    Cheese bread

We stopped by here due to the excellent reviews on Yelp and boy were we surprised. Being a gluten free bakery, I wasn't expecting much but literally their treats were so tasty that I couldn't even tell that it didn't have any gluten in it! On our first visit, we got a cheese scone and it was so fresh and warm! We loved it so much that we went back a second time within the month to pick up more of their breads and also got ourself a whole sourdough loaf. A must visit as a bakery!

Amazing. The Berry mousse cake is probably the best mousse cake I've ever had. I'd love to come back here and try some of their other items!

One of the best gluten free croissants I've ever had! It was very flaky and buttery at the same time. I would go out of my way to come back just to get one. Their sweet treats are also tasty and a hit amongst celiacs & gluten-eaters alike. The aesthetic of their desserts is also on point (see photos).

Unfortunately I had a mixed experience here. I emailed a day prior to order a sliced sourdough bread. When I went to pick it up I had let the employee working at the front that I had placed an order for a sliced sourdough. She had said okay no problem, we're just about to slice it for you. I said great. I also purchased almond biscotti and a slice of lemon loaf. The lemon loaf and almond biscotti were to die for! I found the taste of the sourdough to be very bland; similar to regular bread. Later that day I received a phone call from Tracy (I think that was her name and she must own the bakery) asking if I was coming by to pick up my sourdough loaf. I let her know that I already came in and let the person at the front know I was picking up my order. She responded in a rude tone that she has a sliced sourdough waiting for me. Sorry, but I'm not going to buy another one when I already did my part in this and picked up my preordered loaf. There was no need to be rude!!!

Cinnamon danish. Wow wow so delicious.

Wow, the cinnamon danish was unbelievable! If you like citrus, the lemon merengue tart is a must-get as well. This was my first time visiting the bakery, and I will definitely be back whenever I travel to Vancouver! I arrived right when they opened on a Wednesday and was fourth in line.

Chocolate coconut cupcake, chocolate silk? And mango cheesecake

I'm not a gluten intolerant person but was on the hunt for a cake that was gluten free for someone who is gluten intolerant. Bought the mini versions to try before committing to a full size cake. Tried the following three items: Chocolate coconut cupcake - I think had shredded coconut in the actual cupcake so I didn't like the texture of it. Chocolate Sin - the best of the three but it's like a mouse and not cake. Mango cheesecake - didn't really taste like mangos and I feel like it had an artificial sweetener aftertaste. I don't mean to be critical but knowing what cakes normally taste like and being used to eating them gluten and all, I have to say I wouldn't eat gluten free for fun.

    Cranberry pecan tart

Awesome! Got a pecan cranberry tart to die for, not too sweet! And sourdough bread that rips like the sourdough loaves I used to enjoy pre-gf and is miraculously not dry like most gf bread.

You have to like Gluten free or gluten intolerant to like the lemon cake. Well the lemon cake tasted normal and not bad at first but its the breading at the bottom that was a bit sandy tasting. It was ok. I mean just eat the lemon top and you have a smile on your face.

Lemonade on Cambie St @ 18th Ave

Small quaint bakery for gluten free foodies! To be honest - my several visits here have been for 1 reason only - the Lemon Slice! Absolute delight - I share these occasionally with friends! It's very difficult to do so! When you're on Cambie St. check this joint out!!!

Lemonade is a small bakery shop on Cambie Street, it bakes in organic quinoa, flours, use non GMO oil and etc. You would able to find daily breads, muffins, scones, cookies, savory breads, personal sized cakes and etc. I bought some cookies (Chocolate Almond Sparkle. Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Quinoa Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin) and cakes, they are crunchy and favorable. However, I found it's a bit sweet for me. This is a good bakery shop if you don't like to shop at Whole Food.

I was meeting a friend here yesterday who's visiting from California, and when deciding on a meeting place, we realized a bunch of the Gastown coffee roaster places were closed on Sunday, so I mentioned Breka , knowing it was opened 24/7. (LOVE this!). Plus, this site is close to Waterfront Station, and my friend had a busy day planned, taking the Seabus to N.Van and doing a lot of sightseeing. So this Breka was perfect. I was there early at 10 am-ish, and from the outset, I was impressed: exposed brick wall, long counter and display case, fully stocked with the most beautiful pastries and tarts and cakes, and lovely looking sandwiches, too....Just lovely. I ordered a tea from the guy taking the orders. At the check-out, the woman working the cashier was the most unfriendly, aloof person I have ever encountered at a Breka. She was downright dour. Never looked up, never smiled, said I owed X for the tea I ordered, gave me a receipt and said I was "number 3", no "thank you" (despite my saying thanks!), nothing. She looked really unhappy and bothered to be there. (I sat at a nearby table, waiting for my number to be called. I saw her interactions with all the people behind me - and there were quite a few, as it got suddenly busy in the cafe. She was cold and unfriendly to everyone in line as she rang them all up. These are mostly tourists! Why have a dour, borderline-hostile woman at the check-out counter of a busy cafe in a touristy part of our city? I just don't get it). Anyhow, I waited 10 minutes to hear my number called, but I never heard it. I walked up to the take-out area and there was my tea, on a receipt that said "number 3". Did they call out my number? I honestly don't know. I was seated at a table a few feet from the area and listening for my number and I didn't hear it called. I was not impressed with this set-up. Not at all. My friend arrived and got a chocolate concoction which looked amazing, and he loved it, so there's that. I still love Brekas but I probably won't return to this site. Between the cold experience at the cash and the prolonged waiting for my order (a cup of tea!), and not being sure if my order number was ever called, it just all left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.

I even replied back and nothing. We own and run several business in lower mainland and in United States and this customer service from Unni Pastries is trash. At least you can do is reply back and apologize? For wasting time when I specifically told you it's for family and friends flying into town for a funeral burial. Will never use their business again. I highly suggest Mello. They replied and helped me out last minute. Shame on you! Learn how to run a business and treat customers esp previous customers who were supporting the business and fellow Krn but it's clear the new owner doesn't care about the customer or quality it's all about quantity. Maybe my 39 donuts which I offered to pay extra for time and packaging wasn't large enough but money is money. Especially during this time and economy. You should've at least replied back and even tried asking us to do pickup as the restaurant is down the road. Do better!
