We had requested if we can get a pot of plain water for the baby so that we can boil stuff without any sodium. She said sorry that will have to cost extra. But then I referred back to their ad that children under 3 eats free. And the whole explanation was yes but they could not have their own pot. She says this is just company policy and that it's not my decision. A few minutes later she came back and said I talked to management and they said it was ok for you to have a pot of plain water. After this, she doesn't come back to check in on us or ask for any refills on the soup and had to flag her down. Plates were slow to be cleared. Food - in the past we loved the fresh noodles here, but not anymore. Maybe it's due to less people, but the noodles are old and stay clumped up together. Everything else was pretty typical with the vegetables and the various types of fish balls. I don't think we will be returning here anytime soon. There are so many hot pot places to go to that are higher quality and better service. It's sad because they were once so popular, but I don't think they have adapted to the changing restaurant options in flushing.

I took half a bite, swallowed some, and immediately knew something was wrong. I had to spit out the rest. The unfreshness hit me faster than a New Yorker rushing for the subway. I spent the next hour praying I wouldn't get KO'd in the bathroom. Unfortunately, prayer was not answered. And this was my first meal of the day, so I'm pretty confident it wasn't anything else I ate beforehand. We tried to end lunch on a sweet note with the strawberry ice cream. Sadly, it tasted very artificial. At this point, I was just looking for something, ANYTHING, to redeem the meal. And the winner of the day was... The GREEN TEA in a tea bag. Seriously. Liuyishou has a solid hot pot. It is very clean and the staff are great. We paid $3 dollars for the sauce and mini unlimited fruit and salad bar which was an awesome deal! Great fruit choices like like fresh cut pineapple and watermelon. The hot pot was a bit pricey, for two people we spent about $85 including tip which included a small selection of items. I highly recommend to go with a group. Also, being a fan of spicy foods, I wanted to get the spiciest level but the staff warned me not to for the first time so we went with the medium level. I kid you not, my boyfriend and I had a stomach ache for the next three days because it was so damn spicy. So, this is definitely not the place to mess around when it comes to spice. I'd say stick with the mild and have spicy dipping sauce or you may have bowel issues the next couple of days. As for visitors from out of town, I think Liuyishou is located in the best Chinatown, and you can hit up authentic bubble tea and street food snacks afterwards for affordable prices! read more

Liuyishou Hotpot is in downtown Flushing conveniently located near by subway and bus station 136-76 39th Ave, Queens, NY 11354 They have daily All you can eat $31.98 for adult, $14.98 for children, soup base is not including AYCE, price range from $12.98 - $19.98. The sauce station comes with lots variety of sauces and free food items, including my favorite spicy peanut chicken, crawfish, Bing fen dessert. You can also order additional chef specials items for small extra costs. The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere and exceptional service provided by the waitstaff. Overall, Liuyishou Hotpot exceeded my expectations, thanks to the outstanding service provided by both the male and female waitstaff. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great hotpot experience with excellent service. read more

I recently went at LiuYiShou Hot Pot. It's an all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant in Flushing and was extremely impressed. Not only was the lamb mouthwatering, but the selection of meats, vegetables, sauces and broths was vast and allowed for endless flavour combinations. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was casual and perfect for a dinner with friends or family. This is probably my favorite hotpot in flushing. It tastes so good. I like their soup base and sauce. Especially the some of the sauce are unique. I like it so much. The 9 cold dishes would probably be best shared between three people as it's quite a decent amount of food. From the photos on here, it seems the dishes rotate but our platter had cucumber salad, bamboo shoots, daikon, some type of mushy eggplant thing, lotus root, sliced tofu sheets, a version of husband and wife tripe and beef, spicy gizzards and some mushrooms. All of the dishes were delicious and satisfying and each had its own unique flavor. Some highlights were the lotus root which was crunchy and tossed with human pickled chilis, the soft noodle-like tofu sheets, and the perfectly balanced cucumber salad. This was my first time trying gizzard, and while the texture was unfamiliar I found these to be well prepared and not overly chewy. They were stirfried with pickled beans, garlic, peppers and chilis. Our dish was prepared at 50% spiciness and it was hot but tolerable. Despite being unsure about the gizzard themselves, I couldn't stop eating this dish because of its addictive sauce and seasoning. I'm glad we took the waiter's suggestion on the stir fried beef, which was incredibly tender and thinly sliced. It was paired with crunchy vegetables and fruity fresh chili. We had this dish prepared at 30% spiciness and I found it to have only a touch of heat, as long as you avoided eating the pieces of chili themselves. Both dishes were delicious and I couldn't get enough of the sauce soaked rice at the end of the meal. Although similarly spicy to Sichuan food, the flavor profile is different here. It's hot but complex with pickled elements and fruitiness throughout. It pairs great with a cold beer. I generally don't put much stock in the quality of a restaurant's service, as long as they bring me my food, but all the servers here were so sweet and friendly that it made the experience that much more special. The best deal is definitely a lobster cooked anyway you like for $10 plus 30% cooking fee ($3). In other words, $13 for a lobster or two for $26. However, be warned that ordering more lobsters will be $15 each plus 30% ($4.50), which means it $19.50 per lobster or $39 for two. There! i did the math for you. All live seafood in the tanks are priced the same way. After the cooking charge, most prices works out similarly compared to other competitors, if not higher. So don't fall for it. One of the other great deals I found was $20/lb for geoduck. We had one portion sashimi style and fried the belly portion. Both were delicious. Other than the live seafood tanks, I thought their best items were the Fried Salt & Pepper Pork Chops and Deep Fried Flounder (biggest size I have ever seen in a Cantonese restaurant). Roasted Squabs were decent too. I think I still prefer Golden Wonton King next door slightly more, but it's nice to have an alternative when there is a long line next door.

I did spot a few folks at other tables to see what they ordered and noodle dishes were definitely the favorite. I'll have to try it next time. Notably because I don't often eat spicy, it may be hard to find a noodle dish that isn't! So FYI... I would totally return but with friends since it is too hard to order just one thing!
