Awful service, spent over an hour waiting and they turned us away saying "the kitchen wants to stop". What's that even supposed to mean?

Amazing rich authentic ramen. Very friendly staff. Options I've never seen. A must dine.

It's really a 3.5 for me. I had the chicken soup ramen and my boyfriend had the regular pork soup base. His ramen tastes better than mine. I also had the fried chicken bits, which wasn't good enough: there's no flavor besides the saltiness. I like they have sesame on the table for you to add. I boost the rating mainly because I like the decoration and there's potential for this place. read more

This place has fucken shitty service. Cheap shitty people. The ramen was bland. The water taste like hot dog water. The chopsticks had stains on them. When we asked for extra lollipops they said 1 per person. Like they owned the lollipops or something. I have kids at home that couldn't make it to the restaurants and wanted to surprise them with lollipops BUT these people didn't wouldn't give me an extra lollipop. They forced me to give them a 20% tip. They said if I were to use a debit card they will charge extra. I will never return to this place EVER again. Thank u bye. read more

I find most of the good ramen places are mostly in downtown and not well scattered in the city. If you live in the Victoria Street area and need a ramen fix, this place is a good place to check out. Got their spicy ramen -lots of broth and not very much noodles (extra noodles $1.50 which is average). Spice level was average or maybe the fact that I have a higher spice tolerance that it was alright. The cost is slightly higher for what it is. If you want a good decent bowl, travel the distance. Overall average but wouldn't be my last visit. read more

Came on the weekend with my family, we had no reservation so half an hour waiting, that was fine. We ordered some ramens ( no gyoza, ice cream ... on the menu). 10m waited after ordered, ramens came out. My soup was so salted, my sister's soup was so creamy , my brother's soup was no taste and only my mom's soup was fine. Very interesting !!! Anyway, services were good. read more

This was the worst ramen place I ever been. Where should I start? So going in there I already don't have much expectation but coming out was a total disappointment. After we've been seated (next to the window near the front entrance), first thing we noticed was how dirty the window sill. Then we started hearing these zapping sound and figured out they placed an insect zapper device by the entrance and it was zapping every minute, so imagine how many insects were in the shop. We ordered their lunch special tonkatsu rice set $18 and a shio tonkatsu ramen $13.50 (suppose to be their recommended ramen). Waited for the food for a long time and no one offered any water so we had to ask them. But also waited for the water for a long time. The moment the food came out, we were so disappointed. First of all, the price they charge are around the same as the downtown ramen shops but the quality not even close. Tonkatsu wasn't fresh, the salad lack of dressing, and side dish was gross. Ramen had no flavour except being oily. Throughout the meal, we saw so many food flies crawling on the table, went into our food, and our drinks. I understand it's common to have food flies in restaurants, but flies all over the place was not acceptable at all. When we asked for the bill, they even gave us the wrong bill and we had to correct them. Overall, service was slow even when not much customers were there. Quality was bad and not authentic. The interior was nice and clean. They served hot/warm water on a rainy day. I probably could have asked for some cold water but whatever. Ramen whole was eh. Noodles itself were decent. The spicy tonkotsu had a little spicy with a sriracha sauce drizzle on top. The meat felt chewy. After eating, it upset my stomach within 10 minutes of finishing. the candy at the end was a pass and I had to spit it back out thinking it was a mint. Overpriced. All-in, without Groupon, $80! For 3 bowls of noodles, 3 side dishes. Charge for tea. That's just silly. Never returning.

My friend was carving something "noodlely" so we ended up at Kokoro Ramen. I ordered the Very Veggie Ramen, it's not what I thought...even after reading the description (smooth & hearty vegetable stock infused w/ Japanese kombu, shitake mushroom & creamy coconut milk). Now according to the picture on the menu the soup is orange. Basically the soup tastes like pumpkin, sort of on the sweet side. I didn't taste the kombu (kelp) or the shitake mushroom at all. I didn't really enjoy it all that much. I wouldn't order it again. Anyway, neither myself or my friend were really satisfied with our meal and we were both still hungry. We both ordered the Seafood Zuke Don. I really wish I took a picture. It wasn't....great. It was 2 pieces of salmon and 2 pieces of tuna atop of some salad and sushi rice. The tuna was the worst (which is why I wish I took a pic). Whoever sliced it, sliced it wrong (like along the grain). Now I'm no sushi chef but I know when you bite into a piece you shouldn't see the sinew or whatever it's called. So I wouldn't order that again either. People seem to like this place... Service is good and our server was pleasant. It's just the food isn't all that great. At least the choices I made weren't not great. Maybe the other ramen options are better???? It was an alright ramen experience. Great interior, comfortable seating and not too busy so you can actually sit and chat. I prefer legitimate Japanese ramen joints where you would see the ramen being cooked, but this place doesn't have that. Food quality was alright. Nothing outstanding, noodles had no texture they were a little on the soft side, not chewy. It almost felt pre-cooked as it wasn't hot when it was brought out, it was just warm. Definitely not legitimate ramen, lacked flavour in the broth. Service was okay, not great but not bad. They charge $1.50 for tea, would've appreciated if staff told us BEFORE they brought us the tea that it'd be extra. Not a big deal but it's a nice practice. Price was also on the pricey side, definitely would rather go to other ramen places for this price. (~$14 for miso ramen with egg before tips and tax) read more

Great place for ramen. The meat soup is just right, not too salty or too bland. They have veggie options and the broth tastes great as well. They have several delicious options for desserts like creme brulee or pana cotta. Service was friendly, polite and attentive. The restaurant seems to be in very good shape. Got the miso ramen and spicy tonkotsu shoyu ramen. Both were quite flavorful. Probably the best tasting ramen in the area. The egg was done perfectly (not over cooked). I would have to agree that it is a bit on the pricy side. The chicken karaage was good as well, and not drenched in batter. Good service and experience overall. read more

One of the worst ramen places by far and I've been to many! Came with some friends, one was vegetarian and they said the were out of the veggie ramen! The one that rarely gets ordered! They offered to give my friend some rice and cold veggies on top drizzled with soy sauce. Are you kidding me??!! I order the miso ramen that took 30 min and when they brought it, half the toppings were missing! I asked why didn't they come with the toppings and the server said it's all there. I specially asked to have mine with egg, and as advertised it showed a piece of nori which was also missing. I got two small pieces of meat and the picture clearly shows 3 averaged sized pieces. The server had a hard time understanding my issue partly because of language barrier. You work in Canada! Learn the language! They also got my other friends order wrong by bringing her pork instead of chicken. They blamed the errors on a mixed up in the kitchen with the orders. Lastly, the food itself is not good. It just tasty too salty and for some reason the broth was extremely oily. Also, notice the cook at the back handle the food with bare hands and then run his fingers through his hair. Beyond disgusting. Will not be back here again. This place will not last long. Bet that! read more

I have been here 5 times in total and every previous time, I thought the Ramen was average with no issuse. I like Santouka, Jinya, Kintoro, Benkie and Marutama much better. The only reason why I come here occasionally is because it's so close to where I live. Today when I went in for spicy tonkotsu ramen, the pork chashu tasted spoiled. It tasted like it had been in the fridge too long or sitting in the counter for too long. I don't even expect it to be hot, just warm from the hot soup but I do expect it to be fresh with no slight sour smell or taste. Needless to say I will never be going back there again and from the lack of customer, I can tell this place is going downhill. So disappointing since I live so close. read more

Kokoro has the best ramen in Vancouver! We've been everywhere, including Hong Kong, and this place is great. The broth is rich and flavourful (no msg), the staff are friendly and personable and the atmosphere is modern and trendy. read more

Overpriced for what you get. I feel like the portions are very small, and also not as tasty as other ramen places. The prices are around $15 which I personally think is expensive for a small bowl of ramen. This is the most authentic ramen house I have been to in Vancouver. The ramen was very tasty and they actually have fresh minced garlic to order as they do in Japan. The interior was a nice wood theme, Very clean and the service was great. Definitely my new fave spot in town. If you enjoy authentic Japanese food then I highly recommend Kokoro. read more

I had the healthy choice of Creamy chicken ramen and Shashimi salad. My companion had the Kokoro Tonkotsu Shoyu ramen with a latte drink. I love the decor and enjoyed the meals and experience. What is great for us is that the restaurant is open and not closed between 3-5pm on Saturday. read more

Hands down the best service I've ever had. They attended to their guests very well by constantly asking if we're okay and immediately refilling our drinks the moment our cups seem slightly half-empty. We're new to Vancouver and the owner's wife gave us a complimentary Japanese float and showed us how it works. Everyone was so kind even though it was after their closing hours. She and the other workers also recommended to us some fun attractions and places around the city. She even ran to the door to say goodbye to us when we left. Really recommend to come here and check out their amazing service. We're definitely coming back when we're back in the area. read more

Hi, I visited this place about a 2 weeks ago, for the first time, Kokoros location appeared to be great at the corner of 41st and Victoria, Once inside , the place looked good , however not Japanese traditional, the host was really friendly and that is why I gave this place 2 stars, cause I was seated quickly and courteously, unfortunately, when it came to menu knowledge , she was some what lost, I ended up ordering the spicy ramen choice, was I ever wrong, extremely salty, and when I asked for tea, was told of a 1.50 dollar charge for a cup of green tea, and I thought that was inappropriate, since nobody charges for tea, specially if the ramen is too salty, any how , I told the waitress, and she said that the ramen noodles are usually salty and she offered to add hot water to my soup, to which I said no thanks, I told her that I have tried ramen noodles before and they were not so salty, any ways I told her to tell the chef not to add so much salt or spicy seasoning, but still was charged full price even though I did not finish this nightmare . don't eat here never, also too expensive, and the restroom was filthlhy read more
