We were invited to a birthday party here and we had never been but because of the way we were treated and how bad and overpriced the food was we will NEVER RETURN!!! First we were waiting in the crowded lobby and then were told to go into the party room and wait in there. Then the waitress starts asking us our drink orders and we ask her over and over again if they are included in the buffet price? She tells us yes, she is staring at us blankly so I ask her in Spanish and she says yes they are included. Now we are getting our food and it is typical Chinese food with some American food too. The sesame chicken was more crust than anything else, the steaks were chewy and the broccoli beef was hard to eat, the macaroni and cheese was just weird!!! I couldn't eat anymore and the buffet was 15.99!!! So we paid $34.00 for cheaply made food!!! This isn't even the worst part yet!! As we are paying the Manager tells us the drinks are EXTRA!!! What!!! We asked the waitress in two languages if they were included and she said yes!!! Now the manager is telling us she was wrong and that we had to pay for them. She calls over the waitress and asks her about it and she OPENLY LIES TO US to save her self!! We go back and forth for about five minutes and the manager does not charge us but we had to fight for what we were told. Then I here the waitress in Spanish tell her I thought if it was a party of seven or more the drinks were included, which we were!!! So, be careful when you go to this place!! This place is nice and clean with a good variety of Chinese and American cuisine! I often stay away from buffets because they always seem to have a 'smell' about them, however that isn't the case at Lin's! It's a fair price for a good variety of food! I recommend at least trying it out! read more

Went here on Sunday Nov. 4th and arrived about 11:30. Seating was quick and the buffet was stocked well. We started with the sushi bar and the sashimi seemed pretty good, more so than the sushi. Moved onto the rest and that was where it went downhill. I like to eat crab legs, steak, and ribs. The crab legs were on ice and when you opened them, salty unpleasant tasting water poured out. The steak looked good but was flavorless altogether. The ribs were 75% fat, don't even know where to get those. Brisket didn't resemble brisket. My wife and daughter tackled the buffet foods. Many items were left untouched as not worth eating. I tried to eat the orange chicken and a couple of other items and they were just over breaded or just awful. I never thought I would say this but the King Buffet seems excellent after this experience. The ice cream was eatable if you wait in line behind the kids. That evening my wife felt ill and that continued until the next day. My daughter also wasn't feeling too good. Needless to say this is a one and done. read more

Me personally I am not a big fan of buffets however went there for lunch today with my friends from work and I will say it was awesome. Service was very good the place was very clean and nice. Food was nothing special. Pho was luke warm and tasteless, meat in it was raw still. Entree's didn't have the wow factor that you expected after all the hype prior to the opening not to mention the price of lunch. I will stick to Kings Buffet on Bandera. read more

It was my boyfriend and I first time wait wasn't long at all, three minute wait. They had no pho for 20 minutes ,Pho was weak no flavor, the meat didn't have no labels you couldn't tell what you were getting. The Chinese food selection was great it was so good. Its as if Wok Inn started a buffet. It's that good. I tried most of the non spicy hot food. It was all delicious and full of flavor. The food did not taste watered-down. You can tell they are not taking short cuts and the food seems to be made with some love. I didn't try the grill. But desert ice cream was so good. I would say this is the best buffet in town because they have a wide variety of options while still having good quality tasting food.

Their Triple delight is pretty good and the thin noodles. I enjoyed the selection. Price is a bit steep.

Prices have gone up with no improvement in quality or quantity of food. Crab legs are limited to one measly plate per customer.

So I'm quite upset that when I called I was told it was $15.99/ lb that's not a buffet that is how a regular restaurant works... this mean not only do I have to be careful what I choose to eat but I also can't leave my plate to return to try something different. I have been wanting to eat here since it opened. Yesterday I pulled the trigger and went. The place is huge, well, the dining area anyway. The buffet is small. Not that many choices unless you like sushi. I do not like sushi. I was looking forward to a lot more traditional chinese food. I tried the steak, it was cooked to order and the best tasting food I ate there. I also tried some of the sausage. It must have been on the warmer for a long time. It was hard and over cooked. I also had some chinese food, I was looking forward to Kung Pao Chicken, they do not have it there. I can not remember what I had, jalapeno something, it was just ok. Kinda bland. I went for some cheesecake slices. Ugh, old and dry. Could only stomach one small bite. Pudding was just fine. I had water to drink, it was fine. They do not have sugar on the tables, I had to ask for some. Waitress brought more than enough. Even though the place is just over a year old the carpet was really nasty looking. Why do restaurants think carpet is a good idea? The staff was friendly and the waitresses were on top of things. I did not see a single one get on her phone. The price of admission is way too high, $14.99 just for the buffet, no drink. I will not be suggesting Lin's to anyone nor will I go there again. read more

Have been going to Lin's for a while now ,since it opened, as of lately food quality has gone down and now you pay $18 for the buffet and an additional $12 for crab legs . too expensive won't be going back especially when you can go to other buffets and get crab legs for free. Went this past Saturday with my family for my son's birthday. Our experience was great! We were greeted upon entering and had no problem getting a table for the 8 of us. Our waiter was kind and very attentive. We never had to ask for anything. He was always asking us if we needed anything. The food was great for a buffet. All food was fresh, hot and nothing seemed to run out as they were constantly refilling. The selection of food was awesome. Way more than I've seen on any other Chinese Buffet. Disgusting and not worth the price. I wouldn't even give it one star but I have to. I've never left a buffet hungry until I came here. All my kids could eat were the crackers. Management was yelling at one of the employees who I saw doing the most (and made a fantastic steak, by the way), and he was doing nothing but walking around micro-managing. I would give this a 3 and a half stars. They have a pho build-your-own soup station, which was okay. Other than that, everything else was average, the steak bar could have been better. My husband and I were so looking forward to trying Lin's after reading reviews. We were very disappointed with just about every aspect of our visit and will not be going back. First, shortly after we were seated, I could have sworn I felt a drop of water hit my right arm and head. I thought it was just me, and didn't say anything. Then I felt it again. I moved over in the booth after telling my husband, still not quite sure I was actually feeling water. Then I saw the drops hitting the booth seat right next to me. We looked up and it was liquid dripping from the air-conditioner on the ceiling! We told the waitress and she was not at all surprised and asked us if we wanted to move. Obviously we did. We never even heard an apology. As we sat at the other part of the restaurant, we saw another couple complaining about the same thing and pointing to the ceiling. This was not the same table we were originally at. The new waiter was saying that the staff knew about the issue and should not have seated people there - yet they kept doing so until finally they marked several tables as "unavailable". A simple apology would have been most appreciated, especially knowing that the health dept would likely have them closed until this was corrected as this could have been toxic liquid dripping in our food, plates and on our bodies. Their lack of concern was very shocking to us both. That aside, the best thing there by far was the shrimp (heads on which I removed). The ribs were also pretty good. The fried wonton (cheese rangoon) was also good. Everything else both my husband and I had was very bland and flavorless. The brisket was like rubber, the dim sum was really bad and the hot and sour soup was extremely oily. I don't eat sushi, but it did look as if it was presented quite well and it looked to be fresh. Too bad I am not into sushi, because it appeared to be likely the best items there. Even the jello tasted extremely sweet as if they did not mix the proper amount of water into it. Price was not the issue, it is what it is... however, quality is. We were not expecting the Ritz, nor are either of us picky eaters. Upon entering the restaurant, I was impressed by the decor. It looked very clean, and glancing over at the buffet area, it was apparent that a lot of thought had gone into the layout. HOWEVER, when we were seated back towards a corner area, I immediately noticed a cat urine smell coming from the carpet. Disgusting. Now onto the food. The only thing that was OK was the steamed fish and the teriyaki chicken, and even then, the teriyaki chicken was a bit on the dry side. We tried the mac and cheese (cold, flavorless and gooey), the General's chicken (sticky and almost all batter), the stir fried mushrooms (borderline rotten), the stir fried lo mein (badly burned), the sweet and sour chicken (super greasy and tasteless), and some various sushi rolls (not even quite as good as standard supermarket sushi rolls). My young son tried various "kid-friendly" food and the only thing he could stomach were the McDonald's-like chicken nuggets. He normally loves sweets, and even the vanilla pudding tasted a bit like toothpaste. We tried a few dessert items, including a tiramisu-type cake thing that tasted like it was made with cream that had already turned and gone bad. 95% of the food we all tried was like eating a plate of lukewarm garbage. I give this place a 1 star went in this afternoon to eat with my family and this place sucks! I usually stay away from buffets and I should have listened to my instinct. Payed 74 dollars for a hostess to seat us were everyone was sitting and trying to cram us all in to this small table, I said look I want a booth I'm paying 74 dollars I better eat comfortable and good, she did put us in a booth, well 74 dollars was a lot for this dump the food was cold the flavor overall what I had gotten and my family had no taste everything lacked flavor. There is no wait list to sign up on, no defined lines for anything, and when you ask what is the wait time they tell you 35mins but can not tell you for sure. So it has several items to choose from, their Pho was kinda lame, various sushi with no names to it, minimal fruit options, for my 2.5 yr old the drink options were water or powerade. Yes there was sodas, but who gives toddlers sodas??? They need some orange/apple juice options and/or milk. I had my toddler son with me, I asked the waiter for two large Dr. Peppers and a water for my son. I got a large water and Dr. Pepper and a small Dr. Pepper for my son. I guess the waiting staff doesn't really pay attention to the drink requests or it was a simple mistake. You can decide on your own if it happens to you as well. Various seafood options from lobster and crab to salmon and jalapeño octopus. I'd say the price was fair for the options they had. Just disappointed on the drinks options. Senior/Active Military/Retired Military all get 10% off. I didn't realize that til after I paid. Because the sign was behind me on the wall of I'm facing the cash register.
