I was roaming around pikes market Street in stumbled upon this French bakery. It was busy, but it has so much pastry in there and everything looked great. The ambience was a typical bakery, but a little bit upscale there were some seatings. The almond croissant I had was OK. I've had better. Overall, it was good but next time I would try other things.
I stopped in to get a snack when I was at the market this week. Their pastries all looked delicious and I decided to try an almond croissant. I was able to get a seat by the front window so I could do some people watching while I ate. My croissant looked a bit better than it tasted. It didn't have a whole lot of almond flavor and it was kind of chewy but that may have been due to the extremely warm temperature. The person who helped me was super friendly. I'd stop in if you have a hankering for French pastries while at the market.
Stopped for coffee and a little bite before we walked around the area! Line was long but went fast!! I got a vanilla iced latte and these little donut-like bites- they were a little plane but really good actually!! My coffee was yummy as well! My boyfriend just got a hot vanilla latte and enjoyed that with me! The inside was cutely decorated for the World Cup! I love how the city embraced it! Definitely worth the stop (especially if you can't get into the Starbucks.... This is better!!!!)
You know it's a good sign when you walk in and it smells amazing. Line wasn't too long but it is hard to see the options in the cases when there are people in front of you blocking the case. Staff is very helpful and friendly and move you through the line quickly. Great location right in the heart of Pike Place Market and it's really cool vibe inside. Can't wait to try all the pastries I got!
SO many choices here - I tried the almond croissant and it was spectacular!!! To be honest, I've had it before and I keep coming back for more! But try everything here! It's all so good and made in house so you know everything is fresh!!! The service is great! Watch the signs so you know where to line up and stand to order. It's a small establishment with a few seats on high tops, but you won't need to spend hours here - or - take your food and drinks up to the waterfront to dine and enjoy the ambiance!
Long lines that move very quickly. Hard to decide what to get because everything looks delicious! Not enough seating so just be ready to grab your items and take off to find a place to eat your yummys.
I got the graines (4.25/5) and campagne (4.25/5) loaves. Both have a semi crunchy crust, airy interior, and toast well! The service was pretty good (4/5); they do a good job of keeping the line moving.
Cute place, very expensive for being in Pike. The staff was kinda pretentious... when asking what things were (since some things had no labels) am I psychic? I got an almond croissant which was very crunchy and the center was almost like a custard. Odd. The macrons were the star of the show. I would go back only for those. Not worth trying. So many more places in Pike to goto.
Food: Spinach Épinard (7.5/10) - on the savory side of baked goods here! it was crispy and also flavorful. it wasn't too salty or anything either. there was crisp and fluffy texture to it as well. Pavlova (7/10) - tastes like whipped cream with meringue and a very unique but fresh mango and passion fruit filling. i wasn't a fan of the filling it tasted a bit herby but it wasn't bad. the shape of this dessert is so cute! it's definitely sweet and has an airy texture. Service: Pretty quick, helpful, and sweet. They keep the long line moving while still having a positive attitude Ambiance: Cozy and warm type of feeling at this bakery. Super busy atmosphere because it's so popular and a long line out the door. There's seating but not a whole lot and it's pretty packed. Super cute bakery!
It's a very French bakery (as their sign says) located right at pike market place. Tends to get super busy with people ordering and many many tourists ordering as well. Coffee was real good and so were the huge assortment of pastries. Sitting area is minimal so you have to watch out for available spots or you at standing up.
We got 3 delicious pastries to try while visiting the Pike Market. Fluffy and delicious and probably better with a coffee or milk. If you are visiting the market, should try their pastries.
The line was out the door on a Wednesday at 7:15 am. The almond croissant was fantastic. Fresh, flaky and buttery. The chocolate eclair was not something I would get again. Take your goodies and walk across the street and enjoy breakfast at the waterfront.
Cozy French bakery in the heart of Pike Place Market! Lines can get pretty long with the heavy foot traffic so get there early. There's a nice variety of pastries but the beautiful Kouign Amann caught my eye. It was pretty good, sweet crispy and flaky- it was so good that I went back in line to get more pastries. The almond and almond chocolate croissant and mushroom tart made it back to CA with me and they were tasty when revitalized in the air fryer. Recommend adding it to your Pike Place list, good breakfast or dessert/snack spot after getting some Pike Place chowder, Beecher's mac n cheese, and Piroshkies!

We were around pike place and starving. Every restaurant had a long line which was moving slower than a snail. We wanted to grab something quick and happened to see this French bakery. Though there was a line, it was fast moving. A step inside the bakery and we could smell the freshness of the bakes. It took about 30 min to go near the counter. Everything looked fantastic, we wanted to get a bite of everything there. We went with croissants, chocolate and pistachios Éclairs, slice of Tarte aux pêches and a Au Jardin. Everything we got was delicious, the Croissant au Beurre was flaky buttery and melted in our mouth. Our favorites were the Éclairs, unlike other places it was not overpoweringly sweet but the natural flavors were enhanced and loved every bite of it. The prices are reasonable and worth every penny. I would highly recommend this place. read more

Ambiance is nice, and everything looks fancy and yummy, but I was disappointed. I offered a chocolatine-almond and chocolate croissant. It was good, but messy and very gooey with the almond filling. My latte tasted burnt, and just wasn't impressive. Staff are very kind! read more

REALLY YUMMY FRENCH PASTRIES! Was at Pike Place and was in the mood for pastries and coffee. My friends and I got a variety of pastries and they were all tasty. I couldn't choose between the almond croissant (Amandine) or the chocolate croissant (Pain au Chocolat) , so I opted for the Chocolatine (chocolate AND almond croissant). I ended up trying all the three and can report that I liked the Chocolatine the best! Definitely recommend Service was great and everyone was really friendly! read more

A must visit when at Pike Place Market! Their fresh baked pastries are delicious! The kouign aman is my favorite. It is a caramelized croissant that is full of deliciousness! Pairs well with coffee. I'd highly recommend visiting during the morning hours. Staff were very friendly and good with suggestions. It is a very small shop with limited seats but a cute place to take some fun photos! read more

Incredible French bakery at Pike Place market! The line is ever-present, but I was able to experience this lovely spot via a Pike Place market food tour I booked. We got to try a very generous portion of the Potato bacon pastry with Beecher's cheese -- so good! Really enjoyed the pastries here. read more
I've always been intrigued by this bakery but never stopped in due to the massive lines that always seem to be in front of the store. Over the past weekend we decided to brave the line, which extended all the way outside, around the corner, and up the slope. This was at 11AM on a Saturday and it ended up taking only about 30 minutes. Baguette ($3.60) - This baguette is not particularly chewy and instead is very light, airy, and dry. The crumb is mainly closed and is very similar to sandwich bread. It doesn't resist being crushed using a bread knife and doesn't even attempt to bounce back and reform after being cut. The exterior is thin, flaky, and crumbly with no golden brown crusty bits. This baguette resembles a grocery store-style baguette vs. a typical crusty and and chewy French baguette. It seems to be a low quality baguette. Very disappointing. If their baguette isn't very good, I can't imagine any of their other breads being any good. (2/5) Jambon Beurre ($11.10) - This is a simple classic jambon buerre, with only baguette, butter, and thinly sliced ham. The ham is nice - it's clearly higher quality than most deli ham, being not too salty nor strongly ham juice flavored. It's the perfect meaty texture. The butter is nice, allowing the sandwich to glide down the throat. It doesn't really have much flavor though and instead is a very pasty off-white color like normal bulk butter. The baguette might not be great by itself, but it works well in a sandwich format. (4/5) Amandine ($6.25) - This looks like a double baked croissant given how flat it is, but given the soft texture, it's probably more akin to a traditional almond croissant. The croissant is cut in half and slathered with a good amount of almond frangipane. The frangipane is on the grittier side, is sweet, and has a bit of an alcohol taste to it. Given how thin the croissant is, it's hard to tell how well laminated it is. The taste is too alcoholic for me and it's texturally disappointing. (2/5) Kouign Amann ($5.85) - One of the strangest looking Kouign Amanns I've seen. The bottom has a very nice sugar glaze, but the top looks kind of like a golden brown brioche or dinner roll that's a little darker than usual. I thought they gave us the wrong item before I turned it over. The kouign amann is very airy and open with thicker, poorly laminated layers. The top and interior aren't really sweetened and don't really have any butter flavor, while the caramel crust on the bottom really flavors the whole pastry. The caramel is sweet, sticky, and delicious. The lack of butter taste is very evident, but the pastry is still pretty good in overall taste, at least to me. (3/5) The quality of the goods served at Le Panier is a bit suspect. Based on what I tasted through all four items I ordered, I can only think that they use cheap and low quality ingredients and possibly poor technique to bake their breads and treats. I assume they are only popular because they are in a very well traveled location in Pike Place and have some history. With that being said, even if lower in quality, some of the items can still be decent to good. read more

I can confirm that this is not a tourist trap, unlike some of the other spots in Pike Place Market. We stayed in downtown Seattle for three days, and we came to Le Panier every single morning. Their almond croissants are to die for - soft, flaky, and filled with the most delicious almond paste ever. Paired with a warm London Fog, it was the perfect way to start each day. The macarons were also amazing. Their best seller is the pistachio, but my personal favorite, shared by the kind lady who helped us, was the blueberry. She even tossed an extra into the bag on the house. Le Panier is one of those rare places that delivers consistently excellent food and drinks while still maintaining a high level of service, even amidst the daily hustle and bustle of Pike Place Market. read more

I walked in and immediately fell in love with the bakery smell of coffee and butter. What more can I say, I caved when I saw all of those macarons and had to get all of the flavors! I also bought some palmiers as a souvenir for my mom, but forgot to take a photo of it. The check out process was easy and I didn't feel rushed at all. Tip: their gift packaging option for the macarons can only fit 9, so be sure to ask for the traditional paper box if you want to try all 10 flavors! read more

Le Panier is a beloved Pike Place staple -- and it absolutely lives up to the hype. This French-style bakery offers a mouthwatering variety of desserts, pastries, and sweet treats that make it hard to choose just one (or two... or three). We tried the chocolate cake slice, and it was everything you'd want in a dessert: moist, dense, perfectly sweet, and beautifully presented. A true indulgence. The coffee-flavored macaron was another highlight -- crisp and flaky on the outside, soft and delicate on the inside, with a subtle coffee flavor that wasn't overly sweet. Just perfect. There is some indoor seating, but we recommend taking your treats to go and enjoying them by the water -- it makes the experience even better. Vibes are very chill inside and the service was super quick, we were in and out in 5 mins! If you're strolling through Pike Place, don't miss this place. It's popular for a reason. read more
I grabbed a Dauphinois pastry to go. It hit the spot!! It's a tiny place with just enough tables to get by, but it made more sense for us to grab our treats for later. We also grabbed a pear tart for thanksgiving this year, and it was delectable. If you have kiddos and wanna grab them a drink, the apple juice tasted just like biting into the juiciest fresh apple. Definitely recommend going there whenever possible for treats. read more

Le Panier? More like Le Pani-ain't (really bad French joke). I had a plain butter croissant and was woefully disappointed by it...the outside had no crunch and the inside was not fluffy. It was more like...a mush. Like an old Costco croissant that had been sitting out in the sun for a week. Blah! Really nice and convenient location next to Pike Place market. Very lively and fun, but as far as quality French baked goods I think I'll have to give it a hard pass. Workers were kind enough! And it was easy to get my order in. Super hard to find a seat. read more

This is a must when in Seattle. Always a long line. Located outside of Pike Place market. Their pastries were so good. Purchased almond croissant, chocolate croissant, original croissant, macarons, coffee, and mocha drink. I also bought a sandwich to go. Everything were delicious read more

Yum, yum and YUM! We came across this several years ago when we traveled to Seattle to pick up our Maine Coon from a lady we knew a little north of here. AMAZING!!! Ever since, my partner has begged to go back to Seattle if for nothing other than Le Panier. Here we are. And it does not disappoint. The long line is a tell tale sign of the amazing quality and delicious food. If you're in the area it's so worth the trip! read more
Wow this Almond Chocolatine keeps on giving! My first impression was suspicious because when I asked them to heat it up for me to eat warm they said they can't do that, but this pastry is actually so good even room temp! (I still recommend trying to get it made fresh if you can time it well) The almonds add such a welcome crunch to the fluffy flaky croissant dough. The chocolate is rich and dark to balance out the sweetness from the powdered sugar. This is really important to me because I hate pastries which are sickly sweet. To top it all off, it even has a sweet cream inside that occasionally adds variety to the experience by providing a fresh differently textured bite! read more
03.15.2025 When in Seattle, Le Panier is a must! Second time in Seattle and both times, we've stopped here for some savory and sweet pastries. I've only tried their Champignon pastry and immediately fell in love with it. So I knew I was getting 2 this time, especially since I don't know when I'll ever be back. The earthy mushrooms left my palate wanting to go in for the third, fourth and fifth bite. The puff pastry was so flaky and I especially loved that it was served hot. It was the perfect snack for a cold rainy day. With something salty and savory, it only made sense to balance it out with something crunchy and sweet. So we also got their peach tart. Unfortunately, just before I went in for my first bite, I found a piece of hair on it. I brought it to the cashier and one of the worker immediately took it back and offered to cut a new slice from an untouched tart. I have to say, their customer service was efficient in rectifying the problem, which left me feeling very pleased. This tart was simply delightful. The crushed pistachios added a creaminess to the sweetness of the peach. As all their pastry selections are displayed in a clear case, it might be inevitable for things to land on some of their items. This is understandable. We also tried their chocolate almond croissant and some type of Sablé cookie. If, whenever we are back, we're definitely making another stop for some yummy goodies. Located on Pike Place, steps away from the famous Pike Place Market Neon Sign, Le Panier takes you to French Bakery Land, where the Almond Croissants and Macarons are freshly made, I came 30 minutes before closing, it was the street parking that was taking up my time, lol. But this place did not disappoint! Both are my favs and had to take a box back to California! There was a line of course to get inside, you know it is good when there is a line!! If the line doesn't stop you, the smell of fresh croissants can, and that's what stopped me! Inside you feel like you are somewhere in France, there is not too many seats inside, but they have a bar stool seating area overlooking the busy Pike Place Market so if people watching is your thing, you have a front row view! I ordered the Macarons- Pistachio and Caramel, they also serve quiches and croissants, that I have to try when I get back! I also ordered an Iced Latte with Oat Milk that made it extra creamy, overall I will be back!! read more

Headed in for a quick dessert at around 4 pm and a lot of their options were sold out for the day. There wasn't a line so we were able to choose our option and get it pretty fast but it was still pretty packed inside and we found a place to stand at the table lining the entrance area. Tartelette Citron - It had a great fresh lemon flavor that was a sourness I really enjoyed paired with the sweet cream on top. The sides of the crust were a little hard to break through but the center portion was thin, soft and buttery. Since it was nearing the end of the day, I wondered if that made a difference in how the crust was but the quality still shone through. Looking forward to going back to try some of their other classic baked goods like the croissants. read more
Great, but my expectations were pretty high due to the large amount of high ratings. What we got: Pistachio eclair, roulé raisins (raisin croissant), and roulé cannelle (cinnamon sugar croissant). The raisin pastry is a staple of my childhood and I thought it was pretty standard here. The cinnamon sugar croissant was quite underwhelming as far as flavor. The eclair stole the show; again pretty standard eclair, but that pistachio filling was rich, flavorful, and delightful. Atmosphere: There's a small "dining" area in the front of the bakery. We got takeout and the ordering area felt open and everything looks clean! Service: The girl taking care of us was very patient and knowledgeable of the menu. read more

Came here when going to Pike's Place Market and waited a bit, but not horribly long. I am so happy we came here! Everything was amazing. The painier is delicious and the macarons were amazing- probably the best I've ever had. I wish I had gotten a coffee, but was caffeinated out at the time, so I did not. I'll definitely have to grab some the next time I'm at the market (as well as more baked goodies!) read more

Wanted a little sweet treat and saw they had macarons. I got the chocolate and pistachio for a little "Dubai chocolate moment," and both were delicious. I wish I ended up getting more! Love the macarons. The line was short and moved quickly. read more

This is a butter little bakery-coffee house by the Pike Place Market with a line out the door. There is a little bit of seating some of it having out the window to watch people walking by. They have a wall with beautiful-looking loaves of bread, a case with taste and pies, a case with macarons, and a case with croissants and other parties, as well as some grab and go packages of cookies and other goodies. There is also a place to order coffee and juice. The staff was super friendly and sweet. We just got coffee, and it was reallllly good. We had a latte and a cafe mocha. We had been warned by a local, the your guide at the underground tour, to try real Seattle coffee, and to not bother going to Starbucks (not even the original). He likened it to going to Italy and eating at the Olive Garden. We took his advice, and we glad we did. It was delish. No wonder the line was out the for! read more

This spot had quite a line, but it was worth the wait! There were so many pastries to choose from, and I had to hold myself back from grabbing everything. I got a kouign-amann and three macarons (passion fruit, pistachio, and strawberry) for later. The kouign-amann was delicious--crispy and caramelized on the outside with soft, flaky layers inside. The macarons were great too, especially the passion fruit. Definitely a place I'd visit again! read more

Le Panier is such a cute little French bakery in Pike Place Market. I tried four macarons and the pistachio was my favorite. If you get four, they come in an adorable box, and less than four you get a bag--super handy if you just want a few to snack on. I paired mine with an espresso, which balanced out the sweetness really nicely. The line moves pretty quickly, even on a busy Saturday, so it's easy to grab something without a long wait. Definitely stop by if you're in the area--you won't regret a little macaron treat while exploring the market! Service: 10/10 - loved chatting with the staff ! Is it necessary to arrive early in the day for best selection (amandine croissant, any other popular items) - do they run out by the afternoon as some places do?
Yes, as any place going early is best, but they are always replacing what has been sold, the place gets busy but they do stop replacing baked goods close to closing time.
Are there any glazed croissants?
Traditional croissants-- but they have some great fillings and styles that vary. We had a fantastic cherry pistachio one a few months ago! The chocolate and almond are also delicious.
Better to eat-in or take out? (Always packed...)
It's nice to eat there if you r able to find a seat
