The best rating I could give a restaurant is to say I will return for another meal. I definitely will go back to Le's deli and bakery! My friend and I shared two sandwiches. One catfish and one shrimp poboy. Having grown up in New Orleans I have had some experience with both. I know that there's a French connection with both Vietnam and New Orleans and I know many Vietnamese refugees settled near New Orleans, so not surprising both make similar great sandwiches. My only complaint is truly nitpicking. Gulf shrimp have a lot more flavor than what we usually get here. And catfish is not a strong taste. So, compared with New Orleans po'boys, there wasn't quite enough contrast between the shrimp and the catfish with the rest of the sandwich, in an ideal sense. We kind of overcame this by adding some sriracha sauce. This said don't hesitate to go to Le's and try any of their sandwiches. Actually their whole selection of bakery items, both sweet and savory, looked delicious. The environment is high class and the gentleman behind the counter is a good ambassador for the place. Entered the business and it was very welcoming with very friendly staff. I ordered the pork Banh Mi and a hazelnut iced macchiato and it was great! The coffee was very creamy and not too sweet, which I love. The sandwich tasted very fresh and delicious. I remember this place being good about a year ago so we ordered delivery last night. There seems to be a disconnect with the menu and the chownow service. For example, it listed my entree as pork vermicelli with an egg roll but then the site asked if I wanted to add an egg roll. It didn't come with one. My husband had the combo listed with 3 types of meat but the site asked which type of meat he wanted. The quality of the grilled pork was a disappointment. It was pork belly and had the consistency of undercooked bacon....Soggy and greasy, and not the delicious crispy grilled pork I remember. Unappetizing to say the least. The peanut sauce that came with our fresh rolls tasted "off". My entree didn't come with the listed egg roll. I want to like this place (it's close by, they deliver) but after last night we probably won't order from them again. read more

It's great to see a bakery next to the light rail. It's convenient! We walked in to get a quick late lunch sandwich and thought this place seems good based on the reviews on Yelp. NOPE. Do not get here if you want to get sick in a pandemic. We ordered a banh mi. The cashier guy had his mask on and we thought ok cool it's safe. After we paid, I saw him walked away taking HIS MASK OFF while fixing up the place. Also we noticed a lady in the back preparing boxes of rice with no mask on or gloves. Another lady who prepared our banh mi didn't wear a mask or any safety gear either. Lastly the guy who was our cashier handed the banh mi without putting his mask back on. We felt like a sandwich was wasted and didn't eat it. We take the pandemic and safety measures very seriously. Obviously they don't take it seriously. At this rate they might even get sick too if they're not going to continue implement safety gear. I really wanted to suppose this small business, I really did. Stopped in here on my way to catch the train at Othello station (mainly to use the restroom) and was surprised by how tasty the food I grabbed was. I ordered a honey milk tea with boba and a grilled pork banh mi. The milk tea is delicious! The honey isn't overpowering and the black tea base tastes good quality. The boba (which isn't sweet like most boba, darn!) was also soaked for an adequate amount of time so that it's nice and jello-ey. Some might even say overcooked haha, but I enjoy it. Let me also say that it's VERY sweet which is perfect for me. The banh mi was also pretty good and they accomplished the basics of this sandwich just fine. I cannot wait until the next time I can visit this place again and actually eat a meal (lol). I pass by this place all the time on the way to church. I've been inside a total of two times - once, I was just trying to see if I can get a quick snack but ended up not getting anything and the second time, my sis and I just got two mini cannolis (which were not bad). But if anything, I love how friendly the staff are! Sure, they may be distracted at times, but once they see you they focus their attention on you with a big smile. They greet you when you come in, they greet you when you leave the store. It just makes me want to keep coming back lol. For me, so far, the only downside is that the place is pretty warm; especially nowadays the weather can be so hot outside, you'd kinda want to be in a place that has aircon. But that won't get in the way of ordering food. From the looks of it, a lot of people like to come in for To-go orders, so I'm almost positive the food will be just as great (I'll follow up with an updated review lol). The place is pretty spacious and really neat and relaxing; the lights are dimmed in a way that really is like a cafe - a place you could spend hours studying in, and then order a meal when you get hungry. I really enjoy the noodle bowls from here. I've tried the house special noodle and the one with just pork. I prefer the one with just pork. My only complaint so far is that last time they forgot to put my egg roll in there, but mistakes happen. The noodle bowls are very fresh and flavorful. The veggies are always green and crisp. The meat is saucy but not greasy. I like to add sriracha to mine but that's just personal preference. I also love their pork patiso which is a puff pastry filled with meat of your choice. As someone who frequently works from cafe's and coffee shops, Le's is a good change of scenery. There is WiFi, but are only two or three power outlets. However, the place is never super busy, so you'll be able to snag one before your laptop dies. The owner/manager is really friendly. Their food (pork bun, pork banh mi, curry) is good and consistent, but over priced. $7/$8 for a banh mi is $3/$4 more than it should be in my opinion. I got the tofu noodles. I was impressed how fresh everything was- even on this holiday weekend when I imagine their delivery schedule is different than usual. It was a plentiful amount and YUMMY! I don't normally like tofu, but this was cooked nicely and the flavor soaked into it- other places they just grill it quickly and it tastes really bland. The staff was really nice. Asked me how my drink was while I was waiting for my food and they were generally very pleasant. In addition to Vietnamese sandwiches, noodles and rice, they also serve caffe vita espresso drinks, bubble tea, pastries and snack items. I liked the mix of options- some cafe classics as well as what looked like some Vietnamese options that I hadn't seen before. It took me a minute to figure it all out, but all of the options looked good! I'm looking forward to going back and trying out more stuff. Have been looking forward to this deli & bakery since I first saw it's sign go up several months ago. I went with my husband on a Sunday morning. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The place was clean and spacious with plenty of seating. I really liked the ambiance and can see myself spending time here both for leisure and for getting work done. I had the coconut croissant and mango green tea crema. The coconut crossaint was deliciously flaky and buttery with a nice toasted coconut flavor. The coconut flavor wasn't too overwhelming, nor was the pastry itself too sweet or greasy. I really enjoyed the croissant and look forward to trying some of the other croissant flavors during future visits. The mango green tea crema had a sweet mango flavor with a nice touch of cream. I couldn't really taste any green tea, but I really liked the drink overall. My husband had a double Americano (which I tried and found to be very strong) and some eggroll-type pastry (I didn't get to try it and can't remember what the filling was made out of. I called a day ahead to check if they offer Durian Macaroons both in English and Vietnamese. The lady on the phone told me they have it and they make extra for Mother's Day, so I don't need to worry about reserving two dozens. If you're going to make me pay more than $3.75 for a banh mi, it better be amazing (aka you gotta be better than Banh Mi Che Cali, wussss good so cal). I think the average banh mi here is $7, helllll nah. This place isn't too bad but it also doesn't blow me away. It's right by my work so it's pretty convenient if I want clean, quick, average Vietnamese food. But honestly, I'd rather go up the street or ID to get better quality Vietnamese food. Positives: Not super slow. Tasty, hits the average mark. Areas of improvement: The gentleman working the register that day drove me nuts. He was on his phone, super slow, probably could help tidy up the place more instead of being on his phone. I noticed the lady in the back told him to pack my food. He's also very lazy and rude. For the quality of the food, the prices are...pretty pricey. All food isn't made fresh and I feel like the prices make it seem like they should be. I'm pretty unimpressed by most banh mi sandwiches. Most are dry and not just okay. When I tell you this sandwich will melt in your mouth and have great flavor I am not lying. Best banh mi I've had in a long time!!! I tried the pork, chicken, and shrimp po boy. All delicious!! The pork and chicken were really juicy and flavorful. Shrimp po boy was also flavorful. The bread is perfectly fluffy and crispy. I moved to the Seattle area from Portland Oregon about 5 years ago and this is the first banh mi deli/bakery that has lived up to my expectations and more!! Noodles and broth are good, but the meat is really excellent (tried the brisket and round). They do a good job of packaging for takeout as well. They cover the bases for something sweet, something savory, a pocket snack, or a whole meal. It's a large area with plenty of seating, I've seen them handle group meetings with plenty of room to spare for other customers. They have a large menu of coffee drinks and milk teas. They have pastries of the sweet and savory variety, including some seriously delicious savory chicken meat pies with the flakiest crust. They serve banh mi and I highly suggest trying the catfish. The also have pho and noodle dishes. They have gluten free desserts. They also sell their day olds for a ridiculously low price. I love their raspberry bars. The people who work here are really nice. It's a little pricier than other places nearby which is my only minor minor gripe. This is a definite local fave for me. read more
