I def like this place for happy hour. It's a tiki bar and they have a great happy hour every day. There's plenty of outside and indoor seating. You walk to the bar and order your beverage and find a seat. They have food fries here too. My happy hour wine was a nice heavy pour. They always have a slushy on happy hour too, the last time, it was a margarita style slush. They have a mammoth brewery beer that's cheaper than going to the brewery. The bartender wearing the green baseball jersey is the only guy who cares about customer service and you can tell. I've ran/opened a few restaurants myself and can honestly say this place is not the way to do it. Unless you're of the right skin complexion they are not going to properly take care of you. (Except that bartender) The food was like a backyard BBQ only thing missing were the foam plates. Don't worry they give you a basket of cold fries and the burger on top of them, probably to warm the fries... I wouldn't recommend going here if you want some good food and good vibes. read more

People hang out outside and yell until 3am and wake up the whole block. Sleeping is not possible anywhere near this location. Most places were closed for lunch, but Lakanuki was open. It is a kind of bar that you want to drink in. The drills were fantastic. We ordered appetizers and they were all right. We subscribed avocado instead of pork. They should have put guacamole instead of sliced avocado. Also, the cheese seemed like the kind you pump. The tenders and fries were good. I ordered a fried rice and chicken. It was okay. There was a white mayonnaise type sauce that was tasteless. I added soy sauce and lemon juice in an attempt to create a taste. My don's burger was good. Over all the food was above average. I highly recommend for the staff to wipe down the salt shakers. Will I go here again, yes, definitely for drinks. read more

I really do not enjoy leaving negative reviews for places. But I do want to inform people to make the best choices of their hard earned dollars when the go out for some fun. Unfortunately this is a one star place for me. I do not expect fine dining when getting tiki drinks and bar food but I do expect that it is edible. These are the single worst poutine fries that I've ever had. The fries tasted stale, cold and flavorless . The white gravy tasted like it came from powder and was very processed. The cheese was bland. Unfortunately there were no redeeming qualities. For a 15 dollar margarita I expect this to be a hand crafted drink. It tasted like super market mix over ice with nothing fresh. However the worst part was the service. They were rude and condescending. When on the mountain I asked some people on the lift about this place. All that I asked had a similar experience. Another place we happened to stop by looking for a drink. Spent the weekend in mammoth mountain and came out for a wandering around in the village in the evening. As there was a reggae festival happening that weekend, we made a pit stop to check it out. Plenty of vendors selling Knick knacks and so on. As well as food stall and a beer stall. It was pretty busy in the main village as the stage and performer were there. Especially the beer stall, line was massive so we had a wandering around and ended up here. There was also a line getting in which we thought it was for a table. But the line was for service. You waited until it's your turn to be served. There's was only three maybe four people behind the bar making drinks. You place your order with the bartender and a number is given if food is ordered. We basically just wanted some drinks and a little something to munch on. Drinks were made while you wait. There was plenty of seating with the hi top tables inside as well as outside. They also had a couple of televisions with the game on which was nice. Drinks came out pretty good. Can't say much with the food as we didn't have any but the fries. Which was good. The food here was really good! We had the coconut shrimp, poke bowl and poke nachos. The nachos and bowl could have used more poke and sauce in the bowl because it was a lil dry. Man, this place is pretty rough. The pork nachos... Literally the first words for this item on the menu are "Mexican style cheese." I thought that meant there would be some good cheese on it. No. It just means squirty nacho cheese. Like WTF? They don't have that in Mexico. Okay so then I thought at least there'd be a good scoop of pork on there. Nah just some scraps of some pretty pathetic pork. I ordered a beer. The tap was broken. Got 2/3 of a beer. My kids got the fried rice w/ tofu. The tofu was awkwardly hard and crispy, difficult for them to bite. They generally aren't picky eaters, but this wasn't consumed by them. Now all that being said, I thought their coconut shrimp appetizer was tasty. We did start on a high note there. Bar tender has a ton of attitude, the drinks weren't good, they were screwing up orders right in front of us. Sit down and expect service, nope! LOL, it was exactly what people were saying. My boyfriend and I stopped by here on our last night in Mammoth for a quick Happy Hour pick-me-up. The place is very unassuming from the outside but the decor on the inside is like a log cabin meets a funkier version of your local Islands. I'm not sure how this place usually feels like pre-COVID but when we came it was super laid back and the employees seemed to be having a good time by the bar, dancing to the music. The bartenders here know how to make a good cocktail and they can do it in a flash. By the time you've pulled out your credit card your drinks are already ready for you to enjoy. They're sufficiently strong and will have you feeling nice and noodley by the bottom of your glass. The garlic fries were perfectly fried and suuuper garlicky. A little greasy, but if you've ever had dodger fries or garlic fries at a farmer's market, you would know that's the only right way to have garlic fries :) We also got a basket of these huli-huli wings to share and these were amazing. They were flavorful to the bone. A perfect mix of sweet, salty and savory. The pieces were also super meaty and nicely cooked. Also that large piece of grilled pineapple was a fun little snack after eating all this fried food. We didn't get to try too much but from our short experience I wonder how this place doesn't have better reviews. When I came here I went around 6:30 with my boyfriend to get some drinks since we were on vacation with family and we left then we decided to go back around 9ish to see the snow fall and saw a line of people trying to go in so we decided to check it out and then I overheard the bouncer say it's 20 to get in and at first I was like uhhhh bc it's a bar and at least where I'm from you don't need to pay to go into an open bar ! We just wanted to go in for the vibes and see how it was then go back to the room so when we get to the front of the line my boyfriend and I take out our ID's and the bouncer checked them says my boyfriend ID isn't real and I was so confused because it is we're too old to be walking around with a fake ID when we're over the age of 21 so I tell him it is real and he proceeded to put my boyfriends ID in his pocket which made me upset and I told him you can't take that because we have a flight to catch and we don't wanna be stuck here so he says I've been a bouncer in Georgia and California for many years and I know what a real ID looks like but he obviously doesn't because he PROCEEDED to freaking google what a Florida ID looks like in front of everybody and says we can't come in and leave before he takes our IDs . Now after that happened I was extremely upset because that isn't right at all and somebody in the line even questioned it and said how are you not letting him in he looks of age ?! And we just laughed and left because at the end of the day I wasn't gonna argue to get in somewhere so I do feel like this was definitely about our skin complexion because we are fair tone and we're Hispanic and everybody around of were white so I didn't think about it like that way till I went to the room and sat on it and really couldn't believe that even happened but I will say that bouncer was white obviously and had glasses and a beard that's all I really remember about him but if you even happen to be in the area and decide to go there definitely keep it in mind because we were treated super unfairly and a guy that has to google a freaking ID should not have a position he has if he has no knowledge in that area read more

Tiki bar and restaurant in Canyon Lodge. Came here on a Saturday night around 8:30pm and snagged a table prior to the restaurant turning into a club. The DJ began at 10pm, although the waitress said that he starts at 9pm or 10pm (shoutout to island time). Kitchen closes at 8pm but they do serve drinks for the rest of the night. Try getting there shortly before 10pm, as at a certain point, they charge $10 cover. Very limited parking available, so you're better off Uber-ing. We ended up leaving early because the music started off strong, but then veered to obscure techno music, which wasn't our vibe. The drinks weren't that strong, but I did like the taste of the piña colada. My friend also particularly liked his painkiller drink (another rum-based drink). There are water jugs with paper cups located at both ends of the bar. Some of our friends were told that you can only order drinks at the line in the front unless you have a tab open, in which case they would be able to order from another one of the bartenders. The servers were a bit standoffish; when someone at our table accidentally spilled water, we had to grab paper towels from the bathroom and dry it up ourselves. Additionally, when we grabbed a booth that still had plates from the previous party, we had to flag down two different people before a third person came to clean it up. Obviously this review is more so for Lakanuki as a nightspot more so than a restaurant. It's a popular nightlife spot so you can still have fun, but don't expect a lot from the service and anticipate hit-or-miss music. read more

Sam helped us out with our order and was so sweet and helpful, especially with getting us set up in the back so my niece could have room to play without bothering anyone else. I had the lobster roll and it was delicious and the amount of fries they give is truly how every place should be lol The drinks were strong and delicious as well and good music playing so you can't go wrong. Didn't know anything about this restaurant, but we love hawaiian fare so we thought we'd check it out. While waiting in line, a lady behind the bar (on 6/17/23) called to help us out and took our order. Along with dinner, I ordered a pina colada. For some reason, she was unable to make one at that moment and she told me to have a seat. A half hour later I realized I never got my drink. I went to the bar and the lady said she was still waiting on ingredients. I went back to the table and a few minutes later a security guard came over with a drink saying it was my drink which didn't look anything like a pina colada. Turns out the drink had been sitting there for a half hour and had melted and separated, but the lady never brought it over. She claimed it was policy that she couldn't leave the bar. This didn't explain why she told me to have a seat. She then said she tried to get my attention several times, which didn't make any sense. Then why didn't you say that when I asked where my drink was? I asked for a new drink and she flat out refused. I probably should've asked for a manager. Food wasn't that great and we really should've gone somewhere else. But this lady behind the bar really spoiled our evening. read more

We unfortunately had a pretty bad experience here - went on Friday, 7/28/23 for their ahola happy hour. We entered the establishment around 4pm where we were greeted by Tiffany at the bar. She was great - super friendly and walked us through the happy hour menu that was posted and even gave us suggestions based on our preferences we mentioned to her. We ended up getting 2 Mai Tais and 3 Blue Hawaiians, both of which were on the happy hour menu. After our first round, I wanted to get another round before happy hour ended at 5pm, so I went back to the bar where I was then approached by Tyler who was working behind the bar. I asked him for another round here's my interaction with him: ***** Tyler: "Just so YOU know, Blue Hawaiians are NOT on the happy hour." Me: "Oh, but it says here on the happy hour menu that they are - we had ordered some just a little bit ago from another bartender" Tyler: "Yeah she's on break now, but she wasn't supposed to give you the happy hour price. I tore her a new one after she did that". **** I'm not sure if he was insinuating that he physically or verbally abused Tiffany but I've never felt so uncomfortable. I hope an investigation is made to look into this incident because there should be zero tolerance towards that kind of behavior. We ordered the Lakanuki mai tai and the painkiller exotic specialty. Both drinks tasted like tropical fruits but we're still surprisingly strong. Would definitely order the painkiller again. As for food, we ordered the poke nachos, huli huli wings, lobster roll w/ garlic fries and the mahi mahi tacos. The server who took our order mentioned that the mahi mahi tacos were his favorite item on the menu and out of all the dishes we ordered, I share the same sentiment. The poke nachos were the next best, followed by the wings. The lobster roll was on sale from $22 to $18(garlic fries were an extra $1) but it was honestly nothing special. Overall had a great experience between the service and the meal. There's no doubt I'd come back again the next time I visit Mammoth. read more
