Amazing. We went for my 48th birthday and the place is as quaint and cozy as it seems. We were a party of 4 and 3 of us ordered the gyro and souvlaki platters, and our fourth person had a gyro sub and fries. The food was delicious! My family came in with balloon so it was clear we were celebrating something. We told them that we'd heard about the place from Check Please on PBS and we were excited to eat there because reviews were so positive. Needless to say, the food was very good - big portions enough to take some home and the owner gave us a birthday dessert. Walking into this place was a blessing. It was 9:40 PM, we were hungry, yelped for a location to eat and was brought here. They closed at 10 PM so you would think you would walk into an attitude from staff that they are closing soon. Instead we walked into an welcoming atmosphere by the owner and staff. They were happy to serve us and the vibes felt great. On top of the welcoming entrance, the owner gave us slices of greek pizza on the house and even more to take home, we were in awe. We ordered two Gyro Pitas that were huge. One can be shared by two people. We also ordered small fries that are the size of a whole plate. Also tried a cookie dessert. It was a spongy cookie that tasted like orange zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, really good. The desserts are made by a staff member that is very proud of her baking. We stopped by here for lunch last week when we were in the area. Little did we know we would get a bit of entertainment with our meal. Did you see the movie, the "Big Fat Greek Wedding". Do you remember the father? Lots of "personality". We were warmly welcomed and greeted on entering. Kosta asked if we had been there before and when we said no, he made sure to tell us all about his specialties and how wonderful his food is. He's very proud of his pizza, too -- giving us a couple slices (free) to try. He showed us how when you hold the slice vertically, the cheese doesn't fall off. Chatting with the guy sitting next to us at the counter, we learned he comes from west palm beach and thinks Kosta has the best pizza in south Florida. The two guys further down the counter come frequently for lunch -- one who loves the Greek salad. And another guy enjoying a beer and waiting for his takeout order, comes to the restaurant every day for his lunch! As everyone entered, Kosta made sure to interact with them. Giving free tastes of food, finding out a little bit about them, etc. All the while he was preparing pizzas. It was an inclusive experience -- not just a quick bite to eat. My husband wound up getting the lunch special of two slices and a drink. And yes, we both liked the pizza. I decided to try one of the Greek sandwiches (since I'd already had a slice of pizza) and ordered their souvlaki sandwich. The meat was cooked well done as ordered, the salad inside was fresh and crisp, and even the warm pita bread wrapping it was flavorful. All in all a very good sandwich. They have an extensive menu of all your Greek favorites here. And we certainly didn't expect to be eating pizza in a Greek restaurant. But as Kosta said, the Greeks actually invented pizza. I'm looking forward to coming back here -- and trying some of their other delicious, I'm sure, selections. read more

Returned tonite and was a not disappointed there was no air conditioning so we were seated in the rear dining room which was pleasantly air conditioned but we seemed to be ignored a bit... and service was slow... that was all ok since we were in no hurry but when the bill came we were so surprised that a simple bottle of white wine had a charge of 53.00 which was very excessive we will be back but will not be ordering the overpriced wine ... This place is SOOOO good!! This restaurant is a little hidden gem. We were staying in the Deerfield area and I was craving Greek food, so we decided to give this place a try. Their menu is super cool, it's Greek and Italian. So you get the best of both worlds. It also works out perfectly for my children who don't eat Greek food. Our first time coming here, we got the chicken platter for four, pizza, a burger and fries, a Greek salad, hummus and pita. We were hungry lol. I was surprised on how amazing everything tasted! I'm obsessed with their garlic pita and hummus! And the chicken souvlaki is AMAZING too! I definitely recommend stopping by! The staff is super nice as well! We came to Kosta Greek Eatery to try their pizza, which came highly recommended, and their grilled octopus. This restaurant is quite the drive for us, but I wanted to have the Octopus badly. It did not disappoint. The most tender octopus I've has in a while. They serve it on a bed of tomatoes in olive oil, which is quite refreshing. It comes with pita as well. The pizza was great. We got half greek, half the meats (pepperoni and sausage) I loved the crust. It is very similar to New York style as we were told. My Greek side however was a bit soggy. The tomatoes slices add too much moisture for the thin crust to handle. It was delicious however. We also shared a huge slice of coconut cream cake. So scrumptious! Service was great. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. Also the owner talked to everyone. Ambience is pretty chilled and relaxed. Parking may be an issue if it gets busy. It's pretty tight . Fantastic food, slow service, nice people. I was torn on how many stars to give, but ultimately the delicious pizza won. We dined in as a party of 4. We were promptly seated and brought menus and drinks, but service slowed down after that. We did finally place our order, and then we waited for the food. We had ordered a Greek salad and tzatziki as an appetizer, but the pizza came out first about a half hour later so we had figured they forgot about it. As we were munching on pizza, we were asked if we were the table that ordered the Greek salad and the tzatziki, and we said yes but not to worry about it anymore since it still was not ready. The manager apologized and let us know that they were down 2 employees due to illness and gave us the tzatziki on house, which I felt made the situation right. The food: The Grandma's pizza and the Gyro Pizza were both so good! If I lived local I would be getting that all the time. The gyro meat was tender and flavorful, and the grandma's pizza (heavy marinara sauce, light mozz with dollops of ricotta and basil on top) was the best pizza I've had in a while. We dipped the crust in the tzatziki which made it even better. We shared a traditional slice of baklava for dessert and that was as delicious as the rest of the meal. Can I give this place 10 stars? We ate here 3 times after evacuating to Pompano from Tampa from hurricane Ian. True Greek style pizza excellent and was huge! Gyro meat tasted homemade. I've been here a few times now and the food is always excellent and the service is great too. Tonight we had dolmades, gyro sandwich, fries, and a coconut cream pie for dessert. Everything was very tasty. The owner gave us complimentary slices of cheese pizza while we were waiting for our food. Kosta's is my favorite restaurant! I have been going there for at least 25 years and have never and I do mean never had a bad meal! The food is exceptional and the service is always spot on. I must say the most wonderful thing is Kosta himself! He has created a restaurant where "everyone is family" with his hearty laugh and grand persona he makes you feel welcome each and every time you walk in the door! I only wish I'd known about this place sooner. This is a great family owned Greek restaurant. They are known by their regular customers for their pizza. Although I did not order a slice, one was offered to me by the owner and I had to have it. It was great. It was like being in the northeastern US, not Florida. This is about the best pizza I've had in South Florida, but that is not sufficient to say, it is great pizza and would be considered so most anywhere, with a good balance of sauce and cheese on a thin crisp on the bottom crust. I ordered a small Greek salad with Gyro meat. The small salad was meal sized for me with the gyro added. The dressing was homemade as was the Tzatziki served with the gyro. I had a glass of Greek red wine as well. The service was friendly and I enjoyed my meal at the counter chatting with other customers. I will definitely be back on my next trip to the area next month to try another item from the menu. read more

Kosta looks miserable. 2nd time here since transition and Kosta isn't cooking. You don't see him in the kitchen. And Kosta is now replying to Yelp reviews. New partner/owner taking credit. Sorry Kosta but several of your regulars warned you and have not come back. Service has gone down hill. I'd rather wait 25 minutes on Alicia than these new servers whom are not attentive. I witnessed several friends of owners being catered to by servers. Which is probably reason every review now is 5's. The regulars know what's happening. It's become a marketing establishment. This place is low key locals Greek and excellent. The pizza is fantastic and loaded with toppings. My favs are the margarita with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella and my lunch go to is two slices of cheese with sausage and peppers added. The Gyro is huge and excellent as well. I've seen Kosta give out free "try it" slices for people visiting their first time, well, sometimes I get one too and I eat there 2 times a week! One recommendation is if you get it to go the crust can get soft in the box so reheat it in the oven or use a cast iron skillet to get that crispy yummy crust rejuvenated. I went to this place after reading all the reviews and I was disappointed with the service and with the prices my son and I both ordered gyros and they came with french fries and we did not want fries so we asked what else we could get and the girl told us that we can have lemon potatoes and various other things so we both chose lemon potatoes When I got the bill, they charged me eight dollars for each of the lemon potatoes $16 extra on the bill. My son asked for no tomatoes on the Gyro and I asked for no onions. Guess what I got onions and my son got tomatoes. I asked For Cookie the waitress told me how wonderful they were and never brought it to me so that was my experience. I walked out paying over $60 for two gyros And a lemon potatoes and two sodas, which makes me not very happy. I don't know if I do it again. read more

Of course I've been dying to try this place after hearing such rave reviews, and I'm all about Greek food! This place was a definition of a hidden gem. Everyone greats you upon walk in, very small home town vibe which I really loved. Our server was so sweet and attentive. We started with the dolmades ( my husband grew up with these) and they were AMAZING, probably my favorite out of everything. You can tell they are homemade. They give you a huge side dish of pita too ( who doesn't love that!) For main dishes we decided to try the traditional Greek gyro pita and the cheese steak. The portions were huge!! You definitely get your moneys worth of food here...the gyro was fantastic. My husband liked his cheese steak, was a little on the sweeter side. A different twist to it! Next time we will try the pizza and spanakopita that everyone around us got. They do pizza by the slice and have an array of Greek desserts. They have one of the best falafel pita sandwiches that I've ever had! All of their food is always fresh and delicious. Dropped by with my boyfriend at this hidden pizza spot, where everyone is treated as family. This whole in the wall has the most delicious Greek food I've had since visiting Greece in 2018. Highly recommend the wild mushroom truffle pizza and the gyro appetizer (LOVED THE PITTA BREAD) ! Just a heads up tho, ask for the price for the specialty pizza's not on the menu before ordering. This place has a wraparound counter and tables for eat-in. The owner is really friendly and offered me and my friend's toddler a free cheese slice since it was our first time here. Pizza is thin crust, cheesy, with flavorable sauce cooked to perfection. I also tasted my friend's special white cheese special slice that was delicious as well.
