was but it was sweet and the other was t crack sauce which had a little kick to it! The sides we ordered were really good too! I was surprised to see Spicy Tteokbokki on the menu as most AYCE KBBQ places do not offer that. It wasn't too spicy and loved how soft the rice cakes were. We also ordered the Corn cheese and it wasn't your usual corn cheese, I think there were bell pepper pieces and it added more flavor! Service was great. Despite there being 3 servers tending to full tables, our server checked in on us frequently, making sure our grills were changed, fulfilling our orders, and requests. Saving this spot for next time :)

Came here at 5:30 on a Monday and surprisingly was able to easily find street parking. It wasn't busy at all, so we got seated right away. We opted to do the $44pp option. You get banchan as you're seated, and they were all decent/pretty good. I really liked the pickled veggies, and the japchae was also a favorite of the table. The radish slices were also super delicious, and I got a few more refills of this throughout the night because it paired really well with the meats. I'm not the best person to speak on quality of meat, but I enjoyed pretty much all our meats! The brisket is a classic, but delicious! I'm not a fan of beef bulgogi at most AYCE places, but it was my favorite here. Not too sweet, and it was super tender and not too chewy which is what I run into at most spots. The sides at Kogi Gogi might be equally as delicious as all the meats. I loved the variety, something that you don't see too often at KBBQ places. We got the egg soufflé, sweet and spicy rice cakes and cheese corn, and they were all delicious. The service here was amazing! Our server was super quick with taking our order, despite him being the only one serving everyone (at least it looked like it). Our grill was changed without us asking, and our table was filled with food the whole night. This spot is definitely a lot smaller than other KBBQ places I've been at, but probably my favorite that I've had in the city. Definitely recommend for an indulgent, casual dinner with friends or family! I will be back

they seat bigger parties before any small parties so they can guarantee their service tips. The place has music playing and is lively. The food is mid as well. be a big party to get seated fast and if youre desperate for some kbbq this place might taste good.

Kogi Gogi is an ok AYCE KBBQ spot in the city. The meat quality was fine, the dishes on the signature menu were good (except the steamed egg seemed a little overcooked), and the banchan was nice. My friends and I just did the special menu ($44.99) and ordered a Watermelon Soju Cocktail ($27), which totaled to around $265 with tax and tip. Thought it was pretty pricey (even without the cocktail) compared to other restaurants. The service was ok. I think they may be understaffed because there were some times where they'd forget to bring what we'd ask for, so we'd have to wait a bit or ask again. Also, not sure if this just depends on the group size, but a service fee is already automatically included in the bill. As for the wait, we went on a Friday night around 6:30 pm and there was luckily none, so we were seated right away. It's also a pretty tight space inside given it's in SF, but they're able to seat a good amount of inside.

With the exception of tough parking in the area, Kogi Gogi is a real gem. While the era of $30 and under AYCE KBBQ is gone, Kogi Gogi is still quite competitive in the area with their prices - especially when their basic menu is really expansive. Their bone in ribs and Galbi are really good, but what really makes them stand out is the amazing Beef Tongue they serve. I'd definitely return with friends again here!

This is probably one of the few AYCE kbbq places in the sunset district. I am entirely satisfied. First off, the staff and service is some top tier stuff. They were attentive, understanding, and handsome. The place is a bit Smokey which got my lungs reminiscent of college; otherwise, cool bbq spot. The food was good. Though I was not too impressed with the quality of the pork belly, the variety and quality of the other proteins made this place a top bussin option to return to. Bonchon got me smackin my lips fasho

    Fluffy eggs, Corn cheesy side

Me and my wife stoped here after visiting the Japanese tea garden! We got quickly welcomed and seat, we got 5 dish to star and were delicious, after a quick change of grill from the staff, we went w second round of dishes, the corn side dish was super tasty, but what stand out to us was the fried calamari, they were stunning and tasteful ( I'm still dreaming about that calamari ) , little gem in the sunset district! We definitely enjoyed ourselves in this place and we will be back!!

Came here on may 1 at 6:00pm: got seated very quickly. Staff wasn't very talkative but they are so fast. Service was so amazing. Food came out so fast and we constantly got grill changes without even asking. That's the type of service that makes this place a five star. Meat was great and side dishes were amazing! Came from San Jose and would definitely drive up for the amazing service and food.

Kogi Gogi BBQ is a popular Korean barbecue spot in SF, and used to be home to one of my favorite smokeless grill restaurants, Ke's Seafood BBQ. They had a pretty unique structure and emphasis on seafood, which I imagine led to their downfall. While we're in memory lane, I miss when back in the day, it was like $20-25/pp to eat here. After the pandemic, it's about $50/pp to eat here?! It looks like they recently updated the menu with a lower priced option that has a smaller selection during limited times, which is nice. You are given banchan which consist of cucumber, bean sprouts, fishcake, radish, japchae, broccoli, radish wrap, kimchi, and green beans, in addition to a small salad per person that has a sweet vinaigrette. We like requesting bean paste (theirs is pretty savory and smooth), garlic, and lettuce. Good * Side menu is pretty extensive and some items are great, such as the bibimbop, potstickers, steamed egg hot pot, and corn cheese. * Prime short ribs are amazing - I love sucking on the bone. * Pork belly is thin cut and pretty much tastes like bacon. * Also good are beef tongue, beef rib finger meat, and beef large intestines (fresh, cleaned, juicy, fatty). * Soju cocktails, though artificially flavored, were a hit. Large is more than enough for a table of 4 lightweights and comes with cold shotglasses. Fresh fruit soju cocktails are even more delicious, but serve less and are expensive. * Grilling the fresh pineapple at the end of the meal is amazing. Bad * The marinated meats tend to be too salty or sweet, like there's TOO much flavor, including the LA galbi and bulgogi - I do not want to touch the beef bulgogi ever again, as it's also scrappy. * Some side items are too salty, such as the soups. * Tteokbokki sauce is off, and could have used something to balance the fermented taste of the kimchi, though the rice cakes themselves were nicely chewy and thick. * It's a little cramped and loud with K-pop music videos playing on the television screens. * It's super cancer to find parking in this area, good luck. Overall, Kogi Gogi BBQ is a solid KBBQ place, though they don't really have competition in the sunset. In terms of the bay area, I've definitely had both worse and better, so I'll make do if I'm in this area!

What better way to end the weekend than with KBBQ? I went back specifically for the corn cheese and pineapple and happy to say, they were as good as before. We stuck to brisket, thinly sliced pork belly, and spicy pork bulgogi for the meats. Can recommend getting the oyster mushroom and mussels but not the clams - too small to be worth it. Place felt somewhat understaffed but they provided friendly service. They readily took our orders for more items and regularly changed the grill without asking. Great selection of banchan - the pickled dishes helped us grill longer!

10/10, 5 stars, so amazing. We went on a Sunday evening around 5:30-6pm and it was quite busy with a few parties ahead of us, but it was well worth the wait. We got spicy beef bulgogi, marinated galbi, garlic chicken, and ribeye. I would definitely recommend choosing marinated meats as the bulgogi and galbi were our favorites, but I also really enjoyed the other two using the provided dipping sauces. All the sides were really tasty as well and we also got the corn cheese because duh and it was delicious. We waited for a bit when we arrived due to them being so busy, but I took that as a sign the food would be really good and I was right. Once we were seated, we received prompt service the entire meal getting drink refills and more entree options. All of the wait staff was extremely kind and continuously checked on us the whole time to see if we needed anything else. Very, very good

Once you step through the doors, however, you're greeted by a space that feels both cozy and contemporary, with an effortlessly stylish atmosphere. Even the restroom was thoughtfully designed and remarkably comfortable--a small detail, but one that speaks to the restaurant's overall attention to detail. We began with the Uni Scallop Toast and Mulhwe as appetizers. As someone who is typically not a fan of uni due to its pronounced brininess, I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed the toast. The bright citrus sauce balanced the richness of the uni beautifully, while the contrasting textures from the crisp toast and delicate scallop created a harmonious bite. The scallop also helped mellow the stronger oceanic notes of the uni. It was a creative and memorable dish unlike anything I've had before. The Mulhwe, a Korean-style fish salad, was dressed in a refreshing apple vinaigrette that gave it a light, summery citrus character. The fish itself had a pleasantly chewy texture--firmer than salmon--with no trace of fishiness. While enjoyable, it didn't leave quite the same impression as the uni toast and was my least favorite dish of the evening. For our entrées, we ordered the Galbi Steak and Pork Jowl Bossam. Both dishes showcased exceptional execution. The meats were cooked perfectly, but what stood out even more was the precision in preparation. The steak was expertly sliced and incredibly tender--so much so that even with braces, it was effortless to enjoy. The pork jowl achieved an ideal balance between lean meat and luscious fat, creating a rich yet satisfying bite. We enjoyed the meal so much that dessert was non-negotiable. The Matcha Tiramisu was a creative interpretation of the classic. A dome of mascarpone cheese encased ladyfinger biscuits at its center, accompanied by a vibrant matcha ganache sauce. The dessert leaned far less sweet than traditional tiramisu, allowing the earthy matcha and creamy mascarpone flavors to shine. It was elegant, balanced, and a wonderful way to end the meal. Lastly, the service was outstanding. Our server was soft-spoken, patient, and genuinely attentive throughout the evening, making the experience feel warm and welcoming. Considering the quality of the food, thoughtful presentation, ambiance, and service, I found the pricing to be completely justified. As a pleasant surprise, I later learned that Bansang is part of the same restaurant group behind Daeho--a detail that certainly explains the level of quality we experienced.

The toast, scallops, and uni were all served at the same temperature, and the sauce was barely noticeable, adding little to the dish. A contrast in temperature, texture, or a more pronounced sauce would have made it much more enjoyable. The Scallop & Shrimp Salad was overly sweet, which overpowered the delicate flavors of the seafood. The Chicken Wings were decent, but at 4 wings for $18, they felt overpriced. The Mushroom Silk Tofu was beautifully presented and visually appealing. The Black Cod was cooked perfectly--moist, tender, and flaky. However, while the fish itself was excellent, the sauce was forgettable and didn't leave a lasting impression or elevate the dish. Overall, the food was mediocre. While each dish had potential, the flavors often felt disconnected and lacked harmony. Combined with the expensive price point, the overall dining experience didn't justify the cost. The ambiance is lovely, but I left hoping for a more memorable meal. Wouldn't come back.

Granted we were a bit late for our reservation, we ended up having to wait another 30-40 mins. The place (2nd floor) is small & awkward. You can also feel whenever the table next to us got up and stomped/yelled/moved in their chairs-- which was really often. The basic AYCE menu is fairly limited-- esp for the side options. The server/manager also told us that he had accidentally brought out 2 bottles of soju for us and that he'd COMP 1 bottle. We didnt notice that he had actually charged us for 2 and comped/subtracted a "third" one. So none were really comped at all. I just realized after we paid and that felt really sketchy. He let us substitute the white rice for fried rice and cashew chicken for lemon chicken that we wanted. Boy was it a real treat. We added a chicken chow mein and we weren't disappointed. All in all, we came out stuffed with leftovers, and great service to boot. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time which was surprising, how great the food and service were. Come here and you won't regret it!

The food is excellent to okay, but the service is first rate. Once seated, we were offered a couple of complimentary dishes - kimchi and soup. Their food is decent and their service is great. Every table has white linen, even for lunch hour crowd. The price is awesome - the lunch menu includes a starter, a soup, and a hot pot of tea. (4.75 of 5) Kimchi: This complimentary dish is an excellent start before our lunch order. The delicious taste of tangy, savory, spicy, and sour, together with a complex, pungent, and, crunchy profile is the perfect start before our lunch selection. Its fermented cabbage has a strong, aromatic notes of garlic, ginger, and chili powder, which marries perfectly with our set lunch. (4.5 of 5) Soup: The soup of the day is a mild clear soup with bits of prawns and vegetables. This is lovely when paired with the boisterous kimchi. (4 of 5) Our orders from their Lunch Special: Vegetable Deluxe: A great selection of vegetables, though they're mostly semi-done to near raw. The wontons were really good though. (3 of 5) Broccoli Chicken: The chicken pieces are tender and the broccoli in this dish is cooked well. (4.5 of 5) Braised Tofu: This is my top dish. It's flavour-packed in a savoury, aromatic sauce. The tender, chewy texture acts like a sponge, absorbing the deeply flavourful sauce. Superb! (5 of 5)

The wait for the dish was almost 25 mins but all worth it !The complimentary soup and banchan were huge and alright. The servers know what they were doing but one minor thing about my experience was that the waitress served a really really hot dish at her convenience and I had to move it to the center for sharing. Since they're busy they expect you to finish your meal, pay and go.

This is my wife's favorite SF Korean restaurant, so I am glad that she was able to join me on this trip. Actually, my guest was the one that requested Korean today. LOL. Today, my guest ordered the following: Soft Tofu Soup - Complimentary. Now this has the most flavor of all the dishes. It also came out piping hot, see picture. Seafood Pancake - Overall good, I appreciate the precut slices, thanks. Makes eating and dividing easier. Marinated Chicken - Decent portions, tender, etc. But with minimum flavor. Broiled Fish, Broiled Mackerel - My guest loves fish, but she did not eat too much of this. So more food to bring back to the house for her. Stir-Fried Vermicelli - Good, but you can almost not mess this up. Actually, I make a pretty good Japchae. :) Banchan - 9 options; good variety and with decent to generous portions. Actually, all the dishes came out steaming, piping hot, and fresh. If you do not like spicy food, this is the place for you. Most, if not all, dishes including the banchan are not spicy. Atmosphere - Good size local restaurant. Table or booth seating. Private room in the back available. Hibachi style dining available. 2 clean bathrooms. See picture. Open 5 days a week from 11am to 8pm or 9pm, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Street parking, it was not too bad. I got a space a few blocks away. Service - 3 stars. The owner is typically friendly but did not greet us today?!?! One waitress was extremely more professional than the other. I think the other waitress was in a bad mood?!?! It was not easy asking for stuff, tea refills, water, utensils, more banchan, etc. Price - $120 + tip. Reasonably priced for Korean food, especially because my guest will get another meal out of it from all our leftovers. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since...??? I have been coming here for 20+ years. Maybe 30+ years...? Or am I outdating myself...
