I've probably driven past this place a million times and told myself I was going to on in and try a Philly. Well today was that day! I bought a large fry and South Philly. First off, the fries were AMAZING. Reminded me of McDonald's fries but crispier. The roll the Philly came out was super soft and fresh and the roll was loaded with provolone which I loved. I will definitely be coming back to try something else, maybe a burger?

**** Review 158 **** This place might be new to St. Pete, but the neighborhood has made it their own. The restaurant is small, but has some outside seating. The menu is extensive, and they have beer on tap. The staff is friendly, and service is fast. The cheesesteaks are long, with a good flavor. It could use a little more meat, but you can get fries for an additional $2. They do slice their own beef everyday, and make everything fresh.

The Violet Stone and Delco's Original are still the only places to go to in Tampa Bay if you want a Philly Cheesesteak. Little Philly is just that. Little bread, little meat, little toppings, not much food there. I tried the burger as well. Unfortunately, I can make better burgers from CostCo. The flavor was alright, but pretty plain and small once again. 3% charge for using credit card.

I was really in the mood for a Philly cheesesteak. I remember I heard a rumor about a new sub shop in town... but I had to Google it to remember the name and find out where it was. Let me introduce you to Little Philly on Central Avenue. So I'll start out with the good first... It's a very cute restaurant. The fact the restaurant barely has a front door and is open to the street, I was pleasantly surprised how clean and inviting the restaurant was. It even has a nice restroom. The service is a little odd with only a single register in the back corner. There are chairs you can sit both outside and in the front of the restaurant... But there's absolutely no table service. You have to order from the small iPad. Now for the bad... The food. Was it bad... No. Was it good... Not really. First of all, the menu is a little confusing. I just wanted a Philly cheesesteak. It's hard to even figure out what a regular Philly cheesesteak is with all the other weird names and odd descriptions on the menu. I think I picked the right one... But when I tell you it was salty -- It was salty! WAY TOO SALTY. I know flavor equals salt... But, this was like dumping a salt packet in your mouth. Not enjoyable. Maybe I got a salty batch of Philly cheesesteak... I'll give the restaurant another shot someday. But for now... I'd have to say skip it.

I stopped in on a Thursday night for takeout and I'm impressed! I got the Philly cheesesteak with Wiz, onions, and mushrooms and a side of fries. It was packaged neatly, the sandwich didn't explode when I unwrapped it, and the fries were in a little box so they didn't get crushed. The steak was all juicy and tender, no gristly bits which is awesome. Everything was delicious, I will definitely be going back!

***Update: Second visit to Little Philly did not disappoint. Ordered the classic Philly and the Chicken Cutlet Sandwich. Bread is very fresh as is the chicken and ribeye. Will be back. Word on the street is they are working on a late night menu for Tap House and passerbys for after hours. Just tried Little Philly for a good lunch spot. Great selection on the menu including Ribeye cheesesteaks, chicken (fresh) with various cheese choices. Loved the provolone, lettuce, tomato and grilled onions on my Chicken Cheese Philly. Hoagie rolls are super fresh - will definitely be back soon! **Only downside is the service was a little slow, but to be expected for the first month getting all the kinks out.**

I enjoyed the vibes. I got a Cheesesteak with peppers, mushrooms, and whiz. The cheesesteak was huge and stuffed full of meat. My friend got the chickencheese with a root beer and equally liked it. This will be my go to cheesesteak place for sure. Menu is extensive. Service was good and food came out relatively quickly.

Fries are amazing ...sandwich was good but not worth the amount of meat they give you for the price 1st pic is from Little Philly...Second, two pictures are from big Jim Tavern and tap... yes the meat is Ribeye! Same price plus the fries come with it!

I got the crispy duck wings (and do not know why I didn't take a picture ) but they were very crispy and very good. They came with 2 sauces, which I did not try because they said they were a bit spicy and I don't like spicy, but they were plenty good on their own. I ordered the One Bad Pig with a side of sweet potato fries and of course had to get an extra side of tator tots because I love them. The burger was very good and juice, hard to eat because it's so big, but I managed to do it. The tots were crispy just like I like them and the fries were your typical sweet potato fries but very good. The service was attentive and good and it seemed to be a local crowd and was a nice vibe. It is off the beaten path so not too touristy but the locals know about it so it gets crowded. I highly recommend this place for a burger if you are wanting one!!

**** Review 170 ****…read more This place has become a regular for me and it's all because of the wings. They are THE BEST wings in St. Pete hands down! Crispy, juicy, tender, saucy deliciousness. If you just want some of the best wings you've ever had then you need to stop by. But, wings is just one of the items that are great. Their burgers are second to none! So many options, with so many toppings. Burgers are HUGE, juicy, well seasoned. Everything from tenders to peanut butter on a burger....you have to try it! Hot dogs are good too, they're fried so you get a nice crisp snap with every bite. Their sides are always delicious and great beer selection. And everything is reasonably priced for being in St Pete. This place is narrow, but long with seating in the back for larger parties, so it can get crowded. Staff is always really nice and ready to give you recommendations. If you're looking for a great night of wings, burgers and beers with your friends then this is your place.

Not only that, but they have great fries! I always get the loaded fries which come with their caramelized onions and cheese sauce. Cue the droolingggg. It's hit or miss if there is going to be a long line but somehow my wife and I have always gotten lucky to get there juuust before everyone else. Service is always very friendly and efficient. As for ambiance, they can't really account for that since they are a food truck but Common Dialect has plenty of seating if you want to stay, have a beer, and eat your food. Well-versed on the menu and a very pleasant lady. It's certainly not a fancy place and it looks like it's been around for a while, but it's the kind of place where you might like to hang out at the bar. Everyone there seems to be friendly and you get that comfortable feeling. We had a variety of food items, some better than others but nothing below average. Really good salads, as you can see by the pictures, a nice job on the chicken wings, a BLT that was pretty tasty; the butternut squash soup was OK, pretty thick and not hot at all. One was returned to the kitchen to be heated up. There was a chicken dip that really didn't hit the spot, and the tortilla chips that came with it seem to be past their prime. As for the fried mushrooms. I found them pretty much ordinary. A nice surprise were the brussels sprouts with balsamic and goat cheese. Really really good. Overall, I would give the food about a 3 1/2 stars at the service five stars so what averages out around four stars. Like I said it looks like a nice place to hang around and have a couple of beverages and a little something to eat.

We love the food and beer at The Burg Bar & Grill west of downtown St. Pete FL!…read more We have previously enjoyed their well-made Chicago Dogs and craft beer. This time (Apr 2026) we started with a creamily delicious ice-cold nitro beer. It was Milk Bone stout, locally crafted, toffee-flavored and lightly sweet from lactose. Pinellas Ale Works says it's almost a cafe con leche :-). It looks like they serve a larger pour of nitro-Guinness, if you like. Y'know, small nitro bubbles (around 25% to 30% CO2) create a smooth mouth-feel and, to me, seem much easier to imbibe than most beers' carbonation (100% CO2). Many places don't put in the extra equipment to serve nitro beers, so Thank You to The Burg! Their eat-in special is different every weekday. On this Wednesday (Apr 2026), it was $2 off their Cuban. Thin tender flavorful ham, pork, and salami, lightly bite-y Swiss cheese, and bright tart pickles, with plain yellow mustard & mayo. All pressed into hot bread. Perfectly savory and delicious! Except ... It wasnt Cuban bread, or any crusty bread, it was a hoagie roll :-( The bread wasnt even toasted! Hey! Mostly-excellent Burg, This is Tampa Bay, home of Cuban sandwiches! Do it right! Dunno if it was just an off-day bread-wise? My nearly-perfect Burg, please tweak this one thing. Yet they still earned that 5th star with their freshly hand-made very good lightly-seasoned crispy crispy Burg chips. We live for crunch! And you can upgrade the side to black-beans and rice, so, yeah, on target :-) And they let us go slightly off-menu with a BLT, which on the menu is part of a soup and sandwich combo. Lots of hot thin crispy bacon, sweet fresh tomatoes and lettuce, on lightly toasted bread. Very satisfying. The Burg Bar & Grill is pleasantly relaxed with a nicer-than-divey feel. The staff is friendly, attentive, and quick with that cold cold beer! The food is only a Cuban-roll away from Perfect :-)
