I'd never had a crepe cake before, but we were walking by Lady M when a customer sitting outside told us their dessert was amazing, and we watched as she devoured it like a classy.... barbarian. That single conversation changed everything. Lady M makes mille crêpes, which I learned are basically layers and layers of ultra-thin crepes with pastry cream stacked into a cake. It's French pastry... perfected with Japanese precision. Light, refined, and not overly sweet. We tried the Original and the Tiramisu, and both were incredible. My friend said we had to go to this amazing cake store after our dinner. He really helped up the place too. When we got there the staff ended up scolding him for waiting in the wrong line, which is kind of funny because my friend is such a geek and "rule follower". He never gets scolded and it left a bad impression on us, because we were dining in. The place itself is completely sterile like a doctors office. Super bright white LED lights and no character at all. The cake's look incredible like something you would see in the hunger games. I ordered the Signature Mille Crepe and was curious to try all the different layers. It was just "okay" to me. I felt like all the layers didn't really add anything to the cake itself. Citron is composed of light lemon custard, subtle, with an admirable balance. Dubai Chocolate is trending, and this cake doesn't have the decadence of the actual chocolate. It's half silky chocolate cream, half layers of pistachio, crusted with those signature crunchies. Overall a delicious chocolate cake, but actual Dubai chocolate is quite different. Amazing cakes. Me and my family genuinely had a 5 star experience here from beginning to end. The cake slices were *perfect*. They were light and packed with flavor without being too sweet or overpowering. They paired super well with the delicious coffee and I loved the extra attention to detail like bringing steamed milk along with my Americano instead of cold milk without me asking for it. I came in wanting to buy a whole cake and i checked online to see if they can do an in inscription on the cake and found that they did but only before a certain time because the person that does the inscription goes home early depending on the day. But the concern is that the place is basically devoid of anyone but staff. There is a question of how long the cakes have been there given the low volume of people. Also the question of how long they can continue to stay open. The cakes are tasty, continues to be Lady M standard, but the cost of the cakes continue to be a marginal value. I've been buying cakes from Lady M for years and they never disappoint me. Yes, they are very pricy for cakes, but crepe cakes take a lot longer to make because of how many thin layers go into it. If you want to dine-in, they treat it like a sit-down service where you're handed a menu (which is only cake and tea), the waiter brings out the cakes and then you pay once you're done. I think this experience is a bit excessive for serving just cake; they do serve tea so I recommend dining in if you really want to have tea with their cakes. However, if you just want to have cake without the fancy dish ware then I think it's better to just take to-go and find a place outside to eat.
