Had a kitchen sink clog problem. I really didn't know who to call, but I heard about Gotelli plumbing here in Brisbane. Tom , ( the plumber who came) over was prompt, and knew exactly what the problem was. The clog was pretty well down the drain line. He unplugged it promptly, and gave me a few tips about keeping the drain line clear. Later the same day the dishwasher wasn't draining, I called Tom back, and he made time in his day to come back over, check it out, and all seems fine. Tom puts his customers' satisfaction #1. Last week my young son turned off the shower and the faucet handle literally fell off. The fixture lay in several pieces on the floor of the shower, so I called my property manager and she called Leo Gotelli Plumbing first thing the next morning. After a couple of phone calls trying to coordinate schedules.... At 6:00 pm on a Friday evening, Brian Gotelli arrived at my apartment, took a look at the fixture and told me he had the part in his truck. He came back in, installed the new fixture and that was it. His work took about 10 minutes, he was very courteous and efficient, and I got to take a shower! I didn't expect to receive help on a Friday evening and I didn't expect to have someone be as pleasant as Brian was. I am a very happy girl. read more

I had a particularly difficult wall mounted toilet job that other plumbers (teams of 2 people) had struggled with and hadn't been able to solve. I spoke with Leo over the phone and he sent someone initially to evaluate the job. We scheduled the work and Bernardo showed up from Leo Gotelli Pumbing. He was on time, came equipped with the proper tools and was ready to go. Bernardo quickly and competently installed the bowl of the toilet, we then noticed that the tank had cracked during transport. I purchased another tank and Bernardo returned after his mid-day job to completely the work. This job had been half completed for months because of other teams of plumbers, but Bernardo made the installation easy and professional. Beware never again. We had a plugged drain, so we called and a person was sent out the same day. I'm not a plumber but It didn't look like he knew what he was doing, and he was unsuccessful. The next morning two of them came out with a camera and determined that roots broke a pipe stating that Leo would come out and give a quote to repair, but no show - no call. We have called multiple times left a message with a woman, and he actually did call back once. This has been going on for at least three weeks. We were billed for approximately 5 hours. I talked to Leo and he stated they he would come out to give a quote and bring a flash drive the next day with the picture of the blockage but again no show - no call. read more

Had a service call and after that I phoned in with a question about the work done. The person answering the phone said, I'll come and check it out. I asked, do I have to pay. They replied no. Then they came out, claimed that there was no problem and charged me. I don't question their trade skills but this was TOTALLY unacceptable and I'd suggest working with someone else. read more

After going through a multitude of excuses with Drain Patrol, and three days after placing the initial call to them, I got fed up enough and called Leo Gotelli Plumbing. I called a dozen plumbers/boilermakers and they were the only ones who knew what I was talking about from the start (regarding a rather complicated hot-water heating system). When the part arrived they were on the job NEXT DAY and worked their ass off to get the job done right. I found them to be knowledgeable, extremely easy to deal with, and absolutely honest. It's mid winter, one of the coldest we've ever had here in San Francisco and I'm trying to do some maintenance on my old steam heat. Being the jack of all trades that I am (and master of none), I mess up the delicate balance of my elderly steam heater. After calling 8 different local boiler repair shops (only to find out every one is too busy to come out) I found Lou. We're his guys busy as well? Yes. So Lou took time out if his day of managing a business to talk with me about the symptoms that my boiler was having. He told me he most likely couldn't repair it but would take a peak and give me his 2 cents. Then, he dropped every thing to make a service call! He came promptly, he knew exactly the problem (which in the end was really just me) and made the adjustments. He brought my boiler back into harmony so that it could function as it should. We used Gotelli plumbing for our full bathroom remodel in our Pacific Heights condo. They did a very professional job and charged reasonable rates - much lower than any of the bids provided by general contractors. They also went above and beyond the call of duty when it was discovered that our wall mount toilet would not fit due to the floor tiles being about an 1/8" higher than what they were suppose to be. This is the only make and type of toilet we can use due to the plumbing mechanics of our building. They successfully, and without any damage, managed to cut about an inch off the base of the porcelain. The toilet then fit in the space and looks fabulous. The price was right but I guess you get what you pay for. The references he gave provided rave reviews. This is a well established multi generational family business. He may be a genius on other plumbing work, but I cannot say how much I regret hiring him for boiler work. I put in a new boiler and it never has worked properly. I must admit, it has continued to operate for several years and I have not had to replace it or incur significant costs. When other plumbers did work in the area later and looked at the installation, they would just shake their heads, point out all the mistakes and wonder who did it. When I told them, they would understand and relate other plumbing stories such as the Octavia steet boiler. I took solace in the fact that it could have been worse. They kept promising and promising to make things right but never did. He would schedule work and never show up or call to say he could not make it. I would have to call and ask what happened and he usually had an excuse, normally some unforeseen emergency or a job that took longer than expected, but never an apology. This happened over and over for many months of unfulfilled promises and unkept appointments until I gave up and had someone else ameliorate the problem. Never Again!!! read more

you have got to be kidding me. these guys put us off for a MONTH on the front end of our job. then, when we told them that they had installed a shower valve upside down, it took them another MONTH to get out to resolve the problem. this was time that the homeowner could not use their home. then, after cutting through the stucco to get access to the valve to reinstall it, they put DUCT TAPE, DUCT TAPE over the hole in the exterior wall. during a time when it was raining like crazy, in a multi-unit building. it has now been another 3 weeks, and they have not come back to fix the stucco. it's like pulling teeth to get them to do anything. it's no wonder that they lost their better business bureau accreditation last october. ridiculous. read more

Called Leo Plumbing last Wednesday morning in a state of panic. Was referred by my workplace who uses them regularly, so I knew they were legitimate. Anyways, my mom's house had a continuous leak from the basement bathroom. Think it had been running for awhile, but it was getting worse. It was not category 5 flooding, but pretty serious, my bucket underneath the sink runeth over and needed to be dumped every 8 hours or so . Leo was very nice over the phone and said that someone would be contacting me and coming by within a couple of hours. After a couple of hours when no one contacted me, I called him again. He was surprised and said that he would call his guys and see what the status was. After five minutes, he called me and said they would be there to see me within a 1/2 hour. They arrived within the 30 minutes, and it was like a godsend. Two guys, Bernardo and this other young guy (sorry, didn't get his name), were very professional; they looked at the leak and immediately went to work. BTW, my basement is not the most clean or tidy place. They did not freak with the massive amount of junk and worked around it efficiently and cleaned up any messes they made. They discovered the problem was just a faulty valve. They fixed it within 15 minutes. I was so happy. I also did not have to pay right away, received the bill in the mail a couple of days later. $120/hour labor plus parts, a minimum of 1 hour for any repair. I do not know what the normal rate is for plumbing work, so maybe that is about right. I may have gotten it cheaper if I looked around, but it was definitely worth it for my peace of mind and knowing they were reliable. read more
