The best thing in this place has going for it is just the prices. It's so nice to be able to go in and pay a normal price for simple food. It's quaint. It's simple. It's relaxed and easy-going. Was looking for a quick bite to eat after shopping at Home Depot and found this cafe. Glad I did! Appeared to have an all women staff and the food was unexpectedly delicious! They even have fried okra which is hard to come by these days. For the main dish I ordered the quesadillas which I would highly recommend. There is so much flavor and the portion is HUGE despite being listed under the starters menu. Try out the Brooklyn Dodger or if you're like me and like to 'dip' the French dip is always a fulfilling choice. They offer daily lunch and soup specials too! I hear the whole half chicken w/mashed potatoes is amazing. I've not had a chance to go by for dinner, but I'm assured anything you order is a bang for your buck. Only complaint and it's not really even a complaint, but the French fries -- I'm personally not a fan of the flat, almost wedge like fries, so I order fruit instead The service is hands-down incredible! It's not the best, not the worst. My wife had got the catfish and liked it. However, she and I have a big difference in our palettes. I was talked into a gyro while also looking at breakfast and a burger. Kinda shocked me to even see it on the menu. When it came out, it looked ok at first glance. As I pulled it out of the sleeve, i could already tell it would be meh. In Greece, a gyro is customarily served in an oiled, lightly grilled piece of pita, rolled up with sliced tomatoes, chopped onions, lettuce, and fried potatoes, topped with a thick tzatziki. What I got was a pita with larger cut tomatoes, ringed red onions, thin tzatziki sauce, sliced cucumbers, and lettuce. Can't say I have even had just cucumbers thrown into the gyro. Normally, it's blended into the sauce itself. It was not my favorite gyro, and I would not order it again. My kids liked their breakfast and again my wife enjoyed her meal. I love their Kitchen Sink Scrambler, which is open-faced biscuits topped with scrambled eggs, green bell peppers, onions, sausage, and is seasoned with peppered gravy and cheddar cheese. This is served with deliciously seasoned potatoes. Additionally, they also have delicious omelettes and breakfast burritos, as well as this hot chocolate that you can tell is good from the smell. I visited Korner Cafe on a Saturday afternoon with my parents and it was a great experience. The dining room and kitchen both are impeccably clean and the staff are very friendly. They have specials every day where you get 2 entrees (each has 2 sides as well), plus an appetizer or dessert, for $19.99 Super value for 2 folks to dine! My dad and mom did the special: she got the catfish with fries and coleslaw, Dad got the hamburger steak with okra and mashed potatoes (no picture because he dove right in as soon as it arrived, haha!), and their appetizer was fried pickles. I ordered separately, a Cobb salad. Dad said the hamburger steak was delicious with the sautéed onions and brown gravy, and he ate the mashed potatoes and okra up with lots of exclamations of how good they were also - so that made me very happy. I tried Mom's catfish and as you can see in the picture, they're a damn good size. Thick and flaky, cooked to perfection (when you get the plate, everything is HOT because it's right from the fryer or grill, so give a minute to cool!). My Cobb salad came with grilled chicken which was also cooked well; it's so easy to overlook chicken breast when grilling but they did a great job and it was very tender. Also, I'm kinda picky with my ranch dressing; I don't know what the particular element is that I don't like in lots of the ranch out there, but some of them taste very artificial. Luckily, the ranch here was just right! The bacon and cheeses were the perfect amount not to overpower the rest of the salad, and the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. Highly recommend, especially if you're looking for a very affordable tasty meal! I will have to visit again for breakfast - which is served all day. read more

Clean and again a wait staff that are attentive and just good people. Now, the food. In my opinion what they offer is a good menu but, it's bland. Nice presentation but completely fails on seasoning. Their chicken fried steak has no flavor, the meat isn't seasoned before it's battered (if they make it in house), the flour they dip it in is unseasoned. The gravy is bland again no seasoning. The veggies are served unseasoned. I suppose if I were on a bland no salt diet this would make sense, but I don't think most people who know this place makes a special trip to eat there. It could be, very much so it could be. So much potential to become a quaint little gem. read more

WOW again. When we visit our son and his family in Lewisville we always eat at Korner Cafe at least once. We found this gem a couple of years ago and even got our son hooked on it. Stopped by for a quick lunch and was seated right away on a Saturday. This place is pretty quiet and has a very open layout so would be okay for big groups. They have a Groupon online however you cannot use it on weekends. Staff was friendly and attentive. I ordered the tuna salad sandwich that comes with tomato and lettuce on top on a raisin bread with your choice of chips, steak fries or pasta salad. The sandwich is fully loaded with tuna and could be split between two people looking for a light lunch. The tuna is delicious and has onions, eggs and something else green, maybe pickles? I ordered chips but was given steak fries. They offered to fix it but I told them it was fine. My boyfriend ordered the korner club sandwich and was quite pleased with his meal as well.
