I was here for dinner about a week ago.....Sorry to say it was a big disapointment from start to finish.......I ordered shrimp marninara over linguine......I asked for al dente pasta and was not given what I asked.......Secondly and most important....The sauce can always make or beak the dish and this time it failed big time......I cant believe that an Italian restaurant has no clue how to make marinara sauce.....Its supossed to be a fresh tomato sauce thats slightly chuncky in consistoncy with a lot of fresh garlic.....This was a dark smooth sauce no no taste whatssoever.....I suggest you get your cooks some cooking lessons real fast............. read more

Only ever visited La Piazza for lunch, but have always had a pleasant experience. During our most recent visit we ordered the arancini, fried zucchini, and a salad. All of our food came out fairly quickly and was delicious. The rice balls were perfectly crispy with ricotta on the top and the zucchini (huge portion) was fried to perfection! read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We enjoyed a lovely dinner here last night. I always love the ambiance of this restaurant, and the food is always great. We decided to share a Mediterranean Salad before our entrees. We were surprised when the waiter refused to split our salad for us, saying that they don't offer "French Service". (Not sure what that means!) So, he gave us 2 spoons and made us do it ourselves. No surprise that half of it ended up on the floor! Such a lovey evening with friends and great food from La Piazza (Melville). Can't say how nice it is to walk in and be remembered. Dinner was - Appetizers : ZUCCHINE FRITTE, PECAN SALAD - Mesclun field greens, baby Arugula, honey roasted pecans ,Gorgonzola crumbles, balsamic vinaigrette. We substituted goat cheese!!! Awesome!!! Main courses: LEMON SOLE MEUNIERE - Pan-seared Lemon Sole, capers, asparagus tips, white wine, lemon butter sauce, side of rice pilaf. CHICKEN PRIMAVERA - Grilled Balsamic Chicken, piled high with sautéed garden vegetables, side of rice pilaf. SALMONE PICCATA - Pan-seared Atlantic Salmon, artichoke hearts, capers,white wine, lemon Beurre Blanc sauce, side of rice pilaf. So delicious!!!! Dessert Brownie Choc. Went to the restaurant last Saturday night December 19th. The food and service was good, but there was no social distancing. The restaurant was packed to capacity. This restaurant should be investigated by New York State. Will never go back again. It was supposed to be at 50%. In the foyer getting in was packed. In this Covid environment beware. Great food, just like I remember. 2 problems. 1. I ordered a Macallan 18 and got the 12. There is no mistaking the smell, taste and color between the two. 2. Wow! Same name but not the same experience...our Plainview LaPiazza was closed and ordered our usual instead at the Melville location...1/2 pepperoni pie and a Caesar salad. The pizza crust was hard, thick and cold, the salad was a box of romaine lettuce with dressing on the side that didn't cover a third ...croutons were nothing like the homemade from the Plainview location but like something from the grocery store...lesson learned. Went yesterday for dinner the food was good , but wasn't too happy with how crowded it was the first table they sat us at was too close to a large party the waiter moved us to another table after I explained I'm not comfortable to how close we are at that point we were asked to get up from that table, they brought us to because they needed it for a larger party he then brought us to the garden room but he couldn't find a table for us only to bring us back inside I asked if we can please just sit in the booth with the lucite divider I explained that I did request this when I made the reservation the lady responded we can't accommodate everyone ?? read more

I had such a pleasant experience here tonight. My date had the Lasagna Al Forno and I had the Shrimp pasta with breadcrumbs. It was delicious. I just wish I had a few more pieces of shrimp and that they were a bit bigger. The Lasagna Al Forno was amazing. I would definitely come back just to have this. My husband and I always get take out from La Piazza because the service is awesome. Ask for extra bread and they give you tons more. The food is consistently good so you always know what to expect. The orders are never messed up which is amazing because we live like 20 mins away. I can't say enough about this place. We were throwing a small, surprise birthday party for about 20 people. I looked all over the island for some place to accommodate a smaller party. Went here for dinner last night. We didn't want to drive to Plainview La Piazza so went here. The food was mediocre at best , but had Il Mulino type prices! The sauce especially was way to sweet and chicken parm for $27 is insane and not worth $20. The decor is nice so I guess that is what you are paying for. read more

Pretty disappointed. It was supposed to be my Valentine's Day dinner, we had a reservation for about a week, and they sat us next to the bathroom? Come on. I would love to tell you what the ambience of the restaurant was, but I wouldn't know. Would have enjoyed being seated in one of the nice booths with the back lights, but I guess we weren't good enough. We were taken through the back of the restaurant and seated in the same line as the bathrooms. Really romantic. Picture the help on the bottom floor in Titanic, that was us. Horrible. Our waiter, while a nice guy, didn't know much about the menu. He brought out the incorrect drink for my fiancé. My meal also came out before his. The food is definitely not worth the ticket price. The roasted potatoes are pretty bad. They tasted mostly of dill. The mussels we ordered didn't really have any flavor. It was loaded with garlic, but that was the only thing we tasted. The bread was alright. The fact that they have a valet is questionable. Our dinner lasted less than an hour and we had an appetizer. I was left with an empty wine glass and had to flag down the waiter for a refill. The couple next to us had about 4-5 different people coming to their table to check on them. Maybe if I wore some snakeskin boots the waiter would have been more helpful, I don't know. We felt rushed, like we weren't allowed to sit in the actual restaurant, and disgusted. $130 Valentine's Day dinner in less than an hour and we won't be back. The food is similar to brio and they shut down. Would have had a better time at the Olive Garden............and been seated correctly WITHOUT a reservation. read more

Normally I have a great experience here. Always great service and consistently good food. Tonight I placed an order for pizza and garlic knots. I was told 20 to 25 mins. When I arrived I called for curbside pick up and the gentlemen came out quick to get the money. Thennnnn I didn't see him for 25 mins. When I called back to find out what's going on, a very nice lady said she will find out what's going on. The pizza and knots came out and Ice cold. The funny thing is, I can see them through the window. The man who took my money was watching tv and talking to his co workers while my pie was sitting in the pick up window, not on the oven like a normal pizza place does. When I called back about this cold ass pizza and rock hard knots, they did offer to deliver a new order. I obviously refused cause I wouldn't trust what they do to the food after I complained. I didn't tip because of the poor service and the cold food, but I would go back again but not for a while. I'll be going to the Plainview location for a while. read more

I can't say enough about la piazza. We gathered there after a funeral service. The staff was stellar ... as was the food. Everyone was kind compassionate and pleasant and tended to every need. During such a difficult time it is most appreciated to be in such a beautiful setting We had dined at this restaurant several times before and always had a good experience. The best meatballs on Long Island. The gravy was perfectly seasoned and not sweet like most Italian restaurants in the area. The clams casino was a very small portion but very good with a nice garlicky flavor. The veal piccata has a ton of flavor and a nice size portion. The stuffed rigatoni was a small portion; however, they were very good and the mozzarella cheese in the gravy made the dish. read more

Ate here on Saturday night. Table for 5 with 6PM reservation. Very crowded and noisy with music playing above the din. Imagine at 7:20 the hostess come up to the table and tells you there are people waiting and you have to get up. During the dinner they threw the food at you and started cleaning the table before everyone was finished. Is that the way an upscale restaurant acts? Beside the food was so so, with the fish fine, and the lasagna just a bunch of mozzarella and sauce with very little substance. For that price, not worth it. Came here with 2 others for a work dinner while on a business trip. Table bread was good. I had the veal, lighted breaded in a parmesan coating, cooked in EVOO and garlic. It was very good, but could have used more garlic for my tastes. The cut of veal was above average, and they did a good job cooking it without making it overly rubbery or hard. Meal came with a salad with their house Italian dressing. Very good little salad. Had a cannoli for dessert, which was nice and crisp on the outside, and very tasty. Wasn't 100% filled all the way through (empty in the center), which was a little disappointing. Service was very good, and we enjoyed the atmosphere. I would come back! read more

Please be aware that this restaurant charges a 3.5% fee on your bill if you pay by credit card. A steep price if you have a bigger bill. It's the first time in a year that I've been charged a fee for using a credit card, and they say it's due to Covid. We go out to dinner or order in very frequently and want to support our local restaurants and again have never been charged a service fee to use a credit card. Upon leaving, we were told that one of our cars was side swiped in the parking lot. They took no responsibility and said the valet service was responsible. They also said that valet parking was optional. However when you pull in to their establishment there is a sign that says STOP, VALET PARKING. We were not given the option to Self park. Very disappointed in our experience tonight. I have never written a negative review, but I felt compelled to do so this time. There are a lot of great places in the Huntington , Melville area to have dinner, skip this one read more

They charge you $2.00 for ice if you order a drink "on the rocks"....thats $2.00 more than the same drink without ice or a drink with a mixer in it".....it is not published anywhere and when we complained ....the manager ...I think his name was Luca....was the rudest most unapproachable man you've ever met...not only did he refuse to adjust the bill for the lousy $2 but his gross disregard for the satisfaction of his customers left me with a severe distaste for this place...he told us not to come back if we didn't like it and I will certainly take him up on it. He even spoke poorly of his other location...He said the Plainview location was nothing more than a pizzeria....you should go to the Plainview location...it's so much better...the food is excellent and they know how to treat people. read more

Seven of us met up for drinks & apps for happy hour on Friday. They have half price on most drinks and apps until 6:30. I started off with a glass of Riesling, which was $7, and white peach sangria (yum!) which was $9. The mini rice balls & zucchini were good. The service was good. I wouldn't recommend this place for happy hour. Aside from being a tiny space, the crowd (and I use the term loosely because you could only fit 5 other people in that space) was senior citizen age. If you're going to try this place, its probably better to go for lunch or dinner. read more
