We were out in these skreets and wanted to grab breakfast before running errands. I had been here before when it was Al's Burgers (thank God that place closed) LOL.....we walked in & were greeted and seated right away. The waitress took our drink orders and gave us time to browse the extensive menu. LOL. My lady ordered the chicken fried steak w/ eggs, hashbrowns and toast. I ordered the classic American breakfast w/ eggs over medium, bacon, grits & toast. We chatted it up while waiting for our food....which didn't take long to come out....said our blessing and went to town. The grits were the right consistency...just needed a pinch of salt LOL....my girl liked her chicken fried steak...had a great flavor, as did the hashbrowns. My breakfast was good....basic....you can't really mess up bacon & eggs....or can you LOL. If we're in the area, we'll stop back by. Went here with a group of 6. To start with, the service was amazing. The waitress was friendly and very nice. When we got our food, it was big portions, but that's where the compliments stop. The hash browns were extremely greasy, bacon was tasteless, and biscuits and gravy were just ok. read more

Food was delicious!! We were quickly seated for Sunday brunch. Waitress was kind and patient with our table of 9 (which included kids!). Everyone was happy with their food. One area for improvement is they have very limited choices for vegans. Count on this place. Every single time we come here it it's a great experience. Food is great, service is great. You come in and sit down, order and less than 10 mins your meal is served. We came here around 1:30, planning to have lunch food. But the breakfast menu looked so good that we opted for that instead. (Both menus are excellent, as you can see from my photos). Eggs were cooked perfectly ... French toast was the right texture ... ham was super tasty ... biscuits were fluffy. Good gravy, too. And the servers made sure my coffee cup stayed refilled. Speaking of servers: Everyone was very friendly and we were served immediately. You feel welcome here as soon as you walk in the door. The interior of the restaurant is fresh and clean -- they've definitely renovated it since the previous place vacated. We're looking forward to making Lone Star a regular spot. read more

Definitely some good service, server kept everything pleasant. I am thankful that he was there. Hence the 3 star rating. Owner though does not like criticism, they were upset that I stated my opinion on other sites. Claims food is fresh. What I experienced was the same thing that I have experienced at every other place that serves Sysco products. Side note the coffee cups advertised Sysco foods as well. Short story Sysco makes some good frozen food. Enjoy. Chicken fried steak was my choice of my meal. read more

If you like over-priced, poorly executed food, with poor service then this is your place. Took forever to be seated, and then once seated waited forever to be waited on. Coffee was lukewarm, and old. Food tasted like it came straight out of a box or bag. Pretty much just not a good experience. I will not try this one again. read more

Let me start out by telling you I was setted 20 minutes before closing. That is probably why the service sucked so bad. Staff was more concerned about end of shift duties than waiting on the customer and getting them out. I order a simple 2 eggs, hash brown, bacon and toast meal. Only special request is that the hash browns be crispy, almost burnt. Ask for coffee but apparently staff already cleaned machine, so no coffee. Well it is over 100 degrees outside sweet tea will work. Received a glass of tea so weak it was almost clear, and sent that back and settled for water. Meal arrived with barely cooked hash browns and flimsy grease soaked bacon. That bacon must have been sitting in the bottom of a pan since 6:00am to be that flimsy and grease infused. Sent it back to cook hash browns and new order of bacon. Received my meal back with slightly brown hashbrowns, half cooked but fresh bacon, and by this time cold eggs and hard toast. Thanks for keeping those eggs warm chef! Nothing like half cooked rubbery bacon to go with cold eggs. I gave 2 stars, mainly for my waitress. She was trying to make me the customer happy but was fighting a staff that was in closing mode and already on the way home. Restaurant itself deserves 0 stars. The food quality would get a negative rating if it were possible. read more

Ordered a to-go lunch on my lunch break. I was excited looking at the menu - they had all of the classic sandwiches, and they sounded goooood. I was so happy to find someplace in town that has crepes, too! I was thinking, "maybe I'll come back for these another time, if my sandwich is good." Somehow they are very hard to find in Arlington. Sadly, my Rueben sandwich was mostly slimy mayo, the meat was thinly-shaved and mostly tasteless, and the fries were pretty plain. I will say that the bread was fresh and the pickle was crunchy goodness, but between the subpar sandwich and the tiny styrofoam cup of a fountain drink, I likely won't be back. Even with the cost of goods nowadays, it was overpriced for the quality received. Maybe it's a better experience if you eat at the diner. read more

Me and my boyfriend came in here for a late breakfast and WOW! How did we not know about this awesome spot that's right down the street from us. We had the banana Nutella waffle and it was sooooo scrumptious. Cooked just right. We also split the southern omelette and it was delicious as wells great portions. We were so stuffed. This placed opened today and I can't rave enough about it. It's a family owned business and everyone here is very hands on and friendly. Lets start with the coffee. Some of the best I've had. I can tell them are buying the good stuff. For lunch I had the gyro with fries. Everything tasted fresh and the fries have a nice crisp to them. Portion sizes are good. The food is good, but the credit card fee keeps me from providing 5 stars. This day and age this should be built in to the cost of the meal. The owner can justify it all he wants, but there is an obvious easily solvable problem that is bringing down his ratings and it's not the food. read more

The Lone-star Cafe was an amazing idea on a Friday afternoon. I wanted some breakfast and Latrice made my visit so pleasant. I had the Two by Four breakfast which includes 2 huge pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon stripes and sausage patties. I loved it and will return for another meal of my choice. They close by 2:30 pm so you better get there quickly if you want some deliciousness. Enjoy! read more

We had breakfast here while in town it was very clean inside. The food was delicious and the service was excellent it was my husband, daughter, grand daughter, grandson and myself and my 3 yr old grandson was being a 3 year old boy lol and one of the waitresses who was from I think she said Russia came over and made him a boat out of a napkin then of course my granddaughter wanted one and she asked her if she could teach her how to make one and she did they were so friendly and patient with the kids. Not sure how the algorithms work but I will say this....since moving here 10 months ago we have been desperately seeking a good family breakfast spot with great service, hearty food and reasonable prices. Time and time again me and my family have been underwhelmed. We luckily came across this spot only because we hand two hours to kill waiting for a nearby zip line experience that's was postponed due to weather. Unplanned, no recommendation and total happenstance brought us here...and I can't wait to go back. Again.
