I first tried this place when they initially opened years back and thought it was just ok, I haven't been back since then. Lately I saw pictures of it again and thought I'd give it a second try. Apparently they're under new management so this is what we got: Tang su yuk - it was super crispy/crunchy l, fresh and it went so nice with the sweet/sour sauce. It's not as sweet like most places are which made them addicting to eat Black bean noodles - The noodles were fresh and chewy, not over cooked and it was drenched in the black bean sauce making it extra saucy, right down my alley. The sauce was more on the savory side, other places can be sweet but this is a solid and good proportion Combination tofu soup - First thing we tried and it is sooo good. Super flavorful, you get the seafood broth coming through with the perfect amount of spice (we got hot), and it hit the spot with the cracked egg over rice. After watching many K-drama and seeing what the rave about JAJANGMYEON (black bean sauce noodles), I can see why now. I've tried the instant packs, the one that you see in the refrigerated section and some other restaurants, but if ended up bitter and meh. It's the first time that I liked this dish and Korea Garden's fresh noodles were soft and springy. The BBQ section was limited: Bulgogi and spicy pork. The bulgogi was a little too sweet for my liking. They had an eggplant ban chan that was different from the norm which was good. I'll try the fried chicken and other noodles next time. read more

I visited Korean Garden Bistro at 6:30 PM on a Sunday evening with a party total of five. The restaurant is located in a busy plaza with many other Asian stores, but parking was ample! When we entered the restaurant, we were seated right away and given water, steel water cups, utensils, and menus immediately. We ordered an appetizer of tteokbokki and added on cheese for an additional cost. For our entrees, we ordered jjamppong and jjimdak. Additionally, we were able to ask for extra dishes, since we were planning on splitting the food. We were given the side dishes first but did not have to wait very long until our jjamppong arrived. It came steaming hot and was a great first dish to start off. The jjamppong came with shrimp and had just the right amount of spice for me, who is someone who has a low-to-medium spice tolerance! It was overall extremely easy to eat as comfort food on a cold evening in Milpitas! Later, our jjimdak and tteokbokki with cheese arrived. The latter had an interesting, familiar taste that reminded me of bread / pizza / dough, but I do believe it was the addition of the cheese -- not to criticize, but I never had tteokbokki with those flavors before. Finally, the jjimdak was my favorite dish of all. It came with vegetables and chicken pieces, and the flavor was just so sweet and delicious. Everything was full of flavor, and I enjoyed dipping some of the side dishes in the sauce. It might be a little too sweet for those sensitive to sweetness, but it was the most amazing combination of flavors I have ever tasted. I know I will be ordering the jjimdak when I return. Overall, I had a great experience at Korean Garden Bistro. The food was awesome, and customer service was fantastic. The waiters checked in on us a few times during ordering our meals and while we were eating. The store itself is very clean, professional, and presentable. I will certainly be coming back! read more

Service was A++! Went on Sat am before they opened so we were seated promptly. Seafood pancakes were not bad but lacking the noodles crust that I love. We made reservation for lunch since the restaurant was rated well. We walked in and it want packed. We were seated quickly. It is not a big restaurant and it is under a new management according to the sign posted outside. The food came fairly quickly. We ordered a whole chicken (half Garlic and Honey) for $30+ , not sure if it was worth it. The chicken was covered or hidden a thick layer of breading. Plus you couldn't taste the Soy/Garlic flavor. The black bean noodles and seafood pancake were tasty. The tofu and beef stone pot were lack in flavor and toppings. The side dishes were small and standard portions. Then the bill came. Came here for an early dinner at 5pm on Friday night and my party of 3 had a great experience! Plenty of parking as it shares a lot with Seafood City. We ordered the jajaymyeon noodles, the budae jiggae and the tangsuyuk to share. Food came out fast and service was good. They were very attentive and offered to refill our banchan and water quickly. My favorite was the budae jiggae (army stew). Keep in mind, the portions were probably meant just for one person but since we all shared we all got decently full but I definitely could've finished the budae jiggae all by myself! The food is incredibly flavorful, the staff is friendly, and the portions are a great size. It's unfortunate that the reviews did not live up to their ratings. I really was looking forward to an awesome meal, I get that not every meal is going to be perfect but let me explain why I didn't give 5 stars. The place was not fully packed, I would say about 1/3rd full. I think the hostess was also the only waitress. They really could have had one more person to help out so that the only person working wouldn't be overwhelmed or have to rush from table to table. The food was just okay, it's not bad, it wasn't amazing or anything to rave about, it was just decent. The wings were pretty good but really pricey for just being wings, different flavors cost a few dollars more, I just got some classic wings. I also got the black bean noodles and the spicy seafood noodles, these are all things I've had at different places and maybe it's my palate, but the food was bland to me. I think what really made the experience tough for me was the lack of ventilation. I get that it might have been cold that day or they're trying to go save energy by not having the AC on, but it was hot and there was no ventilation, not a single fan on, no door open, it was still air. I was really uncomfortable while dining in. Maybe one day I'll give them another shot, but for now, it's not really on my places to revisit. read more

Solid food! Wasn't sure what to expect as a Korean who is picky since my mom is a good cook, but was pleasantly surprised. Kids had naengmyun/cold noodles, which was cooked well, good sized portions, with sliced beef, Asian pear and cucumbers. Also had gun mandoo/fried potstickers and tang su yuk/sweet and sour pork. Both came out early, very crispy. They fry stuff up well here. Side dishes were spot on w kimchi, broccoli, yellow daikon, soy potatoes, fish cake w jalapeño and eggplant. Under new management, was intrigued when I drove by and saw that they had a grand opening sign on a restaurant that I have seen here since I was a kid. We got the Jja Jang Myeon and the Soy and Garlic Wings. The Jja Jang Myeon was very delicious, and the server/manager brought us Gochugaru and then later brought out truffle oil. I'm not sure how it's done in Korea but I haven't seen any other restaurant offer it in our area. While I enjoyed the flavor of the Jja Jang Myeon on its own more, the truffle oil does change the flavor a bit so the flavor doesn't get too tiring. I like it when restaurants like this innovate and try new things as this only helps with the growth of restaurants. The fried chicken was delicious. Not much to add it's just delicious fried chicken.
