Although there is a separate section for the service department I'm going to put my review on the dealership because service is where they make their $ and should be responsible. 1. The waiting area is the size of a tuna can and everyone is squeezed together, some customers waiting on the sidewalk-this is all the time. 2. One poor service guy scrambling around doing the best he can who can't keep his promises to call you back because he's just too busy. It's like asking the Home Depot guy for help, the difference is you're premium dealer prices for service and parts. 3. You have to deal with parts and service separately on your own. I've never had this experience with a dealer where I have to figure out the specific details of the parts and part numbers I need and order them and then I'm calling parts dept. Constantly to check status, and the another call myself to get an appointment. They don't work together and I'm not an expert on each specific part on my vehicle but they are charging me hundreds per part and per hour. read more

I like the employees at this location. They are helpful and nice. However, they seem to have a VERY LOOSE mask policy. As you enter the gentleman at the first desk on the left side does not wear his mask at all. He casually removed his mask when talking to me . The salesperson also kept removing his mask and taking drinks. I was not there for long and he could have waited a few min. In addition, the place seems to have very low inventory. read more

If I could select 0 stars I would. My husband and I bought a car here back in December/January. Worked through our credit union and brought almost half the cars worth in cash to purchase. We took the car for a test drive and immediately noticed a loud screech when applying the brakes coming to a stop. This wasn't just a one time thing, this happened at every stop throughout the test drive. My husband was hesitant about the screeching but was set on purchasing this car because it was late, we had looked at other dealerships and this was the best car for the price in the area. When we pulled back into the lot in front of the office the car screeched again grabbing the attention of two of the employees inside. When we brought it up to the manager to request a promise to fix the brakes if we bought the car. He ran a report to tell us the brakes were still new , which they were not, and that they would not honor a replacement. He claimed the brakes were not stock, aftermarket which was a lie and said that was the reason they screeched. The brakes on the car were stock brakes but had been worn in and needed to be replaced but the manager still persisted that there was nothing he was going to do. This is the worst customer service we have both ever experienced buying a car, new or used. Despite the terrible customer service by Ryan the manager, my husband wanted the car still and paid the dealership cash and used a line of pre approved credit for the balance. When going over the sale terms and agreements awww came across a section stating if when purchasing there was anything found to be unsatisfactory about the car to please notify the dealership for the opportunity to fix the issue before taking legal action and we couldn't believe that the manager still would not honor a request to fix the brakes. We have since put up with the brakes but in the last 5 months we have also almost been sent to collections for failure of the dealership to reach out the the credit unions team for the loan details and have also requested my husband bring the car back to Livermore from San Jose to smog the car when it should have been done prior to the sale. Today we received a notice from our credit union declaring Subaru still has yet to give them the title to the car and the manager Ryan refuses to reach out to us despite our multiples calls in to get this matter resolved. In my opinion Ryan should be fired. His employee tried vouching for him asking we not file a bad complaint of the entire experience due to him dealing with family issues and him not acting like himself. To be quite honest his home life is not our concern. His job to provide a clean and organized sale is what we came for and have had issue with since the day we drove the car off the lot. If this is not resolved by Subaru we will be taking legal action. read more

My husband has had his Suburu for five years or less. During this time he has more issues with his brand new car than I have had with my 2013 Mazda. I'm floored by the customer service and the loaner cars we have received. We got a loaner car today, during COVID and were told "sorry the car is dirty we can't clean it". What?? How are you giving us a loaner car that HASN'T been cleaned?? There have been so many recalls and so many issues with lights coming up on the car, it's crazy to me that so many people love their Suburu's. We have had transmission errors and not a single sole from the company reached out to say oh yeah your car will have transmission issues, bring it in so we can fix it. Take your business to another dealership. This place doesn't seem to know how to do business nor can they clean their own loaner cars? A joke if you ask me. read more

I purchased 2 cars here. A 2015 Crosstrek and a 2017 WRX. Sales experience was great but service department is trash. They really have no idea what they're doing there. I've had some minor issues, long waits, appointments not available for weeks, once they under inflated all of my tires. I've been back twice for a sensor repair already and I'm out hundreds of dollars of missed work. This time it went out again 1 day after the repair. Right now 100% of our income comes from rideshare driving, which you just can't do with your dash lit up like a Christmas tree. They told me the last time I had it repaired the reason the sensor went out again was because it wasn't replaced the previous time. Per Subaru the sensor replacement was only supposed to be done if it failed 2 times, so only an adjustment was made. When I discovered on my paperwork they'd only made the same adjustment again and asked how THEY missed that on the paperwork, they switched up the story and said it WAS replaced the first time. Either the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing or they're flat out lying. The worst thing is the manager, Richard, told me they do nothing to compensate you. They have no plan or policy. I don't know how a customer service organization can exist without a plan for how to make things right when they screw up. So remember, even if you buy 2 brand new vehicles in 2 years, refer your friends and family, and write them a great 5 star yelp, don't expect to be valued as a customer. If they screw you over be prepared to be told to kick rocks. They don't care. read more

They had one with automatic seat adjustment and the garage opening, just the car I needed. When I got there, I was told that it was sold the other day. They said they had another one, but it was a little more expensive. It has all the bells and whistles. Cassie and Cedric guided me through the whole process and made it very easy. Kudos to them. When I purchased my Forester from Livermore Subaru I was thrilled. The sales department was outstanding. I purchased the warranty and don't regret it. My disappointment in this dealership quickly appeared. There are very few parking spaces and the lanes to the service department are very narrow. There have been times when I could not exit my space because the cars are stacked one on top of another. When they designed this dealership they just had barely enough room to squeeze it into the existing real estate. My experience with the service department were good at first. I was able to get in to have my oil change done and out in an hour. This quickly escalated to two and three hours for a simple oil change. Long story short, after my warranty ran out I've been getting maintenance done at a local, well respected garage. This is the straw that broke the camels back. I made an appointment to have my car serviced for two recalls. After dropping it off at 7:45 am I was told it should be ready at 4:00pm. Oh no, not so!! It wasn't ready, to o lay that nothing had been done to it. They had it all day, what's the problem? When I showed up to pick up my car at 4:30 I was told it will be ready at 12:00 the next day. Oh hell no! I had plans to see my cousin the next day in Northern California. This is very unfortunate, poor service, excuses, not the way to run a successful business. read more

I was in contact with Wesley concerning an Impreza I wanted to come look at and potentially purchase. I was In contact with him daily, for 3 days, concerning the vehicle and everything seemed fine. I tell him Friday night that I'll be in tomorrow morning to come look at it and that it's a 2 hour drive from me to him so I'll be in around 11am. He says ok ask for me or Carl and ill see you then. Next morning I check the website, listing is still up. I make my way down there, it takes me 2.5 hours with traffic and Iam met with, "oh sorry we sold that last night. But why not go for a WRX?" This is a joke right? I've NEVER had a place lie to my face so blatantly just to get me in the place and try to upsell me to their most expensive model car. Then he has the audacity to say, "oh well how do you know you can't qualify for it?" Ummmm.....because I know what I can afford! How dare you try to upsell me from a $20,000 vehicle to one over double the price at starting. And they wonder why places like Carvana and online dealers are eating their lunch, this was completely unprofessional and ridiculous. Why didn't Wesley tell me that the car was sold the night before when I confirmed? Oh and I know the old excuse, "Well it was sold after he sent you that email." Yeah.....sure whatever you say. Why didnt someone contact me the next morning and tell me it was sold?? I informed you it was a 2 hour drive, NO ONE had the common courtesy to do this for me? Why was the listing still active the next morning after it was sold? Do you do this continually in hopes of bringing someone in and upselling them? Cargurus.com said the car had been on the market for 75 days, over 30 at this lot and was not selling well or had any interest from buyers. But your telling me it was sold literally the night before I come in to buy it? Your full of it, you lied to me to upsell me. You never had that car. Please I beg you, go to a different Subaru dealer. There are ones like Maita Subaru and Shingle Springs Subaru who actually care about you and your business. I have two instances where this dealership failed me. #1 - I went in for an oil change and they did not honor the coupon I had and instead gave me a lesser percentage off just to make a few dollars. This dealership will nickel and dime you every chance they get. #2 - They emailed me a trade in offer that was too good to be true. I spoke with a kid named Alec Ortega over the phone and emailed him the email I received ahead of going into the dealership and he said they would be able to honor the sales figures in the email. Once arriving to the dealership this was false. They wasted my time and had me come in stating they could honor the deal they emailed me. No apology was offered. Whatever you do don't buy from this dealership. They'll waste your time, won't honor their word, and will nickel and dime you every chance they get. read more

If you're in the market for a Subaru, look no further!! My husband and I have purchased vehicles from both Modesto Subaru and Stevens Creek Subaru, so we had a fairly good idea of the quality of service we would receive, but this dealership blew the other two out of the water! I'd personally like to thank Farhad in sales and Roberto in finance. Farhad showed us the car we initially came to see (preowned 2019 Outback). I wasn't totally in love with it, and couldn't help but eye the new 2022 Outback that was on the showroom floor. He offered a test drive but I declined, stating that our budget was limited to the 2019 Outback. He insisted on the test drive, and assured that he could make it work if it was what we really wanted. I was pleasantly surprised and took him up on the offer. Of course I fell in love with the car during test drive (all of the extra installs and accessories were a huge bonus). He worked the price down enough to fit what we were looking to spend, and it was the easiest "negotiation" I've ever had on a car. (In contrast, Stevens Creek wouldn't even throw in a tank of gas for us). Once the price was settled, we still had a ways to go on sealing the deal. Roberto came in and worked his magic for us! I've never had an experience in the finance department with an employee who was so dedicated to making it work for us. He stayed late working on getting us approved (my credit isn't perfect and I was a little worried that it would all fall apart at this point). But he secured us a decent rate with a credit union. I say "decent" because it wasn't exactly what I wanted, but it was what I qualified for on my own shaky merit. It was good enough, so I was willing to sign for the car. Here's where the magic comes in- Roberto assured us that he would work on securing a better loan for us (my preference was Chase because that is my bank and where our other car loan is from). A few days later after purchasing the car and driving off the lot, we got notified that he WAS able to secure a better rate from CHASE!! I came back in that day to resign the papers with the lender that I felt much more comfortable with, and at a better rate! I've never felt like a dealership took care of us as well as Livermore Subaru has. We will be buying all of our future cars from there from now on, and referring all of our friends and family! I was interested in a used 2018 Toyota Corolla SE they had in stock, and the request process online as well as the communication to set up the test drive through Lauren's help went super smoothly! However, after the test drive, Lauren became much less responsive, and I could only get a text reply when I called the dealership myself and had someone else help me reach her. I want to think that it was end-of-year busy-ness but I did wonder if it was that I was being profiled for looking younger and not being considered as a serious buyer--I hope that wasn't the case. In the end, I had to call in (for the fourth or fifth) time to finally discuss price, and they were only about to budge around $200 (funny that the listing price dropped like $500 the week after), which combined with the experience, I wasn't willing to take. read more

My purchase experience here at Livermore Subaru was great! I made an appointment with Lauren and she was extremely helpful! We discussed mostly everything via email when we were talking about the vehicle, color, class, and all the options. After meeting with Lauren, she showed me to the car and we went on a test drive where she was pointing out all the features inside the car and what they all meant. I had already done all the research beforehand so I had prepared questions on the Subaru-centric things like the Eyesight Safety features as well as the rear camera views. FYI, I haven't bought a new car in more than a decade so things like the rear camera and the blind spot warning light and the front/rear auto collision braking is a revelation to me. What I was used to see who was in my blind spot: I leaned forward while I was driving to check my side mirrors. Yep, very 2000's. After giving the car the once over, we finally sat down and started hammering out all of the pricing details. This took the longest because dealerships usually want you to buy the optional things like the extended warranty, the maintenance package, add-on's to the car, the exterior treatment options, and the list goes on. I did have any idea on what I wanted to buy so when they gave me the price quote, they had all of the optional stuff on there! I had to verbally decline all of those things so that they can print a new quote. I had to do that three times since they only could remove one item at a time. After a considerable amount of time, I finally got the price down to what we agreed to via email. The final final step was of course the financing/payment part which was only handled by two people within the entire building. Two? It's the weekend and this dealership was filled to the brim with customers and the finance team seemed to me like a huge bottleneck. Upon my turn, I realized why it took so long. The finance people can and have the opportunity to offer "deeper" discounts on the optional items mentioned earlier. The outer coating treatment was deducted in half and the extended warranty was deducted further as well. When I saw the warranty's lower price...it did make me pause as I ran the numbers on my phone calculator. After some further negotiation, we came to an agreement and that was added to the final total. They even let me pay it by credit card. Moral of the story: Wait out on committing to buying the optional add-on's for new or used cars. The salespeople may not have the leverage to do it so their best price may not be what you can really get. With that in mind, the experience was exhaustive and tiring but I emerged with a new car and a fairly memorable experience. Bit of advice for service appointments: Always make sure to book an appointment online or by phone. I went here without an appointment for an oil change and they had a two hour wait on a Friday afternoon. Yeah, no kidding. They are so busy that they turned away customer business because of the volume. read more

This is my 3rd Outback, which is a 2018. Last one was 2005. Had a couple of cars since then. I wanted to have a fun and easy process. Buying a car should be fun and not something to dread. I like to do research on the new models, so I know what my value will be when I give them my money. I am a big believer in the customer having a great experience. In my business, furniture rental and sales, the customer experience in conducting business, what ever the reason is our #1 Priority. To do that you need to have great employees. If your employees are not happy, it is pretty difficult to give a great customer experience. Subaru's are a fairly easy product to purchase if you know what you want. So after they announced that I could purchase the 2018 models, I went on line and requested a quote from 5 dealers in my area. Of the 5 dealers 2 eliminated themselves by not responding quickly or by asking me if I could text the transaction with them. I love texting, but not when buying a car. The 3 remaining dealers I then went on to Yelp and Google to read customer reviews. One dealer that was in the running called me back and answered some questions I needed answers to. He was great, but he handed me over to a sales associate that wanted to sell me a 2017 model at "a great discount". Unfortunately, that is not what the instructions were that I communicated on the phone, so their communication was not good. Another dealer out. I then got a call from Cassie the Business Development Center Manager at Livermore Subaru. She was extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I asked her about 10 questions and she answered 9 of them and told me she would get back to me on the last one. She did, within 45 minutes. Because of the way the dealerships are set up you talk with either a Internet Manager or Business Development Center Manager and they get you in to do a test drive and then you are professionally handed over to a Sales Associate. In my case I gave Cassie 2 names of Sales Associates I wanted to work with, Chia or William. I got Chia. Yeah! I went to the dealership and did my test drive with Chia. It was great that she also owned the same car I was going to purchase. She was also very friendly and professional. Since I was ordering a car from the Factory, it would be about 6 weeks (it came in 5). While I waited for my car to be made, Chia gave me her cell phone and told me if I had any questions to call her ANY TIME. You don't get service many places if any. She did some check in calls with over them manufacturing period. Very Nice. The picture is my new Outback, Cassie (R) and Chia(L) and that old fat guy in the middle is me. I also worked with Marlon the Finance manager (he did the paperwork and suggested a full service agreement, that pays for all the service over 42 months). All in all I had a fabulous customer experience! I highly recommend Livermore Subaru and Chia and Cassie. This Subaru dealership came very highly recommended from friends of mine, and I'm sorry to say that I've been very disappointed with their service. I bought a brand new Subaru Crosstrek on July 4th, and was very excited about the car! The test drive was great, and the dealership even offered to house the car until August 1st when I returned from a trip. That's when the problems started. I couldn't confirm with anyone when I returned that the car was available to pick up. After speaking with a manager, I was finally able to confirm and pick up my car. But there was only one key. Keep in mind, this was almost a month after I initially bought the car. But I thought, no problem, they said they would order one and it was no big deal. Oh how wrong I was. When I called three weeks later, the key hadn't even been ordered. A manager assured me he would take care of it and call me on Monday or Tuesday when the key arrived. Fast forward...it is now August 29th, and I still have no key. I've spoken with managers, made countless phone calls, and can't get anyone to call me back. I called this past Tuesday (when I was told the key would be here), and haven't heard anything since. I'm sincerely hoping the service department does a better job than sales, as I already purchased the pre-paid service package. Let's just say I'm not optimistic. read more

We bought a used car from Livermore Subaru in June 2024 and found the sales people very helpful if not overly eager. We negotiated a reasonable price via telephone on a used vehicle that we wanted. The paperwork was done quickly and efficiently. With all that went well I feel it important to state that my specific question inquiring about ANY damage to the vehicle was responded to "it's really clean." my interpretation of that response was such that there would be NO damage to the vehicle. However, there was a small paint chip, a scuff on the bumper, and after driving the vehicle with the windows up on the way home, we realized it had been a smokers car. The vehicle is clean, but I would not describe it as having no damage. Maybe that's our mistake for not noticing, but we arrived late in the day and were eager to get out the door. I feel the dealership misrepresented the car as "very clean" when in fact, it was a smokers car and the odor continues to linger more than a month later. read more

Came in to get my TMPS reprogrammed since I got new wheels with new sensors that were not programmed to the car. This should only take a few minutes to do with one tool. Service desk said 2-3 hours and $120. I pushed back and told him it should only take a few minutes to do. He went to talk with a tech then came back and said it would be $90 and take an hour at the least. Called Big O and they said it would be free and confirmed it would take less than 15 minutes to do. I recommend calling around to other shops before getting any work done at Subaru Livermore. It's extremely shady to try and get $90 out of a job that takes minutes to do and that most places will do for free. read more

Horrible experience! Decided to "co-sign" a loan for my son but the reality was dishonest, and horrible. They ran our credit for 6 different lenders (none of who ultimately funded the loan) which tanked our credit. I repeatedly contacted them about it, only to get ignored. Radio Silence! Furthermore, they sold us a car with illegally tinted windows (no disclosure!) and my son was pulled over the very first night. The entire time I was at the dealership it felt shady and "off". We were in&out in record time. They even beat my credit union rate. Would deal with him again. read more
