We stopped at La Crepe Bistro today for Mother's Day because we were so excited to try the French Toast breakfast because it looked amazing on the pictures. When we arrived, we were told all the tables inside were reserved (even though it was completely empty) so we waited around 15 minutes to be seated outside. I ordered the Breakfast Crepe and a cappuccino and my boyfriend ordered the French Toast breakfast. Overall, the service was quick. But we were not impressed at all with the food. The French Toast tasted like deep-fried bread. It wasn't terrible, but it was not your traditional French Toast. The Crepe was alright but we were expecting more. I don't know if we'll come back (since South Miami has so many other Breakfast/brunch restaurants). read more

TERRIBLE!!! STAY AWAY!! If you enjoy terrible service, a passive aggressive service and very overcooked eggs, then this is the place for you. Placed an order and they informed it would be 12 minutes. I waited a half-hour for eggs... well the girl in the front had a terrible attitude and then the older lady who was there was worse. My favorite part was putting zero tip for a pick up order and getting an eye roll. If you can't deal with your own restaurants use hour, then you don't need to be in the business. Meanwhile, the only smile that was given, was to each other about a text message that they were reading while they were supposed to be working. Well, I can tell you that if you travel down US-1 a little further you will run into an amazing french bakery that also serves food. Great food. The service was not great. We got the salmon platter and the chicken Cesar crepe and the Nutella dessert crepe. All the food was really good. The issue was that there were three of us on a weekday work lunch. We sat down and only two of us ordered (three items). My third friend wanted to eat a sandwich she brought in. The place was literally empty. The owner came over and said "what is this? You take a table for three and only two eat? This is not ok". Well I said would you like me to pay a service fee? No she cannot eat that here. She said if someone else comes in I will need this table. The place was empty! My other friend is pregnant and starving so we eat quickly and leave so the third person can have her sandwich. The one with her sandwich was going to order dessert and coffee but after the rudeness of the owner opted to sit and wait and order nothing. Why would the owner be so rude? This is a wonderful quaint place. What makes it even more special is the staff. They are so kind and accommodating. Definitely felt at home. Horrible!!! The attitude of the women working in this place is appalling! As soon as we walk in some lady is sending her sandwich back saying "it tastes bad. I'm sorry I can't." We should have turned and walked away right then and there but decide to stay because we were short on time and starving. I asked if they had French fries or potato chips (pregnant woman craving). The response I received: "do you see it on the menu?" Who answers a customer like that?!? Still haven't gotten up. They bring water to the table no ice. I ask for ice. Ice machine is broken; they bring 5 ice cubes to the table. Our $10 ham and cheese arrives and you guessed it... Literally ham + cheese, not a damn thing more and it's $10 EACH!! Completely mediocre at best. Not once, did anyone pass by the table to refill water or ask how things were. DO NOT COME HERE!! J'adore les crêpes! This this is a great little lunch spot just past Sunset Place on Red Road and its perfect for a party of 2. The staff is friendly and the foods comes out fast which is great during the lunchtime rush. I ordered the squash soup and vegetable/goat cheese sandwich and it was wonderful. The real treat was when my friend and I split a dessert crepe with strawberries, banana and warm nutella. Its called the Yummy Yummy crepe and the name says it all. read more

So there are 3 French places in this shopping complex: this place, the French bakery, and cafe pastis. It's a little strange. I wish I knew the backstory. Perhaps there was once an enclave of French immigrants in the area. Or maybe there is some kind of family feud with the owner of the first place and the second and third places are the results of that feud. Who knows. Bottom line is that there is some stiff competition for your dollar if you are in the neighborhood and craving French cuisine. The food here is simple, clean, unpretentious French food. Their smoked salmon is clearly above average and the crepes are tasty. My only real beef with this place is that the prices are on the high side of average. I guess that's par for the course when it comes to this area and this type of food, but $30 pre-tip for a sandwich plate and a crepe plate is steep. read more

It was just the right portion of everything. They area a little expensive but it was good. My favorite part were try strawberries because they were so fresh and had a beautiful red color to them. My wife and I wanted a quiet place for breakfast, and La Crepe Bistro filled the bill nicely. There was a limited breakfast menu, but I can see why. Each offering was fresh and quickly ready. We each ordered a different quiche with fresh fruit. We each marveled at the light flaky crust, and the quiche filling that was also light and fluffy - even the portobello mushroom quiche was soft and loaded with flavor. The fresh fruit was actually fresh! The woman waiting on us made our cappuccinos herself and we have a very nice start to the day. I know this isn't much of a review, but I think I covered it all. Found my new favorite place in South Miami today. Service was great and food was even better. I had the Friday soup which was zucchini soup and the combo half prosciutto and Brie with tomatoes. It came with a small side salad. I could have easily had another half sandwich, it was so good. To finish we shared a Nutella crepe with strawberries with a espresso. Total bill per person was $25. Not bad! I'm looking forward to coming back soon and plan to visit this little French bistro much more often. My friend had a salad and said it was outstanding. What a gem!! Whenever I want a savory crepe in a cozy, quaint oasis, I come to this place. The owners recently relocated to Miami from France, and what a treat. There is an authenticity that can be described as flavor and culture in all corners of their space. There are wines and roses, and peace the young professional yearns after a long day's work. There is also an environment for catching up with friends I find warm and open. And on a great day, the door stays cracked so you know there is a cool breeze just outside. Let me start this review off by saying the only thing we ate at this place was French toast and it's worth every star I gave. I had a French toast craving after running a 5k with my fiance, because carbs. It's the best French toast I've had in Miami, and it's not by any means fancy(it actually came with Smuckers syrup). It just tastes like it's deep fried in butter- don't let that deter you, butter makes everything better. Looking for a French place with good crepes. Found this place not too far from me. Its right next to Sunset Place in a little strip mall. Not a big place with some tables both inside and outside. The hostess/waitress was definitely French which is nice. I loved the fact that on the menu you can get just bread, butter and jam. Very French. I decide to get this with a dessert crepe. The bread was ok, nothing special and the jam was good. As for the crepe, it wasn't anything spectacular but very good (nutella, bananas, strawberries). It was on the thick side and I usually like my crepes thin but I wasn't complaining. Overall, its a nice cozy place and if you are in the neighborhood, worth stopping in. What I find really unique is the fact that 2 stores down is a French bakery. It seems this place is more the cafe while the other is more the bakery. I just find that very odd. read more

I went here for the first time recently when visiting a friend in Miami - it was his first time here as well. Over the last few years we have had dozens upon dozens of breakfasts together at several different restaurants; this place had, by far, the absolute BEST scrambled eggs either of us had ever had. Everything else was great as well; the pancakes, (with powdered sugar; not enough places do that!) fruit, the bread - but the eggs really stood out. The two women who were serving our table were both really lovely; very warm and personable and didn't seem to mind the fact my friend is extremely fussy about his coffee and always wants substitutions.
