Let me just say this was my first time at this particular Fuentes. I have no reason to be bias and I really wanted to like it. Hmmm where do start? Well to begin with this place is really really bad. I ordered a steak burrito wet. I should have known it was going to be a bland display of why on earth did I come here, when I saw that orange sauce drizzled over the burrito. Whatever that is, they need to pour that directly in the trash. It is absolutely horrible. I actually asked for Enchilada sauce. Thinking it would be more chili powder based. (Similar to the sauce used to make Chili Rojas or Chili Colorado) I was told that they use the same bland orange sauce on enchiladas too. I was mortified to hear that. They had the nerve to call it Ranchero sauce {?} Next, it was all too much runny beans and way too much non melted cheese. This is where this burrito truly goes bad. There may have been about 7 to 10 small cubes of steak in the entire thing (I counted), and half of that was literally pieces of fat. Its like they took the meat and cubed it down to the size of a small peanuts. They are obviously meticulously de sizing the meat down to stretch it over multiple dishes. So imagine a huge blanket tortilla and a huge amount runny flavorless beans, no steak to be found and the biggest pieces were the fat cubes drenched in the blandest strange orange sauce. The didn't give me any napkins and no utensils. I had to ask for that and still no platsic knife as you can see in the picture with the broken fork. The customer service is sad. What a waste of my time and money, {$20}. The people looked as if they had been to a funeral. No one looked happy to be there and remember his place just opened. I never want to patronize a place where everybody dislikes being there. There was just no happiness, no love and the food tastes like it. For a brand new location that just unacceptable. Why I wont be back is because these issues are foundational. Meaning the owner just hires people that will show up. They are not actually required to behave as though its a great place because even they know its not. Los Angeles has the worst Mexican food in California hands down and this place is the poster child for that fact. read more

I'm done! First time the food was great. Second time the food portions were much smaller. Giant chunks of tough chicken in our burritos and almost no beans! Third time the food was disgusting! The portions shrunk AGAIN! Same problem with the chicken. They watered down the mild salsa as well. 45 dollars for two burritos and one order of enchiladas! Too bad. read more

Good food but needs better process for takeout. They seem to cater to the dine-in orders first and for takeout you wait and wait. Plus the restaurant design doesn't really provide a place for takeout customers to stand and wait for their orders without blocking the space for the line to order or blocking the path the servers use coming out the kitchen. Compared to the original location, this one is a HUGE letdown. The food here is noticeably lacking in flavor, and they're incredibly stingy with the ingredients. My torta was a prime example: two paper-thin slices of jalapeño and a tiny piece of onion. When I politely asked for a few more jalapeños, I was told I'd have to pay extra, despite the torta being practically empty. I explained this to the cashier, but they were unwilling to accommodate. This location is a far cry from the quality I expect, and I won't be back. do yourself a favor and go to the original location in Reseda. read more

I love this place! Always super clean, the staff could not be nicer and the food is amazing! We ordered the potato tacos, taquitos and tostadas both times that we went. All were outstanding and super fresh. Oh and don't forget the home made flan before you leave, so luscious and delicious!! read more

The meat on the salpicon tasted disgusting. I asked the waiter what kind of meat they used in the salpicon and what ingredients they put in it he told me he didn't know as it comes frozen already separated in baggies and when customers ordered the salpicon they poured the meat and mixed it together. I finally had the chance to try the food of this new location , the new place is super cute and the decor is modern and the service is welcoming ! I got my usual carne asada plate and a chile relleno ala cart and my husband got the same my son got the steak burrito , the food came out pretty fast and I was surprised and the presentation is the same as the the other las Fuentes and I was so happy the food taste the same, delicious !! I sat in the patio and we had a great time ! It's a perfect spot if you are looking for good Mexican food ! I normally visit the Fuentes on Vanowen St. I tried this one that just opened on Mason. The first time we got an asada plate and part of the rice was hard. The service here compared to the other one is bad. Gave it a second try and when I get a plate that comes with tortillas I substitute the tortilla for chips and that's awesome. I asked the manager Mauricio if I he could substitute the tortilla for chips and he rudely said no. It's sad that I'll have to drive further to get good service. read more

Very disappointed, sadly. Ordered a wet shredded chicken burrito and nachos. The burrito.. so PLAIN! There was no rice, pico de gallo, sour cream, anything! Just chicken and beans (barely). So so disappointing! Won't come again. Nachos had sour cream, guac (that tasted store bought), sauce, beans and cheese. Pretty okay for nachos, they were soggy but the taste was there. Today I placed an online order of the 2 chicken enchiladas rancheras. I added an additional cheese enchilada to my order for $2.75. My dad was nice enough to pick up my order since he works near the restaurant. once my food arrived at home I opened my plate and realized that there was only 2 enchiladas (1 chicken & 1 cheese). I called the restaurant to let them know that my order was incomplete and they told me that they would transfer me to the manager. After waiting for the manager to come on the phone the lady comes back on the line and tells me that the manager is "super busy" and that they could give me a credit for next time. I really doubt that there will be a next time, the food was not great at all. The chicken was extremely dry and the tortillas were pretty stale and the chips I ordered were pretty salty. I usually go to the reseda location and they are always consistent and the food always tastes great! I've placed orders to go and my orders have always been complete when I order from Reseda. read more

DISAPPOINTMENT is what first comes to mind after visiting the Las Fuentes Chatsworth location. My excitement had quickly vanished upon arriving to the restaurant. First things noticed was the utter chaos and confusion happening in the front and back of the restaurant. Servers arguing with different customers for orders that they had mixed up. Not only that, but if you like having people invade your personal space while you eat then this is the place for you. On top of all that, the food, mediocre at best. Smaller portions, bland ingredients, all for a higher price. This new location is nothing compared to the original. In all honesty, this opening is a grand disappointment considering how long we all waited for it to open. read more

We were happy that a New Mexican food restaurant opened in the neighborhood and went in to give it a try today. I can surely say it is our first and last visit to this place. I ordered a basket of chips and guacamole as an appetizer with the meal. The cashier asked if I wanted a small or a large guacamole and I said a small one imagining a small one should be a good enough size. Sure enough the guacamole came in and you can tell it is old from the color, and they put it in a small tiny sauce container, so I laughed and said it is too small please get me the large one, he charged me for the large one without deducting the small one that we didn't want. Now the burrito we ordered were Steak Burrito and Pastor Burrito... never had something like that, the meat is quality isn't that good and it is rock hard that I couldn't eat, also, The guacamole doesn't taste good at all. We left most of the food on the table and left after notifying the manager. Very disappointed and it wasn't the experience we expected! read more
