We found this place through a friend who is from Korea who knows her Korean food! She said they recently changed management and are a lot tastier now. I think I need to get all my Korean food recommendations from her because this place is legit! The galbi tang, tangsuyak (fried pork with sweet sour sauce), and jjim dak (braised chicken -- similar in style to galbi jjim) were all delicious and portions are large. The tangsuyak here is better than Koong's. The half size portion of the jjim dak came in a large platter and we brought home plenty of leftovers. We also ordered a tofu soup for my daughter, who gave it thumbs up, and a jjajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodle), but I didn't get a chance to try it. They also had fried chicken which looked good! Surprisingly the place wasn't crowded; I think it's still a bit under the radar. Service was SO nice and helpful even though our large group had several rowdy and crying kids. Tucked away in a strip mall in Milpitas is some of the best Korean food you'll ever have in the Bay Area! The tangsuyuk was super crispy and the sauce that came with it was amazing as well. The jajangmyeon was also very good it was packed with a ton of flavor. Updated review! There isn't really a jjajang place near home, so this is my new go-to. My dad and I went on a Monday afternoon, and it was not too busy and just about the appropriate noise level to have a great conversation. I ordered the jjajangmyeon again, and the taste was very consistent to when I had it last! You'll never have to worry about your noodles not having enough sauce-- if you're still hungry, you can probably ask for rice on the side to continue enjoying the sauce!! The jjajang was a bit on the thicker side, which had my dad questioning whether it was just warmed up from the day before. Nevertheless- would order again! I had the same thoughts about the tangsuyuk, though I do have to say they reduced the amount of purple cabbage and onion! It's much more edible of a dish now, and I appreciate it a lot more. I've had so many restaurants' soft tofu soup, but there is something about this place that makes it stand out to me more than others. I love my food really spicy, and this met my expectations, while also maintaining the nice beefy taste that came from the meat in the soup. I absolutely loved it when I came here for lunch one day after a morning hike. I also had the soy garlic chicken here and was impressed by its strong flavor and crunchiness... it was delicious with some freshly made rice. Service was speedy and the staff were friendly; food is a little pricier than other Korean mom and pop restaurants I've been to, but considering the quality, I say it's worth it for sure. The restaurant has fairly high ceilings so it feels nice and spacey even though it's not super large. Korean food can be so expensive but Korea Garden Bistro has very reasonable prices and great quality food. You can really tell the craft and care they put in to their food. The seafood jjampong was my absolute favorite- chewy thick noodles in a savory broth filled with a lot of seafood, only $15! (08/24) the broth was super flavorful and it was elevated with a charred flavor. The jjajjangmyung was good- more on the sweeter side and not as thick of a sauce. The galbi jin was delicious! They even asked for a feedback but I thought it was perfectly flavored both sweet and savory. The rice cakes had a perfect chew and bounce. I'd definitely come back to try the rest of the items. The high ratings here confuse me since my food was barely mid (and that's me being nice about it). We ordered the 찜닭 (braised chicken) and 짬뽕 (spicy seafood noodle soup). The chicken was thoroughly overcooked and I am amazed at house dry they were able to make the meat while drowning it in sauce. The glass noodles that come in the dish were also overcooked and clumped together. I gave up on the noodles in one bite. They had soaked up too much of the salty sauce and were inedible. The seafood noodle soup tasted okay, but I was disappointed by how little seafood was in the bowl compared to how many chunks of pork there were. The noodles were cooked well, but given the price it is not a good value. The service was friendly and they were attentive. Like I already love bean sprouts and usually they're watery, but the ones here had a kick of flavor. I had to have refills of the banchan. The sign out front said "Under New Management" so I wondered if the new management had made it worse or better. We ordered: Ttok Boki w/ added Ramen 2 Jja Jang Myeon (Goppaki size) Jjam Bbong Full Fried Chicken (KFC, 14 pcs, 1/2 original, 1/2 soy garlic) The Ttok Boki was huge! The added Ramen wasn't worth it and it was very spicy even though we asked them not to make it too spicy but it was still pretty good. The Jja Jang Myeon was kind of plain but on the other hand not greasy. Portion size was good. The Jjam Bbong I thought was the best. It came with a lot of seafood which was unexpected and the portion size was quite large. The KFC was quite popular and it was nice to be able to order both KFC and Jja Jang Myeon at the same restaurant. Service was friendly which I appreciated. Lots of tofu stews to choose from. Korean fried chicken soy garlic flavor was absolutely delicious and well coated in marinade. All foods were served at boiling hot temperatures which is a bonus. Seafood tofu stew included a large piece of shrimp along with the tiny fresh shrimps. Sizzling hot soups. Yummy. Full ingredients and flavors in my stew. They were generous with portion size. Beef tofu stew was excellent too. Tofu stews aren't cheap these days, so try to find a very good tasting one if you're going to spend $18-$20 on it. Banchan variety exists. This is much better than some places that only serve 3-4 banchans nowadays. We actually had the white radish banchan along with other banchans. Not bad at all. Decent place to dine in. I think their fried chicken tastes much better than Tofu house on Milpitas Blvd. in Milpitas now (just my honest opinion). It's great to have another Korean chicken choice around here.
