I was craving Orange Chicken and my bf recommended this place. We showed up around 7pm and it was a bit busy but it was not a long wait and we were able to find a high top table to sit at. It is not waiter service, you go up to the counter and order and they will drop your dishes off. I ordered the Individual Orange Chicken with Fried rice, we ordered the cream cheese wontons & the shrimp tempura and my BF ordered the chow main and a beef dish. Reasonably priced, we got fountain drinks and it was less than $40. The tables were clean and the soda fountain was stocked and clean as well. The Shrimp Tempura was super bomb & I loved the cream cheese wontons. My orange chicken was a great portion as well as the fried rice. I would def recommend, it has no spice to it and it is not overly sauced. I actually had a ton of left over so that was a plus. Customer service was great, there was a steady amount of people dining in and doing take out as well. It was a good amount of busy. Def. a spot in Fullerton that I would have passed by without a second glance & I am so glad I got to try it out. This location is in the Stater Bros. parking lot. I have no complaints. They have a lunch menu on the weekends which is a great deal. Comes with your choice of protein (meal) plus your choice or rice and two sides plus a drink for about $13. The trays are a little more expensive than other Chinese food places in the area but we wanted to pay a little more because we have eaten at KPB before and we are so glad we did! After 20 min of waiting, what I ended up getting was fried chicken skin and cabbage paired with a bed of lettuce cups. Yep, no meat, no water chestnuts or mushrooms. Flavor was there but unfortunately the chicken were big slices where a typical Thai restaurant don't slice chicken that way. Usually Thai restaurant have the bean sprouts on the top of the dish with chopped peanuts and either a lemon or lime slices on top too. The noodles were stuck all together in clumps not separated. I found the place next door on yelp and it didn't look appealing so we tried this place because looking at the menu it looked like they had more choices. Their menu was taped on the window so you could see what they have. There were quite a few choices so we decided to give it a try. My husband ordered a chicken bowl with veggies and chicken fried rice. I ordered the Singapore fried rice and I can't remember the name of the shrimp with the sauce on the side. My husband said his food was tasteless with no flavor. The dishes I chose were spicy so the flavor was pretty good. I didn't pay attention to everything that was as in my fried rice so I had to pick the meats out. It came with pork, chicken and shrimp. The shrimp I ordered was pretty good and the sauce was good for dipping but it was cold and normally it comes on the shrimp so I would imagine they don't pour it in cold. The portion sizes were lunch sizes but still were pretty generous. They brought each dish out one at a time. The ladies were friend except one of them always had her phone. When I went to ask for something they were down the way with the cooks talking and on the phone not really paying attention to the front. It was very clean and the soda machine was out of order, but they did have canned drinks to choose from. This is not a review on the food, but a review on the horrible customer service I experienced today. I attempted to order here on Uber Eats 46 minutes before closing time, and the order was accepted. The order arrival delayed because of the lack of drivers. The restaurant closed at 8 (was not aware until later). A courier was sent to pick up my food around 8:15, they arrived at the restaurant and messaged me that they were closed. How irresponsible of a restaurant to waste a customer's time and also a courier's time! You guys could have easily canceled the order when you closed. The time in preparation did not take too long as it was showing it would be delivered an hr and ten mins from order and it took about 40 minutes. Food arrived nice and warm ready to eat. Obviously as it was what the special person likes it so flavor wise it was as expected delicious. The sweet and sour soup was not something he would order but the spring roll he did like. I am going to admit that after the photo of the food was sent I was craving it! I will definitely have to stop by in person and have some of their food, also a little FYI in person plating is always better but you gotta visit in order to know what I mean. Sadly since ownership changed last year I've seen KPB go downhill. The soda fountain no longer works (they only sell soft drinks by the can) and the food quality also declined. The Kung Pao chicken is over cooked/fried or something -- it just isn't the same. Their menu is also much bigger, but I wish they would just stick to what they did best! The interior of the restaurant is also looking more and more run down. (Which is a HUGE plus for college students on a budget ) The portions for the family sizing was great, both the meats and the rice on the side! I hate to write this review because kpb used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant in Orange County but holy crap has this place gone downhill fast. I knew something was up when I noticed their crunchy noodles changed to the cheap premade kind but brushed it off to covid cost cutting measures. Well the last few times I've visited the food quality has just gone straight downhill, bland rice, undercooked pot stickers and chewy odd tasting chicken and on my most recent trip today I had the rudest cashier I've ever dealt with, she rang me up with a dirty look and practically threw my food at me. I've asked a few times if they changed owners but the only response I could get was they got a new chef. Regardless it's not a good sign when all of the good old staff is gone, the prices have gone up and the quality has taken a dive. read more
