They have a honey boba and brown sugar boba, both so good but if I had to choose one I would go for the honey boba as a personal preference! The owner's grandmother passed down this recipe to him from Taichung, Taiwan which is the birth place of boba tea! They source quality ingredients and tea from all over the world! It's definitely a must try boba tea shop in LA! I would suggest that because their boba is so sweet and flavorful, I would do 0-25% sugar to balance out the drink. If you ever visit LA and want to check out a high quali-TEA boba joint, check this place out! They make their own boba in-house from scratch and Jack (the founder of the company) used the recipe his grandma passed down to him from Taiwan (where boba tea comes from). We got to try Latea's Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba, Matcha Tea with Creme Brûlée, Tropical Punch with Honey Boba and some gluten free cookies that was all so delicious and perfect for us who doesn't like overly sweet drinks. We also got Grape Fruit Green Tea with Passion Fruit Jelly that was quite refreshing on a hot summer's day. We also got Tiramisu Milk Tea with Pudding to go that was the perfect dessert drink after a meal. The best way to drink it first was straight from the lid. PARKING: If nothing on the street, there is free 1 hr parking in the Bank of America parking structure. Review: No joke this place is SO good. I'm extremely critical of boba spots, being Taiwanese and also lactose intolerant. THEY HAVE MILK ALTERNATIVES which means you don't have to bring lactaid pills or suffer on the toilet later. I find that most authentic Taiwanese boba spots don't have milk alternatives which is whack cuz many asians are lactose intolerant!! Second, their homemade roasted brown boba is so chewy and delicious. Do yourself a favor and try it! The owner Jack even talked to me for a bit, just explaining the story of how he uses his grandma's recipe and I can really tell it's what makes these drinks so great. They have wifi, and also some private booths for one or two people to sit in. Lastly - they recommend that you bring back their cups (very sturdy plastic) to reuse, and get 10c off your next order. Also for other people out here also into sustainability, their lids make it very easy to insert your own reusable boba straw. Very hard to stab those in the og plastic sheet sealed tops. However, my partner ordered oolong tea with a cheese cap and man... if you're a fan of cheese caps, this is a must try. A fellow Yelper mentioned there's a parking garage last night so I drove around the block before finding it. The public garage just NW of the shop on Cardiff Ave. near Culver Blvd.; the 1st 60 minutes are free. I went back for ROASTED BROWN SUGAR MILK TEA with ROASTED BROWN SUGAR BOBA. What I don't understand why I was surcharged 75¢ for a milk substitute/add-on. :-X What's worse is the additional milk diluted the milk tea... it still had somewhat of the robust flavor from the night before & the boba was perfectly al dente & great chew. In any event, shouldn't it be a substitute, not an additional portion of milk? I forgot to bring my freebie drink coupon for redemption, so next time I'm picking up the Nitro Infused High Mountain Oolong. So far, I've had Assam, Jasmine, Brown Sugar, and Tiramisu with Cheese foam. I prefer stronger tea flavors and Latea delivers. Not to mention their stellar customer service. Every time I've come in, the workers are nothing but helpful and welcoming. I might go to 25% or 0% in the future. A huge group of highschoolers came in right after the order came out, which is usually a good gage of how sweet your drinks are gonna be. However, the drink is poorly flavored due to the nature of grapefruit and tea interacting with bitter on bitter without much added sweetness. Latea at it's best is one of my favorite boba spots , I go here almost too often. Their longan honey house made pearls are my favorite pearls of all time - the longan honey is just a bit more interesting than other honey, and the texture of the boba is always consistent. They don't have this right now, but assured it'll be back in November! If I had one complaint, it'd be that their teas can taste a little bitter and overbrewed. This is fine (and actually sometimes preferable) for milk tea, but I like ordering lightly sweetened teas without milk and some other shops have smoother teas in that regard. When their cold brew machine was working this was circumvented, as those didn't taste overbrewed at all, but that seems to have been abandoned. read more

Stopped by here for some boba, and wow was it good! Service was quick, and there are a good amount of seats inside. The matcha latte was very smooth and tasty, and the boba was handmade and SOO GOOD! The owners' story is really wholesome, as the two met each other in college and sought to open a shop that utilized one of their grandma's recipes. The tiramisu drink is super rich and creamy, and will definitely fill you up. There's real marscapone cheese, and it's definitely for those with a big sweet tooth. The creamy cheese float is also really good, and incorporates a good savory element to the mildness of the green tea. The tea tastes very clean and natural. If you want just the tea, you're able to just get it standalone, as the cheese foam is an add-in. For the boba purists, they also have a solid brown sugar milk tea that uses cane syrup made in-house (while a lot of other brands use corn syrup, which is of a lower quality). They do have dessert too, and they mention using real butter and grass fed milk for the cookies. The service is really friendly and there are some tables inside where you can sit and hang. Parking is a bit hard since it's in downtown Culver but street parking is available. Worse comes to worst, you could always park at the Trader Joe's and buy something there to get it validated. Overall it's a good spot to hit up when you get a boba tea craving or when you need something to quench your thirst. read more

This small new boba shop opened up downtown Culver- perfectly placed among trendy restaurants, shops, and plentiful parking lots. Inside this shop are a variety of cute seating options, many of which have outlets. This makes it easy to work or study here, next to some large windows that offer a lot of natural light. They also make their own FRESH boba every morning, so no preservatives. The boba is sweetened with either brown sugar or honey, and they let you try the boba at the register so you can tell how soft and fresh their boba actually is. I got the Assam black milk tea with brown sugar boba, 50% sweetness and light ice. This was the perfect balance of a light sweetness that allowed the tea flavor to still shine through. The boba remained soft and easy to eat even though it took me a while to finish the drink. My friend got the tiramisu milk drink with brown sugar boba, 50% sweetness and light ice. It is DELICIOUS, with primarily a coffee flavor, and a great thick foam on the top. Highly recommended that you try this! One of the best perks of this location is that the plastic cups are resealable and reusable! So don't throw your cups away-- just wash them and bring them back the next time you visit! Delicious! I wasn't expecting such strong tea flavors to come through (nor for the lavender to be as prominent as it was without tasting artificial, which I thoroughly enjoy as a lavender-anything-lover). I went here because it was convenient and close to our hotel in Culver City. I ordered the matcha crème brûlée drink ($6.75) with oat milk and less ice and sweetness. The drink was really thick and not too sweet, which is expected considering I ordered a lower level of ice and sweetness. It didn't taste too much like a crème brûlée - more like a thick matcha drink. I would have probably preferred a different drink.
