The service was amazing. The manager was very personable and kind. The restaurant is adorable very Instagram worthy acute spot for brunch with your friends to celebrate a special occasion. The food looked very good, but it wasn't as good as we thought it would be. We would still come back and try new things. I had the lemon pancakes, which were very good, but did not have as much lemon as I had anticipated. Overall a cute spot I would definitely try again. read more

Oh Lady Byrd... and all your TikTok ads. The only reason why I ventured out here is because my mother was so interested in trying the place out. I worked an overnight shift and then made a b line here with my mom. It was a Sunday so I was anticipating for it to be BUSY. I showed up 30 minutes after opening and luckily found parking. It is in a residential area, so good luck.. but they also offer valet. It was DEAD this Sunday morning. My mother and I waited for about 8 minutes before someone had came to sit us. We got seated and we both settled on getting the $38 per person brunch selection. This included steak and eggs, french toast, and lemon poppy seed pancakes. My mom opted for the classic benedict instead of steak and eggs. The french toast is phenomenal, the steak and eggs was also very tasty. I wasn't the biggest fan of the lemon poppy seed pancakes just because I am not too fond of either of those things. The plating is very cute with floral-decorated plates and heart-shaped ramikins. I washed this down with an iced chai which was pretty tasty too, I thought it had the right amount of milk and spice to it. The service was so-so. I think that's the biggest problem with this establishment, considering the other reviews as well. My waiter was actually pretty friendly, and we had a good conversation going. There were moments we were left unattended when we did need something so it was difficult to understand the lag, considering there weren't that many tables to tend to. There is 1 restroom for this establishment, a single-use one. It had mixed indoor and outdoor seating. The aesthetic is what draws people here, it is a perfect place for a photo op, but it looks like the service might be the thing to kill the joy here. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! This was the nastiest and I don't mean food, because we never got that part; spot I've ever been in. It's cosplaying as a restaurant; but really it looks like a hoarders home. We saw it had 3 1/2 stars on Yelp and a review an hour before we arrived said the tables were dirty...but we went anyway. My friend's young coworker recommended this spot since we were going to be in Echo Park. With it being the Saturday before Mother's Day, our 1st options were all unavailable. We made a reservation for 5 and were able to come in early. Parking sucks (only street parking) so we walked up to the entrance at different times. Upon walking up, my friend has her nose turned up and said "no we can't stay here, I just saw them bring groceries in" we of course laughed but she was dead serious. We asked a family how the food was and they said "ummm okay; but check what that have because they didn't have yada yada" hence the grocery store run, I guess. The outside seemed to have once been nice and picturesque; but now it's dirty dingy, and pretty darn gross. We debated on sitting inside or out for a bit (we were still trying). We opted for indoors. The owner (or who we were told was the owner) left her pack of cigarettes/lighter and phone on the table like this was her home. We sat, looked around, and my friend needed to go to the bathroom. When she returned she talked about how gross it was. There was a busboy walking around with the dirtiest, grossest shirt on. Completely unbelievable. Needless to say, we left up outta there and the pictures will speak volumes. read more

I've been here a couple of times before. The food was very good even if the service was sometimes slacking. Today the food was terrible. The service was not bad, but there seems to be a downward spiral happening here and the staff know it. They have a high maintenance ambience that needs to be well attended, and it is also starting to fray. I spent the rest of my day with indigestion and regretting our decision to eat here. read more

Date night in LA! I've seen this spot all over social media, so I really wanted to try this spot. They're most popular for brunch, but we visited during dinner. Parking: Every man for themselves lmao. Free street parking, but finding a spot was difficult. We parked down the street and walked over. Ambiance/Environment: Such a cute spot with lovely floral decor, bright lights, and comfortable seating. This spot is outdoors with roof coverings and heaters. When we visited, the place was decorated with butterflies, plants, & flowers. We visited at 18:30, and it wasn't busy. Just a few other groups. Service: We were greeted by a hostess and seated immediately. Our server, Alex, took care of us. We were told they only had beer & wine during that time which bummed me out because I really wanted to try their cocktails and coffee. Throughput was quick after ordering though. Food: 1) Short Ribs - The short ribs cut so easily, and it was mouthwatering. It was cooked medium rare, and the red wine sauce made it more flavorful. I mixed it with the mash potatoes too. 2) Creamy Shrimp Pasta - These were definitely creamy. Make sure you mix it well! It was served with peeled, baby shrimps. Just wished there were more shrimps. 3) Hummus & Pita - My bf loved this! The pita was toasted well, and the hummus had notes of citrus and garlic flavors. 4) Grilled Napa Cabbage - This was a simple, light appetizer. Pricing: This is LA, so of course prices are $$$. We enjoyed their dinner options. Wished they served more alcoholic drinks during dinner time. We'll be back to try their brunch options. read more

Food was not bad, was a little disappointed on the truffle parm fries since the fries and parm were separated and there was no truffle oil. Luckily they gave me truffle oil on the side but I had to ask for it. French toast was good but definitely on the sweeter side, surprisingly filling despite between two pieces of bread. read more

Went to dinner here last night. Asked for a beer that was on menu & was told they only had a beer that wasn't even on the menu. Asked for a soda on the menu server said they didn't have that either. Four of us ordered meals.. burger was wrong.. no cheese no onions. One of our guests ordered fish and chips and was given chicken fingers instead. When our guest asked if it was chicken fingers, the server needed to ask the kitchen at that point maybe it was the owner I'm not sure but she came out and said oh that the cook misunderstood and also they don't have fish and chips, but they would cook something else for our guest. Our guest ordered a burger. We were then told minutes later they ran out of burgers. So our guest being hungry only had the option to eat what looked like a childs chicken finger order for a meal. At that point the restaurant was not very full. It was probably 6:30 at night and the whole experience just left a very bad taste. I feel like all of the employees at this restaurant need to be on the same page. They probably need to know what's on the menu and what's not it was definitely a weird experience. Needless to say the whole vibe was off. Maybe it's a better place for breakfast and brunch and nonetheless we went there because of the good reviews but for dinner it was slow staffed and the food wasn't anything special. I had the spaghetti marinara and sorry to say but the dish barely had any flavor. When you read reviews and get excited about the ambience & the food and then from the minute, you get there, it just keeps going downhill leaving there we were all confused about the experience and a little saddened read more

The staff are very very nice at Lady Byrd. However, I would not recommend to eat here. We had a reservation and still had to wait about 30 minutes for our table. The food was fine but nothing amazing as far as flavor. We also felt that they were being stingy w the proteins ( the pulled pork benedict could have had more pork, the brisket pastrami sandwich could've had more brisket pastrami). Water was served lukewarm warm and lastly, parking is difficult to find. Due to all of these, I wouldn't come back here or recommend this place. But again, the staff were all very nice! read more

Terrible service! There was one waiter specifically that just shouldn't have this type of job. Even some of the employees there told my family she was always in a bad mood. I advise that if your family only speaks Spanish or any language other than English to stay away from this place. Sadly my family only speaks Spanish and the waiters there were not attentive with them like they were with other tables. They took their drinks one by one whenever they wanted and weren't nice about it either. They sadly didn't get the name of the waiter that gave them a bad attitude the whole time but if the employees there know her to be like this I think the owner and manager know of it too and have not done anything about it. Like the other one star reviews said, the food was bland and not good. All the cute videos on Instagram and tiktok are basically false promotion. It seems that they prioritize influencers and not real customers. I would recommend for you to go somewhere else and not waste your time here because how can you go to a place where the cleaning staff are more helpful than the actual waiters. read more

This place has amazing staff. The food lives up to the word of mouth, amazing. The pancakes are delicious and will invite my family and friends to come by and try out their dishes. Such a cute, delicious, comforting place smacked dabbed in the middle of a neighborhood. Truly a neighborhood gem. Brought my mom and sister here for brunch and we all agreed how cute this place is. From your own private greenhouse to sit in outside to the blankets left on the chairs should you need them, there are sweet little things to notice. The vanilla lattes were good and the dirty chai latte had a great spice and sweetness to it. They have this great savory and sweet brunch option that allows you to enjoy the two: $33 - Benedict and split pancakes and French toast $38 - Steak and eggs and split pancakes and French toast DO GET THE STEAK AND EGGS OPTION. It's a good amount of food and a great bang for your buck. The steak was cooked just like I asked. I opted for salad but you can also get potatoes instead. Thai also includes toast. Then you get your split portions of both lemon poppy pancakes and French toast. I REALLY liked the honey cream and strawberries on top. The flowers on the tables, the little heart containers, and the mix of plate styles/designs were all very pretty. Our server was super sweet and friendly. They do have a valet service if needed. I dunno. Paid $100 for mediocre food and non existent service. The food was bland, im sure the chicken was frozen and microwaved. The salad seemed like it was pre bagged kit. The ambience is great, but its tough for everyone right now so if you are going to charge so much restaurants need to show up. This was so depressing that its making me rethink eating out. read more

Visited on 12/22 I visited during the Christmas time and really came to get in the Christmas spirit with all the nice decorations. We got there around 1PM and there was no wait. We opted to sit in a greenhouse, just be careful if you're tall in there. The ambiance was everything we expected. For the food we ordered the burrito with the side salad and the pastrami sandwich with the fries. The portions were a tad too small in our opinion as we could've ate a bit more to feel full. The portion of the fries was plenty. The burrito tasted average and the salad was good. The sandwhich had a nice toast to it and could've used a bit more meat, nice flavor. The staff are kind and constantly check in. This is a nice place to come in small or big groups in a cozy environment. read more

Update- back again and again and always so grateful for this space- it's absolutely beautiful!!!! The owner is a gem, and cares so much to assure all is great! The details here are incredible - both aesthetics (magical and picturesque garden in every area) bird houses to additional seating - all the decor is absolutely charming and beautiful!! I always have a great time when I take someone new to this place. I always ask to eat outside inside the little bird houses. The environment is intimate and it is only you and that person in nature. That is how you feel and the service is always amazing the servers always attentive of the client. H food was delicious I had a breakfast sandwich and it was delicious with the potatoes. My date had the French toast and they were brick French toast and so fluffy. I will come again and again and again. If you have a special someone please take them there, they will love it! read more

Oof wish I could say better things about the cafe as it's a very pretty garden setting for a meal. Unfortunately Service and food was horrific although the fresh juice cocktails were very good after we asked for ice to cool them down. It Took 90 minutes to get our food which arrived stone cold (cold eggs are not so appetizing) and non of our orders were correct and missing items that were listed on the menu. . Plates arrived missing items as listed on menu. Also one surprise was the limited menu. There was no indication on website, social media or anywhere about the limited price fix menu that was going to be offered for Mothers Day. Again very nice and pretty spot , food and service are a complete shitshow even with the limited menu. . . We witnessed People with reservations who were waiting for 40 minutes who still had not been seated. . . .good luck . read more

Reservation at 6, showed up early and was able to be seated. People that had later reservations were seated very late or had their spot cancelled by the restaurant. Very unorganized system for reservations and seating. Ambiance was terrible, the whole place was cold. Sat in a cold dark corner by an empty bar. Our poor server didn't even know how the menu worked and was scrambling around every table. Be nice to that man ;-; 6 pm, was already out of hummus... The fixed menu was already small and they were already out of items. The low price of $62 for prix fixe should've been the first red flag. Food took so long to come. When it did come, the cook served it to us ALL at once. Every dish besides the dessert came out together, all COLD. Steak was asked to be med rare- it was well done like it was cooked up by Chef Mike.... Looked like the bottom of a shoe... tasted like it too. Parsnip soup was unlike anything I've ever tasted in my life. It had the strangest flavor profile I kept laughing eating it. It was really sweet, spicy, oniony, and felt like baby food. The fries were limp and sad. The Cesar salad was pathetic. The calamari was limp. Chicken Milanese was over fried until it became stringy and chewy. ALL the food was so bland I had to douse everything in salt and pepper. Worst part was we were starving so we ate almost everything- making it looked like we loved the food .... Cheesecake was best part. Wasn't good but it was something... My boyfriend's slice was hilariously small in comparison to mine. Surprised it didn't come with the rest of the food at once. Left the place to see a line of unfortunate couples that had no idea what they were about to experience... If you got your spot cancelled by the place, YOU ARE LUCKY! That was a highway robbery. Can't recommend this place enough. I've been here for birthday brunches with friends, and even to get breakfast during a zoom meeting without any judgment from staff, lol (not how I usually like to do Zooms or breakfast, but just had to do both that day.) Every time the service is phenomenal, and the food is delicious. We've been to Lady Byrd many times. Not for the food -- which is usually fine but forgettable -- but for the charming patio and the illusion of European café charm. But our most recent visit? That was the day the illusion shattered like a dropped plate in their chaotic kitchen. We had a reservation. What we didn't have was a heads-up that the à la carte menu had been tossed in favor of a "Mother's Day special" menu -- where one-third of the options were already unavailable. It was like being handed a short story and told, "Sorry, the middle and end are missing. Enjoy!" We placed our drink orders right away... and then waited 20 minutes to actually receive them. The place was overbooked, and it showed -- tables packed, servers sprinting, food going to the wrong guests. Every table around us was visibly frustrated. There was no system. Just vibes. Bad ones. Then came dessert. Before the main courses. Only two out of the three. But hey, maybe that was a blessing, because the poppyseed pancakes were so dry and uninspired they could've doubled as construction material. They were slapped on the plate with all the care of a fast food wrapper, completely devoid of presentation or flavor. After nearly 90 minutes, the food arrived. The frittata was really a limp omelet, smothered in what must have been half a bag of unwashed, undressed spring mix. Just sad, soggy leaves tossed on top like they were hoping the mess would hide the mediocrity. The Bolognese -- or what should've been -- first arrived as shrimp pasta. We sent it back. It looked like something invented during a grocery crisis and a head injury. Now let's talk about the owner -- the root of the dysfunction. She wandered the restaurant like a bored extra in a low-budget European reality show, clutching her pack of cigarettes like they were doing more work than she was. Not once did she greet guests, help her staff, or even feign interest in the fact that her restaurant was in full collapse. She was tailed by a poor kid in post-apocalyptic jogging pants that looked like he fell asleep in them in 2019 and never woke up. The pants were so offensively lived-in they had what looked like a pee stain -- judging by the location and the damp sadness radiating from the fabric. Was he a greeter? A hostage? A social experiment? No idea. But his presence only added to the surreal, slow-motion trainwreck unfolding around us. When my wife politely asked the owner for the check, she reacted like we'd just asked her to scrub toilets. Not a word. Not a blink. Just a sharp turn of the head and a barked "CHECK!!" at one of her staff. It was humiliating to witness -- not just as a guest, but as someone who's managed restaurants and knows exactly how hard these servers were working to hold this mess together. Because let's be clear: the staff were trying. They were running, apologizing, doing damage control. They deserved better. The problem wasn't them. The problem was the woman in charge, who treated the role of "manager" like a fashion accessory she didn't want to carry. There was no structure, no communication, no leadership. Dishes were getting cold while servers wandered the garden with plates in hand, unsure where anything went. The only consistent thing about this brunch was how wrong it went -- from start to finish. We spent $140 on what amounted to a stress test disguised as brunch. Shrimp in the Bolognese. A salad poured from a plastic bag. Dry pancakes that could injure a pigeon. And the kind of "hospitality" that makes a DMV visit feel warm. Lady Byrd Café is beautiful on the outside and broken at the core. It's brunch cosplay, curated for Instagram, but backed by zero substance. If you want to eat good food, be treated decently, or just leave without rage-sweating, go literally anywhere else. DO NOT GO....Visited today for first time on mother's day. We were seated on time and greeted at the entrance by the manager/ owner. Very cute place and had seen good reviews. Immediately we see they are understaffed. Not the staff fault. They were hustling in the heat and trying to manage the busy traffic today. Also they had a set brunch menu that was not advertised with limited menu items. The food choices didn't make sense like pasta with pancakes. PIt took about 20 minutes to get our drinks. After 30 more minutes we got cold pancakes that we just couldn't eat so did ask to be sent back. They did quickly arrive hot, but it took another 30 minutes before we received the rest of our order. It was difficult to enjoy as our meal came out in pieces and we hated to ask for anything like additional drinks, utensils or anything else because we could see the staff struggling. We could also see the woman that greeted us getting upset with the staff. Before we left we asked to speak to the manager who she quickly corrected that she was the owner. I said.... Today was our first time here and before I could finish she rudely replied "and I know and it's the worst day you could've come". I then went on to say I know today is busy but we just wanted to give some feedback on how the food came out separately and took long. Once again she was rude and now standing over our table stating they were doing their best and wanted to give us something to eat so they sent out food separately. At this point I stated ....is this how you speak to your customers that are just giving you feedback. She was clearly annoyed went on to tell me how she turned away a thousand people today , although we had reservations. She then stated I guess everything was bad today and I replied at this point yes and I can't believe you are speaking to people like this and women of color. She was proud to respond.... If it makes you feel better I just said the same to a white guy. She then grabbed our check from the table and said just get out! I have never seen such rude behavior and continued to tell us to just get out. At this point she's loud and this is outdoor seating. Very disappointed that she took out her frustration on us and based on other reviews today it's consistent with other customers as well. We really wanted to give this place a chance and even understood that they were busy today but the rude behavior from the owner was unacceptable. Will never patronize someone like this. I would give no stars but that one star is earned by the staff (waiters, bussers...) who were doing their best to be attentive to the diners, even if the service was slow. I had heard about this awesome garden like place. I had seen pictures of a place which I thought " that's a great place to take my mom and sister for Mothers Day celebration!". Hopes we're high, reality, that was another story. I made reservations & had to check in at 1:20 pm. We arrive a few minutes early and waited since there was no host/ess to greet diners. After checking with a couple of employees to check in a woman comes and stands in front of me and just stares without saying a word. I thought she was an impolite costumer trying to exit ( she was wearing a cross over bag and a pack of cigarettes on hand). After i said "excuse me" she asked if I needed something. Once I shared I was checking in and she asked if we had reservations I figured she worked there. To make a long story short, they sat us literally in a bird cage, which was cute but on one of the hottest days of the weekend?!! not so much. We asked to be switched to a shaded area several times, never happened. We asked the woman who we thought was the manager( cigarettes woman- later found out she's the owner!) she walked away ignoring us and never came back to check in. It took a very long time to get water... We eventually placed our order which we ended up canceling because it became to much. Between the heat and lack of service/ attention we decided to leave. I paid for a warm mimosa which I took one sip and a couple of other drinks only. I understand it is Mothers Day and it gets busy but management/ owner needs to step it up, learn a bit about customer service, good manners and learn how to use your employees effectively. The staff seemed to be doing their best with what they had but with her lingering around, useless, doing nothing, this business is loosing a lot of potential. An Unforgettable Breakfast Experience at Lady Byrd cafe If you're looking for one of the best breakfast spots near Dodger Stadium, you have to visit Lady Byrd cafe. From the moment you walk in, you're surrounded by beautiful flowers, charming outdoor tables, and a peaceful, romantic atmosphere that instantly makes you feel relaxed and welcome. The food was absolutely outstanding. The breakfast menu offers an incredible variety of dishes, and everything we ordered was delicious. My favorites were the breakfast burritos, pancakes, and waffles--all cooked to perfection. They also have an amazing coffee selection, with something for everyone, whether you like a simple cup of coffee or a specialty drink. What truly made our visit unforgettable was the exceptional customer service. A huge thank you to Julio, who went above and beyond to make our family feel cared for. My sister-in-law has cancer and follows a special diet. When Julio noticed her dietary requests, he kindly asked if there was anything he should know to better accommodate her. After she shared her situation, he told us he is also a cancer survivor. His compassion, understanding, and genuine kindness meant more to our family than words can express. I'd also like to recognize Alex, who provided outstanding service to the rest of our table. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure my wife, children, and everyone in our party had everything we needed. Both Julio and Alex delivered Grade A customer service that is hard to find these days. Lady Byrd isn't just a great place to eat--it's a place that makes you feel at home. Between the incredible food, beautiful atmosphere, and the amazing staff, this is the kind of restaurant you'll want to come back to again and again. Absolutely Disgusting - Will Never Return I cannot believe how awful my experience was at Lady Bird Cafe. This place is by far the most disgusting and filthy restaurant I've ever been to. As soon as we arrived with our reservation, we were made to wait outside for five minutes with no explanation or even an acknowledgment from the staff. When we were finally seated, things didn't get any better. We were led to a table that had crumbs all over it, and the tablecloth was so dirty that none of us wanted to touch it. It looked like it hadn't been changed in days. We tried to ignore it, but it was clear this place wasn't taking hygiene seriously. The food? Don't even get me started. We ordered the veggie frittatas, egg sandwich, French toast, coffee lattes, and an Americano, and all of them were terrible. The veggie frittata was tasteless, with mushy vegetables that seemed like they'd been sitting there for way too long. The egg sandwich was awful and had no flavor at all. The French toast was cold and honestly, inedible. The coffee latte and Americano were both lukewarm and tasted like they had been sitting out for hours. Nothing was fresh, and everything tasted off. The worst part was the service. The staff was unhelpful and seemed like they couldn't care less about the customers. I honestly couldn't wait to leave and I definitely won't be coming back. I also wouldn't believe a word of the pictures they post online, what we got looked nothing like what was advertised. Don't be fooled by the pretty photos; the food here is a joke. After a leisurely two-hour wait (just enough time to age cheese or question your life choices), our food finally arrived... completely wrong. At that point, it felt less like a mistake and more like a hazing ritual. To their credit, the servers were genuinely kind--overworked, visibly stressed, and clearly doing their best to stay afloat in a ship that's sinking fast. Unfortunately, their efforts were undermined by the café's ringmaster: an owner so aloof she seemed to be operating on a separate plane of existence. She wandered around in circles, clutching a pack of cigarettes like a comfort blanket, exuding the energy of someone who had absolutely no intention of helping. When my mom politely asked for the bill, the owner didn't even glance in her direction--she just barked at one of the servers like she was calling over a stray. And the cherry on top? A young male staff member--possibly a teenager--shuffling around in sweatpants and sneakers that were already a questionable wardrobe choice, made even more memorable by the very visible, very unfortunate stain on them.
