I really wanted to like this place. I mean, if you're going in for their coffee and cake pops then sure, but I came here for the cake. I mean, it IS a "bakery", non? This ain't lily's coffee. Anyway. For $80 I was expecting something better. I expected the chocolate to taste like chocolate. It's a more bitter, less rich cocoa. The breading for the cake isn't as fluffy or soft or moist as I would expect in a cake. The beignets were okay. They gave me a dozen on the house after I paid for the cake upon order 2 days before pick up. Service is what you'd expect from a Vietnamese bakery. Wouldn't come here again. Maybe for coffee, but I'm not that inclined to go out of my way just for that. I'd look elsewhere for better cake, honestly. read more

I always see people getting beignets from Disneyland, but your girl is living on a budget, so I had to find an alternative. Came across on yelp and I thought I'd give it a try. I bought the original and couldn't wait, so I tried it in the car while it was still warm. After the first bite, I was hooked and devoured like 2 or 3 of them. It probably helped that they were still warm too. I actually don't know what these are supposed to taste like, but I thought they were soft and delicious. My bf said they reminded him of the chinese donut - you tiao, which I didn't mind since I love those too. So the macaroons look super cute but they were literally stale it feels like you're eating rocks and they taste gross. The beignets had 0 powdered sugar and it was weird didn't even taste like beignets. Not very good but the service was alright- pretty sure they pocketed our money though because the beignets were 9.50 and in total it was 23 meaning the trash macaroons were 13.50. They go above and beyond here for customer service. I came here to pick up a cake for my mom's birthday. I came here because I saw they had a pandan cake but when I walked in, they only had one left in a design that seemed too young for my mom. The cake was a beach/mermaid design and my mom was turning 49, not exactly the most age appropriate. I asked if there was something that could be done to make it a bit more appropriate for my mom. The lady at the counter offered to add a flower on top and to take off the sea shells. I was happy with that and thanked them. They asked me to wait 5 minutes so I sat down to wait. The lady from the counter brought me a beignet to snack on while I wait-how sweet!! The lady from the counter then came back and said that the baker in the back will just assemble a new cake for me since they had everything they needed already to make the cake. I was so touched by their kindness! They made me a new cake in the pandan flavor that I had driven out for and they decorated it beautifully for my mother. The cake was a hit at dinner! My mom was blown away by how beautiful the cake was and then happily surprised by the pandan flavoring and little slices of jello in it. We also shared the cake with some of the restaurant staff and they chased us down on our way out to ask about where we got the cake and asked to take a picture of the name and address of the bakery. Overall, the cake was beautiful and tasted great. The service was impeccable. And the ambiance of the bakery itself makes you feel like you're in a cute little French cafe. Absolutely love the beignets here! I usually grab a box for my family and get the sauce on the side. They are perfectly sweet with just the right amount of powdered sugar, and we always finish them too fast. I came here on a Saturday morning to try out their beignets and Vietnamese Iced Coffee. The shop is located at the corner of a plaza, with seating outside of the entrance. There were lots of people there in the morning many of whom were smoking, so I didn't stick around and had to leave as soon as I got my food since the smoke made me very uncomfortable. From a price point perspective the beignets are super affordable with 4 for $2.75. But as far as taste and texture, the beignets were very disappointing. Not sure if it was just because I didn't get to try a fresh batch, but they were not fluffy or soft but instead cold, hard, and crispy. There was also barely any powdered sugar coating. Last year my sister bought some beignets from here to share. Loved it. This time we went ourselves. We got Vietnamese coffee and 4 piece beignet. If possible maybe ask for it fresh, when we ordered there was half a dozen in the hot window. The cashier started to grab it after we ordered but another associate said they'd make it fresh. We greatly appreciated that. It was crisp and so worth the burn. Lol. I would just be very careful when eating it fresh because I got powdered sugar EVERYWHERE. These are by far my favorite beignets to get around here. I do really like the Disneyland ones but those are a lot thicker inside which makes you get full off of 1/2 pcs. If you like a thinner type beignet this one is definitely delicious and you can eat way more! We got the 4 pc for 3.25 so extremely inexpensive as well! Its super tight inside as that's just the layout of the bakery. But lots of regulars like to sit outside and just relax and hangout. We had the Vietnamese ice coffee and the baguette. The Vietnamese coffee was delicious. Unlike other places, this one you can still taste the coffee. It is also not super strong. I also ordered the banh mi thit nuong and dac biet. The thit nuong meat was a different texture than what I was used to but still flavorful. Both sandwiches had plenty of meat. This isn't an establishment you would want to enjoy your food at, there are people sitting in the front and smoking. The ac wasn't on either and it was 100 degrees outside. I had a really nostalgic experience here the other day! I hadn't been here in around 20 years(since childhood), but I decided to stop in with my partner to get some sandwiches. My parents used to work at/frequent a salon next door years ago. Service at the bakery was excellent and the same person still works there helping guests. She even gave us some free beignets.
