First time customer today - called first, spoke with Carl (Leonard) - Carl was very knowledgeable and he answered all my questions. I went in the same day for oil change and state inspection. I was blown away at how fast I was in/out for BOTH oil change and state inspection ... and I didn't have an appointment. Awesome. Carl walked me around my vehicle and thoroughly explained what was done and I can honestly say that Carl took great care of me. This, by far, has been one of the best customer experiences that I've had in years getting my vehicle serviced. I usually dread going to get my car serviced thinking that I would be taken advantage of I'm a woman who doesn't know a whole lot about cars. Carl made me feel like a boss when he explained the various components under my hood and its recommended service schedule. I use to go out of my way to visit this location for years because of the service, even though an oil change here is double the cost of competitors. Quick and never tried to sell me anything unnecessary. I believe they ended up hiring a new manager or something because my most recent visit was unpleasant. What particularly irritated me and showed me that they are not trustworthy is that I had a $5 off my next oil change on the sticker from my previous oil change and he did not mention this-- even after selling me over $200 spark plug replacements. Sure, $5 in the scheme of things is nothing but it was the principle of honoring your customer. Previously, the men who helped would always remind me of current offers or ways I could save money. I will pay double for a place I trust and that is honest. This is not the place. read more

I went back to this location after fixing my engine. I was told I needed a new one at the price of $3600. This time I went in to get my A/C fixed. Was just blowing Hot air. Reported it was probably my sensor according to google. Well that was ignored and given a complete A/C service for $160. Well that didn't fix it. So next I was told it needed a Compressor HVAC. They wanted to charge me $450 for that part alone. To install another $220. I found the part myself for $75 and let them install with the arrangement to take off the $160 for service not needed. Well after putting in that part, they discovered that was not the issue either. Guess what the issue was? If you guessed ambit temperature sensor, you guessed right. The exact thing I told them to fix from the start. Only problem, now they want to charge me $600. Ive been screwed enough by them. DO NOT GO HERE! Please read. A few months ago my daughter went to get an oil change. Later that night she drove from Plano to downtown Dallas to visit a friend. On the way back to McKinney at 11:30 that night, she felt like she ran over something and her car started shaking and making a terrible noise. She was scared to drive the rest of the way, but thankfully made it home safely. Long story short, whoever did her oil change did not properly attach any of the skid plates underneath her car.The middle one came off completely, which is what she ran over. The front and back ones were hanging down dragging the ground. The next day we took it to a Kwik Kar closer to us and they zip tied the front and back skid plates down so that she could drive the car. They also told us that the Plano Kwik Kar did not change her oil filter and put in the wrong oil. When I called to talk to the manager, he couldn't have cared less. The first time we spoke he said he would take care of it. The second time I called...since I hadn't heard back from him...he was rude and hung up on me. He never apologized either time. Unbelievable. We are now having to pay for a skid plate through the dealership and it is still backordered. Moral of the story...DO NOT go to this place. It's the worst. They did not care one bit that they put my daughter at risk on the road, didn't apologize and never resolved issue or paid for the replacement. read more

I went to a kwik kar once to get an oil change and I thought they did an amazing job. So this year I decided to go to them again the Plano location For my yearly inspection. Well they took my jeep in and then came back to tell me I failed! Because my front window tint was too dark!! I asked them how I passed last year?? The young tall blonde kid said "well it depends on which place you go to". I told him that this is ridiculous. I paid the $25 and was told I have 15 days from that day to fix the tint and re-do my test. There are other cars there with darker tint but I was singled out. I went today to another trusted car shop and passed!! Bad business kwik kar Plano location. I'd rather spend an hour waiting for my FAIR test then wait 10 mins for a scam! I will not be back to a kwik kar! Save your money. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. They lied to me about having a bad battery when I went in for an oil change, tire rotation, and alignment. I was smart enough to have them jump my car and take it to auto zone. Good thing I did because they checked it and there is nothing wrong with my battery. I have cranked it 4 times since I got it back and it works fine. The alignment was a bust too. For some reason they could not do an alignment on my 2011 Altima, now my car has an even worse pull to the right. Thanks for nothing! read more

I brought in my 2010 Honda Civic LX for some slightly overdue 100,000 mile maintenance. The technicians on duty were polite, professional and helpful. They provided me with a price for replacing radiator coolant, replacing transmission fluid and replacing the spark plugs upon request, and discounted $40.00 from the bottom line since I was getting everything done at once. All of the work took about an hour and a half from "Hello," to having the car pulled up around front. They even answered my technical questions on what products and parts were used for the service work which is greatly appreciated because I can record accurate information for my vehicle maintenance history log. I drove her out of their garage about four hours ago and no surprise issues or problems have arisen yet. 8/10; would bang again. read more

Writing this so no one else gets scammed by these idiots. I went there yesterday for a simple inspection. They told me I needed these $600 dollar engine sensors, to pass my car. I agreed and paid for the cost. When I went to pick them up they said sorry we thought that was the only issue you actually need 16 more sensors for double the cost. I told them forget it and to put the old sensors back in my car, they refused and refused to let me speak with the owner. I called another location and was told this location was just acquired a few months back and the owner is a scammer. Said they run some break special and only put 50% of the padding on, leaving the cars very unsafe to drive. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!!!!! read more

This experience was terrifying. I went in (without my boyfriend- I'm a young woman) to get a bolt replaced that was on a covering under my car and they immediately said I needed an oil change. I knew that my synthetic oil was good for 10,000 miles (I was 400 miles over but was planning to go to my regular place next week). There was a group of about 5 different guys working there. They said it was 8,000 miles over limit so I also needed a complete engine flush for an added charge. After this they said the bolt is free and they had to check to see if they could get a deal to include tire rotation with the oil change. They didn't know that I am an engineer and work on compressor maintenance in plants all the time. They mocked my tone in a high pitched voice and treated me like I was incompetent. I'm now at my regular body shop (Midas) and walked through the same concerns with this shop. Midas says everything is fine and I'm just getting an oil change. It is unfortunate that it's so hard to find places that won't take advantage of young women with cars and constantly try to upsell you with fear and shameful tactics. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFOREHAND AND NEVER BE AFRAID TO GET A SECOND OPINION! read more

Kwik Kar has once again lived up to the high standards they always have. I dropped my Yukon off at 8:30 am last Thursday for what I though was going to be a quick alignment. I got a call shortly thereafter informing me I needed a complete new front end. They explained everything that was going to be done if I desired and didn't pressure me into getting anything done I didn't want to do. They were able to get my entire front end replaced by the end of the day and I could not be more happy with the service and professionalism from Kwik Kar. I'm impressed. I visited the 1060 E. Beltline in Richardson for an oil change and a state inspection at 2:30 on a Tuesday afternoon, I was promptly greeted and they started the work immediately. I interacted with multiple techs and staff members, all of which pleasant and helpful. I was informed to be aware of the condition of my drive belt showing signs of wear but never pressured by "up-selling". I used a mailer coupon for both services so I paid 89 bucks for the entire visit, the work was complete and I was driving away by 3:00. I took my vehicle (Chrysler 300C 5.7 V8 HEMI engine) in for an oil change and was told by a service technician that the car needed to have its spark plugs replaced which would cost 299. I was told it needed to be taken care of, especially since it was a HEMI engine before they start backfiring and result in further, even more expensive problems down the road. This did not sound reasonable, as the vehicle had just turned over 30,000 miles. So, I deferred to the owner's manual to find that according to the maintenance schedule, spark plugs do not need to replaced until 100,000 miles. It is infuriating and outrageous as a consumer who patronizes a local business and spends their money and entrust the care of their vehicle to a supposed knowledgeable service technician who who then try to sell something that clearly was out of necessity in an attempt to scam the consumer. read more
