First time visiting Denver, and my cousin took us out to this restaurant for dinner. My first impression of the area (Cherry Hill, close to the mall) is that it was very hip and had an LA/Newport Beach vibe to it. Upon entering the restaurant I was blown away by how big it was inside. The seating was very open and airy , it felt it we were dining outside. They had many sectioned seating areas and a few rooms which could be closed off for larger parties. We were a party of 16 so we got a room with a ginormous and long table. The walls closed off, which was nice as it gave us some privacy from the bustle of the rest of the restaurant. Just based on my first impression of the decor and service upon walking in, I knew it was going to be a great night. The service was excellent and the food did not disappoint. Bread - warm and so good! Muscles - OMG, I don't even like muscles but the butter sauce was so delish, I was sad when the dish was empty. This dish alone changed my perspective on muscles in general. Grilled octopus - I absolutely love grilled octopus. This dish was amazing , and I wish I didn't have to share it with the folks around me. Ahi - refreshing and flavorful Hummus - unexpectedly refreshing and savory at the same time. I would have ordered this on my own, but I'm so glad my party ordered it. Definitely a great dish to share. Blackened Salmon - I loved this! The outside was nice and crunchy but the body was still juicy. Short review: Noisy and expensive. Welcome to Cherry Creek north where are all the boys are handsome, all the girls are thin, and all the cars are parked by a valet. I didn't especially care for this place, which was packed to the rafters on a Saturday night. My $29 buttermilk ranch fried chicken (or I should say two pieces of chicken) was thickly battered and underdone. KFC is way better. Others had salmon which I thought was just ok. The best entree was the bucatini pasta served with bacon lardons. Noise level was approaching being inside a 747 jet engine during takeoff. Would not rush back. read more

So back in Denver once again and I found myself in and a little place called Cheery Creek. Its an interesting place, friendly people and a lot of places to eat and shop. During my walkabout, I found this place and based on the wait times and required reservations, I figured I selected a perfect spot. Since I was rolling solo, I asked for a seat at the bar and was told that there was no space as they were limiting the amount of people sitting at the bar... so no sooner than I decided to go somewhere else, the receptionist stopped me and advised that someone had just gotten up from the bar and if I would give her a few minutes to clean the area then the seat was available for me... I must be living right! After I got my seat, I met Brent & Jack... and boy were they busy. The drink request were rolling off the POS system quicker than they could blink their eyes but they were handling it like professionals. In stride, they apologized and asked me to give them just a few minutes and they would be with me as quickly as they could. When they finally got to me they asked what did I want to drink while placing a glass of water in front of me... I went against my usual and went with an Old Fashioned... I honestly don't know where that came from but sometimes you just want something a little different. The old fashioned was amazing and I honestly think I may have found me a new adult beverage. For appetizers I went with oysters on the half shell... you can never go wrong with those... I was a little disappointed as I am from the south and we eat oysters with saltines and tabasco. Oysters in the south come with those extras and since they were so busy I didn't have the heart to bother them for saltine crackers and tabasco... regardless the oysters were amazing! For my main course, I went with the LJ Cheeseburger and while it looks like a simple cheeseburger, the taste was simply amazing. My wife and I had dinner with another couple at Local Jones on June 26, 2025. Our waiter's demeanor was kind of strange and off-putting, the service was inconsistent, and some of the food came to the table cold, inconsistently plated, or otherwise unsatisfying. We were not overly impressed. Here are a few details. -My wife and I both ordered the bucatini. A server brought our plates to the party seated at the table in front of us, then to the one at the table behind us, then walked around the dining room confused for a while, oblivious to our attempts to get his attention, before returning to the kitchen with our pasta for further instructions. Eventually, the plates made it to our table. By then, the pasta was of course cold. -My wife was presented with a serving of (cold) bucatini that was much larger than mine, but hers had almost no sauce and no tomatoes. My own plate had lots of sauce and all the tomatoes, but much less pasta. Obviously, our servings had been cooked together in one big batch then hurriedly dumped onto the serving plates without sufficient care. -The waiter wrote down none of our order and, predictably, forgot a side order. He comped it on the bill, but we still would rather have had the dish served with our main course. -Our midwestern dining companion said the hush puppies that came with her fried chicken were the worst she'd ever had. They were greasy and dense all the way through, she reported, with none of the lightness of batter on the inside that the dish is supposed to have. read more

Good burger. But not a smash burger. A smash burger gets its fundamental charm from being placed raw on a scalding grill and pressed super thin in place. That leaves a crispy patty with that awesome charred flavor without being too dry or overcooked. This patty was quite thick and, frankly, quite raw. (I would have included a photo of the inside of the burger but I find looking at pics of half eaten food gross so I won't post that here!) The fries were phenomenal, though. I haven't had fries like that since Belgium. Perfectly crispy on the outside, steamy on the inside with a subtle herb seasoning, no greasiness and (this is harder to find these days IMO) it actually tastes like a potato. The kind of modern farmhouse vibe of this place is fun (would you like bead board with your mimosa?) and my bartender Daniel did a great job serving us. Local Jones has a great setup for social distancing. We recently came to eat in one of their "Winter Cabanas". They used their pool cabanas and made them extremely cozy with couches, pillows, furs, and an electric fireplace. There was a set menu for $85 a person where we had carrot hummus, beets, sunchokes, and rice with an over easy egg as our appatizers. Next was the cheese fondue with ham, pretzel, bread, bell peppers, cauliflower, mushrooms, broccolinni, potatoes and radishes. Next was short ribs with mashed parsnips. We ended with chocolate fondue with strawberries, pineapples, apples, and homemade marshmallows. Overall it was a great evening and a lot of fun to be go out and enjoy their rooftop. read more

I stopped by Local Jones after my sauna session because it looked interesting and I really liked the aesthetics of it. They had a DJ for their brunch and he played some cool music but it was a bit loud. My friend and I were immediately addressed and got a seat, the host was friendly. The waitress that we got while attentive seemed like she wasn't in the mood to stop for a bit longer, she often walked away when I tried to address her but maybe it was because the music was loud, who knows. Anyways, the brunch menu had a good array of stuff, we got the cinnamon roll which was HUGE, their bagel and lox, and the short rib hash. The cinnamon rolls were devine, it came out warm and so soft and cinnamony, it was perfect! The short rib hash, was lovely but I think there was way too much potatos and it was a bit too salty for me. I couldn't finish it all, but I did like the short rib so I finished that off. Very glad we came here! This is a cute spot to celebrate an intimate birthday, a date, etc... not for kids (I don't think) its better you take them to a family restaurant for sure. The restaurant has a great environment and vibe over all, you can talk comfortably, the lighting is perfect. We got without a reservation and we were sited within a minute. Service was great and food too. As a starter we ordered Hamachi ceviche (super good) and crispy potatoes (they had a smokey bbq taste not my favorite but it wasn't too bad) For dinner we had a Jones Cheeseburger (very juicy & tasty), Organic Verlasso Salmon was delicious and the Colorado Green Chilli & Cheese Enchiladas were really yummy ! For dessert we had sticky toffee cake (a must), apple galette was good too, and the chocolate pot de creme wasn't that good! It would be better if they had a chocolate mouse, a pear dessert or the classic crème brûlée. They have a good selection of wines by the bottle. Covid review: staff is respectful, they all wearing masks, they keep their distance, and tables are set up with good distance. If you care about a place with good covid rules this is a food one! I personally, don't give a , I just follow rules to make others feel "safe". Prices $$$ reasonable between medium to high...we paid $194 + 40 bucks of tip for the above order plus water, and 2 glass of wine. read more

Wanted to try a new place and settled on Local Jones based on excellent reviews and their heated greenhouse seating. Reservation was easy to make via Resy, but note they do charge $40 if you don't cancel the reservation with at least a day's notice. Also, dining in the restaurant is limited to 1.5 hours (maybe due to capacity limitations during COVID?), which is honestly not enough time for anything but a quick dinner, and certainly not enough for a catch up with friends and multiple rounds of drinks. Because we ended up going on a rainy day, and only one other greenhouse was occupied, they let us stay slightly longer but it still felt like we weren't welcome to hang out and order more (we ended up chugging our last round of drinks). Unfortunately, they also don't do happy hour on Fridays which is sort of confusing to me because Fridays are weekdays, last I checked, and what other day is worth going out for happy hour? Parking in cherry creek is not fun. Even during COVID times, it was fairly hard to find a spot without circling the block once or twice. Most of it is metered parking, $1/hour. Note that the greenhouses are situated on the street, so there were a few times it felt like the cars parallel parking or backing up were uncomfortably close and you really notice how trapped you are in your thin plastic greenhouse. The service was great, and the food was pretty good and presented beautifully. The portion sizes were decent. I would recommend the greenhouse dining experience, just because it's kind of a neat experience and the heater is a plus. The restaurant itself seems pretty organized and they are asking for guest names and numbers for contact tracing. read more

During Covid - things and life is weird. So I usually don't try something crazy new, but I had a socially distanced appropriate HH planned with some friends (just 3 - yes no big groups!) I choose Local Jones because of the amazing outdoor/indoor seating arrangements. Plus - they have some strong cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages w/ fabulous apps. And you already should know the deal - you must wear a mask upon arrival but not at your table. And if you forget - they will have some at the front desk. This place is beautiful. There is lounge seating but I don't think I saw anyone in them bc of the 50% capacity. This is the deal. This place is popular and even if you see open tables, they are not opened. You should always make a reservation on Resty. I personally don't sit indoors, so I have to ask for an outdoor seat or seats by the open doors. Things to note: 1) great date night for cocktails and food 2) loved the beet hummus and octopus dishes 3) pass on the ceviche, meh needed a lot more acid 4) $15 cocktails, $8 non-alcoholic 5) more mature crowd So you think u can't people watch while dining bc of the obvious? Think again and come to Local Jones, get an outdoor seat, drink some strong cocktails and pretend things are normal. read more

Well, just left the restaurant.. I am not one to ever make a review but the reviews here are very misleading. Called all the restaurants and every place was full..So I opted for this place. After speaking to several friends they said steer clear from there, but obviously that's opinion based... They don't believe in salt here, which is fine cause I can add salt and problem fixed. However it's already a very expensive menu for what you get and I shouldn't have to fix it for it to taste better. My small salmon piece I received (probably size of a twinkie maybe not as long) my salmon was raw... literally cold inside. the waitress said it's made that way medium.... and we kept telling her to look at it it's raw but she just said it's cooked that way... okay so you bring out raw salmon???? i'll take a photo of my salmon when I get home as a follow up... again only took two bites so it's literally that small... if the waitress doesn't care about quality that's fine... drinks took 30 min to come out... I get it's valentine's day but really 30 min? Do better. Not worth 100 dollars per person for a meal. Do better. read more

We brought friends from out of town for dinner here and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the dining room wa a beautiful and located in Cherry Creek which makes for a nice after dinner stroll spot. Our only complaint was that our server was a bit sales-y for an already relatively expensive menu, but he was very friendly and attentive as well. The cookie for dessert was incredible, as was the bread and the short rib entree. They have a seasonally rotating menu but all of the entrees were very tempting and we'll definitely be back to try more! read more

Poor to-go service for locals or anyone visiting the area. Unfortunately, there was a disconnect between the bar and the hostess regarding where to pick-up the order. The bartender was unusually rude, and the hostess seemed confused as to why the bartender directed us to the hostess stand. After lingering, we noticed a brown bag sitting on the floor near the hostess stand where people were checking in. Once we paid, we noticed the smell of tomato soup. As soon as we got to the car we saw that the soup container was not closed at the soup at spilled everywhere. In calling the restaurant back to explain the issue and request a fresh soup, were told no. The bag had been sitting on the floor for what seemed like a moment given the temperature of the food, and the bag was not checked before we left the property. We believed that Local Jones and Halcyon had so much confidence in their product that checking the food was not necessary. Unfortunately, after confirming that they would not honor another bowl of soup, we were put on hold while she 'checked' to see what they could do. We were on hold for 21 minutes and she never returned to the phone call. The call disconnected. If your are going to visit, we recommend doing so when they are not busy, typically between 2-5. We visited regularly, and had planned to spend Thanksgiving there, but we'd much prefer the service next door at Quality Italian. The staff at Local Jones doesn't appear to be capable of handling a busy night, or a local customer calling in a to-go order. read more

Additionally, I ordered your signature drink ,Left Wrist, which was served in a glass that was no bigger than a large thimble ( maybe 3oz.) Shortly thereafter I watched the same waiter deliver the same drink to a nearby table this time it was served in a larger martini glass. Local Jones never disappoints. I haven't found an item on the menu that I dislike. For lunch I love the chicken salad melt and don't forget to try the fresh made dinner rolls! Nice spot. Food was hit or miss. Same with service. Weekend brunch hostess was terrible. As hotel guests (2 of us), we'd go down for breakfast around 9-9:30. We did not have reservations. Restaurant was mostly empty. We received a lecture on both days that they didn't have any available tables and were seated at worst table in the restaurant or were instructed to sit at the bar. Both times by the time we finished restaurant was still empty. We actually canceled reservations we had for later and opted for one of the many other establishments near by.
