Honestly, I didn't start trying this place until I worked in Pasadena. The son is very nice and is willing to go out of the way for my orders. The coffee is really good here, I like that they offer French or hazelnut creamer such a plus. Breakfast English muffin, egg and cheese with bacon is really good. That's already a huge plus since I dislike it when restaurants have ETAs of 30-45 minutes. This review is long overdue. My friend introduced me to this place probably 12-15 years ago. The chicken hoagie is 10/10, and the help yourself pickled bar is delicious. Everything's good but the carrots & turnips are my favorite. I feel like the same guy has been taking my order for years and he's always super friendly. The prices to this day are reasonable and it's a very clean establishment overall. A very local family owner feeling. Every now and again I am bummed that they close at 4 when I get my hoagie craving too late but it makes it that much more special when I catch them in time. The Philly cheesesteak was delicious, wish it had more cheese but the beef quality, flavor was excellent overall. The zucchini fries were good and the ranch sauce took it over the top. Here I am again waiting for my car. Front and back brakes! 3 hour job! Lee's is still a great bfast place. My diet has changed and today I got a protein burrito. Inside burrito is chicken, avocado, tomato, and egg whites wrapped in a spinach tortilla. Side of green salsa. Don't forget the coffee! They have a whole wall of condiments for your food and coffee. I am so glad I discover this place. OMG ! The pickle collection is better than my grandmas pickle . We ordered they chicken sandwich which was melting in your mouth. It's a charred tender chicken with super toasty bread was amazing . Prices were great . Quality surpass the price by double or more. Great value for great food. Staff were amazing. But it's got to say their manager was loud person. Definitely we will be back . They had all types of sauces that you can think of it next to pickles . It's a buddy breakfast place or a down to earth but quality sandwich place if you wanna grab something with your partner and go somewhere. A lovely little gem in Pasadena. There's so many things in the menu, I couldn't decide what I wanted. Since I came in the morning at 10am, I decided on a breakfast item and to try a sandwich. Pasadena still has outdoor dining so you can sit outside to enjoy the sun. When I was there, there weren't any other people since it was a weekday. I got the California omelette. It comes with hash browns and toast. The omelette was cooked well. I enjoyed the hash browns but I think it could have been cooked a little longer to make it more crispy. But it still had some crunch and some softness. They have a lot of different options of bread for your toast. I tried the hot pastrami sandwich after seeing so many pictures of it. It's cooked so the pastrami is a little crispy. It's nice and hot. It does have a lot of pickles in it so beware. I also tried their orange juice. It's was very fresh with just the right amount of tangy, sweetness, and pulp. I look forward to try some of their plates and other sandwiches. read more

I have the chicken Hoagie sandwich and it is so delicious. So many amazing flavors. The owners are a dad and his son and they go above and beyond to provide the best customer service you can think of. With this said, my photo-less review is the truth - Lee's chicken hoagie is the best in town. I can't explain it. If you go inside to pick up your order, make sure to visit the little pickled assortment bar where you'll find peppers, radishes, pickles and almost anything that can be pickled. If you want to supplement your sandwich, get an order of chili cheese fries with onions. If you want more greens, their grilled chicken salad is really good and my wife's go to meal. Lastly, be kind because you can tell how much the owner takes pride in his food. He remembers you by name and always has a smile on his face. What can I say about this small eatery other than that it has the best chicken hoagie I've ever had. People drive for miles just for this item alone. Maybe it's the bread because it's baked fresh. Maybe it's the chicken, perfectly seasoned and grilled, and always tender. Or, it's the crisp shredded lettuce that's got a little bit of a tang and holds it all together. Pair the sandwich with some garlic fries and you've got yourself a heck of a lunch. The menu is pretty large. I'd recommend trying their breakfast items as well. Large portions and well worth the money. The place itself is clean and well-operated. I like their soda machine as they offer the most popular brands, not just the weird-tasting ones you see at other other spots. Also, the self-serve area has pickled items that make a good complement to your meal. The owner who is always running the register is a really nice guy who greets you like you're an old friend. I've been there only a handful of times over the years and he seems to recognize me always as he greets me with nice-to-see-you-again. Grew up in the 80s in East Pasadena; was hopeful during a visit home to check out neighborhood mainstay Lee's because it's been a minute. Greeted nicely by the original owner and his son who was doing some kind of paperwork behind the register. Asked the owner's son to help with a question about breakfast, to which he replied they weren't serving breakfast anymore (mind you, it was 10:50 and the menu says breakfast served until 11 A. M.) I said fine, but may I ask my question about your breakfast? The son then gave an exasperation, sarcasm in replying "sure, it's not like I'm busy or anything." Nice customer service. Before I hightailed it out of there, I said he had bad customer service, to which he said (in front of Dad), "yeah I'm sorry for being busy to answer your question about a burrito, just email me and I'll reply; I apologize for my service, it's s***ty; I'll take a class for it!" HEY GENIUS, you could have avoided this one-star review: do your paperwork in the back of the house like a normal manager and leave the FOH work to people who can actually do their job right. ALSO SERVE BREAKFAST UNTIL THE TIME THAT'S POSTED ON YOUR MENU! You might have gotten two or maybe three stars for the delicious food that I'll only ever remember FNO.
