I was recommend this place by a coworker and I was so happy to have tried it. The place was very clean, hosts were very friendly, and the server was attentive and sweet even tho it was a busy weekend. The sushi was amazing, the food was very very tasty, and the all you can eat crab legs were soooo good. They lay out enough crab legs for everyone to enjoy without having to fight over them. The ice cream wasn't your normal buffet life cream, it was very creamy and delicious. Plenty of variety in the entire rest and the restrooms were nice and clean. We were greeted at our table by not one but what seemed like two managers asking about how we were enjoying our meal, which was refreshing and very appreciated. Heard about the renovation and decided to give it a try with my family of 6. We got seated quickly on a Saturday midday on a far end of the restaurant. The chairs were soft and the environment was comfortable. We started off right away with the sushi order at the table and grabbed seafood, crab legs, shrimp, oysters, fried crab. They even have a seafood boil that has crawfish, shrimp, mussels and potatoes . Our server Kristen was very attentive with nice touch of humor. The food selection was good. Sushi good. Meat good. Seafood wow amazing, ramen was a nice touch! The kids enjoyed the sweets. It is $30 at dinner and they add 15% gratuity as a service charge for 6 or more so be mindful of that when adding tip. Only complaint was staff eating on break right next to us when there was plenty of tables but other than that worth the try. read more

Where do I begin...First the parking lot is a mess. The handicap spaces are not marked in accordance with Texas State law. So anyone parks in them. Not sure if they have the required number of spaces also according to state law. I will file a complaint with the city and state to make sure. Whoever painted the parking lot did a terrible job as the spaces are not even. Expect your doors to definitely get ding. The inside appeared clean but it is new after all. Half the food was marked as to what it was. Some of the food was cold when it soiled have been hot. 20.00 for lunch? I find this sort of high compared to what you got and the quality of the food. I'm not sure how much dinner. Overall once you get through the stress of the terrible parking lot my experience was average at best. read more

Their snow crab legs are salty. Went their a second time and found it still salty, which I did not eat much of. I recommended Yumi to a co-worker because of the crab legs and she too said their snow crab legs were salty and did not eat very much. I've both caught in the wild and purchased in store crab legs. And never have they been salty. I can only say maybe they do it on purpose? To limit the consumption? I'm not all that enthused about going back because of that. read more

Our Waitress was subpar at best. We asked for Hot Green Tea, received Luke warm steeped tea with no flavor. Returned. The chicken bites were cold, the Rangoon was cold, the meat was cold, but the crab and shrimp were perfectly cold. Pick your own individually separated legs. The Bao was good, all of them, when you could get more than two types. The noodles are all luke warm. When I mentioned about the foods chill to the Waitress, she responded by saying, "Mix it up, then take". We left feeling full from mostly salads, veggie, potato, mixed fish, etc. The sushi was limited and looked somewhat old and dry. They do offer individual servings special order. I saw a man with two huge Lobster Tails. We had to get our meals printed separately to get the two senior meals for 10% off, as the Waitress only gave for one. $19.99 for each Lunch Buffet, and $2.29 for one unsweetened tea, after receiving a sweetened tea, to gag on, and return. She received a tip, for $5. We had to flag her down for everything. Oh by the way, you have to ask for Chopsticks. read more

Teriyaki chicken was the best thing here and about the only thing I ate. The service was good and the waiter was very attentive. However, I did witness multiple flies on the raw steak left on the counter to order. The man who prepared the steaks flipped the steaks with just his gloves on and then proceeded to text on his phone with the same gloves he flipped the steak with. We dined at Kumi last night with another family of 4, so 7 total in our party. We arrived at 3:45 pm and we were swiftly seated. Our server was Lily and she cared for our table with such grace even though her section was quite full. Our drinks never went empty, she was extremely quick with our custom sushi and sashimi requests. So big thank you to Lily for being so kind to us during a busy Saturday night shift. I personally ate my weight in oysters on the half shell. They were fresh and I yearned for nothing other than more oysters. Our kids enjoyed the lo mein, wings, egg rolls, and salmon nigiri. Everyone had a fantastic experience eating a little bit of everything. I think my favorite part of going to Kumi is the ability to ask for Red Snapper sashimi and fish eggs and have them be of great quality. If I lived closer, I would absolutely be spending my pay checks there. The seafood spread is FANTASTIC and worth every single red cent of that $28 cost. read more

Kimchi is spoiled. I love kimchi, but this was definitely aged and rancid while sitting on the buffet for longer than safety allows it seems. Krab salad was also spoiled, very unfortunate. Crab legs are cold and flavorless. Fried shrimp overbreaded with the tiniest shrimp inside. And how do you screw up pot stickers? Isn't that a staple? They had zero flavor. Baked seafood is mayo based, fyi. The seafood mix with shrimp and crab was actually really good. Beef & broccoli was good. Crab Rangoon's, not good. Fried calamari, ok, although my date thought it was good. Sushimi was good, but fell apart immediately, nothing to hold it together with the rice. After living in Asia for 4 years, I was not expecting crumbling sushi. Gen Tso's chicken, bomb! Pancit? Or Rice noodles? Or whatever it was, good, except the scrambled egg was not. Eggrolls & cheese rolls, taste exactly as expected...frozen then deep fried...nothing special. Egg drop soup, dope! Had 2 cups. Waitress walked past us so often that we actually didn't realize she was our waitress. I had to flag her down for more water, and take our old plates, then more drinks. No conversation, no asking if we needed anything, we called her over, not good. But she was nice. This place could be amazing, but they put so much money into the design & ambiance, and not enough into the products they are serving. We'll come back in a few months after the kinks get worked out, hopefully. read more
