What a great little place! Wife and I started with the veg Gyoza and the Kyoto Buns. Both are fantastic. The Gyoza had just the right browning and tasted fantastic. The buns were browned on the outside and the perfect consistency. They had that nice umami flavor you want from chashu and there was a lot of flavor to the sauce as well. We both opted for the regular ol' chashu ramen. The broth had a nice rich flavor that was well balanced. The noodles were perfect and the mix of vegetables were fantastic. The chashu itself was what I consider perfect. It wasn't overly fatty and didn't have that "poached" feel about it and instead was perfectly browned. The fatty bits were rendered and not crispy but just right.... just writing this makes me want to go again.. best chashu I've had in ages... seriously. And... we both also opted for an extra egg, and this places knows how make a seasoned egg (soft boiled). The yolk was that perfect consistency... and they had to be considering the tvs in the place were playing basically ramen food porn showing exactly what you should expect.. and definitely creating excitement for the meal. Services was super-fast and efficient. The waitress was friendly, but not overly so. She quickly addressed any need we had before we had to ask. Dishes were cleared with a calm expedience, but not in a way that makes you feel hurried. It's great to be so close to this place, since my previous favorite Ramen place was in Addison and this place is closer and better... and dollar for dollar there is absolutely no reason to go to any other place... it's less expensive than other places and far better! read more

Unfortunately I didn't check Yelp until it was too late. Other reviews are spot on. I ate mine because I was hungry and I can eat anything. But the broth tasted manufactured (and poorly at that), the noodles were undercooked, and all the toppings were cold. The waitress knew next to nothing and was happy to make up answers to questions rather than find out. My wife took hers to go because that was offered and she didn't want to be rude, but it went straight into the trash. We were a little nervous because the reviews for this place are kind of all over the place but mostly not up to par. My friend and I tried it anyway because we've tried all the other ones! We shared an order of chicken gyoza and he gave us an extra one since there were two of us. Those were delicious! We both ordered the Chashu Tonkatsu ramen and it was a little different than other places but we really enjoyed it and would definitely go back. The restaurant is cute and the service was great! The server even made mistake on our order. Food price was quite high for ramens. It's operated / cooked by Chinese / Taiwanese chef. Soup was so bland, no flavor. Noodle was not made fresh nor frozen. This was my first time to eat ramen & had to add condiments into my broth. This is a Ramen wanna Be place - worst experience. Once we were done, we were told that 20% off grand opening was over but the sign was still there in the front of restaurant . By the time we wanted to pay, it took us another 40 minutes bc their credit card machine was down. I would not recommend this place at all. The broth (like what a lot of other reviews) was bland. No flavor at all. The broth temp was luke warm. The noodle tasted off. Not bad, just off. The three pork slices were tender with decent flavor but wasn't enough to help the poor broth out. Compared to other ramen places, it was pricey for what you get - $12. There is currently a coupon in their flyer to save $2 but I forgot to use it . The service was a little lacking too. No one came up and checked up on us after we got our food. We had to wave the waitress for the check and wave again for her to pick it up. I hope the chef and owner doesn't take this the wrong way, but they should get someone with experience with a ramen restaurant and reboot it. Everything from the menu, food, and service. They let you pick your type of ramen AND different brotha, which is cool, but then slap everything you can think of into the ramen bowls. Our server was attentive, but seemed deeply confused when I tried to pick only a few of the toppings to appear in my noodle bowl. The noodles in the ramen were okay, but nothing like the noodles served in other ramen bowls in the area. You also only get half of one boiled egg, which I feel is the best part of ramen. Nice friendly atmosphere, good food but give them a few more weeks to work out the kinks. We came with party of 6 around 1pm on Sunday, and it first took awhile for one of two servers to get our order as they rushed around to serve everyone. Even the couple who came after us already had their order in. The single loner who came 15min after them ordered, got his food, paid and left before we even got our food. Observing the open kitchen it looked like they had organization issues. As a result, we were missing eggs in 2 of the 6 noodle bowls. Out of all six there was a definite range from hot to cold broth. Mine was nice and hot but some had cooled off broth, noodle and meat because it was sitting out too long. Overall the food was tasty. Takoyaki was delicious! The Kyoto buns were a bit spicy and pretty greasy. Tonkatsu broth was also a good balance with nicely grilled pork. Hakkaido broth was bit spicier but very good flavor also just the toppings were cold and broth was lukewarm. Ordered a pork rice bowl to go but was told they were out of pork so I asked for chicken rice bowl instead. Went home and it was chicken ramen. The restaurant has a nice, cute, modern but traditional aesthetic that I appreciate. I especially love the little wood stools/chairs with the wood tables. You can tell they put some thought into decor and presentation. However, regarding the food itself, they made some baffling choices. I ordered the salty crispy chicken. The flavor was good, because it's hard to mess up with mostly pre-made seasoning, but the chicken was mostly breading, so, not great. It also came with sriracha mayo as a dipping sauce. I think this was a poor choice, because I associate sriracha mayo mostly with Americanized sushi or poke, and while I love it, it drowns out the flavor of everything it touches. This mismatch in flavor makes for some confusing bites. My dad ordered the braised rib noodle soup, which I tasted. The soup had a nice, light flavor, but it wasn't totally special. The rib meat was overcooked, you can tell by how the bone gets way too soft and falls apart, which means you get bites of tasteless mushy bone in your mouth along with the meat (bad). It wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't great. They say the noodles are homemade, well, are they freshly made IN the restaurant or are they bought as "homemade" product from the supermarket? I'm leaning toward the latter... Finally, my own order was the beef chow mein (also advertised on the menu as being made with homemade noodles). Well, the taste was fine, overall. They can make improvements with a higher sauce-to-noodle ratio. What was really a poor choice, though, was to leave the GIANT stir fried bok choy leaves in the noodles AS-IS, instead of slicing them into smaller pieces. This makes the bok choy poorly integrated into the overall dish, and all you're tasting for mouthfuls at a time is just bok choy. Either slice the giant leaves or just buy the smaller baby bok choy leaves! I also found their choice of "beef" used in this dish very baffling, as well. It's the kind of dry, thin beef cut you usually find in noodle soups rather than a stir fried noodle dish. Why use this? Why not a nice chewier, BEEFIER cut of beef that's generally traditional for chow mein noodles? Lastly, the choice to plate the chow mein in a gigantic bowl rather than a plate was also less than stellar. You want these noodles to look generously heaping. That's why it looks so much better on a plate. The giant bowl makes the amount of noodles look small, dwarfing them, no matter how much noodles are ACTUALLY inside. At least use a smaller bowl for the chow mein, so you can still have the noodles look like they could overflow from the top, if you HAVE to use bowls. Overall, taste was fine, solid, not amazing, but still really decent. But they can make a lot of improvements to the way they make the dishes and present them. read more

It was totally bland, watered down, had minimal toppings, noodles ok - tasted like fresh refrigerated ramen from Hmart w diluted broth. Service was ok, not excellent. It's in the details. Thanks for the chopsticks and spoon placed away at a diagonal from me, and my hot water was served in a plastic cup (BPA-free? Not sure). The waitress she was playing with her phone when we first came, after took the orders she continued play with her phone and never come to asked us if everything is ok during the time we're there. A quiet little place tucked in a corner of the complex crammed in between a few other Asian joints. We were a bit skeptical entering at first but once we were in, we felt that we made the right choice. Both the noodles and fried rice that we ordered were tasty and were presented well. The decor inside seemed welcoming with Chinese art and rustic wooden seating. Family loved the food and the friendly staff. Only small complaint was that the quantity of food in each of the dishes was a bit less than we were used to other similar restaurants in the same price range.
