beef Short Rib Bowl
Evan W.

Overall this was a pretty good Koja Kitchen location, especially as a food court spot - I've had some misses a lot in the past with food court spots. The short rib bowl was pretty good, with decent serving sizes - the meat was a little too sweet for my liking though. The chicken salad was amazing though - the option isn't on their signs or online, but if you go through the kiosk, you can customize a salad. We got a southwest style salad with fried chicken (other options are smoked chicken, grilled chicken etc) I've never heard of koja serving non asian salads before! Anyhow, good food court option! Everything is self serve, you order through a kiosk and pick up the order. There's a food court area to eat your food which can be a bit loud or you can go to the balcony.

Was in valley fair and craving some Korean food, and Koja was the closest thing I could find. It's a fast food chain that specializes in Korean fusion! It was a busy wait in line and for the food, as it was on a Sunday afternoon during peak lunch hours. It took about a 15 minute wait overall for our order come in of fries and tacos. The fries tasted frozen and could have been cooked more. Flavor was there, but the heat was not... The tacos looked appetizing, but the meat wasn't too flavorful, just lots of sauce on the tacos itself which made it overwhelming. Would come here again but would order different items...

We got the pulled pork burger and the bulgogi burger. The pork one had a mayo sauce w arugula that was so good and the crispy rice patties were perfectly crunchy and chewy. The bulgogi was a bit too sweet and didn't taste like traditional bulgogi at all... just sweet meat... but still ok. Both were pretty overpriced so not sure if I would get again but the staff was nice and the food came out quick

Veggie Zen Bowl + fried egg

Honestly the veggie zen bowl + fried egg was pretty good! Definitely surpassed expectations. The soy/mushroom patty that is the meat substitute in this dish was very moist and had great umami flavor! The bowl came with a lot of rice but half of the rice was soaked in soy/teriyaki sauce + egg yolk so it was delicious. Good option that left me feeling full and also feeling like I made a healthy choice, which is always great!

Whenever I'm craving for a different taste, something that will lift my mood, I always go to Koja Kitchen. I usually order their tacos. But today I tried their Koja. I like their Korean twist on Tacos. Zen Taco is my favorite, paired with their crosscut fries. Today I finally tried their Koja rice bun. It's not my favorite texture-wise. But it's something different to try. This will remain one of my dependable go-to at the Valley Fair Food Court. The chicken meat was tasty and flavorful. It's a little bit spicy.

Good food at the mall when you're craving some nice bbq spare ribs and rice. Good portions and very fresh tasting. Not overly saucy and made to order.

Bulgogi Bun Burger

Inside valley fair mall food court. I wish this was better! I got the classic bulgogi burger. The meat was pretty good, little over done but flavor was great. Still chewable and juicy. Lettuce got a bit wilted from heat of everything. The "buns" are made of crispy rice!! It looked so good. But the rice was hard and difficult to eat. Such a bummer. The concept is cool. I would be willing to try a bowl version next time. The service to order was quick and friendly. Food took a bit. But they were busy

Line was short. Ordering was easy, in person or online. Food came out quickly. Staff very friendly.

Veggie bowl with portobello mushroom soy patty

My boyfriend and I were across the street enjoying the Winchester Mystery house and were so hungry we decided to go to the mall across the street to find food. The line for Joeys restaurant was two hour wait so we went to the food court which I don't usually do, but I came across Kohl's kitchen and the food on the menu looked interesting to me. I ordered the veggie rice bowl with soy bean mushroom patty and was very pleased by the taste. There are never many vegan options, this was pure luck and so flavorful. I asked to not have the egg on my bowl to keep it vegan. The restaurant looked very clean and I felt healthier eating their food over any other in that food court, kind staff working too.

First time to put my yelp review but we have tried their food several times. This time we ordered the original koja, love the rice bun,it has a different crisp compared to regular bun, korean bbq boneless short ribs is so good delicious, just a right combination of sweetness and a little sourness from the vinaigrette ,one order is big enough for me and hubby.

Another one of the Asian food spots I go to at Valley Fair mall. Koja kitchen is Korean Japanese fusion food. Simple and delicious. I usually just get a beef bowl. It has beef and rice with veggies and kimchee. Good for a light lunch. Good thing about this place is the line doesn't get too long like some of the other places in the food court. Usually only 1 or 2 people in line whenever I go there. So you can get there food right away without too much of a wait. Highly recommend.

Chicken Rice Bowl

Had a chance to try Koja Kitchen yesterday at the Valley Fair mall and this was actually really yummy. This is located in the food court and if you are looking for burgers, fries or bowls this is a good place for you. This is a Korean Fusion inspired restaurant so if you are looking for that kind of food, you have found your place! For our order we got: * Chicken rice bowl: this was really good, it came with rice, juicy pieces of chicken (loved the marination), kimchi and salad. Overall it was really good and enjoyed every bite of this! * Fries (pulled pork ones) - I forgot the name but I always enjoy the coconut pulled pork and the sauce this comes with. This was very flavorful. Overall, my husband and I really enjoyed both dishes and would go back again!

Chose to eat here while we were at the mall. There was no real wait and the food was ready pretty fast. The portions are on the smaller side. The musubi was meh, I'd pass. The umami fries were decent. The short rib bowl had an odd flavor and texture? Wouldn't pick this with some many other options in the future but it was fine for lunch.

I love the food! I hesitate to give 5 stars. Uses it's pretty pricey for food court/food truck food. Flavors are out of the world wild.

The broth is the best part, you can season it to your own taste but the base itself is already pretty great! Very savory. And the plus is that they give free yakult at the end when you pay so it's a cute lil free sweet treat to enjoy!

The meat was juicy, fatty, and flavorful with a little hint of smokiness that completed the experience that I desire from beef. The 해물 파전 isn't made conventionally. It has this beautiful crispy top that adds a new dimension to the experience. The 잡채 wasn't as plentiful as I would've liked but it doesn't matter since it functions as an appetizer to the rest of the meal. The 된장찌개 was yummy for someone who hasn't tried it before. I should also mention that the complimentary side dishes includes raw marinated crab which was absolute heaven. Squeeze it like a toothpaste bottle and the juicy crab comes right out. One of my friends is a big eater (just a beefier human in general), so we decided to get an extra order of 눈꽃살. If I were to order again for the same group of friends (4 people total), I would order 해물 파전, 돌솥 비빔밥, 청담 갈비, 양념갈비, and 눈꽃살. I think its close to the amount of food that we ordered, but a little more affordable and some (superior) substitutions. The staff was friendly and efficient which was fantastic. I got to meet the owner/manager, he seems like a kind and friendly gentleman. I want to come back more often for the 해물 파전 and 양념갈비. I made this review to express my excitement over this restaurant and for my future reference.

We had high hopes, but the meat was very disappointing. We came early when it wasn't busy at all (we were basically the second table), so it wasn't a rush issue. On the positive side, the ambiance is nice and I really liked their unique banchan selection. Because of the meat quality and the high prices for what we got, I won't be coming back. There are way too many better options in the area to spend that kind of money for two people.

I will say service was a little scattered brained when we ate here though. They forgot one of our orders and we had to flag them down, a few times to get it to us.
