The food was great and the server very friendly. The problem I had was the waiting time. There were plenty of available tables, they were not that busy and still we waited 30 minutes to be seated. We go to this location frequently and have almost always had excellent service. Last night was no different. Our server Derika (may have spelled that wrong) was amazing! She was attentive and very knowledgable about everything we asked of her. She did not hover, however her timing was impeccable! I love it when a server doesn't bring everything out at once and try to rush you out of there. The food this visit was okay. They were out of shittake mushrooms for their new chef's signature steak. The beef tips were okay, but they tasted like my pot roast. The white cheddar mashed potatoes were bland, and the smoked Gouda green beans tasted like they had Alfredo sauce from a jar dumped on them. My dogs enjoyed them as leftovers though. This was the first time that our food was just okay. It won't stop us from going back, but we will probably stick to the menu staples from now on and not try anything new. read more

It's rare I can ever find a restaurant that will perfectly do a well done steak, so I never expect the best and am pleased when it turns out decent. LongHorn managed to get most of my t-bone grilled properly. It was still tender, juicy and flavorful...I just didn't eat anything too near the bone so my pup could enjoy my leftovers. :-) The baked potato was larger than most restaurants that give you something a 3 year old could swallow in two bites. It's also loaded with sour cream, chives, cheese, real bacon chunks (and butter which I leave off). Our dinner salads were fresh, had a variety of colorful veggies, and large enough to feel satisfied with the serving. The honey wheat bread kept coming out nice and hot. The butter was the perfect temperature to melt as needed but not be too messy or hard. The water tasted MEH so I ordered a peach tea and was more than satisfied. Our server, Savannah, was great about bringing refills without asking...both bread and iced teas. She was super attentive, friendly, and seemed genuinely interested in getting our order correct and making sure we were satisfied. We did have to send the prime rib back because we were unaware it was more of a rare type of meat. The manager, Bill, came over and explained the process, then he took the time to understand exactly how my mom likes her steaks. He said he would take care of it and have something else brought out that he thought she'd enjoy - just trust him. She ended up with a filet done well and it was just right. The prime rib portion of the meal was comped...appreciated the gesture, satisfying the dinner choice with a more appropriate choice, and also helped to know what my mom would prefer the next time she visits. It truly goes a long way when a manager goes above and beyond to make someone happy and of course I am here sharing all the other positive portions of the visit. Other notes are friendly greeting/hostess staff, clean restrooms, overall clean restaurant where tables are bussed quickly and properly...The best thing I noticed is the server to guest ratio allowed the staff to be attentive in a timely manner without compromising anything. And believe it or not, we either got lucky or there just are not a bunch of children at the location that we could really enjoy an adult meal without a lot of unnecessary noise. Where to start... in a Sunday we decided to stop and eat before heading back to work, I had to be back at work at 4. I had plenty of time to eat and relax before heading back to work. We get there around 1:40 and it is busy, but not crazy busy as lunch time is almost over. It takes about 15 minutes before we get a table, and everything was fine. The girl from the bar was our waitress. She asked for our drinks and took a long time before delivering drinks, it was no big deal. She took at least 20 minutes before coming back to ask for our order, and than I kept seeing her at the bar talking to clients. Walking back and forth, didn't look busy at all. I was getting really hungry and pretty upset. I literally had an hour left, and the food was not there yet. We kept waiting patiently, but I was running out of time, considering we arrived at 1:40 I was espero go to be out by 3 at the latest and it was already 3 and our food was not served yet. I was becoming very frustrated, I ask to talk to the manager. The waitress never even bother to go check on our table. The manager was beyond nice, which is the reason I am giving it a 5 star review. Not only did he get our food out, he asked me if I wanted a free desert. I really thought the desert was it, that I will get a free desert as an apology and we will continue with out day, but no he gave my family our whole order for free and even gave us some extra coupons for our next visit. We ended up going again the next Sunday and the service was great. I would recommend it 100% because we always had a great experience and the only time we didn't the manager made sure we left happy. read more

This is our new favorite chain steak restaurant after a few disappointing visits to Outback. We've been to Longhorn about three times this year, and it's been excellent each time. Salads are freshly prepared, and appetizers arrive quickly. Steaks are ALWAYS prepared correctly. I love their creamy mashed potatoes. It's a fun place to be -- not too loud, and strangely not a lot of kids whenever we've been there. Prices are typical for a steak place. read more

My wife and I decided to have lunch at Long horn, we usually do it at least once a month with good experiences most of the time; this Sunday not, this Sunday was very unfortunate our experience: We arrived at noon and we asked the hostess that we would eat at the bar, the bar did not have a single client, the dining room had some tables; We waited for someone to attend to us about 20 minutes, several waiters and waitresses passed by where we were, nobodies paid attention on us, a lady came in after behid the bar, she looked at us but did not approached us. It took another 10 minutes until that same lady approached us apologizing for the delay, she took the order of our drinks, two wedge salads (I was surprised that they served them with romaine lettuce and not with iceberg as it is traditionally done), we also ordered 6 OZ steak and 18 OZ bone in Rib eye, side dishes, parmegan asparagus, we asked to our server to bring the salads to the table before anything else, we were not on a hurry at all. Our waitress asked us if we wanted bread and we answered yes. The salads took 20 minutes to reach the table and without bread, we asked the young man who brought the salad to please bring bread too, a minute later, the steaks came to the table, we had not even started eating the salad and there was still no bread, we asked the same young man to please return the steaks since we were not ready for them yet, the steaks came back to the table two minutes later, the food was well prepared as usually,  the service was very poor but we still tip over than 20%. I do not realize that some manager was in the restaurant this time or maybe yes, a lady who previously worked at the bar seemed to be the manager on duty. When we left the place, on the parking lot next to our car, the waitress "who took care of us" was in next car smoking, maybe she was also smoking break while we waited for service in the restaurant. read more

My sisters and I went here the day before Christmas. I had read a lot of the reviews and thus we were considering not going because of what I read about the horrible service. However, we went and got there around 7:00 and were seated immediately. Rachel was our server and she was beyond great! The service was fast and we weren't lacking for anything. I had the baby back ribs and they're to die for - fall off the bone. One of us got a Sirloin which was a bit too spicy and they didn't hesitate in taking it back and bringing my sister another one (and taking it off the bill as well - very impressive). My other sister had a chopped steak smothered in mushrooms and onions and it was wonderful as well. Oh, and the mashed potatoes - OMG, gotta try 'em. All in all, we really enjoyed out visit and would definitely return. A bit on the pricey side so it won't be too often but we loved it. The ambience is great as well. read more

Last night I went to this restaurant with an old friend who came to Huston for business. It was my first time to try steak and I wasn't disappointed at all.I had the spicy chicken bite as an appetizer and it was delicious and above my expectation. Excellent service! Our server's name was James. He was extremely personable, made great suggestions and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. I had the 6 oz Flo's Filet and it was amazingly tender. My fiancé had the ribeye and it had perfect flavor. Both steaks were cooked to order. Went to Longhorn in the Woodlands Tx on Jan 13th, which happened to be my 50th anniversary. One of my sons is in icu in a nearby hospital so this was the best we could do under the circumstances. We were a party of 7, and I must say the server was excellent. I wish I could say the fillet mignon was equally as good. It was over seasoned and I couldn't eat it even after scrapping the top surface. under the circumstances I was not in the mood to complain but I'll never return, sorry to say that was my first and last visit, back to Texas Roadhouse for us. read more

Just can't go wrong! We are Woodlands residents, long time customers, and this is our go-to steakhouse in the area. Never had a bad meal here. Does that mean everything was always perfect? Of course not, it just means IF there is a problem, their great staff and manager (Billy) are all over it. We have found, and as another reviewer mentioned, they are super consistent on their cooking - when I order medium it comes out medium! Salads are always great (love their Caesar) and my loaded potato always comes out nice & soft. Wife & daughter love the baked sweet potato w/butter & cinnamon! Recommend the Flo's Filet - never disappointed and all you have to do is pick the size. TIP: download the Longhorn App and use the Waitlist feature - it works! Our last visit was on a Sat. night in primetime, so I joined the list from home, we arrived 15 min. later and BOOM- we were seated w/o a wait (about 12 people were in the waiting area - yes, we got some stink eyes, lol!). It makes u not want to dine there cause it takes someone all of 5-8 min. to even acknowledge you when u come in and it takes EVEN LONGER to get your food when the place is half empty!! But I guess that's what the "now hiring" sign out front is for cause omg you'll be waiting alllll day in there. The service at Longhorn was horrible!!!! We were given a 30 minute wait time and it was an hour and a half. There were 5 tables open and they were not seating people. The waiting area was standing room only along with the area outside the front door. Once we were seated it was 10 minutes before we were greeted by our server. The food arrived 30 minutes after we ordered and it was lukewarm to cold. The potato wasn't cooked fully. All in all the visit was horrible. First time visitor. Service was not very good. Slow to act of several requests. My wife had shrimp dinner. Asked for cocktail sauce. They had to "make it". How do you offer shrimp but have no cocktail sauce on hand? The bread that was served before the meal had very little taste. SaltGrass is much better. I had to ask to have our table cleaned off so we could sit down. All things considered, the main meal was very good but the rest of the experience did not match the quality of the main meal. Well overall we did not have a great experience. The waiter seemed to have too many tables and service was spotty at best. I had the Caesar salad and it was served in a small bowl and was mostly fluffed up lettuce and not very much of it. My steak was tough and for $16.99 I expected better. Also for a "medium" it was very pink. I got the wrong side dish and they had to bring out my fries in another plate. My mistake for not asking the price before hand but a frozen Margarita was $6.99 and a simple glass of wine came in at $8.79. We did not order anything special but like I said I should have asked the price. Desert was recommended by our waiter and it was $7.29 for a "Apple Goldrush." Again nothing more than an attempt at an apple pie with a scoop of vanilla. In looking at the online menu when we got home I found that almost all the prices were conspicuously absent. The waiter annoyed me at the beginning when he complimented everyone on "an excellent choice" regardless of what they ordered. It just didn't come across as sincere. Despite appearing on the menu, Oktoberfest Pretzel Sticks are no longer available. read more

Steaks have come out way under cooked on the past several visits. For the price, the caliber of food should be much better. They have become another "Outback" quality steakhouse. read more

So I won a $50 gift card at work. I was so excited because I never win anything! My friends and I chose Saltgrass for dinner. We order the jalapeno app and the fried mushrooms. The jalapeno app didn't have much flavor and the mushrooms were ok. The house salad was pretty good but I am not gong to go back just for that. I ordered the Gulf Coast Steak and Shrimp. I ordered the steak med-rare and got med. The steak already wasn't that great of quality without it being over cooked for my liking. Then I tried the shrimp. Wow, those were way over cooked and I was thinking that is why they were so bad. I didn't want to complain but they were just that bad. So the 16 y/o manager brought some out that weren't over cooked. They were still pretty bad. I don't know if it was the quality of the shrimp or the seasoning but regardless, it wasn't good. The martini I got was over priced along with the low quality of food that was served. I was just really upset because I was looking forward to this dinner but instead, I just got to waste my gift certificates on a bad dinner. I will not be going back, ever. read more

LongHorn Steakhouse - A new chain steakhouse in the 'hood. Gave this place a try, but didn't succeed until the second attempt. The first time, the line was so long -- because everyone else had the same idea to try them out, too. Subsequently, the hostesses encouraged people to call in for a wait status check or to make reservations. Unfortunately, despite standards set by a franchise, this place still had several kinks to iron out. Several tables were unoccupied, yet we still had to wait until we were seated -- despite our pre-check call, as previously suggested. At least 1 of the wait staff didn't appear to be properly trained -- our waitress/server had a seriously weird kink & kept dirtying other tables (clearing our table, only to dirty another table nearby, rather than scurry used plates all the way back to the kitchen...meanwhile, as each of her team-spirited colleagues made attempts to clear her 'reserved' dirty table, she stopped them from doing so...WTF? It's unsightly for incoming customers to be welcomed by unbussed tables, just as well. Were I the manager, I'd have chewed out her a* privately, or fired her a* if she proved not to be a quick-study.) As far as the food, it was in line with most other similar chains. Despite its proximity, with so many other customer-friendly options...methinks we won't be back. read more

Just horrible. This was our first time here and we were really excited to try it. As soon as we walked through the door, the hostess met us with a very sour face. She said a table had to be cleaned and then she would get us seated. A couple of seconds later another couple walked in and she sat them immediately. I asked why she would do that and she basically said some lame excuse under her breath, then rolled her eyes at us. We were finally seated and the waitress came over. I mentioned the attitude the hostess had and her response was that it didn't sound like her to be like that. We had to wait 25 minutes for our salad and another 20 minutes for our steak. When they finally brought our steak (40 minutes after we ordered it) they told my husband they ran out of baked potatoes. Seriously? The steak was horrible. It was very overcooked and it chewed like rubber. The only thing that was decent was the bread. The waitress only checked on us twice. It was a horrible experience beginning with the front door hostess. Go to Saltgrass down the road. Food MUCH better and service is excellent there! This place SUCKS! read more

From reading a few of the reviews I see nothing has changed. Went there when it first opened and was sorely disappointed. Crammed in the "waiting area" with a ton of other people when there were empty tables waiting. Our waitress was AWFUL, 20 mins to get drinks, finally set them down and then just left without asking if we were ready to order. Finally placed our order and only saw her when she was running to the bathroom on her phone, finally got our food and they forgot a bunch of items. Asked for said items and once again only saw her when she was running into the bathroom, finally got what we asked for after we were almost done eating. Manager walked by and asked if everything was OK and when I tried to tell him what happened he just replied "but you have what you need now right"? I was so mad when I left I promptly went home and emailed their corporate headquarters, they responded and also mailed me a $60 gift card with a request to visit the establishment and give them a second chance. Gave the card to my brother and his girlfriend. Will never set foot in a Longhorn again! read more

I got an green apple martini at the bar delicious perfect, we get seated I order another one get it ten minutes later disgusting like I was coughing every time I took a drink, she didn't come around till she brought our food even though I kept trying to flag her down, she said ok Ill just bring you a new one. She did it's wasn't as bad but my mood was already ruined. So we just got desert at Dairy Queen. I learned a lesson though if the drink is no good just go back and order it from the bar, my food was ok it just ruined my whole experience that my boyfriend was paying $8 for a drink that I had to send back, I worked in the industry I don't do that, so we tipped her a little less than ten percent and left. She did have a big table, right next too us, but it wouldn't have taken that much effort to check on our drinks especially since she passed by three times saw me and kept going. Just experienced a great lunch celebration for my 67th birthday today! I'm a retired widowed "Glammy" and my two grown sons and their wives and two of the grandchildren told me to select a nice place. I live in Conroe now, but they drove in from Tomball and League City to be with me. I have been to this location for lunches quite often in last few years and I always have had a very pleasant experience. The dining room was not crowded at all, the ambience is quiet and pleasant with soft music playing, the décor is nice, all the food choices we selected (chicken dishes and steaks, and the parmesan creamed spinach was a winner!) all were very good and well prepared and presented and at the right temp. My cocktail was very refreshing and delicious and we laughed, and had terrific conversations over our couple of hours there, not rushed or hurried out. The manager came by our table and was especially courteous and kind, the chef also did, and they also offered us a digital photograph of our family group in a nice Longhorn card for a keepsake of this day! Location is great, staff are friendly and attentive, prices are reasonable, ambience and décor is very pleasant and comfortable....I'll continue to keep coming back for all my special occasions with friends and family - Kudos...(it's risky to give such a good recommendation as I don't want it to get so crowded that I don't enjoy it any more??....ha ha read more

Really impressed with this location. I don't know if this is their business model in general, or just how this particular manager runs it, but its very good. The service is excellent, and often times you'll find yourself being seated by the manager while the hostesses assist him/her in where the next guest should be. They introduce themselves as the manager and ask for your feedback. The food is excellent, properly cooked, and pretty timely. Additionally, the atmosphere is a pleasant change. It is fairly quite and the restaurant is well designed and decorated. I love Texas Roadhouse, but the quality of food is higher here and it just feels more-so a luxury experience than a normal steakhouse. However, it is, on average, only $1-$3 more per person than Texas Roadhouse. And it is worth it. read more
