    Enzo cake, yum
    Caterina B.

I decided to get the Enzo (Dubai chocolate kind) cake for my birthday, and I was so happy with my decision! I have rarely ever finished a birthday cake so fast, and with so much joy! I will be getting more cakes from Lilou! The lady is super kind, very responsive, and the cake is so worthy, plus it comes very elegantly presented. I am usually hesitant to order cakes, as I usually prefer to bake my own, but this one "takes the cake " I can't wait to order again from Lilou!

    Beautiful packaging

Overall, a very good experience with a home-based bakery. I would give it 4.5/5!!! Service and communication from beginning to end was fantastic - friendly and responsive. Kudos for this "amateur" bakers (as they call themselves) for putting their goodies out there for others to try. I think it's a wonderful idea. Their cakes are definitely unique and have not been seen anywhere else. It's always nice to try something unique and support local, private businesses. My partner and I decided to try their cakes in celebration for the New Years. Love the packaging - very professional-like! 1. Pistachio Brooklyn Cheesecake (5/5) This is a seasonal cake that we had the opportunity to indulge in. It's rich (from the pistachio butter) and creamy, but not overly sweet. They were extremely generous with the pistachios that were packed on top of the cake. The cheesecake itself was smooth and airy. The crispy kadaifi (shredded phyllo dough) were like crunchy fireworks in the mouth. 2. The Hobie Coffee cake (3/5) This came was unique to say the least. I love the coffee flavor and that it's light/airy, but overall, it felt more like eating a wafer than a cake. It's mostly dry cake crumbs and crunchy hazelnut meringue. Love the touch of coffee beans on top! 3. The Enzo Cake (3.5/5) This was the most aesthetically pleasing of the 4 cakes we got. It's their version of a decadent chocolate cake topped with a pistachio butter filling and crispy toasted kadaifi (shredded phyllo dough), finished with a layer of crackable chocolate disk Overall, this cake was chocolatey and crunchy, but yet sweet and sticky. We felt it was bit too complicated with too many flavors going on. The salted pistachio toffee on top was a nice touch! And breaking that chocolate disc was fun. 4. The Charlie Cake (5/5) If you're a chocolate lover, I recommend this over the Enzo. This is just a river of chocolate goodness. Once you crack that chocolate disc, the inside is flowing with rich, decadent, fudgy Belgian chocolate. The chocolate was not too sweet and it had a good velvety texture to it. Very moist as well. What an experience that our taste buds had!

The cake was a hit! Perfectly balanced sweetness, rich and decadent chocolate, pistachios and an incredibly smooth, velvety texture -- every bite felt indulgent and elegant. This will surely be a staple in every special occasion!

I moved out of LA this past May, but still come back periodically for work so this time I am in town I went back to Lilou and it was still just as amazing! Love your desserts they're so yummy, seriously haven't found anywhere that compares.

I ordered the Enzo 3 inch cake and picked it up within the hour. It was the perfect amount for a sweet treat. I ate mine with some strawberries and vanilla ice cream. Highly recommend!

A bit skeptical at first, but totally well worth it. Owner was communicative and super accommodating for pick up. Texted me the day before and day of to confirm. I actually ubered from the airport just to pick these up! The cake itself was moist, decadent, and delicious. Both the Enzo and Charlie are a chocolate lovers dream. The toasted kadaifi made all the difference in the Enzo. Can't say I've had anything like it before. The cakes are pretty pricey, but bound to be a hit for any special occasion. Highly recommend if you can plan in advance!

Dang Lilou just made my mouth explode with excitement! My sil sisters told me about this spot and how delicious the cakes are. So my fatass placed an order the same night with a morning pickup the next day. Customer service was excellent, even though I messaged late in the wee hours, they still answered me lol. At first I thought "hmm a little pricey" but after tasting them, these cakes are priceless!! My favorite is the ube, the chocolate is hella rich. Cakes aren't too sweet and the perfect consistency. My only regret is not getting a large Ube. Show some love to this minority woman owned business and place your order today!!!

    Enzo and cody cakes

I've had this bookmarked forever but finally got to try it! I couldn't believe I was able to order same day, and actually pick up in less than an hour! I ordered the Cody Cake and the Enzo cake. They were crazy good! The Cody Cake was rich without it being too sweet, and if you're a matcha fan you'd appreciate that you can actually taste the matcha without it being bitter! Great balance. My friends and I also loved the crunch of the Enzo cake. It was indulgent but in all the best ways. I loved the variety of textures in this! It was super easy to order (I messaged on Yelp and was directed to her website). Loved the quick service!

    OMG chocolate lovers?

This is Dangerously delicious...... seriously! Not only the best cake I've had in my life but they're so sweet ! The reason I initially chose this bakery is because of their amazing hours! Very convenient.....

The Enzo "Dubai Chocolate Cake". THE BEST!!!

Amazing product! So far we have tried The Enzo. Dubai chocolate cake rendition!! Every single guest who tried it at the party just fell in love with it. Everyone asked about it! Definitely will order this again and maybe even try their other cakes. You cannot go wrong! Perfect blend of pistachio cream, moist chocolate cake, and the crispy crisps!! Damn so good!!! Perfectly made! Please keep up that high-quality stuff you guys make!! They are prompt. Easy to communicate with. I ordered through their website and picked it up a few hours later. Pulled up to their business address, texted, and waited 5 mins later and they hand delivered it to me in my car. And off we went.Easy transaction! You will not go wrong with this folks!! Oh and yes, eat "The Enzo" at room temperature. You're welcome! Bomb product!!!!

Mochi Twist ($5)-- Nice and dense mochi texture? I guess it's hard to describe but it's not hollow and airy like a typical donut. There's some chew to it. And it's not too sweet! Blueberry Roti ($4)-- Flaky crumble on top and blueberry jam?? YES YESSSS. I liked this so much I'd definitely go back for it. Blueberry jam is so underrated and it's rare to find it in a pastry! Makes for a good sweet lil treat. Hot latte ($5)-- Perfect!! No complaints. Not too milky, not too light. Good ratio. I was actually kind of worried ordering a latte because not every place does it right but it's good here! Iced blueberry matcha ($6?)-- I see lots of good things about this drink on here but ooooooof... it missed the mark and by a LOOOT too. It was green sweet cereal milk. Where's the matcha? Where's the blueberry? It was so confusing because I see the green and I know I ordered matcha... but it's just sweet milk! And it's not even blueberry flavored milk. Did they forget the blueberry jam? Syrup? Whatever they use? Because it just tastes like the milk after a bowl of Frosted Flakes or something like that. Very sad, very disappointing. Ended up tossing after a couple sips. ANDDD for those matcha purists this is NOOOT the place for you! They have it pre mixed in a milk gallon. So we just saw green milk coming out of a gallon into this cup like yeppppp ok expectations immediately lowered. Anyways, hot latte is good and the 2 pastries I got were good! Steer clear of the matcha!!!

It's relatively busy but the line moved swiftly. The Larchmont store was pretty lively with the crowded and colorful wall deco! It's pretty fun to see that they came up with more seasonal items lately and most of them nailed it well when they came to cookies. Previously the lemon one and the most recent was the Raspberry Pistachio which I was impressed by as I just fancied sweet and refreshing combo of white chocolate and raspberry. The pistachio added more texture to it for sure. Same as any Levain cookies, best enjoyed warm and fresh out of oven. The Cookie Milk Latte was actually the main reason bringing me here, yet I was bit let down by it as I was expecting more malty cookie flavor in the drink. I felt it tasted not much different to regular cream top latte with some cookie crumbles in it.

The pastries were fantastic, gooey, flaky, fresh, authentic and house made. I would love to visit again if I was in LA. I got a variety I split with my brother and enjoyed them. Our favs were probably the Passionfruit or the Elderflower Rubarb. If you have never had fresh, non industrial/store-bought croissants these are going to rock your world. I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off. I'm not going to pay for food that skims on ingredients and shortchanges customers by charging more for less, so this will be my last visit.
