I loved LeQuy. I've been coming here for years! School events and just cuz my family loved their food Today I placed an order over the phone and the guy,who I know who he is, was rather rude. I disregard it to maybe having a bad day, but don't thinks so since this individual is hot and cold. When I went to pick up my food I was shocked to see that no one that was cooking was wearing a mask! The young kid in the front had it around is neck and when he went to charge me he put it on correctly. He charged me my food and left. I wasn't able to say anything cuz no one was in the front. I don't believe we will be back. There are to many restaurants struggling and trying to follow the covid order for LeQuy not to. I had throw away my food and lost 65.00. Apparently this has been going on for days since there is another review that said the same thing. It saddens me that they have no regards for people's health. Being a White Dude, I usually get the "look" whenever I enter a noodle/Pho house!!! Second... Whenever at a noodle/Pho house, I feel like I'm getting rushed!! Have a seat at table 45!!! Then the Bus Boy will stare me down or push his cart by a few times checking me out!! Yeah.. So, here at LeQuy you can relax, enjoy your meal without be hassled!! Very family friendly, thus is why I come!! I order up a simple plate of Grilled Chicken for my big girl. The other day when we all came here, the "Mom" brought out a plate of sliced apples and oranges for my oldest!! How nice is that!?! I'm not one to adventure in Vietnamese cuisine, but the Pho, the grilled chicken are very good!! Must try the Chicken Wings!! I just stick with what I know. We had such a wonderful time visiting our son at LeQuy. Our food was so delicious. We moved away from Campbell up North a few years ago. Whenever we are in town visiting family, we stop to have a bite to eat at our favorite Pho restaurant, LeQuy. I left the restaurant after our yummy meal and forgot my wallet at the register. The restaurant owner, manager and staff were so honest. They kept my wallet, cards and money safe for me to pick up later. I highly recommend trying their dishes. All are fabulous. I was in the mood for something with noodles & decided to give LeQuy a chance because everyone said they don't use MSG. Since I drive by this place all of the time, I finally popped in today. I ordered the Special Combination Dry Noodles which had snow crab claw, squid, jumbo prawn & pork slices. I told her I'd like it to go & when she rang me up, I noticed they charged 25 cents for to go items. Say what? You want to charge me for packing my food in disposable containers? I'm wondering if they charge customers when they ask for to go boxes too?? Kinda ridiculous. Anyway, I went back to work and started unpacking my food. I was expecting something along the lines of Vung Tau or Nam Vang's offerings but this was definitely different. I found a huge pile of noodles with barely any meat & some sauce in one box. Soup was in another container & fresh veggies were in a bag. The sauce was really bland and had big slices of mushroom. The broth was good so I would imagine their pho being a better pick. I guess you could say my craving was not satisfied but it wasn't fair that I set my expectations at a certain level. At $15 for my lunch, I was expecting a much better meal. No MSG?! Count me in! I have hand it to restaurant that offers a healthier selection of food, and LeQuy does just that. Fair warning, it is a little pricier than your typical vietnamese place. and if you are expecting it to taste exactly like Pho, you will be disappointed. The broth itself is a lot lighter, but still very good. You don't feel bloated like a cow after you eat an entire bowl. I came here with two colleagues and we all ordered : 1. Avocado Spring Rolls - $ 3.95 gluten free dish -Avocado, rice vermicelli, and fresh vegetables wrapped in rice paper. This was really different, not your typical spring roll, but if you love avocado, you'll love it. The peanut sauce that went with it however was a little bit light, but with a little bit of sriracha it would have been perfect! 2. Seafood Combination Seafood Noodle Soup with the rice noodles -$12.50 (Yes it is pricey, but for me, it was worth it) Jumbo prawns, jumbo Alaskan snow crab claw, sea bass, and wild caught squid in savory homemade broth. Served with fresh garnish. Choice of rice, clear gluten free dish or egg noodles. They arent kidding when they say jumbo prawns, their huge, juicy and not overdone, and there's a lot of sea bass in it so you are getting your money's worth. Having read Matthew J.'s review that white people are allowed here I put this one on my list right away. The staff was warm and welcoming and we were seated right away. The restaurant was busy as expected on a Friday night. Nice ambiente, especially since they continued the Christmas deco well into February. The menu offers GLUTEN & MSG FREE items - unlike many other, inexpensive Asian eateries, this one you can actually trust. And, oh boy, the food did not disappoint. The CHICKEN NOODLE PHO (with free range chicken, $11) was flavorful and had the right amount of spiciness. The ROCK N ROLL BEEF RICE PLATE ($14) with cubed filet mignon sautéed in a special homemade sauce, with steamed rice and green salad was super delicious, the beef tender and well marinated. My husband asked me on a date tonight. We both did not have dinner. He asked me to choose a place for a late dinner. I remember seeing the restaurant on my home for the Dollar Store. I made a mental note that I wanted to try this place. When we arrived we were greeted by a very nice young woman. We were seated immediately. We were given the menu everything I saw in the menu looked really really good. Breakfast menu to the Dinner menu. Both my husband and I made a mental note on what we want to try for Breakfast. Went to the Dinner menu and it is basic Vietnamese food selection. I ordered the Combination Seafood Noodle Soup. It had Tiger Prawns, Sea Bass, Crab and Squid. I asked that I don't receive any Squid. My husband had the Grill Shrimp and Beef Roll Vermicelli and Shrimp Spring Rolls. Our order of Spring Rolls came. We took one bite all that could be said was MMMMM. I immediately ordered another Shrimp Spring Rolls. The Spring Rolls had vermicelli noodles, cilantro, cucumber and shrimp. Then I looked up and seen the owner coming out with two drinks. He stopped at our table and gave us a Thia Tea. OMG was that best drink I ever had that had no alcohol. It was refreshing you could taste the fresh tea and quality of the cream and/or milk. The drink was not too sweet it was well balance. The owner stated that the tea in that drink was pick fresh from his garden that morning. Needless to say I was impressed and will order that again. I enjoyed the tea and prefer the tea over coffee. Our dinner arrive shortly there after. My husband took one bite and was speechless. Finally I found a place that can silence my husband LOL. My PHO was extremely well prepared. I looked down at my bowl and there were 3 huge prawns cooked to perfection. The Sea Bass was so tasty. It was not fishy at all. The Sea Bass and a natural sweetness, firm and it melted in my mouth, The Crab was a claw. The crab was nice and firm with a natural sweetness you get from FRESH Seafood. I added the fresh basil, bean sprout, jalapeno and squeezed the fresh lime in my bowl. That was the start of private party in my mouth. I tried my husband dish and I now understand his silence. It was so good I had to make myself stop after the second dip in his bowl. Overall, this is a restaurant is well worth the money. I will be going back :). Le Quy is located in a large strip mall with a spacious parking lot and few popular stores, other than the Dollar Store. Their restaurant occupies a large corner spot and appears to be a converted diner space. The interior is bright, clean, and comfortable though some of the booth cushions have some wear and our taped together, including the one I sat at. The menu is broad and reflective of the community in the area. With relatively few Vietnamese cuisine options nearby, Le Quy has chosen to highlight the more well known pho than their signature hu Tieu dishes. They also serve American breakfast fare, probably also in response to the area. The hu Tieu noodles are offered either wet or dry and are the priciest soup noodle offerings at several dollars higher than the pho. I opted for the dry version with soup on the side. ($11.95) The menu description touts a large prawn, fresh crab claw, lean pork loin, squid, and a savory pork meat sauce. Each item was there but I found the sauce to be unlike other hu Tieu noodles I've had. The flavor was more like a pasta sauce than a delicate flavorful finely minced pork sauce like at Vung Tau or Saigon Vien Dong. The clear vermicelli noodles were nicely hot, but the sauce was cold. The soup broth was piping hot but wasn't entirely able to overcome the lukewarm sauce and the flavor. I tried some pho broth with meatballs and agree that's it's more bland than top offerings in San Jose. Overall, it was an ok meal. At the prices, you can get top notch fare about 15-20 minutes drive. This place is pretty good. It's not the same as Vietnamese food in Westminster, but it is one of the better places in the area for Vietnamese food. I ordered a rice dish, similar to a Korean dol sot bi bim bop. it was served in a stone pot so the rice was nice and crispy. It had chicken, sausage, shitake mushrooms, and veggies with the rice. It also came with a small salad and a bowl of broth. The location is great and if I ever have a craving for Vietnamese food but I don't want to drive very far, I will visit LeQuy. read more

This is the old Iron Skillet location. Every business that has been in this location has always eventually shut down. I saw the Iron Skillet open just last week and a few days ago as I was driving home, I saw a sign on the windows saying the grand opening of LeQuy would be on Wednesday, September 21. A tasty Vietnamese joint would be a hit in my books for the city of Campbell. I'd have to drive 30 seconds to this place. My wife and I bought take-out from there today. Interesting thing is that they serve straight up traditional breakfasts in the morning(i.e. eggs benedict, omelettes, etc.) An ldater in the day, they serve Vietnamese cuisine. This recent heat wave prompted myself to skip the pho tonight. I ordered one of the house specials which was sea bass fried rice and my wife got the grilled chicken/rice plate. We ordered an appetizer of spring rolls as well. Fried Rice $9.99 Chicken/Rice plate....$8-9 2 Spring Rolls $3.95 The spring rolls were quite tasty and weren't skimpy at all. I thought they hit the spot, but my wife thought the taste was a bit too shrimpy for her. My wife's chicken was perfectly cooked/marinated. However, the veggies that it came with seemed to be lacking. She was hoping for some more veggies instead of just a few pieces of lettuce. A few tomatoes/cucumber slices would have been nice. My sea bass fried rice was a little bit disappointing. Portion was very large and I ain't no little guy, so that was a good thing. But there wasn't too much sea bass in the fried rice. The fried rice was a bit too peppery, leaving a little kick in the your mouth as the aftertaste. It could have been balanced a little bit more, with some more onion, tomatoes, basil, or scallions. A few pieces of sea bass seemed a bit rubbery as well. I still ate it, because food is food and I needed to eat. I think they're still in the process of hiring servers/waitresses. We saw a lady walk in and ask for the boss. The hostess said that when boss was done with her other interview, she would call the lady's name. Also, I'm a stickler for STRONG AC in a restaurant. I'm always down to eat pho on a HOT HOT day as long as there's AC in the joint. When we walked in, it definitely didn't feel like there was AC. I saw the multiple ceiling fans at work. The hostess was definitely hot behind the counter too. I asked her if there was AC in the restaurant and she replied "yes, but if you find a cool spot in here, please let me know where it is". However, she did mention that the back of the restaurant was a lot cooler than the entrance(where is where we were standing). All in all, I REALLY yearn for this restaurant to do well. It'd be a blessing to have this place to close to home. Hopefully they can work out the kinks early and take customer feedback into consideration. This is a best pho place I've ever been to. I've eaten at a lot of pho places and and generally don't distinguish much between a hole in the wall and mediocre. I like the soup. But this place is great. The ingredients are high quality, the food comes out delicious and the service is the best you could hope for. We're not local anymore, but we make a point of coming here when we're in the area. As a side note, out son has special needs and they've always made him and us feel welcome. Eat here. I will DEFINITELY come back to this place but I'm not sure if I'll order the pho there since I am very familiar with the spices needed to make traditional pho, so the broth is out of place for me. I will happily order the other noodle soups and rice dishes which are excellent! One of the other Yelpers mentioned that their pho was $12.50 but all the pho dishes are $7.95. They probably ordered a specialty noodle soup. The owner mentioned that he will soon put Bún bò Hue (spicy beef noodle soup) and Bún riêu (crab and shrimp rice noodle soup) on the menu. Being of Vietnamese descent, I can only hope that if he decides to put these items on the menu that he won't be afraid to use lots of fish sauce which most traditional Viet soups call for. Just because this place is located in Campbell doesn't mean that it has to cater to westernized taste buds. In any ethnic restaurant that I go to whether it be, Mexican, Afghani, Indian, Ethiopian, Korean, etc...I do expect the dishes to be as authentic as possible. After all, the whole purpose of going to an "ethnic" restaurant is to enjoy something different and to discover something new. Pho sounds like a good idea with the sudden temperature drop, after some yelping we decided to try out LeQuy last evening. When we arrived around 7PM, the place was pretty busy with only a couple of tables still available. The two young waitresses were busy running around but appeared inexperienced. our waitress was attentive but not very organized. We had to repeat our orders by the numbers, ask for water and at one point, we were almost served with someone else' food. We also asked for containers a few times before we finally got it. The spring rolls ($3.95 for two) were decent, the peanut sauce tasted very fresh. The fried shrimp rolls ($6.95 for 3) were also crispy and tasty. Hubby had rock and roll beef (stirred fried fillet $11.95) which was decent but not exceptional. My beef combo pho ($7.95) was good- lots of meat, tasty broth, the noodles were a bit over cooked therefore lack the chewiness I enjoy. Daughter had the BBQ chicken with vermicelli ($7.95), a lot of tender chicken, good portion and fresh tasting. Overall, we thought this is a place with good potential, we'd rank the food a little higher then the service. We do like the fact that it's closer to us then Pho Wagon, it's nice and a clean with more menu choices. Service can use some improvement. We will be back to try other dishes. read more

It was our first time there, and both my husband and I opted for the 'dry noodle' seafood special, I got the egg and he went for the rice noodle. Our daughter wanted some pho, and I was delighted to find that they had a 'kids' portion though I didn't see it listed on the menu. I also love that they truly use fresh ingredients, which can't be said about many places out there. The staff were, so, so friendly. Service was fast, and we all really enjoyed the food. My fiancé and I have been here plentiful times, and they never disappoint!! The restaurant is always very clean and orderly, (back before mid March) everyone was seated in a timely manner and served. During the pandemic, like everywhere is it's take out or delivery only, so we got take out. I didn't inspect the contents until after we got back into our car when I noticed that they had made my order wrong. According to doordash, they have an item known S 'egg noodle wonton dry' that is supposed to be over a sauce not a soup like the soup version of this fish. However, when I called in and ordered that, they gave me the same dish but with soup. (They told me that if I order wonton in anything, they will think that I'm ordering soup.) I came here for a work function Sunday night (yes, the organizer was a huge fan of this Vietnamese restaurant). We were in the backroom, and although I didn't know about the getting service soon enough since I was super hungry the wait was well worth the wait. I was really impressed with the menu. They offer a huge variety of Vietnamese fare as well as some maybe Thai food as well like curry. I went with Vietnamese and chose the Seafood Combo soup with clear noodle which is what I typically order at my favorite Vietnamese place in SJ. I paid a little more at LeQuy for my seafood combo, but there were HUGE difference in ingredients. They post up that they don't use MSG and which items are gluten-free. I chose this option for it being gluten-free possible (with clear noodles which I LOVE). I've been to TONS of Vietnamese places, so I know what kind of commitment it takes to keep it MSG-free. That means they're limited to certain ingredients. So if you're looking for that salty taste, this place isn't for you. Anyhow, after the delight of finding better ingredients here, I was excited to try out their gluten-free chicken wings. They're fried, of course, but they're not battered. They were sooooo good. I wish I had a bigger appetite to finish the entire thing. I shared with my colleagues. Now let me get back to the Seafood Combo soup with clear noodles. One big thing that I couldn't believe that they served with Chilean seabass with my soup. This is highly unusual and a more expensive fish... but it's my absolute favorite. The menu stated Chilean seabass OR salmon, and I forgot to ask which one they'll include. Fortunately for me, they included the seabass (not just any but Chilean which has a more buttery, chewy texture compared to other flaky white seabass). The filet was about my palm size (pretty big portion). The soup also came with calamari and shrimp. The only thing missing was crab which was stated in the menu. But I was distracted by the seabass so I didn't complain and didn't even want to because it was so worth it. I hope they keep using Chilean seabass for fans like me. I didn't try drinks or desserts, but I want to come back here with my family that I'm trying my hardest to keep healthy. I'd like to think that pho lunch/dinner isn't a sacrifice to our health. Owner/cook/something must have changed during Covid as this is the second time that their veggie pho is inedible. This time the broth was saltier than sea water (all 3 of them). I ended up throwing the broth away and eating it with a supermarket broth. I'm done with this place. read more
