    Banchan

Classic korean comfort dishes in a modern space! Came here on a Thursday around 7pm and got seated immediately. $84 cheese maeun (spicy) galbi jjim The meat was so tender and the flavor got depthhh. It wasn't too spicy (in my opinion). The rice cakes are THICK, soft, and chewy!! Wished the vegetables were a tad softer, but still loved them. They gave us two bowls of rice for this dish. My banchan ranking: 1. kimchi - my favorite one! 2. radish - deliciousss 3. cucumber - not a fan, had a really soft/soggy texture I imagine the banchan would taste really good with their soups, which is what they're more known for. Free hot barley tea! When you get your bill, they give you a little yogurt / yakult drink! I wish they were cold though, I noticed they would be out on the counter where they ring up with bill. Overall, would recommend!!! :) I would come back go try out more dishes

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and came here on a Friday with my friend. We were lucky to find parking right away since a car was backing out. This plaza is so small. When we went inside the restaurant, they had a yelp waitlist and estimated time was around 15-20 minutes. I wish they had the option of checking in on the app instead which is more efficient. I didn't know the restaurant had an extra room to the side til we got seated in there. Only 2 big tables in there and 1 small table. We ordered the mul naengmyun and cheese maeun galbi jjim. I don't think i was a big fan of the spicy noodles. The sauce was a bit chunky and didn't enjoy it as much but I liked how soft and chewy the noodles were. I think we ordered the wrong noodles :o For the galbi jjim, I liked how they had broccoli in there and big rice cakes yum! It was good but not my favorite!

This place is a traditional korean restaurant with very beautiful modern design. It would be a great date spot. Food: Both of the dishes we ordered (spicy cold noodles and cheese spicy galbijim) were on the sweeter side. Personality not my favorite flavor profile. Parking: Easy plaza parking Service: The server was super kind.

I think I just made a perfect Hot & Cold Combo! If you don't know what to get between something hearty or something refreshing, do what I did and get both! I ordered the Guk Bap (Spicy ) and it was exactly what I needed. The broth was deep, flavorful, and had a perfect kick that hits the spot without being overwhelming. To balance out the heat, I also got the Bibim Naeng Myun (Korean Cold Noodles). The noodles were perfectly chewy and the spicy-sweet sauce was spot on. Eating the piping hot soup followed by the icy cold noodles is the how you do it up in here. Lol. The service was quick and the banchan (side dishes) were fresh and plentiful. Definitely a 5-star experience and a must-visit for authentic Korean comfort food in the area!

Fast service with delicious bone broth. I wish they would provide more banchan varieties. Come early because it is popular and parking lot can fill up quickly.

We went for mothers day and got there around 5pm. There was no wait but the line quickly built up after that. The food is all pretty good, but I don't think there is anything particularly stand out. If you want kkalbijjim, daeho is much better in my opinion. They have delicious soups, but I would say it's just a notch above things you can get at daeho, so I would rather just spend my time there. There is decent parking but I can imagine the lot filling up quickly. Since the place is busy, you may feel rushed to leave by staff. You're also not allowed to bring in cake for birthday occasions.

Galbi jiim is good but I like the ones in SoCal more. The spicy one is better than the regular one here. Regular needed more flavor in my opinion but the spicy is good and not that spicy. Side dishes are good too. The workers said each one could feed 2 people but it could definitely feed at least 3. Com early because they always have a wait

We were in Santa Clara today and Korean soup sounded so good. I am so glad we came here. There were quite a few parties waiting, but we shared a table so the wait was 5 minutes at around 1pm. I ordered #3 Galbi tan and my husband ordered #1 Seol Leong tan. They give 3 little dishes. The spicy radish is the best here! I polished off my soup and so did my husband. I enjoyed my meal here today more than at their Mountain View location and the cost is more reasonable too.

The gaalbitang here was soooo delicious!!! I love clear broths and this one was great. The kimchi was also really good. I ate it with the galbitang and it was crunchy, savory, salty, sweet, warm, cold - everything all at once! The noodles were hard to chew though. So take small bites and make sure to cut it with a scissor. Super lively inside, always busy and always has a line. My party waited 40 minutes during lunch time on a Saturday.

The winning combo at Kunjip is definitely the Sul Lung Tang + the galbijim. The bonchon, barley tea, and yakult make the meal feel complete. We typically visit during off-peak hours and have no trouble being seated.

In a little Korean strip mall with plenty of parking, you know it's authentic when you're the only non Asian there. One time we were there on a weeknight and another on a Saturday; both times we were able to be seated right away. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and the staff is attentive and friendly. I've ordered the Gil Jan twice and it was amazing both times. My friend tried the mul naeng muni and didn't care for the dish. I've only had it in Korea, and it tasted fine to me. The bibim naeng myun was really nice.

We visit every other month, and our "go-to" is always the Cheese Maeun Galbi Jjim. The taste is remarkably consistent; the galbi is fresh, tender, and lean without being overly fatty. While the menu labels it as spicy, I find the heat level to be relatively mild. My only critique this time is that the portion of rice cakes seems to have decreased--we only had three in our order, whereas there used to be many more. It's a bit disappointing because their rice cakes are a highlight: perfectly chewy with a delicious rice umami!

    Seollangtang
    Janet N.

Lots of delicious food in this plaza and Kunjip is definitely one of the places you must try! Had their Seollangtang and it's probably one of the better one's I've had here in the South Bay. Served with a bowl of rice and generous servings of kimchi. The salt and green onions readily available off to the side and a cup of hot barley tea. Does it get any better than that? Delicious broth and their radish kimchi was addictive and delicious. I can't say their kimchi is my fave, but it's pretty good and I did finish it. Service was quick and attentive, interior is clean, not too noisy and diners ranged from solo, couples to groups out for lunch. Enjoyed my solo meal and appreciated the little yogurt drink at the end of my meal. Highly recommend and will be back for their other dishes!

Service was good. food was delicious! the bulgogi was generous portions given the $$. The kal bi was delicious. We got the lettuce wrap (aka leaves) glad we got it because it made it feel healthier. banchan: came with: square little rice paper wraps (not as healthy as lettuce but something), kim chee, sprouts, marinated onions with peppers (spicy! but I'm a wimp, any spice is too much for me), jap chae I didn't like the self-order on tablet. (at least it wasn't order off phone, I really hate that) at other restaurants if you order enough, they "service you" free steamed egg. Here I had to buy it myself. negative, there was a dripping pipe on the floor, and we had to point it out for them to wipe it, but then it dripped more. was that water? or grease? who knows. we had to suggest they put a towel so I didn't have to stare at it creeping towards me all night. fun korean pop music in background. cheaper feeling ambiance. definitely coming again for the food and minimal line. didn't like that tip defaulted to 20% minimum (then 23%, 28%) but at least they calculate that pre-tax.

It was actually the perfect group to test it. One of us had marinated crab in Boston and loved it, another tried it in Busan and wasn't a fan, and I was a complete first timer. We ordered the Soy Sauce Marinated Raw Crab, Beef Short Rib Soup, and the summer special Hwe Naengmyeon (Spicy Cold Raw Fish Mixed Noodle). The restaurant is spacious, and seeing that most of the customers were Korean definitely gave us high expectations. Service was friendly and our food came out in about 10-15 minutes. The raw crab came with a bowl of rice, quail egg, fish roe, roasted seaweed, seaweed salad, and pickled daikon. My friend mixed everything together for us like a pro. Soy marinade was well balanced, the crab had a soft, jelly-like texture and tasted really fresh, not gimmicky at all. My friend who didn't enjoy this dish in Korea actually ended up liking this version, and my other friend even said it was better than the one she had in Boston. As for me, I really enjoyed trying it for the first time. That said, it's definitely an acquired taste and probably not for everyone. If you're not ready to eat raw crab, I'd actually recommend trying the soy marinade with soft tofu or boiled eggs first because the sauce itself is delicious. The Beef Short Rib Soup came with tender meat, but the broth was just okay. Not bad, just not something I'd order again. The Hwe Naengmyeon, on the other hand, was really refreshing. It definitely had a spicy kick, the noodles were soft yet chewy, and the raw fish had such a unique texture that I honestly don't know how to describe it. Served cold with fresh veggies and half a boiled egg, it was perfect for a hot day. Also, banchan were delicious and free refill, our favorite was the Konjac noodle mayo salad and Gyeran Mari (Korean Egg Roll). Overall, I'm glad I finally got to try soy marinated raw crab, and I can definitely see myself ordering it again. Such a fun first experience, and I'll be back to explore more of the menu.

The bossam took a while to come out, and by then we were already pretty full off of the pancake, soup and bibimbap. Service sizes are generous, and this definitely would've been enough for 4+ people to share. There was a great assortment of different banchan - my favorite is the jelly! The pancake was nice and crispy, with a good amount of seafood, the bibimbap had a great amount of crispy rice at the bottom and the tofu soup was comforting and exactly what we were looking for. The bossam had a lot of meat - I kind of wished there was more radish and napa to go with the meat, but it was tender, not too fatty, and satisfying. We had plenty of leftovers to take home. Jang su jang is still a classic staple, and has a delicious offering for almost any korean craving you could want.
