LC is located in downtown so parking is a bit difficult, but I arrived at 6:30am. Street parking was sparse, but I did find a spot! Parking is paid street parking (2 Hour Only) starting at 10am. This spot opens at 6am, so that's basically 4 hours of free parking! Score! I ordered a Hazelnut Cappuccino. It was alright. Nothing spectacular. I wish they had "For Here" cups. They do have free Wi-Fi, but it's really spotty sometimes. I can't tell you how many times I got disconnected. Also - there's like one outlet... and not a very good one. lol I literally had to make sure my chair was holding up my Macbook plug in there (probably dangerous, but I need power). Menu is pretty standard, not much in the pastry department, but it's sufficient. The service here was ok - not bad, but not particularly friendly. I'm so used to the aloha spirit on the islands, but I forget that I'm on the mainland... in a Hawaiian coffee shop... lol Oh well. Bathrooms are clean, but you do need to ask for a key. It got pretty busy around the 7 o'clock hour, but other than that, plenty of seating and ambient music and coffee shop noise. I may not return, but I'm glad I got to give this place a shot! For someone that doesn't live in San Diego, I visit Lani Coffee a lot. It's an SDCC tradition to visit Lani a few times and we even come here while on regular vacations. The 4K Kona coffee is great! My gf always gets an Asai bowl while I get one of the breakfast sandwiches. I keep forgetting to check in here on Yelp. I should have the regular customer badge! Cool, little sidewalk cafe in the downtown area of SD. We just happened to be walking by and thought we would stop in for a quick breakfast and coffee. A spot it appears for locals to come and get their early morning fix. They offer Lion Hawaiian coffee, Kona coffee, smoothies, breakfast burritos, bagels, acai bowls, pastries and tea. In addition you can purchase bags of coffee beans to go. They had some cute t-shirt and sweatshirts for sale too with their logo on it. My husband really enjoyed his coffee but my smoothie was really just ok. Let's just say I have had better. Also, the breakfast burrito I had which was just eggs, potatoes and cheese was also not the best either. From the taste of it, it was not fresh and the cheese tasted weird. Located in downtown area. Parking was easy enough at 930am. Line moved quickly. Had a 15% check in offer that was only applied to our cheapest item. The worker giving out food was rude. When I went to the counter to check if one of the drinks there was line his response was "I don't know whatever you ordered it's been sitting here" and of course it didn't even end up being my drink. When we finally got our food we noticed they had charged us for 2 acai bowls when we ordered one. Seems like they're all over the place. They also never asked for size for my husbands drink and charged for a large. Turkey sausage burrito was doughy and lacked flavor. Hot sauce that came with it was good though. Acai bowl wasn't great. This place is appropriately named as they have some really strong coffee. They boast selling Kona coffee, which is rarely, if ever, seen elsewhere. It really does have quite a different taste than regular coffee, which is a refreshing change from the same old chain stuff. I tried the Iced Lion Coffee, which was listed as the stronger, bolder flavor. They also have refills for just $1 or so, so between all this coffee and the donuts I brought over to eat here, I was bouncing off the walls for the rest of the day. This is a nice place too, that actually has a vibe that somehow feels a bit like Hawaii inside. There are plenty of seats, as well as some tables outside. Large frape with peanut butter soy milk ...is what I ordered. No. This place, man. I just don't get it. We came here for two Acai bowls, which we wanted to get to go, since we had some things to take care of at home. They were kind of busy when we got there, and it is painfully obvious that they had no sense of organization or urgency that day. Two Acai bowls took over 25 minutes to come out. And, by the time we got the bowls home - two blocks away, mind - they were mostly melted. After two blocks on an overcast and windy day. There was no apology that I heard about for the wait. They didn't seem to care that people were stacked up, waiting for their orders to come out. Were they understaffed, or under-trained?
