Very cool spot for beer. I also have to add that their bastard drink is super. It will definitely get you buzzing after one or two. Went here the other night with some friends for some drinks. The bartender was really cool and was excited to let me taste some different wines before I chose which one I wanted. He did not skimp at all on the glass. The staff was attentive and swiped empty glasses out of our way quickly. We even got free fries at our table! One thing I did notice, there was no music. I noticed they turned it on within the last few minutes before we left. I found it weird considering no one around us was finishing dinner. Laurel Tavern is our go-to spot when we want to grab a drink and some grub with a nice atmosphere. I've grown to like how crowded this place gets because of all the people watching. The drinks from the drink menu are so/so. I usually just stick with a vodka soda or whiskey on the rocks... simple. I like their wine and beer selection. The food is delicious. The service could be better though. I don't mind going to a bar and ordering at the bar, in fact I love the concept. I just wish the bartenders were a little more personable. read more

I prefer to have waiter service than walk up to a bar to place my order. There is something about ordering food then sitting down like you're in any hamburger joint on any street corner. The prices and nice ambience warrant waiter service. I would have given the Tavern four stars. We ordered a hamburger, the beet salad, the French dip, and the skirt steak. No complaints about the food, all was very good. The bartenders let me taste three beers and were spot on with what I liked. I would give this place a second try and I would sit at the bar to avoid being a bad waiter. The music was a tad loud for an eatery, made conversation difficult. read more

I give the Laurel Tavern 3 stars. As I read previous reviews, everyone seems to think this place is mediocre. I agree. First of all I love the ambiance in here and the setup. It's a small place but its great to go with your girls for some after work drinks. You have to valet park as there is no lot. You could try street parking and pay the meter. The drinks are great, the food is tasty but the bartenders, holy shit! I was standing next to one for ten minutes who had no regard for me. Didn't acknowledge me at all and instead asked everyone else but me what I wanted to drink. When another bartender was near I had to say can you help me please and then she proceeded to get my drink. I'm paying money to you PLUS tip for a damn drink. They definitely need to work on that. Needless to say I didn't come back. I go down the street to Rocco's instead or head on over to sherman oaks to madbulls. read more

i looooooooooove Laurel Tavern. They're burratta is beyond. The beers are delish. The biggest bummer is the service. It's kind of a pain in the butt if you're sitting at a table and have to get up to order from the bar everytime you want another beer or something to eat. but that's just me. I like everything about this place except the part where you have to go to the bar every time you need a drink. Which put us in a dilemma whether to tip or not. Oh well... Been there a couple of times; place has a good ambience, good drinks, and around many other places that are prime in Studio City. Great place to come for good drinks and food. Nothing super fancy or innovative here, but a solid place to bring your friends. I always try to snag a seat at one of the 2 large family-style tables in the front porch area. I like that you share the table with other customers because it's great way to chat with people. Don't go there expecting table service though. Their style is that you order and pay at the bar and they give you a number to take back to your table. They do bring your food out for you, but they don't generally come to check on you or offer refills. read more

Mediocre at best. This place is way overrated. Food is nothing special and beer selection isn't all that exciting. Ambience is boring unless you are a 21yr old college student. Honestly this place has nothing special to offer. A burger, beer and fries will run you $26.00. You basically have to wait on yourself unless you sit at the bar.
