Alright! This place is the best buffet for people staying on budget but still want to enjoy buffet scene. Quality of food is decent. Of course, its better than school cafeterias and some food trucks. Some lacks flavors. I would stay away sushi bar since there were limited options and the salmon sashimi looked fatty compared to where i used to go. Why complaint too much while you look for cheap deals? You already imagine how it would be. As long as they dont have any hygienic issue or low check points from stateboard, im good to go. I've been to this buffet many times over the years, unfortunately my family firmly will go for price over quality. And that might be the only decent thing about this buffet. For starters the restaurant is okay, decor is the usual I would say for a buffet. Although, the chairs at the tables are so close you can't get out unless the other people behind you scoot in or get out as well. Most of the plates were not clean 100% you could see food residue still on them. The spoons and forks have questionable marks on them either calcium from the water or again old food residue. I stayed away from the sushi this time around since the last time I recall to have some browning and a non-fresh taste to them. The ice cream section being self serve is a nice thing but with it BEING self serve let's it be vulnerable to cross contamination from patron to patron. Overall the rating here on yelp is closer to what it actually is versus the one on google. Overall if you like somewhat bang for your buck and barely flavorful food that will give you a full feeling BUT NOT a satisfying full feeling, then this place is for you. First thing that comes to mind when I think of Komi is VALUE. You can't beat this price for what you get. My grandma really loves dinner here- snow crab, fried crab, sushi, sashimi, oysters, and an overall decent selection for $13 per person! Weekends can get busy if you go during dinner rush, but definitely still worth it. If you want snow crab legs (which I love), you may have to wait for it. They only bring out a handful at a time and people here tend to grab platefuls so that there's never any left for everyone else. read more

Price is cheap (less than $15/person) plus they give senior discount for elderly customers. They have variety of food choices. Food tastes overall slightly below average. Most items are on the dried side. Fruits do not look very fresh and the pastries are dried too. They do have lots of ice cream choices. Tried Komi Buffet on a whim last night, and I took a tour before I committed to eating there. Several items looked decent, so for $12.99 i decided to try it... what could go wrong? (nothing did) I liked the egg rolls, the baked mussels, the sushi rolls were just ok, the sashimi wasn't pretty, but it tasted fine. The fried crab legs were ok actually, but most of the meat was really dry inside.... I tried the broccoli beef (not bad). I would maybe give it a try on a Saturday afternoon, but overall good value, lots of selections, didn't try the Mongolian BBQ, may try that next time. I would classify myself as one of the un-pickiest eaters out there. The only things I don't enjoy eating are oysters/mussels/clams, but can eat them if they're prepared a certain way. I pretty much eat anything from cafeteria food to high end steak houses. So my wife and I received a grand opening flyer in our mail box last week. We decide to give this place a try since the price seemed right and the flyer was somewhat convincing. This restaurant is located what was once Hometown Buffet a long while back. We arrived around 5PM with my wife, parents, and sister. We were seated immediately and asked what drinks we wanted to order. We order our drinks and head over to fill our plates. This is where everything just goes downhill. I peruse the different dishes and it's pretty much a panda express, but shittier with some sushi options. I go back to my table to eat the food and it was just okay. I was hungry. When I'm hungry, even mediocre food is delicious to me. This was just okay. Everything was just greasy and slimy. The food just didn't taste that great. I didn't finish the plate. I go back for seconds and wanted to try the "teppanyaki" that they so advertised on the flyer. It was the most confusing thing there. It looks like mongolian bbq that you get at the mall. They have a sign that says to use the meats on a different plate. Huh? I just put them on top of the vegetables and noodles since they were all going to be cooked together anyway. So I stand there holding my plate and both the cooks behind the glass don't even acknowledge me. I try to get their attention to ask where I should bring the plate. They just ignore me. So I walk around to the other side still holding my plate and try to get his attention. Still get ignored. He starts plopping plates of cooked noodles onto the ledge that wraps around the counter. There are other people waiting and no one knew which plate was theirs. He then grabs my plate of uncooked vegetables and meat and throws it on the grill, but places the meat on another grill. SO I guess they don't cook the meat with the noodles. Really confusing. He then places the cooked noodles on a plate and again places it on the ledge. I'm like, "where's the meat?" He ignores me. Then after a bit he tells me to pick it up on the other side. So I walk over and the other guy just plops a plate of meat, which could have been meat for another customer. The process and the way that station runs is so disorganized, I would just avoid it entirely. So I bring back my plate of noodles and what appeared to be the meat I chose, and sit down to eat it. It was just gross. The meat tasted like it was aged beef under a fat man's ass. It just tasted like old meat. No bueno. The noodles and vegetables tasted okay, nothing to rave about. Now for the dessert. All the fruits they offered were canned fruit. The watermelon was warm and the pineapple was shriveled. The cookies were just laid out in the open in a basket and half of them were broken. This place is just sad. The service? The employees appear to be mute. They don't say a damn word when you ask them for anything or take your plates. And the drinks? My damn cup was pretty much empty, but not a single employee who walked by multiple times to take plates, took it upon their leisure to fill the cup or let someone else know that we needed refills. Also, they decided to bring the check even while my parents were still eating their food. WTF guys?!?! At least if your food stinks, have some good service. I can't see this place staying in business long until they literally fix every aspect of this restaurant. The only thing going for this place was the cheap price, and you get what you pay for rings true with this establishment. DO NOT EAT HERE, I REPEAT DO NOT EAT!!! I never write reviews on Yelp but I will write this review just to warn others. Before I come off as overly dramatic, let me explain why I gave this place a one star. So my mom got a flyer in the mail showing this place and we decided to give it a try (since it was both inexpensive and I was craving some good seafood). I was feeling spontaneous to try something new so the thought of checking for the reviews on Yelp didn't cross through my mind. Boy, do I regret that. -Ambience: the atmosphere was decent. It seemed pretty clean and spacious and there were a good amount of TVs mounted on the wall to keep customers entertained. We got sat at the booth closest to the restroom on the far left hand side of the buffet. -Seating: It was not busy at all so we immediately got seated. -Service: It was decent, but one thing I want to mention is the fact that the waiters were just standing around and talking to each other waiting for something to happen. I understand if there's no work to do, but is it necessary to have a hang out spot right next to our booth?? My mom and I were highly uncomfortable and annoyed about the fact that 5-6 servers just lounged around our table area chatting away while we were just trying to enjoy our meal! It was awkward for me since I was able to see them right from the corner of my eye just glancing at me time to time. It doesn't stop here though. This is the good chunk of the review you need to hear me out on. -The Food: There isn't a huge selection of food to eat from. I'm not a picky eater but I can say for myself that the food quality is below par and is borderline inedible! -Seafood: Walking over to the sushi/sashimi area, I'm greeted with not so good looking sushi. The fish on the sushi was dry from the long amount it was out sitting on the tray. The rice was dry as well. Not only that, but it took them forever to refill the sushi. Some trays had little to no pieces of sushi on it and it was disturbing, not knowing who knows how old it was. I walked back to the seafood area a few times and they still didn't refill the trays. The raw oysters were on a metal tray with no ice on it. It tasted old and foul I had to spit it out. The thing that got to me the most though was on a piece of raw salmon, there was something black in the meat. It looked revolting almost like black mold! I called a server over and asked them what this was. Two of the servers walked over and just mumbled and shrugged it off and walked away. They didn't even bother giving me an answer or taking the plate to address the chef. I was totally taken aback by this. Overall seafood was not fresh and did not taste good! -Other food options: They had other things such as fried foods (fried rice, lo mein, pizza, fries, cheese wontons, dumplings, etc.), a few selection of soups and steamed buns, other selections of cooked seafood, stir fried meats/vegetables, and teppanyaki (didn't bother trying this). This was also highly disappointing. Some of the trays had little to no food as they were inconsistent and slow with keeping their trays filled. You can tell some of the food items were left out far too long to the point they started having a crusty film forming at the top from how old it was under the heat lamp. The garlic bread they had was stale and the edges were hard. The pizza was horrifying. Not only did it look frozen, but the cheese on the pizza was translucent and crusty from how old it was sitting on the tray. Overall not fresh and not tasty! -Dessert: I didn't even bother looking at the fruit section. Some of the fruits looked very old, dry, and mushy. Tapioca pudding had a film forming at the top and on the sides. They had a chocolate fountain which was interesting, but I avoided that. I ended up getting some ice cream. I asked for pistachio but the lady didn't listen to what I said and just gave me some chocolate chip ice cream (which I didn't bother trying). I asked for another scoop of green tea ice cream which tasted fine. Another concern was that the lady who served us the ice cream also worked at the sushi station making the rolls. We had to call her over by ringing a bell to get her attention. She didn't bother washing her hands after handling the sushi rolls. Honestly at this point, I just wanted to leave! -Overall Experience: I was highly disappointed by the food quality more than anything else. Looking up the reviews on Yelp, I completely understand why this place has such a low rating. At best they only deserve 1-2 stars. As I walked out of the restaurant, I felt so guilty seeing people walk in because I wanted to warn them to leave now and not eat here. Please take heed of my warning and do not come here to eat! I decided to try this place out with my family. Seating - They need to change their seating process. They give you a number, if you hear that you're supposed to get a number. They write down how many people in your party and then it takes FOREVER to find you a seat even though there are open tables. The young girl working was quick in the sense that she walked around the room trying to find a seat. Another worker who is in her 20s just looked lost. Why not have people pay before they go in and then seat themselves? It would cut down on the long wait time. Food - The food is what you get for the price. There's a good amount of Chinese fast food, I didn't try the grill and had the California rolls. There's a decent amount of variety, pretty salty because I ended up drinking tons of water after. I did like the ice cream, and they serve it for you so nasty dirty hands aren't in there. Service - I wish there was a water station so I could refill my own cup. It sometimes took a while. They did clean up the plates at our table, so that was good. Gross - When food would fall off of the trays I saw a worker pick it up and put it back in. That was disgusting to me. I know you don't want to be wasteful, but that's just dirty! Throw it away. One little piece of chicken is not going to cost you that much money. I'm adding a star to my review because Komi has shown improvement. The wait staff is more attentive and the many, many food choices are being refilled faster. I love the many choices: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, Mongolian barbeque, Sushi, sashimi, soup, steamed buns, salads, desserts, including about 10 flavors of ice cream, fresh fruit and more. Crabs and oysters are served in the evening, but there are clams, crawdads, scallops, fish, steak, and more at lunch. The decor is beautiful, but you may find your party sharing a long table. It's busy at lunch, so try to wait until 2 to 3:30 and still get the great lunch prices and senior discount. read more

Some of the plates are dirty - definitely check and pick a clean one. Yes there's a lot to complain about but you get some decent food if you know what to get. Sushi- YASS: salmon nigiri and shrimp nigiri. PASS: tuna and yellowtail anything. Tough and tasted strange from being frozen. I GUESS: California roll, Philadelphia roll, and eel roll. Grand opening in big 5/aji limon/pine hill buffet plaza! Dinner is only 15.99! Staff was very attentive and quick to take plates away, refill waters/napkins, and bring out the bill. I had a 15% off coupon on the table, they saw it at the beginning of the meal and took it without me saying a word. I like that! No awkward conversation when you ask for the bill : "can I have the bill and i haz coupon" even when it's laying face up on the table. Food quality: I would say it's a standard but bigger version of zen buffet where you have your sushi (their crunch roll was delicious), your Mongolian BBQ noodles (you can't choose your different type of sauces other than garlic and hot sauce, and the meat didn't look that fresh as it was defrosted) but it was still so tasty that my dad took most of the meat before I could get to it (that hooligan), your soups (miso, fish ball, etc), your buns/ rice wrap (their taro bun was extremely dry), your seafood (salt and pepper shrimp, crab, crab legs, oysters, clams, fried fish, sweet and sour fish, baked mussels, baked scallop) that doesn't taste very fresh but tasty nonetheless, your fried foods (chicken wings were bomb, pizza, fries, etc), a full fresh fruit selection (watermelon, strawberries, cantaloupe, honeydew, oranges) complete with chocolate fountain, and last but not least an ice cream section with at least 8 different flavors ranging from matcha to mango. The quality (not so great) and price point (cheap in buffet standards) definitely match, and if you are looking for an economical treat for the family, this could be it! I mean...You get what you pay for here. It's cheap, especially for seniors, so I can see why it's attractive. The food selection is what you expect out of a lot of Asian buffets - kbbq, Mongolian bbq, noodles, panda express type of stuff, dessert and of course the CRAB LEGS. Be prepared to claim your spot in line once they bring out the crab legs, because those will be gone in 2 seconds. We came in for lunch with some visitors from Chicago and I was disappointed that some of the food looked like they have been recycled.

Pros: -Has a grill area where the Mongolian BBQ station is, which lets you have grilled steak, grilled shrimp, and grilled squid. Something that you wont usually find in buffets like this. -Has a good selection for ice cream, not just 1-2 flavors. Coffee, Chocolate, Butter Pecan, Pistacio, Cookies and Cream, to name a few Cons: -Despite the many available tables my group was led by the server to be seated on a dirty table, told us to wait until another staff arrives to clean it. -Asked if i can change my drink from iced tea to pepsi for no charge siince their iced tea was not good and i was given an annoyed look by the server -Check was placed on our table real early as if they really wanted us to get out. Nasty nasty nasty nasty. I would have never ever eaten here. I only came bc my SO's family wanted to celebrate a birthday. I ate mostly the veggies and dessert, and out came a strand of red hair in my mouth from something I ate. I would stay away from the raw sushi and sashimi, especially at such a cheap buffet; don't want to risk getting food poisoning. The only good thing here is the ice cream. So many flavors. Went here with a very large group on Wednesday, December 12th. Had a reservation at 3pm and everybody arrived a few minutes early and we were not allowed to go in the reserved party room. Host made all of us wait outside and finally allowed to go in at exactly 3pm. That was not only ridiculous when we had a reserved party room and everything was already set up before. Then each one of us were pinned with stickers and did not explain what that was. When finally seated, it took awhile before a server came in to order our drinks. The buffet selection was ok and the food was mediocre at best. The meat was dry and the hibachi grill took almost forever to cook the meat. My wife and I seem to always gravitate to this establishment it appears this is our go-to spot when we want to become obese. I have been to a couple super buffets and in my opinion this place is by far the best. They have a good food selection. If you are a hardcore Seafood lover that plenty of that here for you. Came to Komi Buffet last week and my whole family and I got food poising, we went to urgent care and they confirmed it was food poising. The staff is very rude, they don't even speak English, and they talk bad about you the whole time you are there, hubby and I used the google translate and it was capturing everything they were saying, and still have the nerve to demand a tip at the end of your meal. Our family just had the worst experience ever eating at this restaurant!!!!!! I would give it no stars if I could. While we were eating dinner, my 4 year old son spilled his water. A worker walked over and started glaring at us and asked, "What happened?" We apologized and said that my son spilled the water. My son proceeded to say sorry too. The man just walks away shaking his head. My husband and I look over in disbelief at each other. Then I see the guy worker about 30 feet away from me just giving me dirty looks. I tell my husband what he is doing and as soon as I tell him, I see the worker walk back over to us. He is visibly pissed and tells us to be careful and to watch our kids so that they don't spill!!! That's when all hell breaks loose! My husband and I are pissed off and tell him it's just WATER that he spilled and that he's a little kid and accidents happen. He then says, " Fuc@ you!" Are u kidding me?!?!?! The other workers here all need a training on customer service as well. No one comes and over and apologizes for his behavior. One lady worker had the audacity to walk over and say it's okay. I tell her it is NOT okay and that the customer service in this place is f'ing ridiculous. I tell her to call the manager and ask her what is the name of the worker that was yelling at us. No one tells us anything or even calls the manager or owner for us. After threatening to not pay for the food unless we talk to the manager, they FINALLY call the manager where we FINALLY get an apology . You have got to be kidding me!!!!! I can't believe this place.
