I went around 8 am on Sunday. It wasn't too busy. A few people in and out, a few stayed in (including me). I ordered a coconut latte with oat milk and a classic açaí bowl. The latte was smooth and subtle but yummy in flavor. The açaí was simple, but so delicious. I love that they use Lion Coffee from Hawaii. Hawaiian decor is incorporated in the cafe. I stopped by this cute Hawaiian cafe for breakfast! It has a fun, tropical vibe and lots of bright decor. I ordered the Aloha Mocha and the Coconut Açaí Bowl. I really enjoyed the coconut, banana, and mocha flavors in the Aloha Mocha. It was a little sweet for me personally, but I also expected it to be on the sweeter side given all the flavors. The coffee itself was very good. The Coconut Açaí Bowl was delicious and refreshing! The fresh fruit, crunchy granola, and coconut was a great combo. They were either out of or no longer served pretty much everything I could eat or wanted to try, I have some food allergies so my options are a bit more limited. So their menu was really out of date or they are not so great at managing their inventory (to be clear it was the menu on yelp and apparently it is the yelp menu that is not fully up to date). We should have just left but I felt bad so I ordered a drink anyway and sadly the coffee was over roasted and tasted burned. We absolutely love Lani Coffee ! For the past or so months Lani Coffee has been our go-to for a quick, delicious meal with the perfect coffee. We usually order through door-dash. We usually order 2 Aloha Mochas, 2 blueberry bowls and we share one Turkey sausage burrito. This order always hits the spot and we just love it the same every time we order. Today they didn't have the burrito, so they tried to call and since we didn't answer they sent a croissant sandwich with similar ingredients. Lani isn't large or flashy, but it's a decent size for a coffee shop and has a small selection of baked good and snacks in addition to a nice little seating area. I decided to browse their coffees, and thought the blueberry hazelnut iced coffee sounded good so I went with that. It was actually better than I expected - the coffee was strong and it had more flavor than I expected; my thirst was quenched. Service was friendly, and overall I had a positive experience at Lani. I'm very frustrated. I was staying the night nearby and looking forward to coming here. I grew up in Hawaii so naturally, I look forward to a good cup of Hawaiian coffee. When I got there there was a line of several people. There was a person working the register AND having to make drinks which made things very inefficient. The poor person looked very stressed out. It's no wonder the wait times are less at places with more staff. The unemployment rate in California is 5.2% right now so finding labor shouldn't be a problem. This reflects poorly on management. When it was my turn to get a drink I ordered a Vanilla Macadamia nut coffee. It's not a pour over, it's supposed to be already brewed. Well, they were out. I told the barista they were out and they asked if I could wait five minutes. After having waited in line for a decent amount of time, no I couldn't wait for five minutes. I had my wife waiting patiently in the car for me. The barista offered me another brewed coffee. Well that one was out. And the next prebrewed coffee was out. And the next one after that. You're a coffee shop. You have pre-brewed coffee, but you're out? What kind of coffee shop can't keep up with demand? Horrible. I asked for a refund and left and went somewhere else. I don't run a coffee shop but I would think that business 101 would tell you to have brewed coffee available when customers come in. read more

I am not a coffee drinker; I am a fan of food variety and this shop has a huge menu of cold, hot, fresh and previously prepared baked, protein, healthy and less healthy. And the music! It was lunch time and my original plan was to check this one place out only to find the long line so I kept on walking envisioning another place to grab some lunch. I happen to see this coffe shop Lani Coffee. I decided to check it out and upon entering I cam see the ample seating inside and there was also patio seating. Based on the doggie biscuit bin... dog lovers are most welcome. About lunch, I was torn between the lunch special which is a sandwich (ham or tukey); a choice of bread with toppings, a drink (soda or coffee), and chips or an acai bowl. The acai bowl won. I asked the barista what's her favorite and she replied "Coconut Waimea". I had to go with her recommendation. I got my order in a square bowl. It was a blended acai berry with granola, bananas, strawberries, honey, and topped with coconut. I had to try the Hawaiian coffee so I also ordered the Vanilla Macadamia. The combination was perfect. The sweetness and richness of the acai bowl complemented the mild coffee with a trailing taste of macadamia. I was pleased with my order.
