OK, we are out there in the boonies and are looking for a place to eat. I am not expecting much but the Yelp ratings are good. The good: Food is actually not bad and really has a touch of Italy, especially the sugo flavor which brought back memories from my many visits in Italy. The OK: The owner clearly has not yet been to Italy because all the décor, paint schemes, wall decorations, wine selections, furniture, etc, nothing, niente como in Italia. Owner: why not change a few things, like the French paintings? Go get some Chianti bottles and put that up for display, and change that horrible industrial lighting. It will go a long way. I love my town, but our dining out options are sadly limited. When La Siciliana opened up in October my husband and I tried it right away. We've eaten there twice now and both times were impressed by the flavors and the friendly service. It's sometimes hard in a small town to review businesses honestly because we all kind of know each other and if you want to stay friendly you can feel pressured into saying nothing but "it's great". But Kapila, the owner, has been very open to reviews and feedback and is working hard to provide what diners want while also staying true to his vision and his food. Things he's doing right: the quality of food is excellent. Real ingredients, locally sourced and/or organic when possible. Dough, sauces, and meatballs are all made in house and they taste like it. (The meatballs are especially delicious - hand formed with local beef and pork and filled with pine nuts and fresh herbs) The dining room and kitchen are meticulous and maintained with pride. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. And finally, he's got Lagunitas IPA, Scrimshaw Pale Ale, and Angry Orchard Hard Cider (along with the usual fare) on tap for us beer lovers. One thing of note: the prices are not low. If you think about the quality of the ingredients this makes sense. But if you're thinking of pizza for dinner especially for a family, it can be more than you're used to paying. If expense is a factor for you, lean towards the pasta which is a good value for the amount of food (especially when you get meatballs which only add $3 to the cost and are seriously tasty and filling) and the dinner salad which is only $7 and is easily enough for two people. All in all, I'm glad this restaurant is here and I hope it sticks. In a time when it seems like only high-end restaurants actually make food from scratch, this an everyday eatery well worth supporting. read more

This place is a gem! My honey and I travel the 101 often and have seen this place numerous times but never stopped until today-and now we will stop often! This place has great options for pasta. I had the Penne pasta with Garlic and Herb sauce and added Sausage-it was delicious! Food was delicious, fresh, and fast; service was excellent and friendly. My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way to Humboldt County in July because we wanted some pasta and this is the first restaurant that popped up on a Google search. We are so happy we ate here because it was just such a wonderful experience to lighten our 12 hour trip from Southern California. We were instantly greeted upon entering the restaurant. We were seated immediately and taken care of very well by a middle-aged server who seemed to be the manager or owner. I had the pesto gnocchi and my boyfriend had fettuccini alfredo. Both dishes were excellent and the pesto cream sauce was to die for!! The most delicious pesto cream sauce I've ever had right next to Tomaso's pesto sauce. The restaurant was very clean and so was the restroom. Everyone seemed to leave happy and I remember our tab to come out to an affordable price. Worth your stop! You know how you go to Willits for the fine dining? Oh wait, no you don't, because: Willits. We've driven through Willits a billion times, and have given most of our money to Taco Bell or Subway. But, feeling fancy, we Yelped for a sit-down place, and we weren't disappointed-- we were instead really surprised by how good this place was. Between all of us, we had the gnocchi in some pesto-y sauce, meatballs, caprese, regular salad, breadsticks, and something else I'm not remembering, and every dish was very good! It also didn't take too much time, which you don't have if you're dining in Willits. Also, not very pricey for really good food and good service. My boyfriend and I moved to Willits March 30th. The earlier stages of the Covid pandemic. We love to eat at family/local restaurants. We also love pizza, and had been looking at La Siciliana for a long time before we got food yesterday. We decided that pizza was the first outside food we would eat since Covid. No pressure or anything but our first outside food had better be good. Boy was it. I called and ordered the large Firemans Fury, and got a couple of cups of ranch. When I arrived to pick up, the first thing I noticed was how clean this place was. I was greeted right away and was warned that the pizza would be spicy hot. Loaded my ranch cups in a travel safe way and I was off. The pizza itself was yes indeed very spicy but in the best way. The amount was cheese was perfect and he wasn't shy on the garlic or pepperoni. I was in pizza heaven. My Italian boyfriend wasn't disappointedly all either said we will be making this a regular in our food outings. The ranch itself was the best pizza house ranch I've ever had in my life. I want to buy a gallon and put it on everything. We will be back very soon. The beer selection was perfect for me too. All of my favorites there, when we feel comfortable dinning in again we will be back for a proper pizza and beer night. I don't write a lot of reviews, their either really good and I want to share or they are so bad I have to say beware, this was easily one of the top three worst pizzas I have ever had. The staff was very friendly and I enjoyed their company, but after taking my meal back home to eat, well I was left with a lot to be desired. Burnt to a charcoal, next to no sauce, it was nothing more then burnt toast with a teaspoon of ketchup with minimal sausage, and pepperoni. .. For 20.00$ and some change for a 10" pizza, that pie should be excellent, not some petrified Frisbee! ! No wonder the place was empty, that should have been a clue. read more

This place may be a little more expensive but they do use real mozzarella, organic veggies and locally raised sausage from Roundmans. They offer pasta too and from what I understand they will expand the pasta menu soon to include more sauces! The staff was lovely. We loved Candace! And the owner Kapila is warm and inviting! Went there last night for a bite to eat as we are staying at the Baechtel Inn for one night before taking the Skunk train in the morning. We had four adults and four kids with us and good thing we had called early to reserve a table in the back- restaurant seats about 30 total. Would recommend the spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs- the meatballs were actually really good. The breadsticks were good too. Only complaint was that the food took awhile to come out (we waited at least 30 mins) adults food came out before the kids pizza (they were not happy but the breadsticks sufficed) so that would have been the only issue we had with the place- read more

Stop here for the best Italian dinner! We highly recommend stopping in here for a phenomenal meal!! My husband and I enjoyed every bite!! Russell was our server and recommend the raviolis florentine with pesto. We enjoyed a ceasar salad, fresh bread with dipping sauce, my husband had the pasta with the house sauce. Everything was EXCELLENT!!! It was the best service we have had in a long time. He was knowledgeable, polite, and attentive. We will be coming back just to eat here. My wife and I have passed by and his place for years. Tonight I had a craving for pasta and I saw online that they have cannoli on their menu...so off we went. We were in a little after 7 on a Saturday night and had no wait for a table. The server was very cheerful but she informed us that they had sold out of cannoli. After assuring us that the pasta made up for the lack of cannoli we ordered. I had the penne pasta with the house Sugo red sauce ($9.95) and my wife had ravioli Florentine with the same sauce ($12.95). We each ordered 2 house made meatballs ($2.50 each) as well. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the meatballs were good but needed some salt. For me the highlight was the Sugo sauce. Bright and flavorful with great tomato taste. A little sweet to offset the acid! My wife's ravioli were terrific as well. Note...if you order one of their other types of sauce they charge extra, then if you add meatballs or sausage they charge for that too. It can get pricey if you don't watch it. We're definitely coming back when they have cannoli! read more

I once lived in the Bay Area where dining is a fine art due to the size of the discerning population. Left long ago and went through restaurant withdrawal, so I don't expect much here in little old Willits. Add on the pandemic and the town's decline of fortune, we expect even less. We ended up her for my husband's birthday and I am sad to say that this was the singularly poorest dining experience of my life. Sitting outside next to the smart meter, the only waitress, who was clearly overworked but would bark out, "It will be an hour for any food." She was so busy taking phone orders, that depleted the red sauce, the meatballs and the one dessert, to bring water or utensils with the food. On top of this, 2 salads, a beer and one plate of tortellini came first to $76 dollars until I pointed out I was charged for 2 plates of tortellini, which brought it down to $58. The prosciutto in the Carbonara sauce was really ham. After the tip, I was out 70 of my hard earned dollars and incredulous at the shear paucity of it all. Did I mention the interior decor with the wall of our brave active duty soldiers? Oh my gosh, I just looked at the receipt again and I was charged for three salads - you'll see me back again for my $11-plus-tax refund! read more
