In LA dropping daughter off at her Rave and my wife wanted to come here after seeing it one day but not able to go. So we got here and luckily found a parking spot right away because it does involve street parking and we were right in front. At first we walked around to see everything because they have an area that is specifically for brunch that is quite unique and great. (See Pics) Finally we sat down, and just ordered a couple things to share. Got the Smoked Brisket Pastrami sandwich with Truffle Fries. Also got the grilled asparagus to share as well. My wife also got a Lemon Drop Martini. The martini was very good and tasty. Wife just wanted more. The Brisket Pastrami was really good. The slaw and cheese did mask the taste of the pastrami just a tad but it was so good. The asparagus were cooked to perfection. Not too soft and not too hard. Perfect snap/crunch to them. We decided we will definitely come back on a weekend early so we can sit in the other section so we can feel the vibe there eating Brunch. This little hidden oasis is perfect for a date night or lunch out with you special one. Come here and you won't be disappointed.

Starting with the location and ambience, I thought this place was super cute. It has a very homey vibe and felt like I was eating in a friend's backyard patio, which I loved. I was also a big fan of the floral decor. Unfortunately, the ambiance was the main plus of the experience for me. Service was pretty slow, and it took a while to locate our server once we were ready to order food. I had the Creamy Shrimp Pasta which was solid, but nothing special. The flavors were pretty simple and felt like something that could be replicated at home. The sangria was ok. Likely wouldn't order this again.

Brunch in an amazingly beautiful spot with friends... Wait... I mean not just brunch. Dinner too! You know SoCal has such long daylight hours, which means you have plenty of time to enjoy a full meal while soaking in the beautiful atmosphere. This elegant, floral garden-inspired restaurant is just as dreamy during the day as it is at night. Meat lovers, this steak is a must! So juicy and perfectly cooked. And you can never go wrong with a creamy pasta for dinner, right? Oh! Almost forgot... it's super close to Dodger Stadium, so it's the perfect spot to grab dinner before or after a game. Bonus point! Bonus point! Ig: socalhkfoodies

I've been to Lady Byrd Cafe multiple times now and it truly never disappoints. It's one of those places I keep coming back to, not just for the food but for the entire experience. The ambiance is beautiful, relaxing, and just feels like the perfect escape whether you're catching up with friends or having a slow brunch with family. It has that elevated yet comfortable vibe that makes you want to stay a little longer. As for the food, everything I've tried has been consistently delicious. My go-to orders are the Luxe Plate, which is a smoked salmon bagel plate that's both fresh and satisfying, and the steak and eggs. The steak is especially memorable... perfectly cooked and packed with so much flavor. It's rare to find a spot that delivers both great food and atmosphere every single time, but Lady Byrd Cafe really does. Definitely one of my favorite brunch spots and always worth the visit.

We went early in the morning and were seated quickly. Wasn't busy when we went and there was plenty of parking out on the street. The ambiance was very serene- very cozy garden vibes. There were a few mosquitoes flying around- nothing a little bug repellent can't fix. Food was delicious; we tried their lemon poppy pancakes, their Spanish frittata, pulled pork egg Benedict, and bacon breakfast burrito. Everything was delicious. Lovely establishment, quick service, our waitress was okay.

I almost didn't want to share this place... but it's just too beautiful not to. This café truly feels like a hidden forest escape in LA. The moment you walk in, it's full of greenery and cozy, magical vibes--like a little fairy garden tucked away in the city. I even brought my dog, and it made the whole experience feel even more relaxing. We ordered the lemon poppy seed pancakes, eggs benedict, and pasta, and everything was honestly so good. The presentation was beautiful, and you can tell they really care about the details. Even the tea was served in the prettiest teacups, which made the whole moment feel extra special. There's also a hidden outdoor patio area filled with flowers, and it feels like a secret spot you accidentally discovered. Perfect place to unwind, take cute photos, and just enjoy the atmosphere. Definitely coming back especially want to see how it feels at night

One phrase comes to mind when I think of Lady Byrd Cafe--"hidden gem"! The ambiance makes you think of grandma's cottage meets a whimsical fairy tale garden. The floral plates and decor are a welcome comforting change from the typical neutral based interiors that have overtaken LA interiors. The waiters are adorable and warm with lots of smiles that make this a perfect spot to reenergize your soul. Ok, onto the food. I got the Lady Byrd Burger which came with two patties and fries. Delicious. Absolutely delicious. I'm looking forward to my next visit with friends!

Lady Byrd Cafe is a literal dream! We sat on the floral patio and the whimsical garden vibe is unmatched. It's the perfect aesthetic spot for a brunch date with the girlies. What we ordered: * Breakfast Salmon Tart ( flatbread-style puff pastry) * Salmon Benedict * Chopped Salad * Side of Prosciutto * Earl Grey Tea & Cappuccino Everything was delicious and the service was great. If you're in Echo Park and want a beautiful garden atmosphere, this is the spot!

While the atmosphere appears appealing for date night or brunch, the service was unsatisfactory. We tried calling for reservation and received an automated message of full inbox. Upon arrival, there was no one greeting us nor signs showing where to wait to be seated. When our host (the only server at 10 AM Saturday) finally sat us, we were not informed of shortages of specialty menu until we placed order. Then we had to check the menu again. The food arrived and tasted without uniqueness. Additionally the price for 1/2 an avocado at $4 and prices for the small servings on each plate were much higher than the quality. The pancake and frittata we chose were not common menu items, yet they didn't have much texture nor amount to enjoy. Would you pay $20 for 2 pancakes slightly mushy and not flavorful?

    Michele L.

I have been back here a few times since my first visit. It's a fabulous outdoor cafe. They've updated the decor and menus since then which is more beautiful. Honey Yogurt $12 Beautiful presentation! Loved it! Steak & Eggs $28 Served with choice of bread, blueberry jam and butter & Pamolona potatoes Smoked Brisket Pastrami $22 Thinly sliced brisket. One of my favorites! Beef Burger $23 Made with Grass fed beef. Added a sunny side egg to make it a brunch burger. Latte $7 Customer Service is wonderful!!

This neighborhood gem was a fantastic dining experience for our party of nine. I cannot given enough praise to this place. We dined for lunch on a Sunday. We had a reservation and our wait was not long. One could feel the energy and vibes all the way to the street. When we were brought to our table we passed by numerous really large parties. One in particular had over 30 patrons. Our seating was really comfortable. Rain was expected and we were lucky since there was no covering where we sat. Other parts of the restaurant were inside or covered. Our waiter was really great. Gave recommendations and was really patient and helpful. I ordered the Smoked Brisket Pastrami sandwich. It was a decent size, not huge and really well seasoned and flavorful. It had a tasty unique sauce, not overwhelming, with excellent presentation and served at the perfect temperature. I also ordered the Caesar Salad. It was huge, probably enough for three people (although I ate the entire dish and it was so good). My other guests ordered eight other dishes and everyone was really happy with their meals. This restaurant is nearly hidden but for a small sign. It is behind foliage except for the entrance. It really is a neighborhood place to dine but I'd recommend it to anyone within driving distance. All parking is on the residential streets and we were lucky to find a spot about 75 yards away. Other members of our group parked farther away. It's a friendly neighborhood with several other outdoor dining establishments although this restaurant felt like the best. I highly recommend dining here for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

12/14/25 An oasis in the middle of Echo Park, so pretty, the aesthetics are darling

12/15/25 BE PREPARED TO WAIT. If you're looking for a cute & adorable cozy & nature bound aesthetics, this place is perfect. The food is mediocre, portions are small & the service is lacking. On a Sunday at brunch time, Hubby & I were surprised we were seated fairly quickly, about 10 minutes. Our little seating area was outdoors in our very own "cage" (goes with the Lady Byrd theme). Each group of customers have their own tent or greenhouse adorned with lights & more greenery under a canopy of trees. There's indoor seating where it has more permanent roofing where the music is louder. We appreciated that our tent was farther from the din of noise. Sometimes trying a new place for adventure can be a good thing or disappointing. Ours is the latter. It took a good 20 minutes for our server acknowledge & to take our orders. I went with the brunch special: salmon Benedict, silver dollar pancakes with blueberry and strawberry compote & French toast, Hubby ordered the bacon burrito w/o potatoes. I wanted to test their regular coffee & as per usual Hubby got the oat milk latte. Amazingly the food & drinks arrived promptly. The presentation was nice. My salmon Benedict was okay, nothing mind blowing but the pancakes were pretty tasty especially with the compote & cream. The coffee was decent & it was actually piping hot. Hubby said the burrito was delicious, the sauce was savory. The server barely stopped by, just in time to clear out dishes. For the price we paid for brunch & the portion, was not proportional. The one thing that really soured the experience was the waiting. I waited for some amount of time just to receive my receipt. With the reviews & aesthetics, I expected a phenomenal experience. Street parking is a gamble, we found one a block away. It was good for a one time thing for the experience, definitely not worth trying again.

Fettucini Alfredo. $24.43. Chicken breast, asparagus, white sauce & Parmesan cheese.

It was on the "shared plate" menu, which to me means it will be a lot. But the 2 tamales were not very big. Still, they were so rich that the 2 really were sufficient to share. Quite filling. I couldn't get enough of the sauce! *Crab fried rice: Very tasty and generous portion. Plenty share! Not recommended: The street eats menu. Now, this is what pulled us in - the sights and smells of the food being grilled outside the restaurant. Most of which was on this meme. Like a tasting menu. But for price to portion ratio, it simply isn't worth it. I ordered the skirt steak. 4 oz, cut in half. Cooked down to what looked like .5 oz! Each on a toothpick sitting in a paper plate (or maybe it was cupcake holder?) IDK. I just know it wasn't a good presentation and the taste wasn't memorable. Regular. More grill smell than taste. Not at all worth $8. Service: Really nice. And mostly good. Though they did fail short by (1) Using only small appetizer size plates and (2) Not bringing a fresh plate to eat the crab fried rice on after the peanut butter sauce laced tamale appetizer was eaten. The server brought the fried rice, but didn't bother to give us fresh plates (nor silverware). My son was mortified when I grabbed a plate from one of the empty tables! (Teenager energy on full effect). But after initial attentive service, the variety of different servers whizzing by didn't stop to ask if we needed anything. And I sat waiting at least 8 minutes staring at the rice. I assured my young man that the servers would be fine with me getting another plate to save them from having to. And once I did, he suddenly started eating from my plate of my peanut butter free fried rice. And of course, when a server did attend to us and I let her know, she was glad I took matters into my own hands instead of not eating for 15 minutes. Thoughts: Go for dinner, and order from the full dinner menu, skip the skimpy street eats menu. With reservations you can sit in the main restaurant area that has some view to the outdoors. Without it - back to the black room you go! Know that it will be expensive. And it will be original. Not sure I'll go back. It's very "special occasion" upscale dining. But If I do it'll be with reservations. The meal was memorable and worth experiencing.

Between the courtyard, candlelight, lush greenery, and beautiful architecture, the whole place invites you to just slow down and really enjoy the company you're with. Chef Neal Fraser knew what he was doing. We ordered the Everything Parker Rolls, Kombu-Cured Hamachi (truly so flavorful), Black Cod, and the Lemongrass Ribs (super yum!!). Everything was amazing. Everything. The Parker Rolls with the date butter and the Black Cod were both so lovely. If it's your first visit and you have tastebuds, I'd definitely order both. The service matched the atmosphere perfectly. Everyone was warm and attentive. Valet was also very nice in DTLA. A special place for a special night with a special person.

Great service and comfortable place to dine post work or on the weekends…read more The appetizers were decent. The beef tartare was good flavor wise, but could have been better if the sour dough bread was a tad softer. The roasted figs with goat cheese were a little too sweet and the hamachi was not that memorable. For the mains, the truffle gnocchi was too salty, barely tasted the truffle, and the flavors were odd (too sweet and salty). The steak was cooked perfectly and would order it again. Overall, a fun place to try but have other restaurants I would want to visit before coming back to this place. Beef tartare - 8/10 Hamachi - 7/10 Roasted figs - 7.5/10 Steak frites - 8/10 Truffle gnocchi - 6/10

The staff is very attentive and will configure the restaurant and bar to fit your needs. This includes moving tables and setting up and monitoring the sound system. Because the venue is near the various courthouses and government buildings in the Civic Center area, the parties tend to be celebrations for judges, attorneys, police officers and other government workers. However, I have attended parties for other prominent people, including the owner of the charming little hotel above the restaurant. Hill Street Bar & Restaurant is also close to the museums and theater events on Grand Avenue which is just 2 blocks away. The food is terrific and the pours are generous. The service was lacking. When we walked in, the server said, "Pick a seat anywhere," and didn't even walk us to our table and give us menus. As we were chatting, he brought us means later. He brought the menus with water. Then we were given enough time to look at the menus, which I found lacking. I looked at Yelp to picture shop for dinner. Thanks y'all! I chose the 7-hour bolognese. It was delicious! Even though the cheese garlic bread sounded good, this is nothing but sub par French bread buttered, slightly toasted, with some kind of cheese puff powder on it. Not worth my time, taste, or calories. Somebody on here posted some delicious-looking chocolate chip cookies. We had to ask for them, now knowing that they come complimentary after the meal. However, they could have kept them! They are super thin, and taste like old butter. Meanwhile, my friend had the chicken. Another Yelper raved about the chicken, and my friend had her mind set on it. However, it turns out they do not have fried chicken; they just have the chicken from the chicken sandwich. I have never seen such a thin piece of chicken! It's like they pounded that meat until it could be the thinnest possible to fry. It was not delicious, so I offered my friend to eat some of my Bolognese. We had a sub-par experience. Been there, done that, don't need to do it again.
