I've been going to legends for many many years now at least since they opened approximately 20 years ago perhaps? I like their Carne Asada tacos!! There's enough meat and goodies in there that you could make two tacos out of one and you can ask for a roasted jalapeño to give it a little kick. However my favorite thing to get and probably only other thing I've ever eaten at legends until this morning, is the patty melt. It is so delicious! However, I was on my way back from hiking Mount Baldy And I wanted to stop for some coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Let's just say the coffee was just playing old Joe I am very weak. I got the bacon and egg sandwich although I ordered the ham and egg sandwich, so they got my order wrong. I got my dad the sausage and egg sandwich. They both were sub par and I would not recommend either one of them. The service is always friendly and efficient but tends to be on the slow side. Next time I'm back in my hometown of Upland I plan to try something different, like one of their other sandwiches. I'm giving them a pass on the breakfast sandwiches and keeping my review at four stars. read more

I had been craving Legends for a while and hadn't been in a long time. Man has the quality really gone down. I ordered the Gyro combo. The gyro itself was good but the tzatziki sauce was bland and was also frozen. The fries were really undercooked to the point they were still somewhat hard. Very little seasoning on them as well. Legends is not your typical fast food burger place. It has a very extensive menu including full breakfasts, salads and mexican food. The burgers are nothing too special, so I normally get sandwiches or chicken strips. The fries with their ranch dressing is MUST. I also love that they have 2 flavors of iced tea. It breaks my heart that I have to write this review as I've been eating Legends since they started allowing us to buy it with play money in elementary school. I hyped up Legends so much to my friends at university and when they and I finally ate it together, it was the most underwhelming experience ever. I thought it might have been a fluke but every year I've come back home and ate with old high school friends and the quality has not only stagnated but is sharply declining. I'm a pretty picky eater so I usually just stick with a classic chicken tender and chili cheese fries combo; can't go wrong with that, right? Well I went last night and I was charged $26 for 5 chicken tenders and a gigantic plate of chili cheese fries. The chicken tenders were super mediocre tastewise but the tiny portions are what killed it for me. On the other hand, the chili cheese fries was far too big and the cheese wasn't even melted. A running theme in a lot of reviews I've read is that there's a lack of seasoning on the fries and it's hard to disagree when I had to comb through tens of fries to find a single one with any form of seasoning. I can't tell if we're in a drought for that specific seasoning but there's no reason it should be skimpy. Unfortunately, last night, me and my friends came to the conclusion that we would not be coming back to Legends for our meetups anymore considering the drastic drop in quality. After finished hiking Mt Baldy, decided to stop by this joint to get something to eat. I have been to the other location before so this is my first time trying out this location. I just love their decoration inside the restaurant, so retro with all the celebrities pictures like Janes Dean, marilyn Monroe, Lucky ball, Elvis, etc.. all over the walls. Plus all the license plates from all the states, AND they always play some good ol oldies, which I enjoy. The only thing missin in this place are some waitress wearing roller skates serving the customers. :-) So this time I tried their pastrami cheeseburger. The only thing I didn't like about this burger was their patties were a little thin, but the burger was pretty good side, way bigger than The Habit, I really like they put the pastrami on the top AND bottom of the sandwich so with every bite u will taste the pastrami, which was ok compare to The Hat. Overall my burger was very juicy, great portion size, I really liked it. Plus their fries with some Cajun pepper on them with a side of ranch sauce was also good. I USED to rave about and recommend Legends burgers to everyone in the area for their expansive menu, excellent portion sizing for the cost, and of course, their previously delicious food. Unfortunately after my last visit, I don't feel I can continue to recommend Legends. They have become just another average burger spot. Their fries (which used to be one of the main draws for this spot) have been changed, and not for the better, unfortunately. Portion sizes decreased even though prices have been increased, the menu has been shortened considerably, and the staff seem overworked and stressed to the point of them making multiple errors on my order, which was only 1 burger combo. The staff is very kind and were able to remedy my issues just fine, but on top of the decreased portions, shortened menu, and higher prices, I feel Legends has lost the magic that kept me coming back all these years. Hopefully with constructive feedback, they can make some changes to bring that magic back. read more
