Great location, good parking, clean, perfect cheesesteak place and a very accommodating owner. We went straight in on standard Philly Cheesesteaks, and gotta say - they were stellar. In fact, I liked the Cheesesteak here better than the one at Delco's, which is rated as one of the very best in the Tampa area. Let's remember, we're in St. Petersburg, FL... It wasn't the best I've had, but also not the worst. The meal did its job... satisfied my hunger. Very simple and straight to the point Phillies. You select your cheese of choice. Make it a platter for $2 more. I will say the word "platter" is deceptive as it's only a small side of bland fries. Drinks are sold separately. They offer sodas and beers. Awesome customer service despite the lackluster in food. I like the interior diner style decor. There's indoor/outdoor seating. My first review of the year...Saturday, Jan. 4 Had some free time and went out for a drive, needed to take care of a few errands. It was closing in on one o'clock and I was getting a bit hungry, needed to go somewhere new for my first review of the year. Had been downtown a few months back and saw this place. I went in and talk to someone behind the counter, she was bragging up the place. Said to myself I need to try it. I had great expectations for this place because it is close. But I have to agree with Danny J. from Denver and Patrick S. from St. Pete. It is an odd manner which to place order. Don't mind placing it at the register if someone is there. I was not aware I needed to ring the bell to get someones attention, that's okay too. I placed my order, 9" cheese steak w/fried onions...provolone cheese, fries. They call it the platter. And the highlight of the meal was the Hank's Root beer. I grew up about two beers from the Spectrum parking lot so I know a little bit about cheese steaks. What Danny J. said "they don't incorporate the cheese and the meat together they put the cheese inside the bun and then put the meat on top." And that is how mine was made which also made the sandwich a bit dry. What Patrick said, "But when I tell you it was salty -- It was salty! WAY TOO SALTY." Mine too was a bit salty but I thought that was because I biting into a thick piece of provolone. The fries weren't bad but the star was Hank's Root Beer. I've probably driven past this place a million times and told myself I was going to on in and try a Philly. Well today was that day! I bought a large fry and South Philly. First off, the fries were AMAZING. Reminded me of McDonald's fries but crispier. The roll the Philly came out was super soft and fresh and the roll was loaded with provolone which I loved. I was really in the mood for a Philly cheesesteak. I remember I heard a rumor about a new sub shop in town... but I had to Google it to remember the name and find out where it was. Let me introduce you to Little Philly on Central Avenue. So I'll start out with the good first... It's a very cute restaurant. The fact the restaurant barely has a front door and is open to the street, I was pleasantly surprised how clean and inviting the restaurant was. It even has a nice restroom. The service is a little odd with only a single register in the back corner. There are chairs you can sit both outside and in the front of the restaurant... But there's absolutely no table service. You have to order from the small iPad. Now for the bad... The food. Was it bad... No. Was it good... Not really. First of all, the menu is a little confusing. I just wanted a Philly cheesesteak. It's hard to even figure out what a regular Philly cheesesteak is with all the other weird names and odd descriptions on the menu. I think I picked the right one... But when I tell you it was salty -- It was salty! WAY TOO SALTY. I know flavor equals salt... But, this was like dumping a salt packet in your mouth. Not enjoyable. I stopped in on a Thursday night for takeout and I'm impressed! I got the Philly cheesesteak with Wiz, onions, and mushrooms and a side of fries. It was packaged neatly, the sandwich didn't explode when I unwrapped it, and the fries were in a little box so they didn't get crushed. ***Update: Second visit to Little Philly did not disappoint. Ordered the classic Philly and the Chicken Cutlet Sandwich. Bread is very fresh as is the chicken and ribeye. Will be back. Word on the street is they are working on a late night menu for Tap House and passerbys for after hours. Just tried Little Philly for a good lunch spot. Great selection on the menu including Ribeye cheesesteaks, chicken (fresh) with various cheese choices. Loved the provolone, lettuce, tomato and grilled onions on my Chicken Cheese Philly. Let me start by stating that i own two restaurants. The order process was deftly taken care of by the charming cashier...regular Philly add hot peppers and mushrooms with a cup of chile...total $ about $22..not terrible.. But the owner was screaming at the cashier in the kitchen....did it twice more while the place was full of guests. The cashier left for ten minutes to regroup. No one should have to work in that environment...i hope that he loses all of his investment...terrible behaviour. read more

From walking in you're greeted by Mo with a giant smile while wearing a Kelce jersey (Go Birds). The bread is fresh and high quality. Finally got to try out Little Philly. I got a cheesesteak with wiz and fried onions. Somehow mayo got on there. The meat was a good quality but there was very little on the roll. The roll was ok but I'm not sure why people just don't use the Amoroso rolls Fountain drinks would be a good addition here as $3.25 for every bottle of iced tea I drink would be crazy. I felt the total was crazy expensive for a cheesesteak lunch. I was born and raised in DELCO (Philly) so I know my cheesesteaks well. I feel the non cash fee is really squeezing the customer over the already expensive sandwich. I'm going to give this place another try and I will update this review accordingly. Came here on a Monday and there were only a handful of people in the restaurant maybe four or five. Lots of different steaks to choose from, including chicken and mushroom! They even offer vegan cheese. Not as fast or as cheap of a lunch as you would expect from such a casual place. We waited for a good 10 minutes for our food, and we paid nearly $30 for two subs, and that was without fries or drinks (most of the drinks themselves are just sodas, but they charge $3.00-$4.00 for each one). The staff are very nice, and the ambiance is fun (they have a Pacman-Galaga machine!). So if you are in the mood for a Philly cheesesteak, this is a great place to go in St. Pete. read more
