    The big buffet
    Teresa B.

If you're craving some Chinese fare but the kids are begging for pizza and chicken tenders, the Lin's International Buffet is the place to go. This extensive buffet checks all the boxes for Asian and American comfort food. The food is fresh, including the fish and sushi and the restaurant is clean overall. On our visit we checked in and pre-paid at the front desk. I'm nice paid we were seated and the wait staff stopped by our table to get our drink orders. We had hot tea and water. I had a sampling of egg drop soup, beef broccoli, egg roll, cheese wonton, triple delight, jalapeño chicken, pepper steak, fried rice, and a bbq rib. The soup was excellent and of the Chinese dishes I enjoyed the jalapeño chicken and pepper steak the best. Overall it was a good experience. It wasn't the best Chinese food in town but it was good for a buffet and easy on the pocket book. When we arrived around 6pm on a Friday night it wasn't too busy but by the time we finished up the place was packed. So go early if you can.

The teriyaki chicken and bourbon chicken were good

Stopped by today for lunch. Three is appropriate. Not good but not bad. The fried fish was surprisingly good. The bourbon and teriyaki chicken were above average. The one thing that bothered us was the fried rice. It was not very good. It was bland, and not what you would expect from a Chinese buffet. It's hard to mess that up. The ribs were not that great either. We would probably not come here again because of the price. If it was cheaper we would.

I like the huge variety of foods to choose from! I personally love the brisket, sausage, sweet and sour chicken, and beef and broccoli! Service is always very good and this place is always packed! We love that they offer military discount too! This is our 3rd time here and enjoy it! The apple pie cobbler was delicious with the ice cream!

We've only been here a handful of times, but it is one of our favorites, especially when we want Chinese food. The price isn't bad when you consider the variety of food available. Since it's a buffet, you pay ahead of time so my only complaint about this place is that when you pay with card, you have to tip before you've even been seated. We've never had an issue with service, but as a couple who have both worked in the service industry, we like to tip extra for the servers who are attentive and friendly. The food assortment is incredible- I've never been to such a diverse buffet where all the food is good. Usually a few of the dishes are lackluster, but not here! Their sushi assortment is huge and really delicious, and there is a huge selection of Chinese food including 3-4 types of soups, cream cheese rangoons (SO GOOD!), egg rolls, fried rice, lo mein, rice noodles, various types of chicken dishes, a couple beef dishes, and a few seafood dishes. They also offer seafood, steak, pho, pizza, and salads. Their dessert bar is extensive and includes jello, pudding, assorted bars/ cakes, cheesecake, and ice cream- though we never have room for dessert!

Kin's Buffet is very clean and updated. They offer hand sanitizer but I wish they also had plastic gloves for people using the buffet. The food seems to be decent quality but for me personally has no flavor. Everything tastes exactly the same ....bland. I even tried spicy General Tso chicken to see if it had a kick. It did not. I did not try the hibachi. Perhaps you can request more seasoning on the prepared to order items. However at nearly $40 with tip for two dinner buffets it was extremely unsatisfying. My teen loves buffets so I was glad it was clean and staff was friendly, but I cannot recommend.

    Good food and good friends...

A big variety of food. Desserts, vegetables, fruit, seafood, Chinese food, chicken, salads, it's a buffet. Staff is busy cleaning up and serving drinks.

I did a weekend lunch outing after my workout. The buffet was nice, clean and not crowded (12:15pm). I was seated immediately after I paid. No wait. Price was reasonable. I will admit the Food was not bad. The pans were never empty & food was hot & fresh. I only ate food I recognized. I did however tried kimchi for the first time because I love cabbage. Ehhh, however didn't like kimchi. Sushi section had a huge variety if you like sushi. Well stocked & impressive. The staff were friendly and would refill your drink & remove plates from table as you head for 2nd & 3rds! I need to find out what day they have crab legs. It will be then that I return.

No reservation is needed. Highly recommend to go once they open to beat the crowd.

Is the buffet back open? No one picks up the phone.

    Yea

    Do they serve Alcohol?

I don't think that they do serve alcohol. I haven't seen it.

Anyone know where I can find the prices?

Look in the pictures and you'll find the sign with all the pricing but a quick answer is $10.49 lunch/$12.99 dinner mon-fri and $14.99 all day weekends. The photo will have the kids rates and discounts available as well as to go pricing if you need…

It's a little expensive, even for a weekend. You would expect more and better choices for the prices we paid. About $80 for two adults and a midget. They had your typical fare. The least favs-ribs(tough/dry and no flavor), steak(tough and under seasoned), steam buns(the filling just no), bourbon chicken(dry chicken and not enough sauce), and the consensus least fav were all the desserts. There was flying bugs, and everything was super dry and tasted old. I get it, what do expect for a Chinese buffet in San Antonio? Well I expect no flying insects in the desserts for the price I paid. Also, 75 % of the fruit we got was as tough as the steak. Oh, and the cold shrimp, either overcooked or thawed the wrong way. The shell was practically glued on. The positives-all the rice and noodle dishes were good to ok. The hot and sour soup was really good! The teriyaki chicken was actually good. The bigger sauced rib was good. The kimchi was some of the better we've had recently. The spring rolls with peanut were good. The two fish dishes we had(fried and not fried) were actually quite nice. All the breads were good. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Almost forgot, the bathrooms were kinda gross. They need to be kept clean. Will not come back again.

The buffet options are good, but their general tso's chicken is not the best (and I judge how good overall Chinese buffets on this lol). A surprise hit is the sautéed green beans, which are perfectly cooked and garlicky--just like how you'd find it traditionally cooked in Chinese cuisine. I also think they're deep fried (salt and pepper?) shrimp (next to the crawfish) is very delicious. Plates are cleared pretty quickly and the buffet space is kept orderly and decently clean.

Sushi was decent and they had a pretty large menu to select from. $30.99 for all you can eat dinner isn't a bad deal at all especially with this economy. Just you, the menu, and a quiet understanding that nobody is leaving early. Brought Jimmy "The Hammer" along for this one. A dangerous man in this setting. His only complaint before we even sat down was that it wasn't all you can drink. Fair concern. Thirty dollars for the dinner menu. Fair play. That is about standard across the city. The real question is whether you can actually make it worth it. I started strong. Ten salmon nigiri. Ten tuna. Four shrimp. A couple white tuna. A couple yellowtail. Across the table, Jimmy didn't say much. Just kept eating. That's usually how you know things are going well. At some point it stops feeling like dinner and starts feeling like a bit of a challenge. You settle into it. Find your rhythm. No wasted movement. Then came the rainbow rolls. Two of them. Always my test. You can tell everything you need to know about a sushi spot from that one roll. Balance, freshness, attention to detail. This one delivered. Clean, refreshing, exactly what you want. Added some chicken skewers for good measure. Bit of char, bit of heat, keeps things grounded. Place was packed. Not chaotic, just busy in the right way. Staff stayed on top of it. Plates moving, orders landing, no one left waiting. By the end of it, I leaned back and took stock. Full. Satisfied. No regrets. Five stars.

It is advertised as family karaoke. The bar has a sign stating that there are no minors after 9pm allowed. The families all seem to know each other. It is almost cult-like. A lot of the kids sang and it was cute. By 9:15pm, all the kids and their families were gone. About six of our adults were left. Mondo bizarro. I got to sing four songs so I'm not complaining.
