Staff were very friendly and professional always with a smile and attentive. I enjoyed my soup, the fried rice and chicken was great! I have one request and I can't find this chicken dish anywhere other than Oregon and Washington, please add (MarFar chicken) to your menu! I would be there every day, it's a family Favorite in Oregon and kids love it too! I added photos of it here.

Food is still great and very consistent. Food comes out really fast. I now regularly stop by twice a week for lunch.

Honey walnut shrimp, don't get it . Way over prices and over battered. Panda express's honey walnut is way better .

Ive never ordered honey walnut shrimp at a Chinese restaurant and there be some left over at the end. It's trash, batter is way way too thick! I never been to a Chinese restaurant where they didn't include bones in spare ribs, felt weird. This isn't a Chinese restaurant Chinese people actually go too. Standard utensils were fork and spoon, no chop sticks. Price is too high for everything. Combo fried rice was decent.

I expect Lock Chun is enjoyable for those looking for a reasonably priced American-Chinese restaurant, with most flavors being tuned to that palate. I can safely recommend it for those seeking that kind of fare. For more authentic Chinese food, I'd advise looking elsewhere. My personal misgivings aside, I had no qualms with service or value as staff interactions were quite friendly and the lunch special is a pretty good deal for the quantity of food. Parking wasn't too hard to find and it's situated near a convenient crossroads, so good for a quick meal during errands. Lunch specials covered your standard fare of Chinese dishes, but my go to for testing the waters has always been twice cooked pork. Specials come with a spring roll, soup, and serving of chow mein/white-rice/fried-rice. Twice cooked pork - 3/5 Decently good amount of food for the price, but generally pretty salty without too much depth. Ended up having to drink a lot of water to compensate for the saltiness. Nothing particularly special in terms of quality or preparation, but nothing terribly amiss either. Flavor is definitely more Americanized than not, as the hot and sour wasn't spicy at all. Not using pork belly added to the dryness, and needed more umami with less sodium. Absence of bean paste or heat was quite noticeable. Spring roll was a cabbage base and well-fried, coming with mustard and duck sauce.

Lunch special Sweet And Sour Pork; really good

Do they use a lot of sugar in cooking?

We ate there recently and did not have any taste of too much sugar.

This review is from my visit earlier last year. I'm just catching up on all my reviews now…read more We went when it was dinner time, and the place was packed. We waited for probably 15-20 minutes which wasn't too bad. The place is pretty big and fits a good amount of people. The food was great. Every single dish that we got was so good and packed with comfort and flavor. The veggies were well cooked, my favorite was the beef rolls. I would recommend checking this place out.

They have also opened a location in Cupertino that is more convenient for me. Adding Mian to this plaza definitely livened it up, it was so difficult finding parking and then there was an hour wait when we joined the waitlist. We wandered around Grocery Outlet and Savers to pass the time. I came with a group of 6 people. We ordered the sichuan spicy fries and fried chicken cutlet to share. The fries were the spiciest item I had that day, wow! I ordered the Sichuan chicken cold noodles, extra spicy. They were not spicy at all. I left everyone at the table try them and they all agreed it was not spicy. Kind of disappointing, I expected them to be spicier than the fries at least. My partner had the chengdu zajiang noodles, mild spicy. They were good, the signature dish of the restaurant. I would return, but their spice levels are very inconsistent.

The black bean noodles are flavorful with great texture, you can tell the noodles are handmade and not from a package. We normally get Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), but got the kkangounggi instead this time (The fried chicken in hot pepper sauce)... WOW... did not disappoint! Chicken came out piping hot, super crispy, tender juicy, and perfectly seasoned. Service was friendly and quick, very clean and great prices. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Felt like it was some place in Hong Kong or China. *Food: good if not great for the most part. The chef seems to be very careful or forgetful with the usage of salt though. *corn soup: 2.5/5: sweet and bland. There was no salt at all. No amount of chilli powder, salt or soy sauce helped redeem this dish. *chicken chow mein- 4/5- favorite dish on the table for all of us. Chicken was soft and didn't have a funky smell or taste. Noodles felt fresh. Dish was greasy though. *fried rice-3.5/5- came with mushrooms, eggs and some other veggies. Very nondescript and safe, felt more like a side dish rather than main. *deep fried chicken in hot pepper sauce:3.5/5- I was expecting some fire in this dish but this was unfortunately on the sweeter side as well. The chicken had a very crispy coating per description. *black bean noodles-3.5/5 after loving the version in Paiks noodle, it was difficult for me to like the version here. It was decent though, noodles seemed fresh and had a good bounce. But the sauce felt too soy saucy to me.

In general, their dim sum was better than dinner, but tonight's dishes are worth mentioning. The good: 1. steamed lobster with rice vermicelli: good flavor and fresh lobster. All lobster pieces were cut open, making it easy to eat. 2. beef steak with broccoli: the beef was so soft! The 0.5cm thickness makes it perfect size to bite down. 3. BBQ plate: loads of goodies, with my favorite cha siu, jelly fish, and pork belly cubes. 4. Soup with morel and chicken. Loads of morels! Could use a bit more salt but it's not that big a deal. The ones that could be improved: 1. small silver fish fried with egg yolk coating: a bit chewy, but good flavor. 2. sea cucumber stuffed with shrimp paste: indeed a hard to make dish at home, so we were all excited. But the sea cucumber was not well flavored; instead, it tasted quite fishy and earthy. Too bad this expensive dish was only half consumed. The bean sprouts at the bottom were a lot more desirable. 3. salt pepper chicken: it was seasoned with salt and pepper powder, but not cooked with salt at the pan, so the chicken lacks the heat and dryness from salt. At the night, a wedding reception was in place, but we were able to seat at the next room and enjoyed our noisy and loud cheers.
