A friend recommended the Lazy Lobster saying it was the best lobster she had had on the island. Unfortunately our experience was not that good. I do have to say the bang bang shrimp appetizer was delicious, however I was very disappointed with my lobster thermidor had a very small portion of lobster all of which were significantly overcooked. The sauce and seasoning was on point but the lobster was terrible. Other : family members shrimp was also over cooked and hard. Waitress was very attentive and water glasses were constantly filled so that was good. Unfortunately I can't recommend a place where over 1/2 the entrees were overcooked, especially for the higher price point. read more

My family and I went for Christmas dinner. The food was good, and the fish dinners my sister and I got had a very nice size of fish for the price, which is what I want and look for when going to restaurants, especially when everything is so expensive now, you want to get what you pay for. My mother got the turkey dinner. The turkey was a little dry unfortunately, and I had to ask for more gravy, but the dinner did have a nice amount of food- with the sides also. I did have to ask for more sauce for my sordfish dinner which is the only thing I would say- dishes could use more sauce. I will try this restaurant again next time I come to Bradenton, FL. Because the size of fish that comes in the dinners are big, and so much better than some other restaurants that charge too much for a very small piece of fish. read more

This is just a good restaurant. It's the simplest way to describe it. It's got a busy atmosphere. Very polite staff. The bartender was moving, one bartender is not enough, but one of the waitstaff came back to help him catch up. The food was good. I had the grouper encrusted with potato. The seafood was cooked perfectly. There seemed to be more potato than grouper. This is a great restaurant to go to if you are looking for a good meal with no frills and easy on the wallet. I think this is the only seafood restaurant on the island (walking distance for me), but heard much about it and had to try it before returning home. Highly recommended by my waiter and apparently the most ordered item, I ordered the Bar Harbor. This gave a little bit of everything: 3 pieces of scallops - super soft and juicy, but the tomato in the dish kills it. 4 shrimps - fresh and cooked just right, but can't hold the juice from the dish. 2 lobster meat, delicious and really took in the flavor of the sauce. For the most part, this was pretty basic, but gave it an extra star because the coconut cream pie was DELICIOUS and I hate pies (I'd pretty much eat anything with coconut in it)! We were cramped to the max, and the table was wobbly on top of it. I did tell the hostess about the seating, but also complimented the food. A pricey and disappointing experience. We ordered three Caesar salads to go, two with grilled salmon, one with grilled chicken, to go. That was $60.90 plus tax and tip. We also ordered three iced teas and a bowl of chowder. The Caesar dressing was reasonably good, with a strong enough hint of anchovies to be authentic. The croutons were fine. the grilled chicken was good, the grilled salmon OK, but not great. But the strips of two kinds of lettuce were nothing special at all. This wasn't a traditional Caesar made with romaine, nor was it an interesting variant -- rather it was the equivalent content of a prepared bag of lettuce. So, at $20+ per salad, it was pretty steep for an middling salad. The chowder was fine -- I'd get it again, though calling that small portion a bowl was generous. As for the iced teas, turned out that they weren't in the bag we picked up. So we paid for them, but didn't receive them. I called the restaurant afterwards, and the kind hostess said she'd made a mistake, and would refund the cost of the three iced teas to my credit card (presumably plus the associated tax + 20% tip). Sadly, that never happened, nor did I get a call about it. It's one thing for a restaurant to make a mistake -- quite another for them to offer to fix it, but then not follow through. So, all-in-all, quite a disappointing experience. At $99.63 for 3 salads and a "bowl" of chowder, it was an expensive mistake. Really a 2.5-star experience, but when they made a mistake in the order, then didn't actually fix it as they said they would, that went from disappointment to annoyance. read more

Outstanding food Our visit started off great and continued great for our entire visit. We called earlier for reservations and when we arrived there was a table waiting for us. The restaurant was busy inside at 7:15 but only a few people around that may or may not have been waiting for a table. Not being the season does make it easier for us locals to get into some of these places. I had looked online earlier and decided on their Lobster Bisque and Seafood Fra Diavolo, which is what I ordered. While we waited they brought bread with both butter and jalapeno jelly. I had never heard of jalapeno jelly before, and while my wife and others at the table were telling me how common it is and how you can even get this stuff at Costco, I'm eating all the bread. We got more bread. A sweet and spicy start to my meal, and I couldn't have been happier. The bisque soon arrived. No lumps, but a very smooth consistency of delicious soup. That was a great lead in to the main course, my Seafood Fra Diavolo. Large shrimps and scallops mixed in a spicy marinara sauce, mixed in with a large amount of linguine. The spicy was a nice continuation of the tingle I still felt from eating the bread. I did eat too much bread, and only made it halfway through my main course. That was yesterday, and the rest warmed up for lunch today gave me a second great meal. Everyone at my table had only good things to say about their food. I'm torn on the rating here because I didn't enjoy my meal but there were some winners. The shrimp with bang sauce was really good and the fish and chips looked pretty good with crunchy fries. Everything else fell a little short. I have a cinco de Mayo special of grilled grouper with a tomato sauce over rice and beans. The grouper was cooked really well but nothing really had much flavor. I've never used so much salt as I did that night. The seared tuna appetizer was a joke. Frozen pink, flavorless tuna over some crunchy rice. A complete fail! read more

We had an absolutely excellent experience dining here a few days ago! Our waitress, Areonna, was so warm and kind! Loved having her and she was wonderful. The food was AMAZING! We started with a crabcake - soooo good, and we each got the Island Filet. The steak was cooked perfectly and covered in soooo much delicious lobster and a buttery sherry sauce. We had a relaxing evening here. It was our first time eating here. The staff was friendly and polite. The food here was excellent. I even had a glass of wine. (Not a big drink so not a real wine drinker but I took the advice from my wife and had a glass. Good marriage tip: guys listen to your wife. She has good taste and makes good decisions. Just remember you were one of her choices.) We ate here in the summer so we sat inside, it appears they have a beautiful outdoor seating area that is not in use during the summer. Everything here was great, we even ordered dessert. We do not normally order desert but what was offered we could not pass it up. I look forward to coming back here. read more
