I've always passed by this salon and today, decided to do a walk-in! I looked online for the website but found that the one on yelp vs. on google was different & the prices were a little hard to understand, so I tried to call... but to no avail. I'm not sure if the phone just doesn't work or if nobody was free to answer, but that was a little annoying b/c I called at least once an hour until noon. I walked in inquiring about the price, but the woman who greeted me told me that each stylist had their own price.. I was paired with Thi! She was very friendly during our short interaction. I showed her my inspo picture & she got to cutting right away (I only wanted a cut, no wash or blow dry... so I totally get it if It doesn't look exaaaactly like the photo). It's been a while since I have walked away from a haircut happy with what I received, but for the price, I thought it was totally worth it! Immediately after my cut, Thi demonstrated and explained the best way to style my new layers. The whole cut took less than an hour & I am super happy with what my hair looks like now!! Very disappointed with my experience. I clearly asked for only a small trim, but the stylist cut off much more hair than I agreed to, leaving my hair much shorter than I wanted. What made the experience even worse was that she was talking on her phone during the haircut and holding the phone with one hand while cutting my hair with the other. I felt that I was not receiving her full attention, and it showed in the final result. Better professionalism and communication are needed. Hair stylist was unprofessional. Not sure if the one greeted me and cut my hair was the same person. Made an appointment with Thi according to the person on the phone, so they already should have record, but the lady asked who I made the appointment with. Asked for just straight haircut. She basically only used the razor and thinning scissors on me to "fix and finish" overall. My hair was not cut layer by layer. She never once used any clips on me. I also never got a haircut having to stand up. Rather than using the hair straightener for styling, she uses it to fix any uneven cuts, but it's still uneven in the end with long and short cuts all over the place. I showed and asked her to frame the front side of the hair, instead she "framed" the whole side of my hair. I wanted to thin out my hair cuz I have a lot of hair and are thick. She said it will make my hair frizzy, but the fact that she only used the thinning scissors on me made it look choppy and really uneven and potentially frizzy. She never thinned out my hair in the end. She also left midway through my cut to pick up a call. At that point I just want to get out of there. On the phone I was told $50 flat including wash, total was $75. I will never come back with the quality of a haircut I got with that price. She washed my hair pretty thoroughly and long, so I'll give her that. read more

Boy do I wish i had read recent reviews, i hate myself for not having done so. I made three new rules after visiting this place about what to look out for when booking a hair cut appointment where you have never been before: 1) do not go if they can take you right away before closing - after thoughts is i should have been weary of that 2) do not get your hair cut by someone whose name represents a drink... 3) if they turn you away from the mirror after you express concern during the hair cutting; run for your life This was absolutely a disaster. The only reason i give one star is because the person cutting hair was not a bad person, just in the wrong field. In fact she was professional enough to not charge me because i was almost crying - had tears from shock. First time in my life. I asked her not to cut more than a centimeter off the length and to frame my face in the front with two/three layers only that she could cut off a bit more to to layer. Anyone with fine thing hair like me, can NOT be cut hair like this... maybe if i had had thick luscious hair it would have been ok but as a professional i would expect you to know the difference. Instead of only making layers off the first inch of hair in the front of the face, the "hair stylist" literally proceeded to cut HALF the hair on the side of my face. Because i have thin hair, I look like a royal disaster. I look like a dog with a bad hair cut. I teared up. I tried to keep my cool. The worst past is that DURING the cutting i was very upset and stopped her and asked her what she was doing! She repeated several times "im not done yet" to reassure me but in my head i kept thinking "how can you possibly fix this!" Oh and the washing of the hair was horrible. The woman was nice but there was nothing pleasing about it and it was such hard "massage" that i was glad it was over. ALSO no good products used.. probably all cheap dollar store products (though ironically.. they said Moroccanoil products)! There were also cardboard boxes on the ground everywhere near the cashier.. what a look.... There is nothing spa like about this place. They dont know how to wash or cut hair though they are "nice" Run for your lives or you will have 6 months of looking horrible like me. read more

Beware! The only reason this salon has good reviews is because of Lynn Chung. I couldn't get an appointment with her, but I thought I'd give the salon a try anyway so I let Mariam cut my hair. I showed her a photo of what I wanted, and she said "oh a-line, right? Okay I got it." I was so excited she could do this for me, but then a few things happened. 1. She added a lot of super short, choppy layers. I never said I wanted layers and the picture I showed her didn't have layers like what I got in the end. Plus, the layers don't blend or gradually become longer with the front sections. 2. The cut became much shorter than what we had agreed on. I asked for the length to be just above my shoulders, like in the picture I showed. She said she thinks collarbone would be good. I said okay, I'll trust what you think is best. She asked me how short the back should be, and I approved the area she touched too. But then I ended up with short, chin length hair! Since it was supposed to be an a-line haircut, she started with the back. I couldn't see what she was doing because my head was tilted down or to the side the whole time. I wish I could have stopped her. 3. When she got to the sections she separated that should have stayed long, she noticed there were some shorter pieces from some bangs that I was growing out. She told me she couldn't give me the a line haircut because of this. I wish she told me this in the beginning before cutting my hair. If I knew that she couldn't do the a line, I would have asked her to just give me a trim with long layers. Why did she wait until she was halfway through the haircut, with my back hairs chopped off, to tell me she can't do it??? PLUS, I think she still could have done the a line. Look at the picture! Couldn't she blend in those shorter pieces? Or just let them continue growing out? They were barely noticeable. I just trusted her in the moment though and let her continue cutting my hair. I regret this so much. 4. She changed my natural part, separated the sections in the front that should have stayed long, and then did most of the haircut this way. Towards the end of the haircut, she asked me where my hair naturally parted. I tried to tell her, but I should have asked to make my part myself or kept my hair the way it was--she already cut most of my hair using the wrong part! Why change it at the end of the haircut? I think this messed up the layers even more. I've been home a few days now, and I hate my haircut. I feel like I have to straighten or blow dry my hair every morning. The straightener doesn't even work my hair is just untamable now. Im so sorry, I don't normally leave reviews on Yelp, especially 1 stars, but I had to leave this review because what I got was so bad. Nothing like what I had asked for. read more

Such a beautiful salon! I brought my mom here because she's visiting from out of the country for a few months and her roots were growing out and needed a fill. We did some Yelp-searching and found Lavender! We booked with An because of the photos on Yelp of the great work she did with some short haircuts (my mom rocks an A-line bob) and I decided to wait for my mom and get my nails done by Natalie. This was such a pleasant experience! An is sweet and attentive and did a great job with my mom's hair. She was precise and chose a great color for highlight and root coverage. My mom even asked for An's business card so she can tell her friends to come too! Natalie was so fun to chat with while getting my nails done! My shellac looks great and so quick! I read the reviews, got encouraged to try out a haircut with Thi- and woe, am glad I did it!! I am new to the area, fearful of letting any one touch my fine, medium length hair because most stylists just make them look either way too thin with too many layers or just take length off without an actual style. Thi did an amazing job cutting my hair. My hair was really long since I haven't gotten a haircut in a very long time. I wasn't sure if I should since I was getting used to having really long hair. A lot of other salons I've been to has always cut it way too short or don't give me much texture at all. But she gave me all of that! It was at a perfect length and it feels a lot more textured! I also have a better idea of styling my hair and frames my face really well. I haven't had the time to take any pictures of the back of my head LOL, but trust me when I say I love my hairstyle. I have been thinking about dyeing my hair for awhile. I came across Lavender Salon & Spa on Yelp and saw Holly's balayage work and went out to contact her! Holly is very prompt and replies very quickly. I discussed what I wanted and we set up an appointment by text. I came in and she was running a little late because of a past client so I had to wait, but it's okay! Not her fault. After waiting, she explained the process and the coloring. I bleached my hair and was shocked to see the blonde and orange, but it was completely normal. Once she toned my hair, I saw the color I wanted and it was perfect. She delivered more than what I wanted, and I was so pleased and satisfied. My hair looks amazing and I received so many compliments from my family and friends. Holly is very kind and she will take her time with you and makes sure to deliver her best for the client. A lot of other stylists told me it would take a few sessions to get to the colors I wanted, but Holly accomplished it in one. Lynn at Lavender Salon & Spa is the best hairstylist ever especially with coloring your hair. I have done lots to my hair in the past using so many different products at home and also done professionally at other salons. Lynn always knows what's best for you and knows what's best to get the look you want. Not only does she achieve the color and style I want, she gives great advice that actually does work to help the color last longer while it grows out. As for haircuts, she respects the length and style you want, so I had no worries with her being snip happy and cutting off too much. She again will consult with you about the cut and give advice with styling your hair. The salon itself has a welcoming atmosphere, spacious, and clean. The furnishings are also pretty nice, too. That said I would make an appointment with anyone available and if they didn't have an appointment available around my schedule would go somewhere else. That was until I met Lacey. Now I never let anyone other than Lacey touch my hair! I used to have anxiety before going to a salon: will they cut my hair too short, will the color be wrong? HOLLY PHAM is the best bayalage hairstylist! I recently moved to Fremont, getting married in 48 days and called in yesterday for a hair consultation on how to fix my brassy ends and dark roots. I am only off Sundays and Holly is the only one working Sunday and fit me in her schedule the following day. Easy parking lot, clean salon but most importantly aesome customer service and affordable bayalage prices in the Bay Area. Holly really took her time and great care of my thick, coarse hair and sensitive scalp, and even worked 1 hr overtime to wash/blow dry and curl it and she even made the time to make a wedding updo replicating the wedding hairstyle I am thinking about. Had a terrible experience at Lavender Salon. Booked an appointment with Thi and was really excited for a haircut after reading the raving reviews. When it came time for my appointment, the lady assigned to wash peoples hair did a terrible job washing. Not only did she not ask if the water temp was ok, she gave me a really bad headache from the shampoo bowl and how hard she was rubbing my scalp. Was hoping the haircut would be better, but it was just as bad. Thi was working on another client and quickly moved to me. After requesting layers, she cut the hair in 5 minutes and said she's done. For the amount we are paying as clients, it is unacceptable to do a rushed job on someone who made an appointment specifically with you, let alone anyone who is a paying customer. Didn't check to make sure anything was evenly cut and I'm left with an extremely choppy haircut. Of course her personality was extremely kind once it came time to tip. Would never return to this salon again. Poor work and extremely poor customer service. read more

Seline is amazing! Hands down, one of the best massage therapists I've had. She really takes her time and listens to your needs. I usually don't like talking during my massages, but when she talks to me during my massage, I feel extremely relaxed and satisfied :) Selene is really sweet, funny and knows what she's doing. During the massage, she makes sure your muscles are fully relaxed and not tense so she can really undo those knots. So I got a comb stuck really bad in the front of my hair while I was coloring it the comb got so tangled I had to cut it out.. no biggie really I just hand bangs but they weren't exactly cut nice. So I found lavender spa and called. Someone named HOLLY said she could even my bangs out make them look a little better.. well she did the exact opposite she butchered my hair and cut little side hairs in the front of my head really short! She cut a little and showed me I liked it. She turned the chair so I couldn't see the mirror curled my hair (I did not as for her to do this I don't like my hair curly I use a hair straightener) after she curled it... I was still faced away from the mirror she was cutting more from my bangs I didn't think anything of it.. until she turned me around and I saw myself in the mirror... oh my gosh. All I could think was she totally made it worse. She cut more hair than just my bangs and I know this because the comb was only stuck in my red front hair not my dark hair .. I'm going to ad picture before and after also a picture she sent me saying this is what it was supposed to look like ... she offered to refund the money after because I was in my car crying which was nice but I have not got the money back in my account yet. Hopefully it will show in a few days ... Also maybe the owner manager of the shop said she would call me and never did. I just feel like she could have called like she said she did. And holly shouldn't have tried to cut the bangs if she wasn't good at doing bangs . And the biggest part that up sets me is all the extra hairs she cut in adding those in a picture with a circle around the hairs she cut.
