We splurged a bit because it's the holidays and I got the Parisian hot cocoa and strawberry-Nutella crepe and mom got the French toast breakfast. Everything was soooooo delicious. I decided to take my wife to one of her favorite places but of no, it was a big disappointment, almost all the tables were with leftovers, duty, I had to request to have our table cleaned, the food was cold, she ordered a crepe and it was like it was just taking off the fridge, our soups were warm not hot, I went to get forks and there were not a clean pair, unbelievable, I asked for and a waitress told me, we don't have a clean one, let me get you a pair of plastic ones!! What a disappointment. I had a craving for a breakfast croissant sandwich and looked around since the Bakery I usually go to was closed. I ordered the sandwich that includes egg, ham, and cheese. It was not busy this morning. I ordered it to go. I got there around 10:30ish. When I got home, I took it out of the container noticed there was no cheese in the sandwich, nor was there a full slice of ham. Instead, it had very small pieces of cubed ham. I couldn't believe it. I paid $9 for this one sandwich and they didn't even include the cheddar cheese. Luckily I had a block of cheddar cheese at home that I was able to add to the sandwich. read more

Looks like they are getting their groove back at this location. Stopped in for a bite just before rush hour on the loop. Decided to mix it up this time. Of course I just have to have the strawberries romanoff with brandy sauce. I swear I can't come here without getting that. Don't they look yummy and they were. I could eat bowls of this alone but make myself behave. The Croque Monsieur with that slight taste of garlic is so good. In case you have not tried one it's a ham and cheese but really more than that. I don't like that powdered sugared one so many places serve. That is really a croque madam but some mistakingly mix them up. I chose the Caesar salad as my side. That fireplace felt good today. Brought half my sandwich home for later. Of course I'm not leaving here without stuff from the bakery...so many goodies to choose from. Finally settled on chocolate almond croissant and a full baguette. Visited on 2.27.22 Partner had Mardi Gras Danish and I had the Pumpkin Pie. The lady who took our order was so nice, it gave me the warm and fuzzies. This was a nice end to our day and we were able to relax and the best part Pumpkin Pie in February! We almost always have a good time when we come here. no one was at the front and me and my husband stood up there for a while. a guy in the back made eye contact with us and gave us no indication of what we were to do. he wiped his nose and kept walking. we had no idea it was a cafeteria type thing which is fine, but nobody was up front to tell us that. just as we were about to leave a young girl came up front. she was clearly new to the location. not professional but nice. I asked her what the best soup was. I decided on the French onion. instead of giving me the soup she said she was uncomfortable using the torch to melt the cheese on top. I pushed that aside since she was new, but then we sat down and got our food. my husbands food was fine. it was essentially a salad on a sandwich. pretty hard to mess up, however my soup was a nightmare. she decided to try to torch the soup. it wasn't even melted. I just had slabs of cheese on top. I kept in mind she's new so I pushed on and tried it. it tasted terrible. it tasted like chemicals and onion shoved in a bowl with no care to the flavor. there was a big piece of bread floating in the soup. and when I tried it, I genuinely spit it out. it was stale. I don't even know how they achieved stale bread in soup but they did. the desserts looked delicious but after that presentation I wasn't inclined to try anything else. the staff wasn't very impressionable and half of them looked strung out. all except for a very pretty lady in the back kitchen that tried to help the young lady up front torch my soup. she looked like she cared about her job. I won't be coming back, but I'm sure they have better things on the menu. I'm not writing this review to shame the restaurant. How hard is it to make a Nutella crepe with strawberries that tastes good? Evidently too hard for this place. La Madeleine's used to be my go-to place for a nice meal but, if this location is what they've become, I'll never go to another one. My potato soup was so-so but my Quiche Lorraine was still delicious. The French onion soup had croutons instead of French bread in it. That's a minus in my view. Too bad that they've gone so far downhill since my visit a couple of years ago. I complained to the manager about the crepe only and got no satisfaction. Service was really great at this location. Everyone was extremely helpful and felt like they went above and beyond to make sure all patrons were looked after and had what they needed. I got the croque madame and while not the bed one I've ever had it certainly didn't disappoint. A stand out for me is the mimosa deal which is pretty great. read more

Happy Birthday to my wonderful amazing daughter! All she wanted was to come in to her favorite restaurant and get her tomato soup with grilled cheese and hot chocolate. Everything was brought out, but the grilled cheese. So she went and asked for it and the lady said it would be just a moment... Then her aunt went to ask about it after we all completed our meal... come to find out she never put it in. We were charged, but for whatever reason, it didn't get to the kitchen. Came here because the line was too long at Jim's on a Saturday morning. The thing about La Madeleine, which I have visited infrequently over the last several years, is that you walk in with high expectations because of the French aesthetic and everything but then are underwhelmed by the food. Things should taste better at this price but that's hard to make happen when they run it like a Subway. The employees were really nice so that counts for something. I like the self-serve beverage bar and the complimentary sour dough and multigrain bread. It says Adrianna on my receipt but it was a guy who made my food and then collected payment. He was nice. I like that when I told him that I like alot of onion in my French onion soup he made sure to ladle alot of onion for me. He also went to the back to get Gruyere cheese because they hadn't put it out yet. Too bad the soup doesn't taste that good. read more

Have come to this location several times now but it was my first time trying the breakfast. The food was tasty. The manager at the restaurant always seems very attentive to the customers and the restaurant. When you arrive you are able to see a menu before ordering that the register. Then you take your tray and are able to collect your food or have your food taken to your table after. There's a soda fountain for refilling your drinks whenever you like and you get all your own silverware and napkins in the same area, pretty much cafeteria style. The building can accommodate a groups as large as 10 I believe but most tables are 2 seats or 4. It's a bit of a cozy fit inside so be mindful you won't be sitting too far from other people inside. Overall I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere for a nice brunch. read more

I woke up excited to have la Madeleine for lunch because I wanted to get my regular jambon beurre (sp?). We approach the location and it's exceptionally busy. We reach the booth to order and they say they no longer have my sandwich. I was disappointed and wonder why ham, cheese, butter on French bread would be discontinued but ya know it happens. I look around the restaurant and see that they are not limiting in person dining, the tables are not socially distanced and it's hard to move around while being socially distanced from other customers. They were woefully understaffed and the employees looked visibly unhappy. The food was good which is why the rating isn't lower but really shocked that other than masks and gloves they really were not enforcing much of any of the COVID safety protocols.
