Due to the weather, I decided to dine out for lunch rather than breakfast. From I saw in the parking lot, I was not the only diner with that intention. When I entered the restaurant, many of the tables were taken. As soon as I was seated, my waitress came by to grab my beverage order. She got my lunch order when she dropped off the coffee. That was the last of the good service. The next time I saw my waitress was when she dropped off my lunch order. That is when my empty coffee mug was eventually refilled. For lunch, I ordered the BLT as I had not ate one for ages. Rather than the regular fries. I substituted for the sweet potato fries. Unfortunately, there were only two waitresses working the floor. Fortunately, the BLT and fries were enough food to satisfy me until dinner. Rather than opt for dessert as the waitress suggested, I asked for the check.

We headed out for breakfast at the Korner Cafe, in Lewisville, TX. It wasn't as busy as I pictured it in my mind and we were greeted promptly. Our server was Ms. Dora, and she was a great server with a quick smile and warm greeting. She took our drink order 2 waters and 2 cups of coffee. We had the, Korner Omelet $12.59 Two egg omelet with Spinach, creame cheese, bacon, tomato and avocado slices. Served with wheat or white toast or biscuit and gravy & potatoes or fresh fruit, and Meat and eggs $13.99 Two eggs any style. Served with choice of chicken fried steak, ham steak, hamburger patty, corn beef hash or small sirloin steak ($2 extra). Served with wheat or white toast or biscuit and gravy & potatoes or fresh fruit. Out meals were served hot and pretty much really tasty. We enjoyed our meals and the old time music playing in the back ground. Come and visit.

Delicious food. Reasonably priced. Fast and friendly service. The fried catfish and shrimp combo was delicious. Comes with two sides and hush puppies. It was so good and delicious! I'll definitely be coming back for their Friday all you can eat catfish deal!

This place was okay. No wait to get a table, good service, and the chicken fried steak and eggs (meat & eggs) was decent. The Caesar Salad was soggy, and not very good. It was returned and removed from the bill without an issue. The Belgian Waffles we replace the salad with were good. All in all this is an okay place with no wait, and reasonable prices. Tip: I got a 15% discount for checking in on Yelp.

Was looking for a quick bite to eat after shopping at Home Depot and found this cafe. Glad I did! Appeared to have an all women staff and the food was unexpectedly delicious! They even have fried okra which is hard to come by these days. For the main dish I ordered the quesadillas which I would highly recommend. There is so much flavor and the portion is HUGE despite being listed under the starters menu. If my husband and I are ever back in the area we'll definitely come back to try some of the other menu items.

This neighborhood diner has become a very special lunch hangout for me and my 92 y/o friend. We started meeting up on as many Fridays in early JAN last year after he lost his wife and we're still going strong! Now, about the food, service and vibe. Of course breakfast is always a great choice! Lunch choices are fairly priced and range from taco salads, burgers, chicken fried chicken and above average sandwiches. Like pastrami? Try out the Brooklyn Dodger or if you're like me and like to 'dip' the French dip is always a fulfilling choice. They offer daily lunch and soup specials too! I hear the whole half chicken w/mashed potatoes is amazing. I've not had a chance to go by for dinner, but I'm assured anything you order is a bang for your buck. Only complaint and it's not really even a complaint, but the French fries -- I'm personally not a fan of the flat, almost wedge like fries, so I order fruit instead The service is hands-down incredible! The owner regularly walks the dining room and knows just about every patron...impressive! Hard to get disappointed about anything here, the entire staff is super accommodating and friendly!!! The ambiance is clean, organized and very open -- lots of booth seating. It's nice to have a neighborhood restaurant who offers so much to the community of Lewisville and surrounding cities.

Since my last visit years ago, I forgot about the religious, whimsical decor. The signage on the exterior provided ample warning. Several minutes after I was inside, the decor was easily ignored. I ordered the Chorizo & Eggs and opted for corn tortillas. Since I would eat the tortillas by themselves, corn was preferably to flour. The scrambled eggs dish, sliced potatoes and the four medium tortillas was ample for breakfast. I was able to finish everything without being too stuffed. The salsa provided additional flavor without being spicy. Although I did not mind, the amount of diced cheese may be overwhelming. The coffee was amazing. I finished my first cup before the waitress had a chance to take my order. By the time my meal was served, I needed a second refill. Although I would have declined, I was not offered a refill in a takeout cup.

I ordered a grilled cheese with fries (a childhood classic) and my boyfriend ordered the WiscoTex Skillet. My grilled cheese was so nostalgic of growing up in Wisconsin. We also split some cheese curds, which are a Wisconsin staple. They did them perfectly. My boyfriend said his skillet was flavorful and hearty, taking some to go with him. The service was amazing. Our server discussed how she lived in Wisconsin, not even 30 minutes from where I grew up. This was a casual dinning experience. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, we felt no rush to leave. This is definitely the home of the skillet. I ordered the house skillet, and my husband customized his with the "make your own" option. The food came out sizzling hot on actual skillets. A lot of other restaurants just serve their skillet dishes in regular bowls, so this was a huge bonus! On top of that, the skillet meals come with your choice of pancakes, toast, or a biscuit with gravy. The portions were incredibly filling, and we both had to take leftovers home. We will definitely be back!

The place was pretty busy with other seniors and they all were happily enjoying the 50's flair. Yelper husband had a beautiful club sandwich with a side of onion rings. It was very tasty and filling I'm pretty finicky about clean and well kept. I gave a "just ok" on that part of this review. Service was prompt and pithy. Both were good, but a few of the sides really shined, namely the cabbage!! - it had little bits of pork in it too. and the fried okra, lordy - YUM! Highly recommend this place, service was great too.

The servers and food…read moreare good, but we have had some recent issues as a result of the new general manager, who is very sloppy and unqualified at his job, which is why we left upset and took our business elsewhere the other day. We went in on a Sunday afternoon so it was not too busy at the time. My girlfriend and I like to be seated at a "low top" because she has back issues with climbing up into higher seating. We don't mind waiting for that as inside "low tops" are limited. The hostess was very nice, as they always are. She took us to the middle of the venue to seat us and then walked away while we were waiting on our server. I stood up to walk around the table so that I could sit next to her instead of across from her. She stood up to move over and pulled out the chair next to her so she could sit back down. At that moment the new general manager walked up, and without offering any explaination, took the chair out of my girlfriend's hand and said, "We need this table for another party." He walked away and left us standing there without offering us another solution, and apology or calling the hostess over to seat us elsewhere. We were left standing there dumbfounded and looking around unsure of what to do. We started walking back toward the front of the venue as we spotted another open "low top" near there. At that same time the female hostess saw what had happened to us, and she started to walk toward us. Meanwhile, another male server - acting as host - seated some people at the new table we were about to get to with the hostess. We got mad and said, "it feels like someone is playing a game on us!" The hostess apologized as she could see we were aggitated. It was not her fault, and we do not blame her. We blame the rudeness of the general manager. We left to go eat somewhere else. This is not the first incident with this general manager, though. A few days prior, we were eating in there and had a good vantage point of one of the side kitchen entries off to the left of the bar toward the ffront half of the venue. A bus boy sloshed water all over the floor while moving wet dishes in a container back into the kitchen. He didn't have a chance to clean it up because he was buy walking back and forth doing other things. No big deal. The general manager walks up and proceeds to yell at another female server about the water who had absolutely nothing to do with the spill After she walks away, he did not take any real care to clean the spot up himself. He comes back after a minute to clean it up but not with a mop or anything. He takes two towels off the bar and mushes it around on the floor with his foot. He , then, proceeds to kick the wet towels under the bar before walking away. Talk about a safety and hygene issue. This kind of left a bad taste in our mouth. He does not treat his venue or his staff very nicely. We wantedd to get up and tell the other female server that we were sorry for her. This venue would be great if they would fire this rude and sloppy general manager. It's a shame because this used to be one of our favorite venues to go to all the time. The experience is starting to feel cheapened and sullied now.
