Delicious home style grinds! I checked in as a party of 1 around 10 AM and was quoted a 50 min wait, but I actually ended up getting seated within 10-20 min. I got seated in a small corner, which was fine. I got the loco moco, which came with a big patty and drenched in gravy. The waitress was very nice, and actually checked in on me looking concerned because I ate my food so fast haha. Will definitely stop by next time I'm in the area!

We stumbled upon Kountry Kitchen while looking for breakfast. It was fairly empty when we arrived but quickly filled up which, to me, indicates a good breakfast reputation. The hashbrowns were crispy, the omelets were plentiful and the pancakes were huge. Portion size was reflected in the prices which, honestly, are pretty standard Hawaii prices (it just hurts this Texan to pay $20+ for a simple ingredient meal). The restroom was extremely clean and spacious. Kudos to the staff! Heads up: being cash if you want to save 2% or else be prepare for a 3% up charge for credit card purchases.

I visited Kountry Kitchen in Kapaʻa, Kauaʻi, Hawaii [4-1485 Kuhio Hwy] on Thursday, 01/22/26, around 10:30 AM. Giving two stars for a restaurant is rare from my end. Unfortunately, this restaurant provided a gigantic lackluster, and underwhelming experience. Here were the main issues: * The service was quite slow. It took a long while to be greeted initially at the table, and even longer to receive the bill at the end. * There were a few flies around during the entire meal, which made it super difficult to enjoy my food in peace. My comfort in eating was stripped away. * Parking was difficult to find in the immediate area. I had to park my vehicle up the street. * The price points for breakfast food were teetering more on the slightly expensive side. On the positive side, the food tasted decent. I ordered the Kalua Pork & Egg with a side of white toast and Portuguese Sausage. The wait time for seating was minimal, and the restaurant's interior was nice, especially with the gift shop filled with a lot of rooster-related products. Overall, I was not pleased with this visit, as it was a huge disappointment and letdown. Please take all things noted into consideration when coming to Kountry Kitchen.

Checked out this breakfast place based on other reviews raving about the coconut syrup and pancakes. I pictured the inside differently, but it was clean and they had plenty of seating and high chairs for little ones. The Ube French toast, was delicious and probably the best "Ube sweet breakfast" I enjoyed while vacationing on the islands, but other than that I wouldn't return. It was on the pricier side, but the service was good overall. The loco moco was probably our least favorite on the island. They do have a gift shop in the front of the restaurant you can purchase from and they'll even ship it out for you for a fee. The coffee was good, but they'll charge you $2 for a to-go cup. If you pay in cash there is a small discount.

Service was fast since they place orders on their ipads. Everyone works as a team to take orders, bring food and drink, replenish coffee, hand out to go boxes and clear the table. Very efficient to help with the line outside. Ube toast was my main meal with a coconut latte. What a treat! Nothing left for later. The restaurant has a lot of seating without overcrowding. Will return for my next visit

This was the perfect spot for brunch on our first day in the Kapa'a area! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the menu was great. we ordered Kalua Pork Grilled Cheese, the Corned Beef Hash, the Bacon Avocado Grilled Cheese, and of course, a side of spam. Everything we tried was delicious, but the Kalua Pork was a standout! Make sure you go ahead and join the waitlist on Yelp - when we arrived there was a 25 minute wait and once we were seated it was another 30 minute wait for our order.

LOL.. We came back for the excellent food. I got the Kauai Benedict and hubby got another omelet. I love Hawiian sweet bread, so I deconstructed my Bene and ate the bread alone with a little syrup (yum!). Kaula pork was perfectly fork tender and paired well with my poached egg, yummy hollandaise sauce and crispy hash browns. I took half back with me for lunch :) We got here at 730 am and didn't have to wait. The traffic to get to the restaurant was the longest wait :) Service and Ambiance were great.

Kountry Kitchen is a popular spot and is very convenient when you need a hearty meal! The restaurant parking area can be difficult due to the fact that there's not much street parking, but there is a lot across the street you can park in. It's a very spacious restaurant and has a gift shop inside with a lot of cute items to browse if you need to wait for your table. We had a large group of 8 but were seated quickly and our server was very nice. I had the Loco Moco which is my favorite meal to eat while in Hawaii. It was ok but to be honest, I've had better at other restaurants. I found the patty and gravy lacking in flavor. The menu was very extensive for breakfast and lunch and I'd have no trouble coming back to try other items, but I'll find my Loco Moco elsewhere!

I was really excited to grab breakfast here, but personally I felt like my meal was just okay. My friend and I stopped by for breakfast on our first full day in Kauai. We were able to get seated as soon as we arrived Friday morning around 8 am. There's some limited parking right in front of the restaurant and a much larger dirt lot right across the street where most people were parking. The menu is huge and has all the breakfast/brunch staples you can think of. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted, since everything looked so good, and ultimately went with the corned beef hash loco moco with a side of cornbread for $24. I've never seen this combo before, but as someone who loves corned beef and loco mocos, I figured I couldn't go wrong. Unfortunately it fell flat. I didn't feel like there was a lot of corned beef, there was way too much rice (despite all my efforts I had a lot of rice left at the end), and I was NOT a fan of the gravy at all. It tasted pretty weird to me. Also, I got freshly squeezed watermelon juice, which was a special, and didn't realize it would be $9. All the other juices on the menu were only $6, so this came as a surprise to me when I saw the final bill. At least my friend enjoyed his garden omelette ($21), which he got with hash browns and wheat toast. Note: you get 2% off if you pay with cash

It's a place that has to be on your list for breakfast (don't delay get there early as a line is very typical) The atmosphere is inviting and the staff is top notch friendly. Plus visit their little gift shop inside (support local) my personal favorite is the coconut French toast with the coconut syrup I mean nothing screams tropical more than that, those Moco loco is absolutely amazing as well. Ensure this is on your list while in Kauai.

Every time I visit Kauai, I have to stop at Kountry Kitchen -- and I've yet to be disappointed. The service is always friendly, the coffee's solid, and the food is consistently great. The place has that cute, homey diner atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable the moment you sit down. I had the special -- a sausage eggs benedict served on cornbread -- while my partner stuck with his usual, the pork loco moco. The special was really good, though I think I still prefer their classic eggs benedict. The cornbread and sausage were a nice twist, though, and definitely worth trying. Kountry Kitchen remains one of my favorite breakfast spots on Kauai -- simple, friendly, and always satisfying.

    Fresh Juice: Watermelon, Cantaloup, Honeydew
    Roger P.

Kountry Kitchen has an extensive menu filled with classic breakfast items you'd expect to find in Hawaii, such as loco mocos and mac nut pancakes. The place was pretty full the whole time we were there so I'd make a reservation to be safe. Parking is mostly street but I noticed a parking lot by the Public Library that seemed free and open. Once seated, we were greeted by one of the friendliest servers ever! She was so nice and accommodating even though we were a huge group. We loved the recommendations she gave and she even cracked some jokes at our friends' expense. She had a lot of tables to take care of but it never felt like we were forgotten. Fresh Juice: Not sure if it's available every day, but our choices were watermelon, cantaloup, and honeydew. I've never had the last two as fresh juices so we had to order and try it. It looks very artificial but trust me, it's so good. I also liked that none of them were pulpy. They weren't that cold but if they had put some ice cubes in it, it probably would have diluted the flavor. Macadamia Nut French Toast: Their french toasts are made with sweetbread so it's already kind of sweet without the powdered sugar and syrup. I'm not sure if they also bake the bread with mac nuts but they give a lot on top so every bite has a bit of that mac nut flavor. The french toast is also fluffy and moist, pretty good! Traditional Loco Moco: There's multiple things to customize but I ordered it as is, with the traditional beef patty and regular white rice. You can order the eggs any style but I recommend getting them over easy so the yolk can mix in with the gravy and rice. The patty was a little dry but tasted fine with the gravy, which you can ask for more. Also comes with cornbread so make sure to ask for butter and honey! Overall, I was very satisfied with the service and the food. I'd love to come back and try their other savory dishes too! Side note, if you pay with cash, they'll give a 2% discount.

The service was outstanding from the hostess, bar tenders, chefs and our wonderful server, Kapua!! She was so friendly and always checked on us without being intrusive. We have been on the island for 6 nights. Each evening we have tried Mai Tai's. Lava Lava's are by far the best!!! They are not too sweet and a good pour! We got there early as the other reviews said it gets crowded and they do not take reservations. We arrived at 5 pm on a Wednesday and were seated right away closest to the beach. For our starter we had edamame which was a large portion and so good. My husband ordered the Chicken Pineapple Rice Bowl and substituted the chicken for the coconut shrimp. The rice was AMAZING as well as the shrimp, but our only complaint was the portion was very small and was served with only 3 shrimp. The picture looks like you get a lot, but it came in a carved out SMALL pineapple. The presentation was beautiful though. I had the Ceasar salad and added chicken. It was so good!!! The lettuce was so crisp! Nothing worse than a Ceasar salad with wilty romaine lettuce. I've had plenty of those in my day. This was one of the best I've ever had! Everything arrived in a timely manner. We had a great night. Side note...they offer free valet parking which is at the very top of the parking lot. Its right off a main road and you cannot miss it. Parking lot was a bit small, but there was plenty of parking. AMBIANCE: When I went there was plenty of seating. A bit dead, but I also did go pretty early. There were a bunch of decor of older American pop culture like Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, etc. But also Hawaiian themed decor (obviously). SERVICE: You gotta walk up to the front to order. I was approached almost immediately as soon as I walked up to the menu on the screen. The girl working was super friendly and welcoming. I made my order and she gave me a pager for when my food was ready. FOOD: I ordered the chili pepper chicken, which was recommended from the girl at the counter. My friend ordered the ahi katsu. The chili pepper chicken was good! It was crispy and extremely flavorful. It was slightly too salty for my taste, but luckily the rice does help balance it out. Some of the crispness was sacrificed for the sauce, but it was overall still pretty crispy. I loved that they used boneless chicken thigh. I was expecting bones or lots of breading but it actually had a perfect ratio. I wasn't much a fan of the mac salad. It was like a mix of mac and potato salad, but more like a potato salad. I'm not big on potato salad, so that makes sense. My friend's ahi katsu was alright in my opinion. The sauce that's on it was good and enjoyed all the flavors. The tuna was just a bit overcooked to my liking, but idk how else one would make a katsu without overlooking it too much. Maybe bread the fish and freeze it before frying? Idk man, I'm not a chef lol but the tuna would definitely be better if it was less cooked. OVERALL: Honestly, I would still come here again. I still enjoyed the meal and the service was pretty quick. Both items were both worth trying. All the flavors were there and the little things I didn't like were just personal preferences. Its a great place to pick up a lunch plate and enjoy it at the beach.
